It is shown that, when placed in uniform crossed fields, a relativistic charged particle with an initial thermal velocity describes a prolate cycloid. Analytical formulas for the parameters of the relativistic ribbon-shaped beam (velocity straggling, oscillation amplitude, and spatial and time periods) forming in crossed fields are derived without allowance for space charge fields. All the desired parameters can be determined by presetting three initial parameters (beam velocity, magnetic field, and emitting surface area). 相似文献

The dipole radiation of a charged particle moving along a closed fractal trajectory with constant velocity is studied. It is found that the spectrum intensity of the radiation is displaced to the high frequency region when reducing the spatial scale of the fractal trajectory and tends to zero if the trajectory is a true fractal. 相似文献

In this work we extend an analysis due to Visser of the effective propagation of a neutral scalar particle on a brane world scenario which is a particular solution of the five dimensional Einstein-Maxwell equations with cosmological constant having an electric field pointing in the extra spatial dimension. We determine the dispersion relations of a charged scalar particle to first order in a perturbative analysis around those of the neutral particle. Since depending on whether the particle is charged or not the dispersion relations change, we could collect bulk information, namely the presence of the electric field, by studying the 4D dynamics of the particles.It is a pleasure to dedicate this work to Alberto García on the occasion of his 60th birthday. 相似文献

It is demonstrated that the problem of determining the parameters of trajectories of spin particles and beam of rays in the
case of radiation with allowance for polarization is reduced to a variational problem with higher derivatives. It is demonstrated
that in the limit of small values of the curvature and torsion, the higher derivatives can be expressed through the parameters
of the medium. In this case, the curvature and torsion together with the polarization projection onto the trajectory determine
an analog of the 4-potential which in its turn specifies an analog of the electromagnetic field tensor where the projection
of polarization onto the trajectory plays the role of charge for a charged particle. It is demonstrated that the Magnus optical
effect for dissipative solitons is determined not only by helicity σ, but also by topological index m (by the projection of
the orbital soliton momentum onto the soliton trajectory). In an inhomogeneous medium, a relationship between the Magnus optical
effect and nonholonomicity of the field of unit vectors tangent to the trajectory is established. 相似文献

In this paper, we study the basic problem of a charged particle in a stochastic magnetic field. We consider dichotomous fluctuations of the magnetic field where the sojourn time in one of the two states are distributed according to a given waiting-time distribution either with Poisson or non-Poisson statistics, including as well the case of distributions with diverging mean time between changes of the field, corresponding to an ergodicity breaking condition. We provide analytical and numerical results for all cases evaluating the average and the second moment of the position and velocity of the particle. We show that the field fluctuations induce diffusion of the charge with either normal or anomalous properties, depending on the statistics of the fluctuations, with distinct regimes from those observed, e.g., in standard Continuous-Time Random Walk models. 相似文献
