Convergence of Eigenfunction Expansions of a Differential Operator with Integral Boundary Conditions

For a second-order ordinary differential operator on an interval of the real line with integral boundary conditions, conditions for the unconditional basis property and uniform convergence of the expansion of a function in terms of the eigen- and associated functions of this operator are established. The convergence and equiconvergence rates of this expansion and the equiconvergence rate of the trigonometric Fourier expansion of this function are estimated. The uniform convergence of its expansion in the adjoint system is studied.

     

Solvability of a Boundary Value Problem for Second-Order Elliptic Differential Operator Equations with a Spectral Parameter in the Equation and in the Boundary Conditions

In a Hilbert space H, we study noncoercive solvability of a boundary value problem for second-order elliptic differential-operator equations with a spectral parameter in the equation and in the boundary conditions in the case where the leading part of one of the boundary conditions contains a bounded linear operator in addition to the spectral parameter. We also illustrate applications of the general results obtained to elliptic boundary value problems.     

Inverse Problem for a Differential Operator with Nonseparated Boundary Conditions

Uniqueness theorems for the solution of an inverse problem for a fourth-order differential operator with nonseparated boundary conditions are proved. The spectral data for the problem is specified as the spectrum of the problem itself (or its three eigenvalues) and the spectral data of a system of three problems.     

Inverse Problem for a Fourth-Order Differential Operator with Nonseparated Boundary Conditions

Uniqueness theorems are proved for two inverse problems for a fourth-order differential operator with nonseparated boundary conditions. The first of the problems, which has technical applications, is the problem of identification of a differential equation and two boundary conditions, and the second problem is the problem of identification of a differential equation and four boundary conditions. One of two data sets is used as the spectral data of the problem. The first data set is the spectrum of the problem itself (or three of its eigenvalues) and the spectral data of a system of three problems, and the second data set is the spectrum of the problem itself (or three of its eigenvalues) and the spectra of ten boundary value problems.     

Bessel Property of the System of Root Functions of a Second-Order Singular Operator on an Interval

For the system of root functions of an operator defined by the differential operation ?u″ + p(x)u′ + q(x)u, x ∈ G = (0, 1), with complex-valued singular coefficients, sufficient conditions for the Bessel property in the space L₂(G) are obtained and a theorem on the unconditional basis property is proved. It is assumed that the functions p(x) and q(x) locally belong to the spaces L₂ and W₂^?1, respectively, and may have singularities at the endpoints of G such that q(x) = q_R(x) +q′S(x) and the functions q_S(x), p(x), q ₂ ^S (x)w(x), p²(x)w(x), and q_R(x)w(x) are integrable on the whole interval G, where w(x) = x(1 ? x).     

利用微分从属定义的积分算子函数族的性质研究

介绍了利用微分从属关系定义的一类函数类v_k[p,A,B]和一类算子函数I_p~λ(μ,η)(z),在上述算子函数的基础上定义了两类积分算子函数F_(p,μ,η)~(n,λ)(z),G_(p,μ,η)~(n,λ)(z),利用微分从属和凸函数理论,得到了积分算子函数F_(p,μ,η)~(n,λ)(z),G_(p,μ,η)~(n,λ)(z)包含于函数类v_k[p,A,B]的条件,结论推广了部分已有的研究成果.

Positive Solutions in the Space of Lipschitz Functions for Fractional Boundary Value Problems with Integral Boundary Conditions

In this paper, we study the existence of positive solutions for a class of nonlinear fractional boundary value problems with integral boundary conditions in Hölder spaces. Our analysis relies on a sufficient condition for the relative compactness in Hölder spaces and the classical Schauder fixed point theorem.

Invertibility Conditions for Second-Order Differential Operators in the Space of Continuous Bounded Functions

We prove the invertibility of second-order differential operators with constant operator coefficients acting on the Banach space of bounded continuous functions on the real line under the condition that they are uniformly injective (in particular, left invertible) or surjective (in particular, right invertible). We show that if these operators are considered on the space of periodic functions, then the unilateral invertibility does not imply the invertibility of such operators. We obtain criteria for the injectivity, surjectivity, and invertibility of differential operators on the space of periodic functions.
