The influence of Coulomb distortion on the polarization transfer in elastic proton and antiproton electron scattering at low
energies is calculated in a distorted-wave Born approximation. For antiproton electron scattering Coulomb effects reduce substantially
the polarization transfer cross-section compared to the plane-wave Born approximation, whereas for proton electron scattering
they lead to a dramatic increase for kinetic proton lab energies below about 20keV. 相似文献

The beam normal spin asymmetry in elastic electron-nucleon scattering is discussed. This beam normal spin asymmetry depends
on the imaginary part of two-photon exchange processes between electron and nucleon, and measures the non-forward structure
functions of the nucleon. After briefly reviewing the theoretical formalism, we discuss calculations in the threshold region,

We propose a method for polarising antiprotons in a storage ring by means of a polarised positron beam moving parallel to
the antiprotons. If the relative velocity is adjusted to v/c ≈ 0.002 the cross-section for spin-flip is as large as about 2 . 1013 barn as shown by new QED calculations of the triple spin cross-sections. Two possibilities for providing a positron source
with sufficient flux density are presented. A polarised positron beam with a polarisation of 0.70 and a flux density of approximately
1.5 . 1010 /(mm2 s) appears to be feasible by means of a radioactive 11C dc-source. A more involved proposal is the production of polarised positrons by pair production with circularly polarised
photons. It yields a polarisation of 0.76 and requires the injection into a small storage ring. Such polariser sources can
be used at low (100MeV) as well as at high (1GeV) energy storage rings providing a time of about one hour for polarisation
build-up of about 1010 antiprotons to a polarisation of about 0.18. A comparison with other proposals show a gain in the figure of merit by a factor

We discuss coherent and incoherent φ -meson photoproduction off the deuteron at low energy and small momentum transfer with
the aim to check whether the recent experimental data need for their interpretation an inclusion of exotic channels. Our analysis
of the differential cross-section and spin-density matrix elements shows that new data on the γD → φX reaction at E

Polarization observables in inclusive and exclusive electrodisintegration of the deuteron using a polarized beam and an oriented target are systematically surveyed using the standard nonrelativistic framework of nuclear theory but with leading-order relativistic contributions included. The structure functions and the asymmetries corresponding to the various nucleon polarization components are studied in a variety of kinematic regions with respect to their sensitivity to realistic NN-potential models, to subnuclear degrees of freedom in terms of meson exchange currents, isobar configurations and to relativistic effects in different kinematical regions, serving as a benchmark for a test of present standard nuclear theory with effective degrees of freedom. 相似文献

Neutral pion photoproduction has been measured from 550 to 1500 MeV with the GRAAL facility, located at the ESRF in Grenoble.
Differential cross-section and beam asymmetry have been measured over a wide angular range. These high-precision data improve
significantly the database for the beam asymmetry in the second and third resonance regions covering for the first time the
energy domain 1100-1500 MeV. New partial-wave analyses including these data are presented for which the beam asymmetry brings

Beam asymmetry and differential cross-section for the reaction γp → ηp were measured from production threshold to 1500MeV photon laboratory energy. The two dominant neutral decay modes of the
η -meson, η → 2γ and η → 3π0 , were analyzed. The full set of measurements is in good agreement with previously published results. Our data were compared
with three models. They all fit satisfactorily the results but their respective resonance contributions are quite different.
The possible photoexcitation of a narrow state N(1670) was investigated and no evidence was found. 相似文献

Beam asymmetries and hyperon recoil polarizations for the reactions γp → K
+Λ and γp → K
+Σ0 have been measured from the threshold production to 1500MeV with the GRAAL facility located at the ESRF in Grenoble. These
results complement the database for the beam asymmetry, covering for the first time the production threshold region. Recent
theoretical analyses are presented for which the beam asymmetry data bring interesting new information and allow to better
determine some resonance parameters. Most importantly, these results strengthen the need of a new D13 state around 1900MeV. 相似文献

The spectrum of 9He was studied by means of the
8He(d,p)9He reaction at a lab energy of 25 MeV/n and
small center of mass (c.m.) angles. Energy and angular
correlations were obtained for the 9He decay products by
complete kinematical reconstruction.
The data analysis was done in the assumption of a direct one-neutron transfer
reaction
mechanism. The 9He structure was analysed in the framework of a simple
single-particle model.
The lowest resonant state of 9He is found at about 2 MeV with a width of ∼2MeV and is identified as 1/2-. The
observed angular correlation pattern is uniquely explained by the
interference of the 1/2- resonance with a virtual state 1/2+
(a limit on the scattering length is obtained as a
> -20fm), and with a 5/2+ resonance at energy ≥4.2MeV. 相似文献

The sensitivities of the one-spin and two-spin polarization observables for p+ˉp→P0+V0, with P0=π0, η,η′ and V0=ρ,ω,φ, based on the triplet enhancement hypothesis for strangeness production in pˉp collisions are analyzed. The analysis
is carried out under special kinematical conditions where the P0 meson production angle in the CMS is equal to π/2, for which C-invariance of strong interactions reduces the number of independent
amplitudes to three.

Ground-state magnetic-dipole moments (μ) of 30-32Al and
electric quadrupole moments (Q) of 31,32Al have been measured
with the β-NMR method using spin-polarized radioactive-isotope
beams produced in projectile-fragmentation reactions. Beams of
30-32Al were obtained by using RIKEN projectile-fragment
separator RIPS after the fragmentation of 40Ar projectiles at an
energy of E = 95A MeV on a 93Nb target. The obtained
μexp[30-32Al] and
values agree well with shell-model calculations within the sd
shell using the USD interaction. Also, Qexp[31Al]
was found to be small. Thus, we can conclude that these aluminum

Meson photoproduction with polarized photons has proved to be a powerful tool to identify contributions of baryon resonances
that are not evident in the differential cross-sections. It provides information that are complementary to those extracted
using pion-nucleon scattering data. Extensive results have been produced in the past on beam asymmetries by the Graal collaboration
for η and π
0 on the proton. New results are now available for the same reactions on the quasi-free neutron and for the K+ photoproduction on the proton. Contributions from hitherto undetected baryon resonances may be important to understand the

We have constructed a polarized proton solid target system for
radioactive nuclear beam experiments at the Center for Nuclear Study,
the University of Tokyo. The proton polarization is based on an electron
population difference in a photo-excited triplet state of pentacene
molecule. The target system was completed in 2003 and applied to a
RI beam experiment in 2003 and 2005 by using the projectile fragment
separator, RIPS at RIKEN. The maximum polarization reached
20% under the condition of T=100 K and B=0.09 T.
Overview of the polarized target and its application in physics

The formalism of ( γ,
NN) reactions is given where the incident photon is polarized and the outgoing-nucleon polarization is detected. Sixteen structure
functions and fifteen polarization observables are found in the general case, while only eight structure functions and seven
polarization observables survive in coplanar kinematics. Numerical examples are presented for the 16O(γ, np) and 16O(γ, pp) reactions. The transitions to the ground state of 14C and 14N are calculated in a model where realistic short-range and tensor correlations are taken into account for the np pair, while short-range and long-range correlations are included in a consistent way for pp pairs. The effects of the one-body and two-body components of the nuclear current and the role of correlations in cross-sections
and polarizations are studied and discussed.

We perform a global analysis of the experimental data of the electromagnetic nucleon form factors, in space-like and time-like regions. We give the expressions of the observables in annihilation processes, such as p + ¯↦ℓ+ + ℓ-, ℓ = e or μ, in terms of form factors. We discuss some of the phenomenological models proposed in the literature for the space-like region, and consider their analytical continuation to the time-like region. Hyperon production off the proton in the K
0Σ+ channel has been studied at the tagged-photon beam facility at the ELSA electron accelerator in Bonn. This experiment was
part of a series of neutral meson production experiments on various targets. For this purpose, the Crystal Barrel and TAPS
photon spectrometers have been combined to provide a 4π detector for multi-neutral-particle final states. A high-quality excitation
function, recoil polarizations, and angular distributions from threshold up to 2.3GeV center-of-mass energy were obtained.
The results are compared with predictions of recent coupled-channel calculations within the K -matrix formalism and are interpreted by the partial-wave analysis within the Bonn-Gatchina model. 相似文献
