The redistribution of the electronic polarization in deuterium atoms is analyzed theoretically and the various polarization moments are shown to influence the magnetic resonance signal of deuterium. The analysis gives expressions that relate the amplitudes of the magnetic resonance signals for various Zeemann sublevels of the D atom to the electronic and nuclear polarizations of these atoms and their nuclear alignment. Experimental data on the optical orientation and spin exchange in a D-Cs mixture are used to determine the electronic and nuclear orientation and nuclear alignment of the D atoms, which are found to be 〈S z〉=0.1, 〈I z〉=0.27, and 〈Q zz=0.027. The quasi-elastic contribution of the nuclear inclusive electron scattering model developed in [A. Gil, J. Nieves, and E. Oset: Nucl. Phys. A 627 (1997) 543] is extended to the study of electroweak charged current induced nuclear reactions at intermediate energies of interest for future neutrino oscillation experiments. The model accounts for long-range nuclear (RPA) correlations, final state interaction and Coulomb corrections. RPA correlations are shown to play a crucial role in the whole range of neutrino energies, up to 500 MeV, studied in this work. Predictions for inclusive muon capture for different nuclei, and for the reactions 12C(ν μ , μ )X and 12C(ν e, e)X near threshold are also given. Presented by M. Valverde at the Workshop on calculation of double-beta-decay matrix elements (MEDEX’05), Corfu, Greece, September 26–29, 2005.  相似文献

The properties of the density matrix and the multipole moments arising in oriented and aligned atoms with zero nuclear spin through the interaction with strong resonant ultrashort pulses with wave vector k 0 and circular or linear polarization have been found. Calculations have been made for the time-dependent light-induced magnetization μ(t′) of a gas of pre-oriented and prealigned atoms following the passage of a weak resonant elliptically polarized pulse with frequency ω and wave vector k collinear with k 0. It is shown that for oriented atoms, μ(t′) is an even function of the detuning from resonance, ω-ω ba, and can be split into two terms whose directions are a consequence of symmetry and are determined by the vectors k 0 and k as well as by the direction of rotation of the electric fields corresponding to the pulses. For aligned atoms the vector μ(t′) is collinear with k, and the first term is an even function of ω-ω ba. However, the second term is an odd function of ω-ω ba and reverses direction when the sign of ω-ω ba changes, as well as when the orientation of the axes of the polarization ellipse is changed. It is shown that if a series of weak linearly polarized pulses pass through the gas, the light-induced magnetization of the oriented and aligned gas atoms can be decomposed into three factors: the first determines the direction and is a consequence of the symmetry; the second (with the dimensions of magnetic moment) depends on the characteristics of the resonant transitions; and the third is a universal function of t′ and ω-ω ba that does not depend on the underlying characteristics of the resonant transition. These vector factors and the universal functions are in principle different for oriented and aligned atoms. Zh. éksp. Teor. Fiz. 111, 63–92 (January 1997)  相似文献

It is found that over a wide range of temperatures and magnetic fields even a small concentration of magnetic impurities in a sample leads to a T −1 temperature dependence of the nuclear heat capacity. This effect is due to nuclear spin polarization by the magnetic impurities. The parameter that controls the theory turns out not to be the impurity concentration n imp but instead the quantity n imp μ e /μ n , where μ e and μ n are the magnetic moments of an electron and a nucleus, respectively. The ratio of μ e and μ n is of order of 103. Pis’ma Zh. éksp. Teor. Fiz. 66, No. 5, 341–345 (10 September 1997) Published in English in the original Russian journal. The longitudinal nuclear spin relaxation in an effective magnetic field H e3 acting in a triply rotating coordinate system is recorded. Rotating and doubly rotating coordinate systems are employed for strong suppression of the secular nuclear dipole interactions in the first two orders and for separation of higher-order interactions (four-and five-spin). Experiments on protons in polycrystalline benzene showed that the contribution of such multispin dipole interactions to this relaxation can be observed selectively as a pronounced local minimum in the temperature dependence of the relaxation time. This contribution correponds to ultraslow molecular motions with rates ≃ γH e3≃2π(101−103) s−1 and can be employed to study such motions in detail, including for purposes of identification of the form of the motion. The nonadiabatic corrections to the self-energy part Σs(q, ω) of the phonon Green’s function are studied for various values of the phonon vectors q resulting from electron-phonon interactions. It is shown that the long-range electron-electron Coulomb interaction has no direct influence on these effects, aside from a possible renormalization of the corresponding constants. The electronic response functions and Σs(q, ω) are calculated for arbitrary vectors qand energy ω in the BCS approximation. The results obtained for q=0 agree with previously obtained results. It is shown that for large wave numbers q, vertex corrections are negligible and Σs(q, ω) possesses a logarithmic singularity at ω=2Δ, where Δ is the superconducting gap. It is also shown that in systems with nesting, Σs(Q, ω) (where Q is the nesting vector) possesses a square-root singularity at ω=2Δ, i.e., exactly of the same type as at q=0. The results are used to explain the recently published experimental data on phonon anomalies, observed in nickel borocarbides in the superconducting state, at large q. It is shown, specifically, that in these systems nesting must be taken into account in order to account for the emergence of a narrow additional line in the phonon spectral function S(q, ω)≈−π −1 Im D s (q, ω), where D s (q, ω) is the phonon Green’s function, at temperatures T<T c . The lifetime of a negative muon in the 1S state in the isotopes 84Kr and 136Xe was measured. The values obtained, τ(84Kr)=139.2±2.9 ns and τ(136Xe)=111.0±4.6 ns, correspond to total nuclear capture rates Λc(84Kr)=6.75±0.15 μs−1 and Λ c(136Xe)=8.6±0.4 μs−1. Theoretical calculations of the rate of nuclear capture of a negative muon are performed for the Kr isotopes. The experimental results are compared with the theoretical calculations. Pis’ma Zh. éksp. The electric form factor of the neutron GEn has been determined in double polarized exclusive 3 He(e,e'n) scattering in quasi–elastic kinematics by measuring asymmetries A , A of the cross section with respect to helicity reversal of the electron, with the nuclear spin being oriented perpendicular to the momentum transfer q in case of A and parallel in case of A. The experiment was performed at the 855 MeV c. w. microtron MAMI at Mainz. The degree of polarization of the electron beam and of the gaseous 3 He target were each about 50%. Scattered electrons and neutrons were detected in coincidence by detector arrays covering large solid angles. Quasi–elastic scattering events were reconstructed from the measured electron scattering angles ϑe, φe and the neutron momentum vector p n in the plane wave impulse approximation. We obtain the result <G En>(0.27 < Q2c2/GeV2 < 0.5)= 0.0334 ± 0.0033stat± 0.0028syst which is averaged over the indicated range of Q 2, the squared momentum transfer. This G En value is significantly smaller than measured from the D(e,e'n) reaction under similar kinematical conditions. To what extent final state interactions in 3He quench the G En result is subject of calculations currently in progress elsewhere. Received: 29 April 1999  相似文献

Magnetoacoustic resonance on nuclear spin waves is measured in the cubic antiferromagnet RbMnF3. A resonance change with respect to a constant magnetic field H 0 with maximum damping at H 0≈4×103 Oe is observed in the amplitude of an acoustic pulse passing through a sample owing to excitation of nuclear spin waves under nuclear magnetoacoustic resonance conditions. A study of the angular dependence of the damping revealed a 90° periodicity consistent with the fact that the [001] direction, around which the rotation takes place, is a four-fold axis of the crystal. An analysis of the dispersion law for nuclear spin waves shows that longitudinal ultrasound propagating along the [001] axis perpendicular to H 0 excites a branch of nuclear spin waves whose frequency depends on the magnitude of the constant magnetic field. A one parameter quantum deformationS μ L(2,) ofSL(2,) is introduced and investigated. An analog of the Iwasawa decomposition is proved. The compact part of this decomposition coincides withS μ U(2), whereas the solvable part is identified as a Pontryagin dual ofS μ U(2). It shows thatS μ L(2,) is the result of the dual version of Drinfeld's double group construction applied toS μ U(2). The same construction applied to any compact quantum groupG c is discussed in detail. In particular the explicit formulae for the Haar measures on the Pontryagin dualG d ofG c and on the double groupG are given. We show that there exists remarkable 1-1 correspondence between representations ofG and bicovariant bimodules (“tensor bundles”) overG c . The theory of smooth representations ofS μ L(2,) is the same as that ofSL(2,) (Clebsh-Gordon coefficients are however modified). The corresponding “tame” bicovariant bimodules onS μ U(2) are classified. An application to 4D + differential calculus is presented. The nonsmooth case is also discussed.  相似文献

The 2-meter liquid-hydrogen bubble chamber is exposed to a separated beam of α particles from the ITEP synchrotron. The momentum of the incident 4He nuclei, averaged over the fiducial volume of the chamber, is 5 GeV/c (the kinetic energy of initial protons in the nucleus rest frame is T p =620 MeV). The spectral functions of decays αtp and ατn) are extracted in the 4π geometry (the latter is extracted for the first time) from the exclusive reactions αptpp and αpτpn in the spectator momentum region 0<q<0.3 GeV/c. The pole dominance criteria are carefully checked. Extrapolation of the nuclear vertex function to the pole gives a lower bound on the nuclear vertex constant. Our experimental data are compared with the results of other studies and with theoretical calculations. Pis’ma Zh. éksp. Teor. We give a general SU(2) L × SU(2) R × U(1) EM sigma model with external sources, dynamical breaking and spontaneous vacuum symmetry breaking, and present the general formulation of the model. It is found that σ and π0 without electric charges have electromagnetic interaction effects coming from their internal structures. A general Lorentz transformation relative to external sources is derived, using the general Lorentz transformation and the four-dimensional current of nuclear matter of the ground state with J gauge = 0, we give the four-dimensional general relations between the different currents of nuclear matter systems with J gauge≠ 0 and those with J gauge = 0. The relation of the density’s coupling with external magnetic field is derived, which conforms well to dense nuclear matter in a strong magnetic field. We show different condensed effects in strong interaction about fermions and antifermions, and give the concrete scalar and pseudoscalar condensed expressions of σ0 and π0 bosons. About different dynamical breaking and spontaneous vacuum symmetry breaking, the concrete expressions of different mass spectra are obtained in field theory. This paper acquires the running spontaneous vacuum breaking value σ′0, and obtains the spontaneous vacuum breaking in terms of the running σ′0, which make nucleon, σ and π particles gain effective masses. We achieve both the effect of external sources and nonvanishing value of the condensed scalar and pseudoscalar paticles. It is deduced that the masses of nucleons, σ and π generally depend on different external sources. PACA numbers: 24.10.-i, 11.30.Qc  相似文献

The β transition strength function S β(E) is the nuclear excitation energy distribution of moduli squared of the β-decay-type matrix elements. The function S β(E) determines the characteristics of β decay, the spectra of accompanying radiation, and the probabilities of delayed processes following the β decay. Until recently, tools widely used for experimental investigation of the S β(E) structure have been total absorption gamma spectrometers and total absorption gamma-ray spectroscopy (TAGS) which could not provide high energy resolution. Development of experimental techniques allows nuclear spectroscopy methods with high energy resolution to be used for studying the fine structure of S β(E). A thorough investigation of this kind has been carried out for a number of nuclei produced at the YASNAPP-2 facility in Dubna. In this review, studies involving works on measuring the fine structure of S β(E) in spherical and deformed nuclei are analyzed. Modern nuclear spectroscopy methods made it possible to identify the splitting of peaks from nuclear deformation in S β(E) for Gamow-Teller (GT) transitions. The resonance nature of S β(E) for first-forbidden (FF) transitions in both spherical and deformed nuclei is experimentally proven. It is shown that for some nuclear excitation energies, FF transitions can be comparable in intensity with GT transitions. Criteria for verifying the completeness of nuclear decay schemes are considered. The S β(E) functions obtained by TAGS and by the high-resolution spectroscopy are compared.  相似文献

The low-frequency part of the magnetic resonance spectrum of the hexagonal six-sublattice quasi-one-dimensional antiferromagnet CsMnBr3 at temperatures which are low compared with T N =8.3 K is investigated experimentally. A temperature-dependent gap Δ(T) is found in the spectrum ω e (H) of the lower AFMR branch; this gap is due to the hyperfine interaction of the nuclear spins with the electronic spins of the (55Mn)2+ ions. The spectrum of the low-lying resonance frequencies of such a system is calculated taking this interaction into acount in the approximation of fluctuationless spin hydrodynamics for the electronic branch of the oscillations. The computational results are in good qualitative and satisfactory quantitative agreement with experiment. Pis’ma Zh. éksp. Teor. Fiz. 64, No. 6, 433–437 (25 September 1996)  相似文献

The induced gluon radiation of a high-energy quark in a finite-size QCD medium is studied. For a sufficiently energetic quark produced inside a medium we find the radiative energy loss ΔE qL 2, where L is the distance traveled by quark in the medium. It has a weak dependence on the initial quark energy E q. The L 2 dependence turns to L 1 as the quark energy decreases. Numerical calculations are performed for a cold nuclear matter and a hot quark-gluon plasma. For a quark incident on a nucleus we predict ΔE q ≈0.1E q (L/10fm) β , with β close to unity. This paper discusses how an electromagnetic field consisting of a superposition of a constant magnetic field and a field of laser type can affect nuclear beta decay. In general it is not assumed that the intensities of the two types of fields are small compared to the characteristic field H cr*=β 1 H cr, where H cr=m 2 c 3/eℏ and the quantity β 1 depends on the energy liberated in the decay and the configuration of the electromagnetic field. For nonrelativistic decays the quantity β 1 is found to be of the same order as the maximum kinetic energy of an electron referenced to its rest energy β 1I≪1. It is assumed that the frequency of the wave field satisfies ℏω/mc 2I. The behavior of the probability for the process is studied over a wide range of the fundamental parameters that characterize the fields. Corresponding asymptotic expressions are derived in the “weak”-and “strong”-field regimes. Also discussed are so-called interference corrections to the unperturbed decay probability, which cannot in principle be studied by the methods of perturbation theory. It is shown that the times and distances that are important in generating these contributions exceed the parameters of the unperturbed processes, just as in the case of a plane-wave field previously investigated in detail by Nikishov and Ritus. However, in contrast to the case of a pure wave field, when a system is simultaneously subjected to a constant magnetic field and a wave field, the degree to which these characteristic regions are enlarged can depend not only on the intensities of the electromagnetic fields but also on their rates of change, even in the limit in which the wave field is slowly varying. Y1Ba2Cu3O7−x single crystals are investigated near T c ≈92 K in fields 0<H⩽9 kOe using a modified ESR spectrometer. The temperature modulation method is used for the first time, together with the traditional magnetic modulation method, to detect microwave responses in single crystals. Superconducting-transition peaks shifted relative to one another in temperature and differing in shape are observed in the temperature dependence of the corresponding signals ∂R/∂H and ∂R/∂T (R — microwave absorption). The evolution of these peaks as a function of the field and the angle π between H and the c axis of the single crystal is traced. It is shown that the difference in the temperature dependences of the derivatives ∂R/∂H and ∂R/∂T is due to the broadening of the superconducting transition characteristic of HTSCs. Fiz. Tverd. Let f(ϕ) be a positive continuous function on 0 ≤ϕ≤Θ, where Θ≤ 2 π, and let ξ be the number of two-dimensional lattice points in the domain Π R (f) between the curves r=(R+c 1/R)f(ϕ) and r=(R+c 2/R)f(ϕ), where c 1<c 2 are fixed. Randomizing the function f according to a probability law P, and the parameter R according to the uniform distribution μ L on the interval [a 1 L,a 2 L], Sinai showed that the distribution of ξ under P×μ L converges to a mixture of the Poisson distributions as L→∞. Later Major showed that for P-almost all f, the distribution of ξ under μ L converges to a Poisson distribution as L→∞. In this note, we shall give shorter and more transparent proofs to these interesting theorems, at the same time extending the class of P and strengthening the statement of Sinai. We consider advection of a passive scalar θ(t,r) by an incompressible large-scale turbulent flow. In the framework of the Kraichnan model all PDF’s (probability distribution functions) for the single-point statistics of θ and for the passive scalar difference θ(r 1)−θ(r 2) (for separations r 1r 2 lying in the convective interval) are found.
