By using the neutral bidentate nitrogen-containing ligand, bis(3,5-diisopropyl-1-pyrazolyl)methane (L1' '), the copper(I) complexes [Cu(L1' ')2](CuCl2) (1CuCl2), [Cu(L1' ')2](ClO4) (1ClO4), [Cu(L1' ')]2(ClO4)2 (2ClO4), [Cu(L1' ')]2(BF4)2 (2BF4), [Cu(L1' ')(NCMe)](PF6) (3PF6), [Cu(L1' ')(PPh3)](ClO4) (4ClO4), [Cu(L1' ')(PPh3)](PF6) (4PF6), [{Cu(L1' ')(CO)}2(mu-ClO4)](ClO4) (5ClO4), and the copper(II) complexes [{Cu(L1' ')}2(mu-OH)2(mu-ClO4)2] (6), and [Cu(L1' ')Cl2] (7) were systematically synthesized and fully characterized by X-ray crystallography and by IR and 1H NMR spectroscopy. In the case of copper(II), ESR spectroscopy was also applied. In comparison with the related neutral tridentate ligand L1', bis-chelated copper(I) complexes and binuclear linear-coordinated copper(I) complexes are easy to obtain with L1' ', like 1CuCl2, 1ClO4, 2ClO4, and 2BF4. Importantly, stronger and bulkier ligands such as acetonitrile (3PF6) and especially triphenylphosphine (4ClO4 and 4PF6) generate three-coordinate structures with a trigonal-planar geometry. Surprisingly, for the smaller ligand carbon monoxide, a mononuclear three-coordinate structure is very unstable, leading to the formation of a binuclear complex (5ClO4) with one bridging perchlorate anion, such that the copper(I) centers are four-coordinate. The same tendency is observed for the copper(II) bis(mu-hydroxo) compounds 6, which is additionally bridged by two perchlorate anions. Both copper(II) complexes 6 and 7 were obtained by molecular O2 oxidation of the corresponding copper(I) complexes. A comparison of the new copper(I) triphenylphosphine complexes 4ClO4 and 4PF6 with corresponding species obtained with the related tridentate ligands L1' and L1 (8ClO4 and 9, respectively) reveals surprisingly small differences in their spectroscopic properties. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations are used to shed light on the differences in bonding in these compounds and the spectral assignments. Finally, the reactivity of the different bis(pyrazolyl)methane complexes obtained here toward PPh3, CO, and O2 is discussed.  相似文献

A new bis tridentate ligand 2,2'-bipyridine-3,3'-[2-pyridinecarboxamide] H(2)L(1) which can bind transition metal ions has been synthesized via the condensation of 3,3'-diamino-2,2'-bipyridine together with 2-pyridine carbonyl chloride. Two copper(II) coordination compounds have been prepared and characterized: [Cu(2)(L(1))(hfac)(2)].3CH(3)CN.H(2)O (1) and [Cu(2)(L(1))Cl(2)].CH(3)CN (2). The single-crystal X-ray structures reveal that complex 1 crystallizes in the triclinic space group P1, with the unit cell parameters a = 12.7185(6) A, b = 17.3792(9) A, c = 19.4696(8) A, alpha = 110.827(2) degrees, beta = 99.890(3) degrees, gamma = 97.966(3) degrees, V = 3868.3(3) A3, Z = 4, R = 0.0321 and R(w) = 0.0826. Complex 2 crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P2(1)/n with the unit cell parameters a = 12.8622(12) A, b = 9.6100(10) A, c = 19.897(2) A, beta = 102.027(3) degrees, V = 2405.3(4) A(3), Z = 4, R = 0.0409 and R(w) = 0.1005. In both complexes the ligand is in the dianionic form and coordinates the divalent Cu(II) ions via one amido and two pyridine nitrogen donor atoms. In 1, the coordination geometry around both Cu(II) ions is best described as distorted trigonal bipyramidal where the remaining two coordination sites are satisfied by hexafluoroacetylacetonate counterions. In 2 both Cu(II )ions adopt a (4 + 1) distorted square pyramidal geometry. One copper forms a longer apical bond to an adjacent carbonyl oxygen atom, whereas the second copper is chelated to a neighboring Cu-Cl chloride ion to afford a mu-Cl-bridged dimerized [Cu(2)(L(1))Cl(2)](2) complex. The magnetic susceptibility data for 1 (2 -270 K), reveal the occurrence of weak antiferromagnetic interactions between the Cu(II) ions. In contrast, variable-temperature magnetic susceptibility measurements for 2 reveal more complex magnetic properties, with the presence of a weak antiferromagnetic exchange (J = -10.1 K) between the copper ions in each dinuclear copper complex and a stronger ferromagnetic exchange interaction (J = 32.9 K) between the Cu(II) ions of the Cu(mu-Cl)(2)Cu dimeric bridging units.  相似文献

Employing a binucleating phenol-containing ligand PD'OH, a mu-phenoxo-mu-hydroperoxo dicopper(II) complex [Cu(II)2(PD'O-)(-OOH)(RCN)2](ClO4)2 (1, R = CH3, CH3CH2 or C6H5CH2; lambda(max) = 407 nm; nu(O-O) = 870 cm(-1); J. Am. Chem. Soc. 2005, 127, 15360) is generated by reacting a precursor dicopper(I) complex [Cu(I)2(PD'OH)(CH3CN)2](ClO4)2 (2) with O2 in nitrile solvents at -80 degrees C. Species 1 is unable to oxidize externally added substrates, for instance, PPh3, 2,4-tert-butylphenol, or 9,10-dihydroanthracene. However, upon thermal decay, it hydroxylates copper-bound organocyanides (e.g., benzylcyanide), leading to the corresponding aldehyde while releasing cyanide. This chemistry mimics that known for the copper enzyme dopamine-beta-monooxygenase. The thermal decay of 1 also leads to a product [Cu(II)3(L")2(Cl-)2](PF6)2 (6); its X-ray structure reveals that L" is a Schiff base-containing ligand which apparently derives from both oxidative N-dealkylation and then oxidative dehydrogenation of PD'OH; the chloride presumably derives from the CH2Cl2 solvent. With an excess of PPh3 added to 1, a binuclear Cu(I) complex [Cu(I)2(L')(PPh3)2](ClO4)2 (5) with a cross-linked PD'OH ligand L' has also been identified and crystallographically and chemically characterized. The newly formed C-O bond and an apparent k(H)/k(D) = 2.9 +/- 0.2 isotope effect in the benzylcyanide oxidation reaction suggest a common ligand-based radical forms during compound 1 thermal decay reactions. A di-mu-hydroxide-bridged tetranuclear copper(II) cluster compound [{Cu(II)2(PD'O-)(OH-)}2](ClO4)4 (8) has also been isolated following warming of 1. Its formation is consistent with the generation of [Cu(II)2(PD'O-)(OH-)]2+, with dimerization a reflection of the large Cu...Cu distance and thus the preference for not having a second bridging ligand atom (in addition to the phenolate O) for dicopper(II) ligation within the PD'O- ligand framework.  相似文献

The coordination chemistry of the tridentate ligand N-(2-hydroxy-3,5-di-tert-butylphenyl)-2-aminobenzylalcohol H3L has been studied with the copper(II) ion. The ligand is noninnocent in the sense that it is readily oxidized in the presence of air to its o-iminobenzosemiquinonato [L*]2- radical form. The crystal structure of the synthesized tetracopper(II)-tetraradical complex [CuII4(L*)4] (1), has been determined by X-ray crystallography at 100 K. Variable-temperature (2-290 K) magnetic susceptibility measurements of complex 1 containing eight paramagnetic centers establish the spin ground state to be diamagnetic (St=0) arising from the antiferromagnetic interactions. Electrochemical measurements (cyclic voltammograms and square wave voltammograms) indicate four one-electron reductions of the ligand prior to the reduction of the metal center. Complex 1 is found to catalyze the aerial oxidation of 2-aminophenol to 2-amino-phenoxazine-3-one, thus modeling the catalytic function of the copper-containing enzyme phenoxazinone synthase. Kinetic measurements together with electron paramagnetic resonance and electronic spectral studies have been used to decipher the complex six-electron oxidative coupling of 2-aminophenol. An "on-off" mechanism of the radicals together with redox participation of the metal center is proposed for the catalytic oxidation processes.  相似文献

A facile synthesis of 2-formyl-1,8-naphthalenediol is reported. Its potential as a general precursor for the preparation of unsymmetrical multidentate chelating ligand systems based on 1,8-naphthalenediol is demonstrated by the synthesis of the dinucleating ligand L(4-)(H(4)L=N,N'-bis(2-(1,8-naphthalenediol)methylidene)propylenediamine). Reaction of H(4) L with copper acetate results in the formation of the unsymmetrical dinuclear Cu(II) complex [LCu(2)](3), which has been structurally characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. One Cu(II) ion is coordinated by a N(2)O(2) compartment of L(4-) and the other Cu(II) ion is coordinated by an O(4) compartment of L(4-) while they are bridged by two aryloxide functions of L(4-). A dimerization of two molecules of 3 to a tetranuclear entity 3(2) occurs through formation of weak apical Cu--O interactions. Analysis of the temperature dependent magnetic susceptibility measurements (2--290 K) established a strong intradimer exchange coupling J(12)=-371 cm(-1). This strong superexchange interaction fits nicely in a magneto-structural correlation which has been established for dinuclear bis(phenoxide)-bridged Cu(II) complexes demonstrating the electronic equivalence of the aryloxides of a phenol and 1,8-naphthalenediol.  相似文献

The air-sensitive bis(micro-iodo)dicopper(I) complex 1 supported by [N-(3,5-di-tert-butyl-2-hydroxybenzyl)-N,N-di-(2-pyridylmethyl)]amine (L) has been prepared by treating copper(I) iodide with L in anhydrous THF. Compound 1 crystallizes as a dimer in space group C2/c. Each copper(I) center has distorted tetrahedral N2I2 coordination geometry with Cu-N(pyridyl) distances 2.061(3) and 2.063(3) A, Cu-I distances 2.6162(5) and 2.7817(5) and a Cu...Cu distance of 2.9086(8) A. Complex 1 is rapidly oxidized by dioxygen in CH2Cl2 with a 1 : 1 stoichiometry giving the bis(micro-iodo)peroxodicopper(II) complex [Cu(L)(micro-I)]2O2 (2). The reaction of 1 with dioxygen has been characterized by UV-vis, mass spectrometry, EPR and Cu K-edge X-ray absorption spectroscopy at low temperature (193 K) and above. The mass spectrometry and low temperature EPR measurements suggested an equilibrium between the bis(micro-iodo)peroxodicopper(II) complex 2 and its dimer, namely, the tetranuclear (peroxodicopper(II))2 complex [Cu(L)(micro-I)]4O4 (2'). Complex 2 undergoes an effective oxo-transfer reaction converting PPh3 into O=PPh3 under anaerobic conditions. At sufficiently high concentration of PPh3, the oxygen atom transfer from 2 to PPh3 was followed by the formation of [Cu(PPh3)3I]. The dioxygen reactivity of 1 was compared with that known for other halo(amine)copper(I) dimers.  相似文献

Dicopper(II) complexes of two new 3,5-disubstituted-pyrazole-based ligands, bis(quadridentate) macrocyclic ligand (L1)(2-) and bis(terdentate) acyclic ligand (L2)(-), were synthesised by Schiff base condensation of 3,5-diformylpyrazole and either one equivalent of 1,3-diaminopropane or two equivalents of 2-(2-aminoethyl)pyridine in the presence of one or two equivalents of copper(II) ions, respectively. Copper(II) acetate monohydrate was employed in the synthesis of [Cu(2)(L1)(OAc)(2)], [Cu(2)(L2)(H(2)O)(2)(OAc)(3)] and [Cu(II)(2)(L1)(NCS)(2)]; in the last of these one equivalent of NaNCS per copper(II) ion was also added. The fourth complex, [Cu(2)(L2)(NCS)(2)(DMF)]BF(4), was prepared using copper(II) tetrafluoroborate hexahydrate, along with two equivalents of NaOH and six of NaSCN. All four of these dimetallic complexes have been characterised by single crystal X-ray diffraction: the two macrocyclic complexes are the first such Schiff base complexes to be so characterised. A feature common to all four of the structures is bridging of the two copper(II) centres by the pyrazolate moiety/moieties. The structure determinations show that the coordination mode of the acetate groups in both [Cu(2)(L1)(OAc)(2)].2MeOH.H(2)O and [Cu(2)(L2)(H(2)O)(2)(OAc)(3)] is unidentate as had been tentatively predicted by analysis of the infrared spectra (DeltaOCO of 199 and 208 cm(-1), respectively). The magnetochemical studies of the macrocyclic complexes, over the temperature range 4-300 K, revealed strong antiferromagnetic coupling with J = -169 and -213 cm(-1) for [Cu(2)(L1)(OAc)(2)].2H(2)O and [Cu(II)(2)(L1)(NCS)(2)].DMF respectively. The J values have been discussed in relation to a published correlation involving the CuN(pyrazolate)N(pyrazolate) angles.  相似文献

The new [2 + 2] Schiff-base macrocyclic ligand L2, containing pyridazine head units and pyridine pendant arms, was synthesised as [Ba(II)2L2(ClO4)4(OH2)] 1 from the barium(II) ion templated condensation reaction of 3,6-diformylpyridazine and N1-(2-aminoethyl)-N1-(methylene-2-pyridyl)-ethane-1,2-diamine. Subsequent transmetallation reactions of 1 with copper(II), iron(II) and manganese(II) perchlorates led to the formation of [Cu(II)2L2](ClO4)4.2MeCN 2, [Fe(II)2L2(MeCN)2](ClO4)4 3 and two manganese complexes, 4 and 5, with the same formula, [Mn(II)2L2(MeCN)(OH2)](ClO4)4, but slightly different crystal structures, respectively. Single-crystal X-ray structural analyses reveal the variety of structures which can be supported by L2 in order to meet the coordination environment preferences of the incorporated metal ions. The barium(II) ions in 1 have an irregular ten-coordinate geometry whereas the copper(II) ions in 2 have a square pyramidal geometry and the iron(II) ions in 3 have an octahedral geometry, while in 4 and 5 every manganese(II) ion is seven-coordinate and the environment can be best described as distorted pentagonal bipyramidal. In 1, 4 and 5 the pyridazine moieties bridge the metal centres [Ba(1)...Ba(2) 4.9557(3)A 1; Mn(1)...Mn(2) 4.520(1)A 4; Mn(1)[dot dot dot]Mn(2) 4.3707(8)A 5] but this is not observed in the copper(II) and iron(II) complexes, 2 and 3, in which the metal ions are well separated [Cu(1)...Cu(2) 5.9378(6)A 2; Fe(1)...Fe(2) 5.7407(12)A 3]. In the cyclic voltammogram of [Cu2(II)L2](ClO4)4.2MeCN 2 in MeCN vs. Ag/AgCl two separate reversible one-electron transfer steps are observed [E(1/2)=0.04 V, DeltaE= 0.12 V and E(1/2)= 0.20 V, DeltaE=0.12 V; K(c)=510; in this system E(1/2)(Fc+/Fc)=0.42 V and DeltaE(Fc+/Fc)=0.08 V]. The other complexes cannot be reversibly reduced/oxidised.  相似文献

TMEDA-free (TMEDA: tetramethylethylenediamine) LiCH(2)SMe is a suitable reagent for the selective introduction of (methylthio)methyl groups into PhBBr(2) and its p-silylated derivative Me(3)Si--C(6)H(4)--BBr(2). The resulting compounds, R*--C(6)H(4)--B(Br)(CH(2)SMe) (R*=H: 2; R*=SiMe(3): 7) and PhB(CH(2)SMe)(2) (3), form cyclic dimers through B--S adduct bonds in solution and in the solid state. Compounds 2 and 3 have successfully been used for preparing the (N(2)S) scorpionate [PhBpz(2)(CH(2)SMe)](-) ([5](-)) (pz: pyrazol-1-yl) and the (NS(2)) scorpionate [PhBpz(CH(2)SMe)(2)](-), respectively. Compound 7 proved to be an excellent building block for the heteroditopic poly(pyrazol-1-yl)borate p-[pz(3)B--C(6)H(4)--Bpz(2)(CH(2)SMe)](2-) ([10](2-)) that mimics the two ligation sites of the copper enzymes peptidylglycine alpha-hydroxylating monooxygenase and dopamine beta-monooxygenase. Treatment of the monotopic tripod [5](-) with CuCl and CuBr(2) results in the formation of complexes K[Cu(5)(2)] and [Cu(5)(2)]. An X-ray crystallography study of K[Cu(5)(2)] revealed a tetrahedral (N(2)S(2)) coordination environment for the Cu(I) ion, whereas the Cu(II) ion of [Cu(5)(2)] possesses a square-pyramidal (N(4)S) ligand sphere (S-atom in the axial position). The remarkable redox properties of K[Cu(5)(2)] and [Cu(5)(2)] have been assessed by cyclic voltammetry and quantum chemical calculations. The reaction of K[Cu(5)(2)] with dry air leads to the Cu(II) species [Cu(5)(2)] and to a tetranuclear Cu(II) complex featuring [PhB(O)pz(2)](2-) ligands. Addition of CuCl to K(2)[10] gives the complex K(3)[Cu(10)(2)] containing two ligand molecules per Cu(I) center. The Cu(I) ion binds to both heteroscorpionate moieties and thereby establishes a coordination environment similar to that of the Cu(I) ion in K[Cu(5)(2)].  相似文献

Ligand effects on the structures and redox reactivities of copper complexes have been examined using (2-pyridyl)alkylamine derivatives as the supporting ligands, where particular attention has been focused on the effects of the alkyl linker chain length connecting the tertiary amine nitrogen atom and the pyridine nucleus: N[bond]CH(2)[bond]Py (Pym) vs N[bond]CH(2)CH(2)[bond]Py (Pye). X-ray crystallographic analysis of the copper(I) complex of tridentate ligand (Phe)L(Pym2) [N,N-di(2-pyridylmethyl)-2-phenylethylamine] (complex 1) has demonstrated that it possesses a trigonal pyramidal geometry in which a d[bond]pi interaction with an eta(1)-binding mode exists between the metal ion and one of the ortho carbons of the phenyl ring of the ligand side arm (phenethyl). The result shows sharp contrast to the d[bond]pi interaction with an eta(2)-binding mode existing in the copper(I) complex of (Phe)L(Pye2) [N,N-di[2-(2-pyridyl)ethyl]-2-phenethylamine] (complex 2). Such a d-pi interaction has been shown to affect the stability of the copper(I) complex in CH(2)Cl(2). Oxygenation of copper(I) complex 1 supported by (Phe)L(Pym2) produces a bis(mu-oxo)dicopper(III) complex, also being in sharp contrast to the case of the copper(I) complex 2 with ligand (Phe)L(Pye2), which preferentially affords a (micro-eta(2):eta(2)-peroxo)dicopper(II) complex in the reaction with O(2). Such an effect of the alkyl linker chain length of the metal binding site has also been found to operate in the RSSR (disulfide)/2RS(-) (thiolate) redox system. Namely, ligand (S2,R)L(Pym1) (di[2-[(alkyl)(2-pyridinylmethyl)amino]ethyl] disulfide) with the methylene linker group (Pym) induced the reductive disulfide bond cleavage in the reaction with copper(I) ion to give a bis(micro-thiolato)dicopper(II) complex, while the ligand with the ethylene linker group (Pye), (S2,Bn)L(Pye1) (di[2-[(benzyl)(2-(2-pyridinyl)ethyl)amino]ethyl] disulfide), gave a disulfide-dicopper(I) complex. These ligand effects in the Cu(2)[bond]O(2) and Cu(2)[bond]S(2) systems have been discussed by taking into account the difference in electron-donor ability of the pyridine nucleus between the Pym and Pye ligand systems.  相似文献

New bis(pyrazolyl)borato olefin complexes of copper(I) of general formula Cu[BH2(3,5-(CF3)2Pz)2](olefin) have been prepared (olefins: coe = cyclooctene, van = 4-vinylanisole, clsty = 4-chlorostyrene, tevs = triethylvinylsilane, fn = fumaronitrile). The structures of Cu[BH2(3,5-(CF3)2Pz)2](L), L = coe, van, tevs, fn, have been determined by X-ray diffraction methods. Considering the two N atoms of the bis(pyrazolyl)borate ligand and the midpoint of the C-C double bond of the coordinated olefin, the compounds with L = coe, van and tevs contain a copper atom in a trigonal planar coordination. A coordination polymer with N-coordinated fumaronitrile and tetrahedral coordination of copper atoms is obtained in the case of L = fn. The carbonylation reactions of Cu[BH(2)(3,5-(CF3)2Pz)2](olefin) (olefin = coe, clsty, van, tevs), Cu[BH2(3,5-(CF3)2Pz)2](olefin) + CO<==>Cu[BH2(3,5-(CF3)2Pz)2](CO) + olefin, have been studied gas volumetrically and the thermodynamical parameters of the equilibria for the displacement of the coordinated olefin by carbon monoxide have been determined. These data for copper(I) are compared with those reported in the literature.  相似文献

The imidazolate-bridged homodinuclear Cu(II)-Cu(II) complex, [(CuimCu)L]ClO(4).0.5H(2)O (1), and heterodinuclear Cu(II)-Zn(II) complex, [(CuimZnL(-)(2H))(CuimZnL(-)(H))](ClO(4))(3) (2), of a single macrocyclic ligand with two hydroxyethyl pendants, L (L = 3,6,9,16,19,22-hexaaza-6,19-bis(2-hydroxyethyl)tricyclo[22,2,2,2(11,14)]triaconta-1,11,13,24,27,29-hexaene), have been synthesized as possible models for copper-zinc superoxide dismutase (Cu(2),Zn(2)-SOD). Their crystal structures analyzed by X-ray diffraction methods have shown that the structures of the two complexes are markedly different. Complex 1 crystallizes in the orthorhombic system, containing an imidazolate-bridged dicopper(II) [Cu-im-Cu](3+) core, in which the two copper(II) ions are pentacoordinated by virtue of an N4O environment with a Cu.Cu distance of 5.999(2) A, adopting the geometry of distorted trigonal bipyramid and tetragonal pyramid, respectively. Complex 2 crystallizes in the triclinic system, containing two similar Cu-im-Zn cores in the asymmetric unit, in which both the Cu(II) and Zn(II) ions are pentacoordinated in a distorted trigonal bipyramid geometry, with the Cu.Zn distance of 5.950(1)/5.939(1) A, respectively. Interestingly, the macrocyclic ligand with two arms possesses a chairlike (anti) conformation in complex 1, but a boatlike (syn) conformation in complex 2. Magnetic measurements and ESR spectroscopy of complex 1 have revealed the presence of an antiferromagnetic exchange interaction between the two Cu(II) ions. The ESR spectrum of the Cu(II)-Zn(II) heterodinuclear complex 2 displayed a typical signal for mononuclear trigonal bipyramidal Cu(II) complexes. From pH-dependent ESR and electronic spectroscopic studies, the imidazolate bridges in the two complexes have been found to be stable over broad pH ranges. The cyclic voltammograms of the two complexes have been investigated. Both of the two complexes can catalyze the dismutation of superoxide and show rather high activity.  相似文献

The interaction between Co(II) and Cu(II) ions with a Py(2)N(4)S(2)-coordinating octadentate macrocyclic ligand (L) to afford dinuclear compounds has been investigated. The complexes were characterized by microanalysis, conductivity measurements, IR spectroscopy and liquid secondary ion mass spectrometry. The crystal structure of the compounds [H(4)L](NO(3))(4), [Cu(2)LCl(2)](NO(3))(2) (5), [Cu(2)L(NO(3))(2)](NO(3))(2) (6), and [Cu(2)L(μ-OH)](ClO(4))(3)·H(2)O (7) was also determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The [H(4)L](4+) cation crystal structure presents two different conformations, planar and step, with intermolecular face-to-face π,π-stacking interactions between the pyridinic rings. Complexes 5 and 6 show the metal ions in a slightly distorted square-pyramidal coordination geometry. In the case of complex 7, the crystal structure presents the two metal ions joined by a μ-hydroxo bridge and the Cu(II) centers in a slightly distorted square plane or a tetragonally distorted octahedral geometry, taking into account weak interactions in axial positions. Electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy is in accordance with the dinuclear nature of the complexes, with an octahedral environment for the cobalt(II) compounds and square-pyramidal or tetragonally elongated octahedral geometries for the copper(II) compounds. The magnetic behavior is consistent with the existence of antiferromagnetic interactions between the ions for cobalt(II) and copper(II) complexes, while for the Co(II) ones, this behavior could also be explained by spin-orbit coupling.  相似文献

Two mononuclear copper(II) complexes with the unsymmetrical tridentate ligand 2-[((imidazol-2-ylmethylidene)amino)ethyl]pyridine (HL), [Cu(HL)(H2O)](ClO4)2.2H2O (1) and [Cu(HL)Cl2] (2), have been prepared and characterized. The X-ray analysis of 2 revealed that the copper(II) ion assumes a pentacoordinated square pyramidal geometry with an N3Cl2 donor set. When 1 and 2 are treated with an equimolecular amount of potassium hydroxide, the deprotonation of the imidazole moiety promotes a self-assembled process, by coordination of the imidazolate nitrogen atom to a Cu(II) center of an adjacent unit, leading to the polynuclear complexes [[Cu(L)(H2O)](ClO4)]n (3) and [[Cu(L)Cl].2H2O]n (4). Variable-temperature magnetic data are well reproduced for one-dimensional infinite regular chain systems with J = -60.3 cm(-1) and g = 2.02 for 3 and J = -69.5 cm(-1) and g = 2.06, for 4. When 1 is used as a "ligand complex" for [M(hfac)2] (M = Cu(II), Ni(II), Mn(II), Zn(II)) in a basic medium, only the imidazolate-bridged trinuclear complexes [Cu(L)(hfac)M(hfac)2Cu(hfac)(L)] (M = Zn(II), Cu(II)) (5, 6) can be isolated. Nevertheless, the analogous complex containing Mn(II) as the central metal (7) can be prepared from the precursor [Cu(HL)Cl2] (2). All the trinuclear complexes are isostructural. The structures of 5 and 6 have been solved by X-ray crystallographic methods and consist of well-isolated molecules with Ci symmetry, the center of symmetry being located at the central metal. Thus, the copper(II) fragments are in trans positions, leading to a linear conformation. The magnetic susceptibility data (2-300 K), which reveal the occurrence of antiferromagnetic interactions between copper(II) ions and the central metal, were quantitatively analyzed for symmetrical three-spin systems to give the coupling parameters JCuCu = -37.2 and JCuMn = -3.7 cm(-1) with D = +/-0.4 cm(-1) for 6 and 7, respectively. These magnetic behaviors are compared with those for analogous systems and discussed on the basis of a localized-orbital model of exchange interactions.  相似文献

A new binucleating ligand containing phenoxide as an endogenous bridging group, 2,6-diformyl-p-cresol bis(2-furanthiocarboxyhydrazone) and its binuclear Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) complexes with chloride ion as an exogenous bridge, have been obtained. The complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductivities, magnetic moment measurements at room temperature, electronic, IR, 1H-NMR, EPR, FAB spectral studies and thermal data. The copper complex assumes a tetranuclear structure composed of two binuclear units related by a center of symmetry. The dimeric nature of copper(II) complex is supported by FAB. This complex is EPR silent. Room temperature magnetic moment reveals the operation of a significant antiferromagnetic spin exchange between the metal centers. Ligand and its copper and zinc complexes exhibit fluorescence at room temperature in DMF. All the compounds show an appreciable antimicrobial activity.  相似文献

The ligand 2-anilino-4,6-di-tert-butylphenol and its 2-(3,5-dichloroanilino)-4,6-di-tert-butylphenol analogue react in CH(3)CN or CH(3)OH solutions with divalent transition metal ions in the presence of air and triethylamine. Depending on the metal:ligand ratio (1:1, 1:2, or 1:3) and the presence (or absence) of the cyclic amine 1,4-dimethyl-1,4,7-triazacyclononane (dmtacn), the following complexes have been isolated as crystalline solids: [Co(III)(L(ISQ))(3)] (1); [Cu(II)(dmtacn)(L(ISQ))]PF(6) (2); [Cu(II)(L(ISQ))(2)] (3); [Ni(II)(L(ISQ))(2)] (4a); [Ni(II)((Cl)L(ISQ))(2)] (4b); [Pd(II)(L(ISQ))(2)] (5). (L(ISQ))(-) represents the monoanionic o-iminobenzosemiquinonate radical (S(rad) = (1)/(2)). Compounds 1-5 have been characterized by single-crystal X-ray crystallography at 100(2) K. For all complexes it is unambiguously established that the O,N-coordinated o-iminobenzosemiquinonato(1-) ligand is present. Complexes 3, 4b, and 5 are square planar molecules which possess an S(t) = (1)/(2), 0, and 0 ground state, respectively, as was established by (1)H NMR and EPR spectroscopies and variable-temperature magnetic susceptibility measurements. Complex 2 possesses an S(t) = 1 ground state which is attained via strong intramolecular ferromagnetic coupling (J = +195 cm(-1)) between the d(x)2-(y)2 magnetic orbital of the Cu(II) ion and the pi-orbital of the ligand radical. Complex 1 contains three mutually orthogonal (L(ISQ))(-*) ligands and has an S(t) = (3)/(2) ground state. It is shown that the electronic structure of 4a and 5 is adequately described as singlet diradical containing a divalent, diamagnetic d(8) configurated central metal ion and two strongly antiferromagnetically coupled (L(ISQ))(-) radical ligands. It is concluded that the same electronic structure prevails in the classic bis(o-diiminobenzosemiquinonato)- and bis(o-benzosemiquinonato)metal complexes of Ni(II), Pd(II), and Pt(II). The electrochemistry of all complexes has been investigated in detail. For 3, 4a, and 5 a series of reversible one-electron-transfer waves leads to the formation of the anions and cations [M(L)(2)](2-),(1-),(1+),(2+) which have been characterized spectroelectrochemically. All redox processes are shown to be ligand-based.  相似文献

A series of heterometal cyclic tetranuclear complexes [Cu(II)LM(II)(hfac)](2) (M(II) = Zn (1), Cu (2), Ni (3), Co (4), Fe(5), and Mn (6)) have been synthesized by the assembly reaction of K[CuL] and [M(II)(hfac)(2)(H(2)O)(2)] with a 1:1 mole ratio in methanol, where H(3)L = 1-(2-hydroxybenzamido)-2-((2-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzylidene)amino)ethane and Hhfac = hexafluoroacetylacetone. The crystal structures of 2, 4, and [Cu(II)LMn(II)(acac)](2) (6a) (Hacac = acetylacetone) were determined by single-crystal X-ray analyses. Each complex has a cyclic tetranuclear Cu(II)(2)M(II)(2) structure, in which the Cu(II) complex functions as a "bridging ligand complex", and the Cu(II) and M(II) ions are alternately arrayed. One side of the planar Cu(II) complex coordinates to one M(II) ion at the two phenoxo and the methoxy oxygen atoms, and the opposite side of the Cu(II) complex coordinates to another M(II) ion at the amido oxygen atom. The temperature-dependent magnetic susceptibilities revealed spin states of S(M) = 0, 1/2, 1, 3/2, 2, and 5/2 for the Zn(II), Cu(II), Ni(II), Co(II), Fe(II), and Mn(II) ions, respectively. Satisfactory fittings to the observed magnetic susceptibility data were obtained by assuming a rectangular arrangement with two different g-factors for the Cu(II) and M(II) ions, two different isotropic magnetic exchange interactions, J(1) and J(2), between the Cu(II) and M(II) ions, and a zero-field splitting term for the M(II) ion. In all cases, the antiferromagnetic coupling constants were found for both exchange interactions suggesting nonzero spin ground states with S(T) = 2/S(M) - S(Cu)/, which were confirmed by the analysis of the field-dependent magnetization measurements.  相似文献

A new bis(bidentate) azine ligand was prepared by linking (1Z,1′Z)-1,1′-{butane-1,4-diylbis[oxybenzene-4,1-diyl(1Z)ethyl-1-ylidene]}dihydrazine to salicylaldehyde. Two kinds of binuclear copper(II) and nickel(II) complexes with different stoichiometries were prepared. Reaction of bis(azine) ligand with Cu(II) and Ni(II) acetate at a 1: 1 mole ratio gave double-stranded binuclear bis(azine) complexes with stoichiometry [M(L)(H2O)2]2 containing [M(II)N2O2] centres while at a 2: 1 mole ratio, reaction of Cu(II) and Ni(II) chloride with bis(azine) resulted in dinuclear metal complexes with the general stoichiometry [M2(L)Cl2(H2O)2]. Structures of the bis(azine) ligand and its complexes were identified by elemental analysis, IR and UV-VIS spectra, magnetic susceptibility measurements, TGA, and powder XRD. Extraction properties of the bis(azine) ligand towards some transition metal cations and dichromate anions were also reported. It was found that the bis(azine) ligand does not extract cations but it has high extraction ability towards dichromate anions.  相似文献

The synthesis and characterization of a mononuclear nickel(II) complex [Ni(L(2))](ClO(4))(2) (1) and an analogous mononuclear copper(II) complex [Cu(L(2))](ClO(4))(2) (2) of a 15-membered azamacrocycle (L(2) = 3-(2-pyridyl)-6,8,8,13,13,15-hexamethyl-1,2,4,5,9,12-hexaazacyclopentadeca-5,15-diene) are reported. The macrocyclic ligand is formed during the reaction of 4,4,9,9-tetramethyl-5,8-diazadodecane-2,11-dione dihydrazone (L(1)) with pyridine-2-aldehyde (PyCHO) templated by metal ions. The X-ray crystal structure of 1 exhibits a distorted square-pyramidal coordination geometry, where the metal ion sits in the macrocyclic cavity and the pendant pyridine group of L(2) occupies the axial position. While 1 is stable in the presence of an excess of PyCHO, 2 reacts further with copper(II) salt and PyCHO to form a mononuclear copper(I) complex, [Cu(H(2)L(3))](ClO(4))(3) (3). The structure of the complex cation of 3 reveals a distorted tetrahedral coordination geometry at the copper center with a pseudo 2-fold screw axis. A two-dimensional (2D) polymeric copper(II) complex, {[Cu(2)(L(4))(2)](ClO(4))(2)}(n) (4) is obtained by reacting complex 2 (or [Ni(L(1))](ClO(4))(2)) with copper(II) perchlorate and pyridine-2-aldehyde in a methanol-water solvent mixture. Complex 4 is also obtained by treating 3 with copper(II) perchlorate and pyridine-2-aldehyde in the presence of a base. The X-ray structural analysis of 4 confirms the formation of a pyrazolate bridged dimeric copper(II) complex. The extended structure in the solid state of 4 revealed the formation of a 2D coordination polymer with the dimeric core as the repeating unit. The ligand (HL(4)) in 4 is a 3,4,5-trisubstituted pyrazole ring formed in situ via C-C bond formation and represents an unprecedented transformation reaction.  相似文献

Four new copper (II)‐manganese (II) heterobinuclear complexes bridged byN, N'‐bis[2‐(dimethylamino)ethyl)]oxamido dianion (dmoxæ) and end‐capped with 1, 10‐phenanthroline (phen), 5‐methyl‐1, 10‐phenanthroline (Mephen), diaminoethane (en) or 1,3‐di‐aminopropane (pn). respectively, namely, [Cu(dmoxae)MnL2] (CIO4)2 (L=phen, Mephen, en, pn), have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, IR, electronic spectral studies, and molar conductivity measurements. The electronic reflectance spectrum indicates the presence of spin exchange‐coupling interaction between bridged copper(II) and manganese (II) ions. The cryomagnetic measurements (4.2‐300 K) of [Cu(dmoxae)Mn(phen)2](CIO4)2 (1) and [Cu(dmoxae)Mn(Mephen)2](CIO4)2(2) complexes demonstrated an antiferromagnetic interaction between the adjacent manganese(II) and copper (II) ions through the oxamido‐bridge within each molecule. On the basis of spin Hamiltonian, H= ‐ 2JS1. S2. the magnetic analysis was carried out for the two complexes and the spin‐coupling constant (J) was evaluated as ?35.9 cm?1 for 1 and ‐ 32.6 cm?1 for 2. The influence of methyl substitutions in the amine groups of the bridging ligand on magnetic interactions between the metal ions of this kind of complexes is also discussed.  相似文献
