We demonstrate a high-power nonlinear mirror (NLM) mode-locked Nd:YVO4 laser with a periodically poled KTP (PPKTP). With a 10-mm-long PPKTP crystal, 5.6 W of average power with 20-ps of pulse duration was generated at 18-W of pump power. Compared with conventional type-II KTP crystal with the same length, the stability against the Q-switched mode-locking (QML) is significantly increased with PPKTP in NLM laser; and the pulse duration was also considerably reduced. A compact high power diode-pumped passively mode-locked Nd:YVO_4 laser with high repetition rate is realized.Using an Nd:YVO_4 crystal and a semiconductor saturable absorber mirror(SESAM) in the oscillator, the picosecond pulse output with an average power of 1.38 W, a repetition rate of 3.24 GHz, and a pulse duration of 11.4 ps is achieved. After one stage of amplification, the final output power reaches 11.34 W, corresponding to a total optical-to-optical efficiency of about 32%. The root mean square(RMS) value of power fluctuation is demonstrated to be less than 0.6% in 24 hours, showing a superior stability with the compact configuration.  相似文献

We demonstrate the operation of an ultralow-repetition-rate, high-peak-power, picosecond diode-pumped Nd:YVO4 passively mode-locked laser oscillator. Repetition rates lower than 1 MHz were achieved with the use of a new design for a multiple-pass cavity and a semiconductor saturable absorber. Long-term stable operation at 1.2 MHz with a pulse duration of 16.3 ps and an average output power of 470 mW, corresponding to 24-kW peak-power pulses, is reported. These are to our knowledge the lowest-repetition-rate high-peak-power pulses ever generated directly from apicosecond laser resonator without cavity dumping.  相似文献

We experimentally demonstrate the operation of a passively mode-locked Raman fiber ring laser with an ultrahigh repetition rate of 100 GHz and up to 430 mW of average output power. This laser constitutes a simple wavelength versatile pulsed optical source. Stable mode locking is based on dissipative four-wave mixing with a single fiber Bragg grating acting as the mode-locking element.  相似文献

We demonstrate what is to our knowledge the first mode-locked Nd:YVO4 laser operating on the 4F3/2-4I9/2 transition at 914 nm. Using a semiconductor saturable-absorber mirror for passive mode locking, we have obtained 3-ps pulses at a repetition rate of 233.8 MHz. The laser is based on a standard delta cavity and is pumped by a Ti:sapphire laser. We obtained an average output power of 42 mW through one mirror and an accumulated output power of approximately 150 mW (through all cavity mirrors) at a pump power of 1.4 W.  相似文献

In this paper, we present a laser-diode (LD) bar end-pumped Nd:YVO4 slab laser, which uses a simple coupling system and a compact quasi-concentric resonator (QCR). A TEM00 output was obtained with a pump width varied from 2.57 to 9.44 mm and the slope efficiency is kept at about 48%. Under 40-W pumping, a maximum TEM00 output of 15.84 W was achieved and the optical-to-optical efficiency was 39.6% correspondingly.  相似文献

A effective continuous-wave (CW), high power laser generated using a YVO4/Nd:YVO4 composite crystal is presented. 18.8 W output power in multi-mode has been achieved with a maximum absorbed pump power of 31.2 W, corresponding to an optical-to-optical efficiency of 60.26%. In TEM00 mode operation, 15.1 W output power also has been achieved with the maximum absorbed pump power of 31.2 W, corresponding to an optical-to-optical efficiency of 47.69%. With a 200 mm focal-length positive lens and using the moving knife-edge method, the beam quality factor is measured to be M2 = 1.2 for TEM00 mode beam.  相似文献

We present a high-power 1.53 μm laser based on intracavity KTA-OPO driven by diode-end-pumped acousto-optical Q-switched YVO4/Nd:YVO4 composite. The composite crystal was utilized for reducing the thermal effect, and the mode mismatch compensating OPO cavity was designed for efficient OPO conversion. The output power of eye-safe laser at 1535 nm was up to 4.4 W with the pump power of 27 W, corresponding to a diode-to-signal conversion efficiency of 16.3%. To our knowledge, this is the highest output power in diode-end-pumped circumstances. In the experiment, the strong yellow light generated by Raman conversion and frequency doubling in the KTA crystal was observed.  相似文献

We demonstrate a compact and efficient diode-end-pumped TEM>(00) laser with output power of 30 W for 48 W of incident pump power by use of two coated Nd:YVO> (4) crystals to form a thermally stabilized flat-flat cavity. In Q -switched operation 25 W of average power at a pulse-repetition rate of 100 kHz and ~0.9-mJ pulse energy at a pulse-repetition rate of 10 kHz were produced.  相似文献

We demonstrate, for the first time, to our knowledge, a diode-pumped passively mode-locked Nd:YVO4 laser, operating on the 4F(3/2)-4I(9/2) transition of the neodymium ion at 914 nm. We obtained 8.8 ps pulses at approximately 914 nm at a repetition rate of 94 MHz, and an averaged output power of 87 mW by using a semiconductor saturable absorber mirror.  相似文献

We demonstrate a high-power passively Q -switched and mode-locked Nd:YVO(4) laser with a Cr(4+):YAG saturable absorber. 2.7 W of average power with an 18-kHz Q -switched repetition rate was generated at a 12.5-W pump power. The peak power of a single pulse near the maximum of the Q -switched envelope was greater than 100 kW.  相似文献

We present a CW intracavity frequency-doubled TEM(00) Nd:YVO(4) laser oscillator pumped at 888 nm, producing 62W of green light at 532 nm with M(2)=1.05 and RMS noise of 0.05%, thanks to the simultaneous oscillation of a large number of longitudinal modes. A diode-to-green optical efficiency of 29% is achieved by the use of a noncritically phase-matched lithium triborate crystal inserted in a periodic resonator containing two Nd:YVO(4) crystals pumped with a total of 211W at 888 nm.  相似文献

We demonstrated a diode-pumped passively Q-switched mode-locked Nd:YVO4 laser by using a relaxed saturable Bragg reflector (SBR). Stable mode-locked pulse train with the repetition rate of ~230 MHz was achieved and the pulse train was modulated by the Q-switched envelope with the repetition rate of ~150 kHz. The maximum output of 4 W was obtained under the pump power of 13.5 W. The optical-to-optical efficiency was 30%. We also discussed the transition of each process having emerged.  相似文献

We report on a compact and highly efficient diode-end-pumped TEM00 Nd:YVO4 slab laser with an output power of 103 W and beam quality M2 < or = 1.5. The optical-to-optical efficiency was 41.5%. In electro-optically Q-switched operation, 83 W of average power at a pulse-repetition rate of 50 kHz with a pulse length of 11.3 ns was obtained. At a pulse-repetition rate of 10 kHz, 5.6 mJ of pulse energy, and 870 kW of peak power were measured.  相似文献

A compact and efficient diode-pumped acousto-optically Q -switched intracavity frequency-doubled Nd:Y VO(4)/KTP green laser is demonstrated. With 0.5-at. % Nd:Y VO(4), greater than 4.6 W of 532-nm average power at a repetition rate of 50 kHz was generated with 17-W pump power, corresponding to a conversion efficiency of 27%. At 10-30 kHz the pulse width is shorter than 10 ns, and the peak power is higher than 13 kW.  相似文献

We report on a high-pulse-energy 888 nm diode-pumped passively mode-locked TEM00 Nd:YVO4 oscillator without spatial hole burning (SHB) effect in active medium. At a pump power of 40 W, the oscillator produced pulse energy up to 270 nJ at a repetition rate of 50 MHz, corresponding to average power of 13.5W with 34% optical-to-optical efficiency. To the best of our knowledge, it is the highest pulse energy obtained at the same pump power. The pulse duration produced varied from 16 to 59 ps. By varying the pump power, we observed a pulse duration ranging from 52 to 59 ps while the time-bandwidth product remained 0.88, and the factors that affect the pulse duration were also discussed. Meanwhile, a novel method of adjusting output coupling (OC) was introduced, which can simplify the structure of laser.  相似文献

We demonstrate a high-power passively mode-locked Nd:YVO (4) laser that uses a saturable Bragg reflector (SBR) with strain relaxation. 23.5 W of average power with ~21.5-ps cw mode-locked pulse trains was generated at a 50-W pump power. Experimental results show that appropriate strain relaxation in the SBR makes the mode-locking operation less sensitive to temperature variation.  相似文献

High-power diode-pumped picosecond Nd(3+):YVO(4) laser   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
A diode-pumped Nd(3+):YVO(4) laser passively mode locked by a nonlinear mirror based on second-harmonic generation has been developed. Pumping with a fiber-coupled 10-W diode array, we generated nearly diffraction limited, linearly polarized 11-ps pulses at 1064nm, with average power of 2.7 W at a 150-MHz repetition rate. Pulses as short as 7.9 ps were measured with reduced output power (1.35 W) by optimal focusing in the nonlinear crystal.  相似文献

We report on an 888 nm pumped passively mode-locked TEM(00)Nd:YVO(4) oscillator providing 56 W of average power at a repetition rate of 110 MHz with 33 ps pulse duration, further amplified to 111 W in a 52% optical efficiency single-pass amplifier stage, maintaining beam quality at M(2)=1.05. Frequency doubling in a LiB(3)O(5) crystal generated up to 87 W at 532 nm, while a third harmonic power of 35 W was achieved in a nonoptimized tripling configuration, corresponding to 80% and 33% conversion efficiency.  相似文献

We report two kinds of compact and efficient diode-end-pumped TEM00 lasers with output power >25 W at ≈50 W of incident pump power. One laser consists of a single 0.3 at. % Nd:YVO4 crystal in a V-type cavity, the other laser includes two 0.5 at. % Nd:YVO4 crystals in a linear cavity. Experimental results show that lowering Nd3+ concentration can be beneficial in extending the fracture-limited pump power but it also increases the sensitivity of the pump wavelength due to the overlapping efficiency.
