We study a system of 3D Navier-Stokes equations in a two-layer parallelepiped-like domain with an interface coupling of the velocities and mixed (free/periodic) boundary condition on the external boundary. The system under consideration can be viewed as a simplified model describing some features of the mesoscale interaction of the ocean and atmosphere. In case when our domain is thin (of order ε), we prove the global existence of the strong solutions corresponding to a large set of initial data and forcing terms (roughly, of order ε−2/3). We also give some results concerning the large time dynamics of the solutions. In particular, we prove a spatial regularity of the global weak attractor.  相似文献

In this article we consider the weakly damped focusing nonlinear Schrödinger equations on bounded domains at the natural H1-energy level with Dirichlet control acting on a portion of the boundary. We introduce the dynamic extension method for homogenizing the inhomogeneous boundary input. Then, we construct approximate solutions using monotone operator theory. A hidden trace regularity is proved to control the norm of the solutions in a global sense. This allows the use of compactness techniques by which we prove the existence of weak solutions. Finally, using multiplier techniques, we prove the exponential decay of solutions under the assumption that the boundary control also decays in a similar fashion.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider one-dimensional compressible isentropic Navier-Stokes equations with the viscosity depending on density and with the free boundary. The viscosity coefficient μ is proportional to ρθ with θ>0, where ρ is the density. The existence, uniqueness, regularity of global weak solutions in H1([0,1]) have been established by Xin and Yao in [Z. Xin, Z. Yao, The existence, uniqueness and regularity for one-dimensional compressible Navier-Stokes equations, preprint]. Furthermore, under certain assumptions imposed on the initial data, we improve the regularity result obtained in [Z. Xin, Z. Yao, The existence, uniqueness and regularity for one-dimensional compressible Navier-Stokes equations, preprint] by driving some new a priori estimates.  相似文献

We investigate a model arising from biology, which is a hyperbolic- parabolic coupled system. First, we prove the global existence and asymptotic behavior of smooth solutions to the Cauchy problem without any smallness assumption on the initial data. Second, if the Hs ∩ Ll-norm of initial data is sufficiently small, we also establish decay rates of the global smooth solutions. In particular, the optimal L2 decay rate of the solution and the almost optimal L2 decay rate of the first-order derivatives of the solution are obtained. These results are obtained by constructing a new nonnegative convex entropy and combining spectral analysis with energy methods.  相似文献

In this paper we are concerned with the differential system proposed by Shliomis to describe the motion of an incompressible ferrofluid submitted to an external magnetic field. The system consists of the Navier-Stokes equations, the magnetization equations and the magnetostatic equations. No regularizing term is added to the magnetization equations. We prove the local existence of unique strong solution for the Cauchy problem and establish a finite time blow-up criterion of strong solutions. Under the smallness assumption of the initial data and the external magnetic field, we prove the global existence of strong solutions and derive a decay rate of such small solutions in L2-norm.  相似文献

This paper studies the pullback asymptotic behavior of solutions for a non-autonomous incompressible non-Newtonian fluid in two-dimensional (2D) bounded domains. We first prove the existence of pullback attractors AV in space V (has H2-regularity, see notation in Section 2) and AH in space H (has L2-regularity) for the cocycle corresponding to the solutions of the fluid. Then we verify the regularity of the pullback attractors by showing AV=AH, which implies the pullback asymptotic smoothing effect of the fluid in the sense that the solutions become eventually more regular than the initial data.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the nonlinearly damped semi-linear wave equation associated with initial and Dirichlet boundary conditions. We prove the existence of a local weak solution and introduce a family of potential wells and discuss the invariants and vacuum isolating behavior of solutions. Furthermore, we prove the global existence of solutions in both cases which are polynomial and exponential decay in the energy space respectively, and the asymptotic behavior of solutions for the cases of potential well family with 0相似文献

We study the unsaturated case of the Richards equation in three space dimensions with Dirichlet boundary data. We first establish an a priori L-estimate. With its help, by means of a fixed point argument we prove global in time existence of a unique weak solution in Sobolev spaces. Finally, we are able to improve the regularity of this weak solution in order to gain a strong one.  相似文献

Global Solutions of Nonlinear Magnetohydrodynamics with Large Initial Data   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
A free boundary problem for nonlinear magnetohydrodynamics with general large initial data is investigated. The existence, uniqueness, and regularity of global solutions are established with large initial data in H1. It is shown that neither shock waves nor vacuum and concentration in the solutions are developed in a finite time, although there is a complex interaction between the hydrodynamic and magnetodynamic effects. An existence theorem of global solutions with large discontinuous initial data is also established.  相似文献

We prove the existence of a global “small” weak solution to the flow of the H-system with initial–boundary conditions. We also analyze its time asymptotic behavior. Finally we give a stability result for weak solutions to the heat flow of higher dimensional H-systems.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with a system of nonlinear wave equations with supercritical interior and boundary sources and subject to interior and boundary damping terms. It is well-known that the presence of a nonlinear boundary source causes significant difficulties since the linear Neumann problem for the single wave equation is not, in general, well-posed in the finite-energy space H 1(Ω) × L 2(?Ω) with boundary data from L 2(?Ω) (due to the failure of the uniform Lopatinskii condition). Additional challenges stem from the fact that the sources considered in this article are non-dissipative and are not locally Lipschitz from H 1(Ω) into L 2(Ω) or L 2(?Ω). With some restrictions on the parameters in the system and with careful analysis involving the Nehari Manifold, we obtain global existence of a unique weak solution and establish (depending on the behavior of the dissipation in the system) exponential and algebraic uniform decay rates of energy. Moreover, we prove a blow-up result for weak solutions with nonnegative initial energy.  相似文献

We study the initial value problem for the generalized Boussinesq equation and prove existence of local and global solutions with singular initial data in weak-Lp spaces. Our class of initial data for global existence is larger than that of Cho and Ozawa (2007) [7]. Long time behavior results are obtained and a scattering theory is proved in that framework. With more structure, we show Sobolev H1 and Lorentz-type L(p,q) regularity properties for the obtained solutions. The approach employed is unified for all dimensions n?1.  相似文献

We study a full Maxwell's system accompanied with a non-linear degenerate boundary condition, which represents a generalization of the classical Silver-Müller condition for a non-perfect conductor. The relationship between the normal components of electric E and magnetic H field obeys the following power law ν×H=ν×(|E×ν|α−1E×ν) for some α∈(0,1]. We establish the existence and uniqueness of a weak solution in a suitable function spaces under the minimal regularity assumptions on the boundary Γ and the initial data E0 and H0. We design a non-linear time discrete approximation scheme and prove convergence of the approximations to a weak solution. We also derive the error estimates for the time discretization. As a next step we study the fully discrete problem using curl-conforming edge elements and derive the corresponding error estimates. Finally we present some numerical experiments.  相似文献

The viscosity coefficient μ is proportional to ρθ with 0<θ<1, where ρ is the density. The existence and uniqueness of global weak solutions in H1([0,1]) have been established in [S. Jiang, Z. Xin, P. Zhang, Global weak solutions to 1D compressible isentropic Navier-Stokes equations with density-dependent viscosity, Methods Appl. Anal. 12 (2005) 239-252]. We will establish the regularity of global solution under certain assumptions imposed on the initial data by deriving some new a priori estimates.  相似文献

The asymptotic behavior of solutions of the three-dimensional Navier-Stokes equations is considered on bounded smooth domains with no-slip boundary conditions and on periodic domains. Asymptotic regularity conditions are presented to ensure that the convergence of a Leray-Hopf weak solution to its weak ω-limit set (weak in the sense of the weak topology of the space H of square-integrable divergence-free velocity fields with the appropriate boundary conditions) are achieved also in the strong topology. It is proved that the weak ω-limit set is strongly compact and strongly attracts the corresponding solution if and only if all the solutions in the weak ω-limit set are continuous in the strong topology of H. Corresponding results for the strong convergence towards the weak global attractor of Foias and Temam are also presented. In this case, it is proved that the weak global attractor is strongly compact and strongly attracts the weak solutions, uniformly with respect to uniformly bounded sets of weak solutions, if and only if all the global weak solutions in the weak global attractor are strongly continuous in H.  相似文献

We consider a prototype reaction-diffusion system which models a network of two consecutive reactions in which chemical components A and B form an intermediate C which decays into two products P and Q. Such a situation often occurs in applications and in the typical case when the intermediate is highly reactive, the species C is eliminated from the system by means of a quasi-steady-state approximation. In this paper, we prove the convergence of the solutions in L2, as the decay rate of the intermediate tends to infinity, for all bounded initial data, even in the case of initial boundary layers. The limiting system is indeed the one which results from formal application of the QSSA. The proof combines the recent L2-approach to reaction-diffusion systems having at most quadratic reaction terms, with local L-bounds which are independent of the decay rate of the intermediate. We also prove existence of global classical solutions to the initial system.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the existence and general energy decay rate of global solutions for nondissipative distributed systems
$$u''-\triangle u+h(\nabla u)=0$$
with boundary frictional and memory dampings and acoustic boundary conditions. For the existence of solutions, we prove the global existence of weak solution by using Faedo–Galerkin’s method and compactness arguments. For the energy decay rate, we first consider the general nonlinear case of h satisfying a smallness condition and prove the general energy decay rate by using perturbed modified energy method. Then, we consider the linear case of h: \({h(\nabla u)=-\nabla\phi\cdot\nabla u}\) and prove the general decay estimates of equivalent energy.

This paper is devoted to Stokes and Navier–Stokes problems with non‐standard boundary conditions: we consider, in particular, the case where the pressure is given on a part of the boundary. These problems were studied by Bégue, Conca, Murat and Pironneau. They proved the existence of variational solutions, indicating that these were solutions of the initial non‐standard problems, if they are regular enough, but without specifying the conditions on the data which would imply this regularity. In this paper, first we show that the variational solutions, on supposing pressure on the boundary Γ2 of regularity H1/2 instead of H?1/2, have their Laplacians in L2 and, therefore, are solutions of non‐standard Stokes problem. Next, we give a result of regularity H2, which we generalize, obtaining regularities Wm, r, m∈?, m?2, r?2. Finally, by a fixed‐point argument, we prove analogous results for the Navier–Stokes problem, in the case where the viscosity νis large compared to the data. In this paper we derive some new equations and we call them MHD-Leray-alpha equations which are similar to the MHD equations. We put forward the concept of weak and strong solutions for the new equations. Whether the 3-dimensional MHD equations have a unique weak solution is unknown, however, there is a unique weak solution for the 3-dimensional MHD-Leray-alpha equations. The global existence of strong solution and the Gevrey class regularity for the new equations are also obtained. Furthermore, we prove that the solutions of the MHD-Leray-alpha equations converge to the solution of the MHD equations in the weak sense as the parameter ε in the new equations converges to zero.  相似文献

We study the Cauchy problem for the generalized IBq equation with hydrodynamical damped term in n-dimensional space. We observe that the dissipative structure of the linearized equation is of the regularity-loss type. This means that we have the optimal decay estimates of solutions under the additional regularity assumption on the initial data. Under smallness condition on the initial data, we prove the global existence and decay of the small amplitude solution in the Sobolev space.  相似文献
