A series of novel low band gap donor-acceptor (D-A) type organic co-polymers (BT-F-TPA,BT-CZ-TPA and BT-SI-TPA) consisting of electron-deficient acceptor blocks both in main chains (M1) and at the pendant (M2) were polymerized with different electron rich donor (M3-M5) blocks,i.e.,9,9-dihexyl-9H-fluorene,N-alkyl-2,7-carbazole,and 2,6-dithinosilole,respectively,via Suzuki method. These polymers exhibited relatively low band gaps (1.65-1.88 eV) and broad absorption ranges (680-740 nm).Bulk heterojunction (BHJ) solar cells incorporating these polymers as electron donors, blended with [6,6]-phenyl-C61-butyric acid methyl ester (PC61BM) or [6,6]-phenyl-C71-butyric acid methyl ester (PC71BM) as electron-acceptors in different weight ratios were fabricated and tested under 100 mW/cm2 of AM 1.5 with white-light illumination. The photovoltaic device containing donor BT-SI-TPA and acceptor PC71BM in 1:2 weight ratio showed the best power conversion efficiency (PCE) value of 1.88%,with open circuit voltage (Voc) =0.75 V,short circuit current density (Jsc) =7.60 mA/cm2,and fill factor (FF) =33.0%.  相似文献

A series of acene-modified small molecules have been designed and synthesized, and their photovoltaic characteristics were studied by using the small molecules in organic photovoltaics (OPVs). Different cores were introduced to modulate the conjugation lengths of the small molecules and the bulk heterojunction (BHJ) morphologies. Three small-molecule donors were prepared, namely Ph-TTR, Na-TTR, and An-TTR, which have phenyl, naphthalene, and anthracene moieties, respectively, as conjugated cores. These donors were synthesized in a few steps and exhibited favorable BHJ morphologies, thereby giving promising power conversion efficiencies (PCEs). The donors showed excellent miscibility with the acceptor PC71BM, and the use of the additive 1,8-diiodooctane (DIO) led to a remarkable increase in crystallinity, thereby increasing the PCEs of their OPVs. Of the three donors, Na-TTR showed the most efficient charge carrier generation and favorable molecular packing structures; hence, of the three types of devices tested, the Na-TTR:PC71BM devices exhibited the highest PCE, specifically 6.27 %, without pre- or post-treatments. The promising PCEs achieved from these easily synthesized acene-modified small molecules suggested that acene-modified small molecules can be useful materials in OPVs.  相似文献

One pair of isomers, centrosymmetric anti- Py - 1 and axisymmetric syn- Py - 2 , was designed and synthesized with an acceptor–donor–acceptor (A–D–A) structure by choosing dithienocyclopentapyrene with four 4-hexylphenyl side chains as the D unit, and 2-(5,6-difluoro-3-oxo-2,3-dihydro-1H-inden-1-ylidene) malononitrile as the A unit. In-depth structure–property relationship studies revealed that the isomers have similar UV/Vis absorption, fluorescence emission, and energy levels but significant differences in molecular shape, polarity, and charge mobility. Solution-processed bulk-heterojunction (BHJ) small-molecule organic solar cells with Py - 1 as the electron-acceptor material and PTB7-Th as the electron-donor material exhibit a power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 6.07 %, or 60 % higher than that of Py - 2 (3.7 %), which could be mainly attributed to the higher and more balanced hole/electron mobilities and better phase separation of the Py - 1 -based active layer.  相似文献

Two small molecules named PI‐DPP and NI‐DPP with a DPP core as the central strong acceptor unit and phthalimide/naphthalimide as the terminal weak acceptor were designed and synthesized. The effects of terminal phthalimide/naphthalimide units on the thermal behavior, optical and electrochemical properties, as well as the photovoltaic performance of these two materials were systematically studied. Cyclic voltammetry revealed that the lowest unoccupied molecular orbitals (LUMO) (~ ‐3.6 eV) of both molecules were intermediate to common electron donor (P3HT) and acceptor (PCBM). This indicated that PI‐DPP and NI‐DPP may uniquely serve as electron donor when blended with PCBM, and as electron acceptor when blended with P3HT, where sufficient driving forces between DPPs and PCBM, as well as between P3HT and DPPs should be created for exciton dissociation. Using as electron donor materials, PI‐DPP and NI‐DPP devices exhibited low power conversion efficiencies (PCEs) of 0.90% and 0.76% by blending with PCBM, respectively. And a preliminary evaluation of the potential of the NI‐DPP as electron acceptor material was carried out using P3HT as a donor material, and P3HT: NI‐DPP device showed a PCE of 0.6%, with an open circuit voltage (V OC) of 0.7 V, a short circuit current density (J SC) of 1.91 mA•cm‐2, and a fill factor (FF) of 45%.  相似文献

Three small molecules with the same arms and different cores of perylene diimide(PDI)or indaceno[2,1-b:6,5-b']dithiophene(IDT)were designed and synthesized as the acceptor materials for P3HT-based bulk-heterojunction(BHJ)solar cells. The impacts of the different cores on the optical absorption, electrochemical properties, electron mobility, film morphology, photoluminescene characteristics, and solar cell performance were thoroughly studied. The three compounds possess a broad absorption covering the wavelength range of 400–700 nm and relatively low lowest unoccupied molecular orbital(LUMO)energy levels of?3.86,?3.81 and?3.99 eV.The highest power conversion efficiency of 0.82%was achieved for the BHJ solar cells based on SM3 as the acceptor material, the compound with a PDI core.  相似文献

The paper is devoted to the development of the light-sensitive layers in which the image with nonlinear optical (NLO), photoelectric and photorefractive (PR) properties arises as a result of the photochemical reaction. Layers were obtained by using poly(hydroxyaminoether) (PHAE) containing electron-donor aromatic amino-groups in polymer chains doped with tetrabromomethane as an acceptor. The amino-groups and tetrabromomethane molecules form donor–acceptor complexes the photoexcitation of which induces electron transfer from the donor to the acceptor leading to the synthesis of a colored polycation product which possesses charge carrier photo-generating and NLO properties. Besides, these layers are electron-transporting. This allowed to obtain light-sensitive layers for recording NLO and PR images and pictures.  相似文献

Four novel donor ? π‐bridge ? acceptor (D ? π ? A) polymeric metal complexes (P1–P4) based on 8‐hydroxyquinoline metal complexes were synthesized and tested for their performance in dye‐sensitized solar cells (DSSCs). The polymeric metal complexes dyes use alkoxy benzene or alkyl fluorene as the electron donor and C=C as π linker; the 8‐hydroxyquinoline derivative complex part was used as the electron acceptor and diaminomaleonitrile was used as ancillary ligand. The two strongly electron‐withdrawing cyano groups in the polymer structure can provide an efficient charge transport in the intramolecular between donor and acceptor parts. The thermal, photophysical, electrochemical and photovoltaic properties of these copolymers were investigated by TGA, differential scanning calorimetry, cyclic voltammetry and cureent density‐voltage curves, and the results showed that dye containing complex Zn(II) and alkoxy benzene unit benefited the generation of photocurrent and open‐circuit voltages, and a maximum power conversion efficiency of 1.91% (P2) was obtained, with an open‐circuit voltage of 0.71 V, a short‐circuit current density of 4.23 mA cm?2, and a fill factor of 38.6% under AM1.5G irradiation. The study results also show that the four polymers exhibit good thermal stability, indicating that these polymeric metal complexes are suitable for the fabrication processes of optoelectronic devices. This article is written from an organic chemist's point of view and provides an up-to-date review about organic solar cells based on small molecules or oligomers as absorbers and in detail deals with devices that incorporate planar-heterojunctions (PHJ) and bulk heterojunctions (BHJ) between a donor (p-type semiconductor) and an acceptor (n-type semiconductor) material. The article pays particular attention to the design and development of molecular materials and their performance in corresponding devices. In recent years, a substantial amount of both, academic and industrial research, has been directed towards organic solar cells, in an effort to develop new materials and to improve their tunability, processability, power conversion efficiency, and stability. On the eve of commercialization of organic solar cells, this review provides an overview over efficiencies attained with small molecules/oligomers in OSCs and reflects materials and device concepts developed over the last decade. Approaches to enhancing the efficiency of organic solar cells are analyzed.  相似文献

In order to identify high-performance non-fused ring electron acceptors for bulk heterojunction (BHJ) solar cells, six structurally diverse molecules are designed and categorized into two series. The first series is anchored by R1 as the reference molecule, featured fixed BDT, IC-2F end groups and modified π bridges. The second series is anchored by R2 as the reference molecule, incorporated a terminal IC-2F and a central core modified with EDOT bridge. The electronic structure and photoelectric properties of all acceptor molecules were investigated using density functional theory (DFT) and time-dependent density functional theory (TD-DFT). Charge transfer matrix (CTM), Density of states (DOS) and Reorganization energy (RE) etc. were analyzed to provide fundamental knowledge on charge transport and electronic excitation. Among the studied molecules, W2 exhibited a smaller energy gap (1.74 eV) compared to the other molecules, effectively transferring its electron from HOMO to LUMO. At the same time, the W2 molecule has excellent Voc and FF. Furthermore, W2 displayed the largest λmax redshift compared to R1. Although W3 had a smaller value of λh, the comprehensive photovoltaic parameters of W2 were more excellent. The research results not only demonstrated the feasibility of introducing different alkoxy groups to alter the structure of the π bridge and central core is a feasible method for constructing high-performance NFREAs, but also highlighted that BDT cores combined with EDOT bridges are among the most promising small molecule acceptors (SMAs) that could be considered as reasonable candidates for synthesis and incorporation into organic solar cells. The results of this study are expected to provide seminal ideas for the design of high-performance non-fullerene acceptors.  相似文献

A polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane-[60]fullerene (POSS-C60) dyad was designed and used as a novel electron acceptor for bulk heterojunction (BHJ) polymer solar cells (PSCs) with an inverted device configuration. The studies of time-resolved photoinduced absorption of the pristine thin film of poly[(4,4’-bis(2-ethylhexyl)dithieno[3,2-b:2’,3’-d]silole)-2,6-diyl-alt-(4,7-bis (2-thienyl)-2,1,3-benzothiadiazole)-5,5’-diyl] (SiPCPDTBT) and the composite thin film of SiPCPDTBT:POSS-C60 indicated efficient electron transfer from SiPCPDTBT to POSS-C60 with inhibited back-transfer. BHJ PSCs made by SiPCPDTBT mixed with POSS-C60 yielded the power conversion efficiencies (PCEs) of 1.50%. Under the same operational conditions, PCEs observed from BHJ PSCs made by SiPCPDTBT mixed with [6,6]-phenyl-C61-butyric acid methyl ester were 0.92%. These results demonstrated that POSS-C60 is a potentially good electron acceptor for inverted BHJ PSCs.  相似文献

For over two decades bulk‐heterojunction polymer solar cell (BHJ‐PSC) research was dominated by donor:acceptor BHJ blends based on polymer donors and fullerene molecular acceptors. This situation has changed recently, with non‐fullerene PSCs developing very rapidly. The power conversion efficiencies of non‐fullerene PSCs have now reached over 15 %, which is far above the most efficient fullerene‐based PSCs. Among the various non‐fullerene PSCs, all‐polymer solar cells (APSCs) based on polymer donor‐polymer acceptor BHJs have attracted growing attention, due to the following attractions: 1) large and tunable light absorption of the polymer donor/polymer acceptor pair; 2) robustness of the BHJ film morphology; 3) compatibility with large scale/large area manufacturing; 4) long‐term stability of the cell to external environmental and mechanical stresses. This Minireview highlights the opportunities offered by APSCs, selected polymer families suitable for these devices with optimization to enhance the performance further, and discusses the challenges facing APSC development for commercial applications.  相似文献

Photovoltaic technology is an alternative resource for renewable and sustainable energy and low costs organic photovoltaic devices such as bulk-heterojunction (BHJ) solar cells, which are selective candidates for the effective conversion of solar energy into electricity. Asymmetric phthalocyanines containing electron acceptor and donor groups create high photovoltaic conversion efficiency in dye sensitized solar cells. In this study, a new unsymmetrical zinc phthalocyanine was designed and synthesized including thiophene and amine groups at peripherally positions for BHJ solar cell. The structure of the targeted compound (4) was characterized comprehensively by FT-IR, UV–Vis, 1H-NMR, and MALDI-TOF MS spectroscopies. The potential of this compound in bulk heterojunction (BHJ) photovoltaic devices as donor was also researched as function of blend ratio (blend ratio was varied from 0.5 to 4). For this purpose, a series of BHJ devices with the structure of fluorine doped indium tin oxide (FTO)/poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrene sulfonate)/ ZnPc:[6,6]- phenyl-C61- butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM) blend/Al with identical thickness of ZnPc:PCBM layer were fabricated and characterized. Photo current measurements in 4 revealed that the observed photo current maximum is consistent with UV-vis spectra of the compound of 4. Preliminary studies showed that the blend ratio has a critical effect on the BHJ device performance parameters. Photovoltaic conversion efficiency of 6.14% was achieved with 4 based BHJ device.  相似文献

The heteroaromatic polynitrile compound tetracyanopyridine (TCNPy) is introduced as a new electron acceptor for the formation of deeply colored charge‐transfer complexes. In MeCN, TCNPy is characterized by a quasireversible one‐electron‐reduction process at ?0.51 V (versus SCE). The tetracyanopyridine radical anion undergoes a secondary chemical reaction, which is assigned to a protonation step. TCNPy has been demonstrated to generate 1:1 complexes with various electron donors, including tetrathiafulvalene (TTF) and dihydroxybenzene derivatives, such as p‐hydroquinone and catechol. Visible‐ or NIR‐light‐induced excitation of the intense charge‐transfer bands of these compounds leads to a direct optical electron‐transfer process for the formation of the corresponding radical‐ion pairs. The presence of available electron donors that contain protic groups in close proximity to the TCNPy acceptor site opens up a new strategy for the photocontrolled generation of pyridinium radicals in a stepwise proton‐coupled electron‐transfer (PCET) sequence.  相似文献

The roles of hydrogen bonds in the solvation of an excess electron and a lithium atom in water hexamer cluster at 150 K have been studied by means of ab initio molecular dynamics simulations. It is found that the hydrogen bonded structures of (H(2)O)(6)(-) and Li(H(2)O)(6) clusters are very different from each other and they dynamically evolve from one conformer to other along their simulation trajectories. The populations of the single acceptor, double acceptor, and free type water molecules are found to be significantly high unlike that in pure water clusters. Free hydrogens of these type of water molecules primarily capture the unbound electron density in these clusters. It is found that the binding motifs of the free electron evolve with time and the vertical detachment energy of (H(2)O)(6)(-) and vertical ionization energy of Li(H(2)O)(6) also change with time. Assignments of the observed peaks in vibrational power spectra are done, and we found direct correlations between the time-averaged population of water molecules in different hydrogen bonding states and the spectral features. The dynamical aspects of these clusters have also been studied through calculations of time correlations of instantaneous stretch frequencies of OH modes which are obtained from the simulation trajectories through a time series analysis.  相似文献

Density functional theory calculations have been used to investigate the structure and bonding of the d(3)d(3) bioctahedral complexes X(3)V(mu-S(CH(3))(2))(3)VX(3)(2)(-) (X = F(-), Cl(-), OH(-), SH(-), NH(2)(-)). According to geometry optimizations using the broken-symmetry approach and the VWN+B-LYP combination of density functionals, the halide-terminated complexes have a V-V bond order of approximately 2, while complexes featuring OH(-), SH(-), or NH(2)(-) as terminal ligands exhibit full triple bonding between the vanadium atoms. The tendency toward triple bonding in the latter complexes is consistent with an increased covalency of the vanadium-ligand bonds, and the influence of bond covalency is apparent also in the tendency for V-V bond elongation in the complexes with OH(-) and NH(2)(-) terminal ligands. Detailed examination of the composition of molecular orbitals in all of the thioether-bridged V(II) complexes substantiates the conclusion that the strong antiferromagnetic coupling which we have determined for these complexes (-J > 250 cm(-)(1)) is due to direct bonding between metal atoms rather than superexchange through the bridging ligands. As such, these V(II) complexes comprise the first apparent examples of multiple metal-metal bonding in first-transition-row, face-shared dinuclear complexes and are therefore of considerable structural and synthetic interest.  相似文献

Fischer carbene complexes 1-7 are not ionized under standard electrospray ionization (ESI) conditions. We report here that unsaturated chromium and tungsten (Fischer) carbene complexes can be ionized in an electrospray ion source in the presence of electron-donor compounds such as hydroquinone (HQ) or tetrathiafulvalene (TTF). The addition of these compounds, which seem to act as electron transfer agents, permits the recording and study of their ESI mass spectra in the negative mode of detection. Both chromium and tungsten(0) carbene complexes undergo in the first fragmentation stage a double simultaneous decarbonylation process.  相似文献

Triarylboranes that exhibit p–π* conjugation serve as versatile building blocks to design n-type organic/polymer semiconductors. A series of new molecular acceptors based on triarylborane is reported here. These molecules are designed with a boron atom that bears a bulky 2,4,6-tri-tert-butylphenyl (Mes*) substituent at the core and strong electron-withdrawing 2-(3-oxo-2,3-dihydroinden-1-ylidene)malononitrile (IC) units as the end-capping groups that are linked to the core by bithiophene bridges. Butyl or butoxy groups are introduced to the bithiophene units to tune the optoelectronic properties. These molecules show nearly planar backbones with highly localized steric hindrance at the core, low LUMO/HOMO energy levels, and broad absorption bands spanning the visible region, which are all very desirable characteristics for use as electron acceptors in organic solar cell (OSC) applications. The attachment of butyl groups to the bithiophene bridges brings about a slightly twisted backbone, which in turn promotes good solubility and homogeneous donor/acceptor blend morphology, whereas the introduction of butoxy groups leads to improved planarity, favorable stacking in the film state, and a greatly reduced band gap. OSC devices based on these molecules exhibit encouraging photovoltaic performances with power conversion efficiencies reaching up to 4.07 %. These results further substantiate the strong potential of triarylboranes as the core unit of small molecule acceptors for OSC applications.  相似文献

Previous investigation of transfer of electron density accompanying hydrogen bond formation has been extended to complexes between positively charged donors and neutral acceptors, as well as to the complexes between a neutral donor and a negatively charged acceptor molecules. The amount of transferred electron density from acceptor to donor for the charged complexes may be adequately described by the same exponential dependence on the equilibrium distance between the hydrogen atom and the nearest atom of the acceptor molecule as it was found for neutral complexes. Relation of the H‐bond energy to electron density at the H‐bond critical point was dependent on the sign of Laplacian of the electron density. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Novel charge transfer (CT) complexes containing donor and acceptor derivatives of diphenyldiacetylene have been synthesised and characterised. The structure of CT complexes was modelled at the B3LYP/6-31G(d)//B3LYP/6-31G(d) level of theory. It was found that the complex formation is mainly due to dipole–dipole interaction between side groups of diacetylene molecules and there was no significant charge transfer between donor and acceptor in the ground state. On the other hand, optical excitation of CT complexes leads to strong charge transfer from donor to acceptor molecule as followed from the modelling using time-dependent density functional theory (DFT) method. Diacetylene molecules adopt strongly bent configuration in CT complexes which is prohibitive for solid-state topochemical polymerisation of diacetylenes  相似文献

Heterobimetallic complexes comprised of W(CO)4 adducts of (N2S2)M(NO) have been isolated and characterized by nu(CO) and nu(NO)IR spectroscopies and X-ray diffraction. The molecular structures of (N2S2)M(NO) compounds (bme-dach)Co(NO), [(bme-dach)Co(NO)]W(CO)4, and [(bme-dach)Fe(NO)]W(CO)4 [bme-dach = N, N'-bis(2-mercaptoethyl)-1,4-diazacycloheptane)] find the square-pyramidal (bme-dach)M(NO) unit to serve as a bidentate ligand via the cis-dithiolato sulfurs, with a hinge angle of the butterfly bimetallic structures of ca. 130 degrees . The W(CO)4 moiety is used as a probe of the electron-donor ability of the nitrosyl complexes through CO stretching frequencies that display a minor increase as compared to analogous [(N2S2)Ni]W(CO)4 complexes. These findings are consistent with the electron-withdrawing influence of the {Co(NO)}(8) and {Fe(NO)}(7) units on the bridging thiolate sulfurs relative to Ni(2+). Also sensitive to derivatization by W(CO)4 is the NO stretch, which blue shifts by ca. 30 and 50 cm(-1) for the Co and Fe complexes, respectively. Cyclic voltammetry studies find similar reduction potentials (-1.08 V vs NHE in N, N-dimethylformamide solvent) of the (bme-dach)Co(NO) and (bme-dach)Fe(NO) free metalloligands, which are positively shifted by ca. 0.61 and 0.48 V, respectively, upon complexation to W(CO)4.  相似文献
