The generalized variational principle of Herglotz type provides a variational method for describing nonconservative or dissipative processes. The purpose of this letter is to extend this variational principle to a first order linear nonholonomic system and study the conservation laws of the nonconservative nonholonomic system based on Herglotz variational problem. A new differential variational principle of the nonconservative nonholonomic system is proposed, which is based on Herglotz variational problem. And the differential equations of motion of the system are also obtained. Then, according to the condition for the invariance of the differential variational principle, the conservation theorem based on Herglotz variational problem for the nonconservative nonholonomic system are obtained. The theorem contains the conservation theorem of the nonconservative holonomic system as its special case, which can be reduced to the first Noether's theorem based on Herglotz variational problem under proper conditions. The inverse theorem of the conservation theorem is also provided and proved. An example is given to illustrate the application at the end of this letter.  相似文献

依据定量因果原理的数学表示,统一地导出了Lagrange量中含坐标关于时间一阶、二阶导数 的积分型的Hamilton原理、Voss原理、Hlder原理和Maupertuis-Lagrange原理等,给出了 这些原理的本质联系和统一描述.得出f0=0并不是通常的保持Euler-Lagrange方 程不 变的结果,而是满足定量因果原理的结果.还得出Lagrange量的所有的积分型变分原理等价 地对应于两类满足定量因果原理的不变形式.同时发现所有积分型变分原理的运动方程都是E uler-Lagrange 方程,但不同条件的变分原理所对应的不同群G作用下的守恒量是不同 的.从而可对过去众多零散的积分型变分原理有一个系统和深入的理解,并使这些变分原理 自然地成为定量因果原理的推论. 关键词: 变分原理 因果原理 运动方程 对称性  相似文献

Non-perturbative polaron variational methods are applied, within the so-called particle or world-line representation of relativistic field theory, to study scattering in the context of the scalar Wick-Cutkosky model. Important features of the variational calculation are that it is a controlled approximation scheme valid for arbitrary coupling strengths, the Green functions have all the cuts and poles expected for the exact result at any order in perturbation theory and that the variational parameters are simultaneously sensitive to the infrared as well as the ultraviolet behaviour of the theory. We generalize the previously used quadratic trial action by allowing more freedom for off-shell propagation without a change in the on-shell variational equations and evaluate the scattering amplitude at first order in the variational scheme. Particular attention is paid to the s-channel scattering near threshold because here non-perturbative effects can be large. We check the unitarity of a our numerical calculation and find it greatly improved compared to perturbation theory and to the zeroth order variational results.  相似文献

In this work, a framework to boost the efficiency of Bayesian inference in probabilistic models is introduced by embedding a Markov chain sampler within a variational posterior approximation. We call this framework “refined variational approximation”. Its strengths are its ease of implementation and the automatic tuning of sampler parameters, leading to a faster mixing time through automatic differentiation. Several strategies to approximate evidence lower bound (ELBO) computation are also introduced. Its efficient performance is showcased experimentally using state-space models for time-series data, a variational encoder for density estimation and a conditional variational autoencoder as a deep Bayes classifier.  相似文献

The implications of the general covariance principle for the establishment of a Hamiltonian variational formulation of classical General Relativity are addressed. The analysis is performed in the framework of the Einstein-Hilbert variational theory. Preliminarily, customary Lagrangian variational principles are reviewed, pointing out the existence of a novel variational formulation in which the class of variations remains unconstrained. As a second step, the conditions of validity of the non-manifestly covariant ADM variational theory are questioned. The main result concerns the proof of its intrinsic non-Hamiltonian character and the failure of this approach in providing a symplectic structure of space-time. In contrast, it is demonstrated that a solution reconciling the physical requirements of covariance and manifest covariance of variational theory with the existence of a classical Hamiltonian structure for the gravitational field can be reached in the framework of synchronous variational principles. Both path-integral and volume-integral realizations of the Hamilton variational principle are explicitly determined and the corresponding physical interpretations are pointed out.  相似文献

It is widely accepted that a variational principle cannot be constructed for an arbitrary differential equation; a rigorous mathematical condition shows which equations can have a variational formulation. On the other hand, the importance for variational principles in various fields of physics resulted in several methods to circumvent this condition and to construct another type of variational principles for any differential equation. In this paper the common origin of the considered methods is investigated, and a generalized Hamiltonian formalism is formulated. Additionally, constructive algorithms are given by different methods to construct variational principles. Simple examples are presented to make construction methods more transparent: several Lagrangians are constructed for the different forms of the Maxwell equations and for the extended heat conduction equation.  相似文献

为考察合成孔径雷达反演海面风场变分模型精度,开展了误差分析试验.在背景场误差为极大值条件下分析场误差低于背景场误差,且随背景场风向增大呈周期性变化;在背景场误差逐渐变大条件下分析场误差逐渐增大,误差偏离方向与背景场误差偏离方向一致;在特定背景场条件下与直接反演模型相比,低风速时反演误差略高,中高风速时反演误差明显较低.总体来讲,变分模型误差小于背景场误差,风速反演误差小于1.60 m/s,风向误差小于17.15°.  相似文献

The consequences of the variational definition of the self-consistent potential in Brueckner-Hartree-Fock theory are explored to higher orders even summing up some classes of diagrams to infinity. The consistency of this definition with a diagrammatic expansion are checked. Overcounting terms in the variational approach are pointed out and their numerical influence on the ground state properties of nuclei is checked at the example of16O. Ambiguities of the potential defined by the variational procedure stemming from the property of the Pauli-operatorQ 2 =Q are studied diagrammatically and numerically. The application to16O shows that the influence of the Pauli rearrangement term is partially cancelled by the higher order starting energy rearrangement terms discussed in this work.  相似文献

We present a family of complexes playing the same rôle, for homogeneous variational problems, that the horizontal parts of the variational bicomplex play for variational problems on a fibred manifold. We show that, modulo certain pullbacks, each of these complexes (apart from the first one) is globally exact. All the complexes may be embedded in bicomplexes, and we show that, again modulo pullbacks, the latter are locally exact. The edge sequence is an important part of such a bicomplex, and may be used for the study of homogeneous variational problems.  相似文献

The variational approximation is a well known tool to approximate localized states in nonlinear systems. In the context of a discrete nonlinear Schrödinger equation with a small coupling constant, we prove error estimates for the variational approximations of site-symmetric, bond-symmetric, and twisted discrete solitons. This is shown for various trial configurations, which become increasingly more accurate as more parameters are taken. It is also shown that the variational approximation yields the correct spectral stability result and controls the oscillatory dynamics of stable discrete solitons for long but finite time intervals.  相似文献

The canonical (non-parametric) solutions of the variational problems for integral functionals are considered and the canonical solutions of variational problems of mechanics in Minkowski spaces are derived. By combining the variational principles of least action, flow, and hyperflow canonically invariant equations for the energy-momentum variable are obtained. From these equations the equations for the action and wave functions as a general solution of the combined variational problems of mechanics are derived. These equations are applicable for describing different types of particles and interactions and are summarized within the approach of general relativity.  相似文献

From the universal form of Gyarmati's variational principle of thermodynamics the differential equations governing the internal energy and impulse transport of one component hydro-thermodynamic systems are derived. In our particular case Gyarmati's “supplementary theorem” is confirmed, by which the validity of the universal form of Gyarmati's variational principle is guaranted also in non-linear cases. The variational method is proposed to analyze the influence of the fabrication parameters on the performance of buried K+–Na+ ion-exchanged Er3+–Yb3+ ions co-doped glass waveguide. The unknown parameters of the Hermite–Gaussian functions as the trial field distribution are determined based on the scalar variational principle. It is demonstrated that the results calculated in this paper agree with those measured in the experiment. The mode dimensions, the effective refractive index, and the overlap factor as the functions of the fabrication parameters are investigated. These results of the variational analysis are useful for the design and optimization of Er3+–Yb3+ ions co-doped waveguides.  相似文献

The expressions for the longitudinal dielectric function, spin and orbital susceptibilities in the static, long wavelength limit are evaluated by solving the corresponding linearized vertex functions exactly in this limit. The plasma dispersion relation to leading order in the long wave limit is similarly obtained. These are compared with the corresponding results obtained previoulsy by us by a variational solution to the same vertex equations. It is established that the variational method gives the exact results in the static, zero wave vector limit, involving the proper renormalizations. The plasma dispersion relation is found to be the same as in the exact calculation whereas the coefficient of q2 in the static density correlation function has an important additional contribution to the variational result. Applications of these results are briefly discussed.  相似文献

Using variational cumnulant expansion we study the lattice U(1) gauge-Higgs models with fixed modulus To determine the variational parameters, we combine main-value method and accumulated point method. We express Hamilton’s principle for a regular region of thermopiezoelectric polar materials. First, we obtain a four-field variational principle which leads, as its Euler-Lagrange equations, to the divergence equations and the associated natural boundary conditions only. Next, we adjoin the rest of the fundamental equations into the variational principle through an involutory transformation. Thus, we formulate a differential type of unified variational principles operating on all the field variables. The unified variational principle is extended for the region with a fixed internal surface of discontinuity and for a curvilinear laminated region as well. The principles derived in invariant form are expressible in a system of particular coordinate system most appropriate to the geometry of the regions. They are indicated to recover some of earlier principles as special cases.  相似文献
