Analysis of the order parameter for uniform nearest particle system

The uniform nearest particle system (UNPS) is studied, which is a continuoustime Markov process with state space . The rigorous upper bound ^(mf) = ( – 1)/ for the order parameter ₂, is given by the correlation identity and the FKG inequality. Then an improvement of this bound ^(mf) is shown in a similar fashion; C( – 1)/|log( – 1) for >1. Recently, Mountford proved that the critical value _c=1. Combining his result and our improved bound implies that if the critical exponent exists, it is strictly greater than the mean-field value 1 in the weak sense.

二维无限正方格子上的量子3态Potts模型是发生一级相变还是二级相变?通过运用无限纠缠投影对态算法(iPEPS),在进行数值模拟时任意选取初态,能得到二维无限正方格子上的3态Potts模型的三个不同的简并基态波函数,这些简并的情况是由自发对称性破缺引起的.首先,揭示了在二维系统中自发对称性破缺引起的相变可以运用单点基态保真度的分叉来研究,也反映了在二维系统中约化保真度同样有一个分叉行为;再者,还开创性提出了二维系统的普适序参量以及多分量的复数局域序参量的行为来尝试研究二维3态Potts模型,共同确定系统发生的量子相变的临界点及其类型.即基于iPEPS算法,从单点基态保真度、约化保真度、普适序参量以及局域序参量的角度,来研究3态Potts模型的量子相变,其为一级相变.     

Orientational order parameter and rotational viscosity in C60 doped E7 nematic liquid crystal

The reorientational order parameter dependent complex linear susceptibilities are derived based on the angular averaged linear response theory of the molecular polarizability, which includes the Vuks type equations of anisotropic refractive indices and absorbances. The polar angular absorbance at 633 nm wavelength is measured as a function of the concentration of fullerene C₆₀ in E7 nematic liquid crystals (NLCs), from which the order parameter is deduced. It is shown that the order parameter has a linear dependence of dopant concentration. We also present a simple optical transmission method by adopting the closed-aperture Z-scan geometry under the influence of switching on and off the dc electric field to determine the optical relaxation time and the rotational viscosity coefficient of C₆₀ doped E7 NLC. The experimental results are pretty well explained by using the Osipov-Terentjev theory of the rotational viscosity with the measured order parameter.

A convergent nonequilibrium statistical mechanical theory for dense gases. III. Transport coefficients to second order in the density

The purpose of this paper is to obtain general expressions for the second-order terms of the transport coefficients of a dense gas. These expressions are obtained using the convergent kinetic theory proposed recently by Braun and Flores.     

A Remark on General Solution for Motion of Relativistic Strings in Minkowski Space R^（1＋n）

This note concerns the motion of relativistic strings in the Minkowski space R^（1＋n）. We rederive the general solution formula in closed form for the equation for the motion of relativistic string. Our method is different completely from others.     

Mixed-mode solutions in an air-filled differentially heated rotating annulus

We present an analysis of the primary bifurcations that occur in a mathematical model that uses the (three-dimensional) Navier-Stokes equations in the Boussinesq approximation to describe the flows of a near unity Prandtl number fluid (i.e. air) in the differentially heated rotating annulus. In particular, we investigate the double Hopf (Hopf-Hopf) bifurcations that occur along the axisymmetric to non-axisymmetric flow transition. Parameter-dependent centre manifold reduction and normal forms are used to show that in certain regions in parameter space, stable quasiperiodic mixed-azimuthal mode solutions result as a nonlinear interaction of two bifurcating waves with different azimuthal wave numbers. These flows have been called wave dispersion and interference vacillation. The results differ from similar studies of the annulus with a higher Prandtl number fluid (i.e. water). In particular, we show that a decrease in Prandtl number can stabilize these mixed-mode solutions.     

Utilization of TXRF analytical technique in order to improve front-end semiconductor processing

In this paper, we summarize how the introduction of in-line TXRF monitoring provides detailed analytical information on aluminum, titanium and molybdenum contamination levels in order to improve several process steps from front-end processing, minimize product yield loss and make it possible to successfully manufacture multiple products and process geometries in the same fabrication platform.
