In this article, we establish the existence of an LHMTS(mv) for v ≡ 2 (mod 6) and m≡ 3 (mod 6). Thus there exists an LHMTS(mv) if and only if v(v-1)m2 ≡ 0 (mod 3) except possibly for v=6, m≡ 1, 5 (mod 6) and m≠1. In the similar way, the existence of LHDTS(mv) is completely determined, i.e., there exists an LHDTS(mv) if and only if v(v-1)m2 ≡ 0 (mod 3).  相似文献

A normal subgroup N of a finite group G is called n-decomposable in G if N is the union of n distinct G-conjugacy classes. We study the structure of nonperfect groups in which every proper nontrivial normal subgroup is m-decomposable, m+1-decomposable, or m+2-decomposable for some positive integer m. The order components of a finite group are introduced in [12]. In [9], it is proved that the group PSL(3,q), where q is an odd prime power, is uniquely determined by its order components. In this paper, we show that the group PSL(3, q), where q=2 m , is also uniquely determined by its order components. Inspired by Arnold’s classification of local Poisson structures [1] in the plane using the hierarchy of singularities of smooth functions, we consider the problem of global classification of Poisson structures on surfaces. Among the wide class of Poisson structures, we consider the class of bm-Poisson structures which can be also visualized using differential forms with singularities as bm-symplectic structures. In this paper we extend the classification scheme in [24] for bm-symplectic surfaces to the equivariant setting. When the compact group is the group of deck-transformations of an orientable covering, this yields the classification of these objects for nonorientable surfaces. The paper also includes recipes to construct bm-symplectic structures on surfaces. The feasibility of such constructions depends on orientability and on the colorability of an associated graph. The desingularization technique in [10] is revisited for surfaces and the compatibility with this classification scheme is analyzed in detail.  相似文献

We generalize Green’s lemma and Green’s theorem for usual binary semigroups to (n,m)-semigroups, define and describe the regularity for an element of an (n,m)-semigroup, give some criteria for an element of an (n,m)-semigroup to be invertible, and further apply the invertibility for (n,m)-semigroups to (n,m)-groups and give some equivalent characterizations for (n,m)-groups. We establish Hosszú-Gluskin theorems for (n,m)-semigroups in two cases, as generalizations of the corresponding theorems for n-groups.  相似文献

This paper considers the solution of a deterministic queueing system. In this system, the single server provides service in bulk with a threshold for the acceptance of customers into service. Analytic results are given for the steady-state probabilities of the number of customers in the system and in the queue for random and pre-arrival epochs. The solution of this system is a prerequisite to a four-point approximation to the model GI/G a,b /1. The paper demonstrates that the solution of such a system is not a trivial problem and can produce interesting results. The graphical solution discussed in the literature requires that the traffic intensity be a rational number. The results so generated may be misleading in practice when a control policy is imposed, even when the probability distributions for the interarrival and service times are both deterministic.  相似文献

For the multi-channel bulk-arrival queue, M x /M/c, Abol'nikov and Kabak independently obtained steady state results. In this paper the results of these authors are extended, corrected and simplified. A number of measures of efficiency are calculated for three cases where the arrival group size has: (i) a constant value, (ii) a geometric distribution, or (iii) a positive Poisson distribution. The paper also shows how to calculate fractiles for both the queue length and the waiting time distribution. Examples of extensive numerical results for certain measures of efficiency are presented in tabular and chart form.  相似文献

Integral modular categories of Frobenius-Perron dimension pq n , where p and q are primes, are considered. It is already known that such categories are group-theoretical in the cases of 0 ≤ n ≤ 4. In the general case we determine that these categories are either group-theoretical or contain a Tannakian subcategory of dimension q i for i > 1. We then show that all integral modular categories \(\mathcal {C}\) with \(\text {FPdim}(\mathcal {C})=pq^{5}\) are group-theoretical, and, if in addition p < q, all with \(\text {FPdim}(\mathcal {C})=pq^{6}\) or pq 7 are group-theoretical. In the process we generalize an existing criterion for an integral modular category to be group-theoretical.  相似文献

For integers nr, we treat the rth largest of a sample of size n as an \(\mathbb {R}^{\infty }\)-valued stochastic process in r which we denote as M(r). We show that the sequence regarded in this way satisfies the Markov property. We go on to study the asymptotic behavior of M(r) as r, and, borrowing from classical extreme value theory, show that left-tail domain of attraction conditions on the underlying distribution of the sample guarantee weak limits for both the range of M(r) and M(r) itself, after norming and centering. In continuous time, an analogous process Y(r) based on a two-dimensional Poisson process on \(\mathbb {R}_{+}\times \mathbb {R}\) is treated similarly, but we note that the continuous time problems have a distinctive additional feature: there are always infinitely many points below the rth highest point up to time t for any t >?0. We study pointed Hopf algebras of the form U(R Q ), (Faddeev et al., Quantization of Lie groups and Lie algebras. Algebraic Analysis, vol. I, Academic, Boston, MA, pp. 129–139, 1988; Faddeev et al., Quantum groups. Braid group, knot theory and statistical mechanics. Adv. Ser. Math. Phys., vol. 9, World Science, Teaneck, NJ, pp. 97–110, 1989; Larson and Towber, Commun. Algebra 19(12):3295–3345, 1991), where R Q is the Yang–Baxter operator associated with the multiparameter deformation of GL n supplied in Artin et al. (Commun. Pure Appl. Math. 44:8–9, 879–895, 1991) and Sudbery (J. Phys. A, 23(15):697–704, 1990). We show that U(R Q ) is of type A n in the sense of Andruskiewitsch and Schneider (Adv. Math. 154:1–45, 2000; Pointed Hopf algebras. Recent developments in Hopf Algebras Theory, MSRI Series, Cambridge University Press, Cambridge, 2002). We consider the non-negative part of U(R Q ) and show that for two sets of parameters, the corresponding Hopf sub-algebras can be obtained from each other by twisting the multiplication if and only if they possess the same groups of grouplike elements. We exhibit families of finite-dimensional Hopf algebras arising from U(R Q ) with non-isomorphic groups of grouplike elements. We then discuss the case when the quantum determinant is central in A(R Q ) and show that under some assumptions on the group of grouplike elements, two finite-dimensional Hopf algebras U(R Q ), U(R Q) can be obtained from each other by twisting the comultiplication if and only if In the last part we show that U Q is always a quotient of a double crossproduct. Minihypers are substructures of projective spaces introduced to study linear codes meeting the Griesmer bound. Recently, many results in finite geometry were obtained by applying characterization results on minihypers (De Beule et al. 16:342–349, 2008; Govaerts and Storme 4:279–286, 2004; Govaerts et al. 28:659–672, 2002). In this paper, using characterization results on certain minihypers, we present new results on tight sets in classical finite polar spaces and weighted m-covers, and on weighted m-ovoids of classical finite generalized quadrangles. The link with minihypers gives us characterization results of i-tight sets in terms of generators and Baer subgeometries contained in the Hermitian and symplectic polar spaces, and in terms of generators for the quadratic polar spaces. We also present extendability results on partial weighted m-ovoids and partial weighted m-covers, having small deficiency, to weighted m-covers and weighted m-ovoids of classical finite generalized quadrangles. As a particular application, we prove in an alternative way the extendability of 53-, 54-, and 55-caps of PG(5,3), contained in a non-singular elliptic quadric Q(5,3), to 56-caps contained in this elliptic quadric Q(5,3).   相似文献

Let M{\mathcal M} be a σ-finite von Neumann algebra and \mathfrak A{\mathfrak A} a maximal subdiagonal algebra of M{\mathcal M} with respect to a faithful normal conditional expectation F{\Phi} . Based on Haagerup’s noncommutative L p space Lp(M){L^p(\mathcal M)} associated with M{\mathcal M} , we give a noncommutative version of H p space relative to \mathfrak A{\mathfrak A} . If h 0 is the image of a faithful normal state j{\varphi} in L1(M){L^1(\mathcal M)} such that j°F = j{\varphi\circ \Phi=\varphi} , then it is shown that the closure of {\mathfrak Ah0\frac1p}{\{\mathfrak Ah_0^{\frac1p}\}} in Lp(M){L^p(\mathcal M)} for 1 ≤ p < ∞ is independent of the choice of the state preserving F{\Phi} . Moreover, several characterizations for a subalgebra of the von Neumann algebra M{\mathcal M} to be a maximal subdiagonal algebra are given.  相似文献

In this note, we find a monomial basis of the cyclotomic Hecke algebra \({\mathcal{H}_{r,p,n}}\) of G(r,p,n) and show that the Ariki-Koike algebra \({\mathcal{H}_{r,n}}\) is a free module over \({\mathcal{H}_{r,p,n}}\), using the Gröbner-Shirshov basis theory. For each irreducible representation of \({\mathcal{H}_{r,p,n}}\), we give a polynomial basis consisting of linear combinations of the monomials corresponding to cozy tableaux of a given shape.  相似文献

We investigate E*-dense semi\-groups as analogues of E-densesemigroupsfor semigroups with zero. We give a characterisation theorem forE*-dense semigroups whose idempotents form a *-rectangularband. The construction methods of generalised Rees matrix semigroupsare employed to provide examples and illustrations. Our results areanalogous to those of Weipoltshammer for E-dense semigroups.  相似文献
