Crystallographic classes in a 4-dimensional Minkowski space

On a crystallographic group, a condition of being topologically discrete is imposed which is weaker than is the conventional requirement for an action on space to be discontinuous. Isomorphism classification is given for crystallographic groups in three crystallographic classes in a 4-dimensional Minkowski space, which are defined by unimodular subgroups of the general Lorentz group. Polynomial Crystallographic Actions on the Plane

We study polynomial crystallographic actions on the plane. These are properly discontinuous and cocompact actions, which are expressed by polynomial functions. We prove that any such action of a polycyclic-by-finite group is of bounded degree and conversely that any polynomial crystallographic action of bounded degree comes from a polycyclic-by-finite group. This last result is a generalization of the well known Auslander conjecture.     

Algebraic K-Theory of Two-Dimensional Crystallographic Groups

Elementary Classes of Groups

Let be a class of groups. The elementary class with base is defined as the minimal class of groups containing and closed with respect to taking subgroups, quotient groups, group extensions, and direct limits. Properties of such classes are studied. Some applications to the theory of elementary amenable groups and a relation to the Kurosh--Chernikov classes of generalized solvable groups are considered.     

Groups in which every subgroup of infinite rank is almost permutable

In this paper, the structure of locally finite groups of infinite rank whose subgroups of infinite rank are permutable in a subgroup of finite index is investigated.
