The Hardy spaces H2(D2) can be conveniently viewed as a module over the polynomial ring C[z1,z2]. Submodules of H2(D2) have connections with many areas of study in operator theory. A large amount of research has been carried out striving to understand the structure of submodules under certain equivalence relations. Unitary equivalence is a well-known equivalence relation in set of submodules. However, the rigidity phenomenon discovered in [Douglas et al., Algebraic reduction and rigidity for Hilbert modules, Amer. J. Math. 117 (1) (1995) 75-92] and some other related papers suggests that unitary equivalence, being extremely sensitive to perturbations of zero sets, lacks the flexibility one might need for a classification of submodules. In this paper, we suggest an alternative equivalence relation, namely congruence. The idea is motivated by a symmetry and stability property that the core operator possesses. The congruence relation effectively classifies the submodules with a finite rank core operator. Near the end of the paper, we point out an essential connection of the core operator with operator model theory.  相似文献

Let X be an operator space, let φ be a product on X, and let (X,φ) denote the algebra that one obtains. We give necessary and sufficient conditions on the bilinear mapping φ for the algebra (X,φ) to have a completely isometric representation as an algebra of operators on some Hilbert space. In particular, we give an elegant geometrical characterization of such products by using the Haagerup tensor product. Our result makes no assumptions about identities or approximate identities. Our proof is independent of the earlier result of Blecher, Ruan and Sinclair [D.P. Blecher, Z.-J. Ruan, A.M. Sinclair, A characterization of operator algebras, J. Funct. Anal. 89 (1) (1990) 188-201] which solved the case when the bilinear mapping has an identity of norm one, and our result is used to give a simple direct proof of this earlier result. We also develop further the connections between quasi-multipliers of operator spaces and their representations on a Hilbert space or their embeddings in the second dual, and show that the quasi-multipliers of operator spaces defined in [M. Kaneda, V.I. Paulsen, Quasi-multipliers of operator spaces, J. Funct. Anal. 217 (2) (2004) 347-365] coincide with their C-algebraic counterparts.  相似文献

We prove Poisson upper bounds for the kernel (Kt)t>0(Kt)t>0 of the semigroup generated by the Dirichlet-to-Neumann operator if the underlying domain is bounded and has a CC-boundary. We also prove Poisson bounds for KzKz for all z in the right half-plane and for all its derivatives.  相似文献

Matrix ordered operator spaces are ‘non-commutative Banach spaces equipped with a non-commutative order’. Examples include C*-algebras as well as their duals. In this article, we define and intrinsically characterize the multiplier algebra for this class of spaces and briefly tackle the problem of extending K-theory to this context.  相似文献

This paper is devoted to the question to obtain (algebraic and topologic) equivalence (after extension) relations between convolution type operators on unions of intervals and convolution type operators on the half-line. These operators are supposed to act between Bessel potential spaces,H s,p , which are the appropriate spaces in several applications. The present approach is based upon special properties of convenient projectors, decompositions and extension operators and the construction of certain homeomorphisms between the kernels of the projectors. The main advantage of the method is that it provides explicit operator matrix identities between the mentioned operators where the relations are constructed only by bounded invertible operators. So they are stronger than the (algebraic) Kuijper-Spitkovsky relation and the Bastos-dos Santos-Duduchava relation with respect to the transfer of properties on the prize that the relations depend on the orders of the spaces and hold only for non-critical orders:S – 1/p . For instance, (generalized) inverses of the operators are explicitly represented in terms of operator matrix factorization. We answer, by counterexample, several questions concerning algebras of operators on a Hilbert space. The answers add further weight to the thesis that, for many purposes, such algebras ought to be studied in the framework of operator spaces, as opposed to that of Banach spaces and Banach algebras. In particular, the ‘nonselfadjoint analogue’ of a w*-algebra resides naturally in the category of dual operator spaces, as opposed to dual Banach spaces. We also show that an automatic w*-continuity result in the preceding paper of the authors, is sharp.  相似文献

In this paper parameter-dependent partial differential operators are investigated which satisfy the condition of N-ellipticity with parameter, an ellipticity condition formulated with the use of the Newton polygon. For boundary value problems with general boundary operators we define N-ellipticity including an analogue of the Shapiro-Lopatinskii condition. It is show that the boundary value problem is N-elliptic if and only if an a priori estimate with respect to certain parameter-dependent norms holds. Following the recent progress in understanding the abstract setting for Friedrichs symmetric positive systems by Ern, Guermond and Caplain (2007) [8], as well as Antoni? and Burazin (2010) [3], an attempt is made to relate these results to the classical Friedrichs theory.A comparison of two approaches, via the trace operator and the boundary operator, has been made, favouring the latter. Finally, a particular set of sufficient conditions for a boundary matrix field to define a boundary operator in that case is given, and the applicability of this procedure in realistic situations is shown by examples.  相似文献

We study convolution operators in Bessel potential spaces and (fractional) Sobolev spaces over a finite interval. The main purpose of the investigation is to find conditions on the convolution kernel or on a Fourier symbol of these operators under which the solutions inherit higher regularity from the data. We provide conditions which ensure the transmission property for the finite interval convolution operators between Bessel potential spaces and Sobolev spaces. These conditions lead to smoothness preserving properties of operators defined in the above-mentioned spaces where the kernel, cokernel and, therefore, indices do not depend on the order of differentiability. In the case of invertibility of the finite interval convolution operator, a representation of its inverse is presented in terms of the canonical factorization of a related Fourier symbol matrix function.  相似文献

For an operator bimodule X over von Neumann algebras A⊆B(H) and B⊆B(K), the space of all completely bounded A,B-bimodule maps from X into B(K,H), is the bimodule dual of X. Basic duality theory is developed with a particular attention to the Haagerup tensor product over von Neumann algebras. To X a normal operator bimodule Xn is associated so that completely bounded A,B-bimodule maps from X into normal operator bimodules factorize uniquely through Xn. A construction of Xn in terms of biduals of X, A and B is presented. Various operator bimodule structures are considered on a Banach bimodule admitting a normal such structure.  相似文献

In this paper operator pencilsA(x, D, ) are studied which act on a manifold with boundary and satisfy the condition of N-ellipticity with parameter, a generalization of the notion of ellipticity with parameter as introduced by Agmon and Agranovich-Vishik. Sobolev spaces corresponding to the Newton polygon are defined and investigated; in particular it is possible to describe their trace spaces.
