In this paper a group of stress functions has been proposed for the calculation of a crack emanating from a hole with different shape (including circular, elliptical, rectangular, or rhombic hole) by boundary collocation method. The calculation results show that they coincide very well with the existing solutions by other methods for a circular or elliptical hole with a crack in an infinite plate. At the smae time, a series of results for different holes in a finite plate has also been obtained in this paper. The proposed functions and calculation procedure can be used for a plate of a crack emanating from an arbitrary hole.  相似文献

The response of cracked bodies subjected to loading was investigated by the boundary element method in this paper. The two-law elastic-cohesive-softening model was used for crack propagation analysis. The interface conditions for uncracked, craze, open crack, adhesive crack and slid crack parts were discussed and the corresponding incremental iteration algorithm was given. A simplified damage propagation model was presented. The technique has been applied to some specific examples which give the evidence that the method is satisfactory and efficient.  相似文献

The boundary collocation method is used to obtain the torsional rigidity and Mode III stress intensity factor of a thick-walled cylinder with an external radial crack. When the internal radius of the cylinder is very small, the results agree well with those obtained previously from other methods for an edge crack in a solid cylindrical bar. The present method is shown to be expedient when applied to obtain results for different ratios of the internal and external radii of the cracked cylinder.  相似文献

A simple and effective boundary element method for stress intensity factor calculation for crack problems in a plane elastic plate is presented. The boundary element method consists of the constant displacement discontinuity element presented by Crouch and Starfield and the crack-tip displacement discontinuity elements proposed by YAN Xiangqiao. In the boundary element implementation the left or the right crack-tip displacement discontinuity element was placed locally at the corresponding left or right each crack tip on top of the constant displacement discontinuity elements that cover the entire crack surface and the other boundaries. Test examples (i. e. , a center crack in an infinite plate under tension, a circular hole and a crack in an infinite plate under tension) are included to illustrate that the numerical approach is very simple and accurate for stress intensity factor calculation of plane elasticity crack problems. In addition, specifically, the stress intensity factors of branching cracks emanating from a square hole in a rectangular plate under biaxial loads were analysed. These numerical results indicate the present numerical approach is very effective for calculating stress intensity factors of complex cracks in a 2-D finite body, and are used to reveal the effect of the biaxial loads and the cracked body geometry on stress intensity factors.  相似文献

Summary The linear viscoelastic three-dimensional crack problem is analyzed by combining the correspondence principle and the boundary integral equation method. In a general crack analysis the usual boundary integral equations lead to a nonunique formulation of the problem, because they do not involve information about the loading on the crack surface. Here, the boundary integro-differential equations are applied to the numerical calculation of the crack opening displacement of a penny-shaped crack in an infinite linear viscoelastic body. Moreover, the influence of several parameters of the three-parameter viscoelastic model on the crack opening displacement and the incubation time is shown.

Übersicht Das linear viskoelastisch räumliche Rißproblem wird mit Hilfe einer Kombination von Korrespondenzprinzip und Randintegralgleichungsverfahren gelöst. In einer allgemeinen Rißanalyse führen die üblichen Randintegrale zu einer nicht eindeutigen Formulierung dieses Problems, weil die Angaben über Belastung und Rißoberfläche fehlen. Das Randintegralgleichungsverfahren wird für die numerische Berechnung der Rißerweiterung eines münzförmigen Risses in einem unendlich linear viskoelastischen Körper angewendet. Weiterhin wird der Einfluß von verschiedenen Parametern des räumlich viskoelastischen Modells auf die Rißerweiterung und die Inkubationszeit gezeigt.

A simple technique to design extrusion dies for three dimensional profiles based on Boundary Element Methods is reported. This paper presents a hybrid Trefftz (HT) boundary element method (BEM) by using two indirect techniques for mode III fracture problems. Two Trefftz complete functions of Laplace equation for normal elements and a special purpose Trefftz function for crack elements are proposed in deriving the Galerkin and the collocation techniques of HT BEM. Then two auxiliary functions are introduced to improve the accuracy of the displacement field near the crack tips, and stress intensity factor (SIF) is evaluated by local crack elements as well. Furthermore, numerical examples are given, including comparisons of the present results with the analytical solution and the other numerical methods, to demonstrate the efficiency for different boundary conditions and to illustrate the convergence influenced by several parameters. It shows that HT BEM by using the Galerkin and the collocation techniques is effective for mode III fracture problems. 基于有限断裂法和比例边界有限元法提出了一种裂缝开裂过程模拟的数值模型。采用基于有限断裂法的混合断裂准则作为起裂及扩展的判断标准,当最大环向应力和能量释放率同时达到其临界值时,裂缝扩展。结合多边形比例边界有限元法,可以半解析地求解裂尖区域附近的应力场和位移场,在裂尖附近无需富集即可获得高精度的解。计算能量释放率时,只需将裂尖多边形内的裂尖位置局部调整,无需改变整体网格的分布,网格重剖分的工作量降至最少。裂缝扩展步长通过混合断裂准则确定,避免了人为假设的随意性,并可以实现裂缝变步长扩展的模拟,更符合实际情况。通过对四点剪切梁的复合型裂缝扩展过程的模拟,对本文模型进行了验证,并应用于重力坝模型的裂缝扩展模拟,计算结果表明,本文提出的模型简单易行且精度较高。  相似文献

Using the Somigliana formula and the concepts of finite-part integral, a set of hypersingular integral equations to solve the arbitrary fiat crack in three-dimensional elasticity is derived and its numerical method is then proposed by combining the finitepart integral method with boundary element method. In order to verify the method, several numerical examples are carried out. The results of the displacement discontinuities of the crack surface and the stress intensity factors at the crack front are in good agrernent with the' theoretical solutions.  相似文献

In this paper, we present the applications of Boundary Element Method (BEM) to simulate the electro-mechanical coupling responses of Micro-Electro-Mechanical systems (MEMS). The algorithm is programmed in our research group based on BEM modeling for electrostatics and elastostatics. Good agreement is shown while the simulation results of the pull-in voltages are compared with the theoretical/experimental ones for some examples. A dual boundary element formulation is presented for elastoplastic crack problems using a variable stiffness approach. In this approach the Von Mises yield criterion with strain hardening is used and the unknown non-linear terms, as the initial strains, are now defined in function of the scalar flow factors. Dual BEM variable stiffness formulation, based on the utilisation of the traction equation on one of the crack surfaces and the displacement equation on the other, is presented for the solution of general elastoplastic fracture mechanics problems. The validity of the present formulation has been assessed by comparing with the well known iterative dual BEM elastoplastic approach.  相似文献

Based on the direct differentiation of boundary element equations to design variables, an algorithm of the boundary element method which is suitable for the shape sensitivity analysis of serial multi-domain elastic structures is built. By the algorithm, it is not necessary to form and solve the equations for the structure as a whole. Each domain can be solved separately. In this paper, the static shakedown theorem is reformulated making use of the symmetric Galerkin boundary element method (SGBEM) rather than of finite element method. Based on the classical Melan’s theorem, a numerical solution procedure is presented for shakedown analysis of structures made of elastic-perfectly plastic material. The self-equilibrium stress field is constructed by linear combination of several basis self-equilibrium stress fields with parameters to be determined. These basis self-equilibrium stress fields are expressed as elastic responses of the body to imposed permanent strains obtained through elastic–plastic incremental analysis. The lower bound of shakedown load is obtained via a non-linear mathematical programming problem solved by the Complex method. Numerical examples show that it is feasible and efficient to solve the problems of shakedown analysis by using the SGBEM.  相似文献

The behavior of loading-carrying welds joints has been studied extensively using boundary element method. The symmetric boundary element method for multiple cracks problem is derived using Betti’s reciprocal theorem. The analysis can be performed effectively in single domain. High order element is proposed to solve the double integrals. The stress intensity factors are calculated for weld root and weld toe and the critical value for class F2 and W are obtained. Formulation for the critical value is obtained for the engineering design. The results are compared with those obtained by dual boundary element method and derived from the code of practice. Finally, the theoretical fatigue life of such joints is estimated.  相似文献

A multi-domain boundary element method is used to compute the stress intensity factor of plane stress/plane strain crack problems with friction. The analysis is performed by using traction-singular quarter-point boundary elements on each side of the crack tips. The increment iteration is given. The fractal-like finite element method has been proved to be very efficient and accurate in two-dimensional static and dynamic crack problems. In this paper, we extend our previous study to include the thermal effect for two-dimensional isotropic thermal crack problems. Both the temperature intensity factor and thermal stress intensity factor can be calculated directly. The temperature distribution is first found, which is imposed thereafter as a thermal load in the elastic problem. The transformation function used in the study has been found analytically. The effects of different thermal loading on the thermal stress intensity factor are presented. The numerical examples are compared with the results from other methods and find to be in good agreement.  相似文献

The integral-differential equations for three-dimensional planar interfacial cracks of arbitrary shape in transversely isotropic bimaterials were derived by virtue of the Somigliana identity and the fundamental solutions, in which the displacement discontinuities across the crack faces are the unknowns to be determined. The interface is parallel to both the planes of isotropy. The singular behaviors of displacement and stress near the crack border were analyzed and the stress singularity indexes were obtained by integral equation method. The stress intensity factors were expressed in terms of the displacement discontinuities. In the non-oscillatory case, the hyper-singular boundary integral-differential equations were reduced to hyper-singular boundary integral equations similar to those of homogeneously isotropic materials.  相似文献

提出了一种具有比例边界有限元的半解析特性和等几何分析的几何特性的新方法。该新方法是在比例边界有限元框架中用NURBS曲线或曲面精确描述域边界几何形状,同时域边界位移场采用描述几何形状的NURBS形函数等参构造。这种新方法具有比例边界有限元固有的径向解析特性和NURBS的高阶连续性的优点。数值算例显示,与传统的比例边界有限元相比,基于等几何分析的比例边界有限元方法提高了域边界单元和域内应力场的连续性,减少了计算自由度。应用此方法可以用较少的计算自由度获得更高连续阶和更高精度的位移、应力和应变场。  相似文献
