Dual wavelength lasers are discussed, covering fundamental aspects on the spectroscopy and laser dynamics of these systems. Results on Tm:Ho:Er:YAG dual wavelength laser action (Ho at 2.1 μm and Er at 2.9 μm) as well as Nd:YAG (1.06 and 1.3 μm) are presented as examples of such dual wavelength systems. Dual wavelength lasers are not common, but there are criteria that govern their behavior. Based on experimental studies demonstrating simultaneous dual wavelength lasing, some general conclusions regarding the successful operation of multi-wavelength lasers can be made.  相似文献

针对光伏型中波HgCdTe双色红外探测器作了优化模拟计算,器件采用典型n-p-p-p-n结构和同时工作模式,建立的二维模型考虑了辐射复合、俄歇复合和Shockley-Read-Hall(SRH)复合三种复合机理,以及深能级辅助隧穿和带间直接隧穿效应,载流子穿过阻挡层势垒的隧道效应采用传递矩阵法计算.分析了双色器件光谱响应随吸收区SRH复合少子(电子)寿命的变化关系,以及串音与阻挡层组分的关系.模拟结果显示,随吸收区少子寿命变短,量子效率迅速下降;为了使器件有较高的量子效率,HgCdTe材料的SRH复合电子寿命应该至少在10ns以上.随阻挡层组分增大,势垒增高,串音迅速减小,大约在阻挡层组分差为0.03时下降到光学串音决定的稳定值,得出了抑制电学串音,阻挡层组分差的临界值为0.03. 关键词: HgCdTe中波双色红外探测器 光谱响应 光谱串音 少子寿命  相似文献

The wavelength conversion of femtosecond laser pulses in laser plasmas containing clusters of different nature and dimension (fullerenes, metal nanoparticles) is studied. Pulses of a titanium-sapphire laser are used in combination with orthogonally polarized second-harmonic pulses as radiation to be converted. Variations in the generation efficiency of higher harmonics are analyzed under conditions of phase-modulated pulses. It is shown that the optimization of components of a nonlinear optical plasma medium, of plasma excitation conditions by single- and two-color pumps, and of phase and spectral parameters of radiation to be converted leads to a considerable increase in the generation efficiency of higher harmonics.  相似文献

The ionization current generated by two-color laser interaction with different gas atoms can produce strong terahertz(THz) emissions.The ionization potential of atoms determines the ionization rate.Thus,THz emission from different atoms varies.Particle-in-cell simulations are conducted to investigate the THz emission from He,Ne,Ar,and N.The THz emissions as a function of the laser field are different because the ionization rate and electron speed depend on the laser field and ionization potential.  相似文献

We present a simple, easy, and straightforward spectroscopic approach for the determination of the wavelength of pulsed laser systems with an accuracy of ≤0.006 cm-1 (180 MHz). This is better than currently realised by the best commercially available wavemeters for pulsed laser systems. As an example, the temperature dependence of the emitted wavelength of a pulsed Nd:YAG laser has been studied in detail. Our measurements indicate that the passively Q-switched monolithic nonplanar ring-oscillator Nd:YAG laser with a free spectral range of the resonator of about 5.8 GHz can be tuned without mode hops over a range of 3.8 GHz. Based on the physical fact that a laser containing a gain medium with homogenous line broadening oscillates at the wavelength which requires the smallest threshold gain due to the mode competition effect, after taking into account the wavelength-depended reflectivity distribution profile of a fiber Bragg grating, the oscillation wavelength λl of fiber Bragg grating semiconductor lasers has been investigated theoretically. The results show that the laser oscillation wavelength λB is not fixed at the Bragg reflection wavelength λl of fiber Bragg grating, and the offset between λB and λl depends on the reflectivity distribution profile of fiber Bragg grating and the gain profile of semiconductor gain medium.  相似文献

The authors present two approaches to X-ray laser development at Princeton and review progress toward the wavelength region below 10 nm. In addition, they present the first results from the application of the existing soft X-ray laser at 18.2 nm to X-ray microscopy. Fast wavelength scanning of an external-cavity quantum cascade laser (EC-QCL) has been developed using a modified Littrow-type cavity configuration. Scan rates up to 5 kHz and tuning ranges up to 7 cm−1 have been realized using folded cavity arrangement with a fast piezoactuated intracavity mirror to vary the effective diffraction grating angle. High-resolution molecular spectroscopy, limited primarily by the effective laser linewidth, has been demonstrated in pulsed and CW mode using direct absorption spectroscopy of ammonia and ethylene in the 10-μm wavelength region. A high-resolution broadband spectral scan employing mode-hop-free tuning of a set of discrete laser modes within the fast frequency scan has been developed. The method has been demonstrated by performing high-resolution broadband spectrum of ethylene under atmospheric and reduced pressures.  相似文献

High frequency wavelength modulation spectroscopy with diode lasers is accomplished by dithering the drive current at RF frequencies as high as 250 MHz. This technique is useful for fast and sensitive detection of absorption lines in the near-and mid-infrared spectral regions. Detection of 300 MHz wide spectral features corresponding to 1% changes in transmission is accomplished in time intervals as short as 500 ns. A potential application is for fast reading of information contained in frequency domain optical memories based upon photochemical hole burning.  相似文献

We have demonstrated a reduction of the timing jitter between passively synchronized Ti:sapphire and Cr:forsterite mode-locked lasers into a 100-attosecond (as) regime by suppressing slow fluctuations with the use of active slow-bandwidth extracavity feedback. This active-passive hybrid synchronization scheme permits the achievement of timing jitters of 98 +/- 18 as at a bandwidth of 100 kHz and of 126 +/- 20 as at a bandwidth of 1 MHz for as long as 100 s.  相似文献

We report a novel technique for the synchronization of two different femtosecond solid-state lasers by crossing of both laser pulses in a Kerr medium. Stable dual-wavelength femtosecond pulses at central wavelengths of 820 and 1250 nm have been obtained. The tolerance of cavity-length mismatch is ~0.6mum , where the pulse widths of the Ti:sapphire and the Cr:forsterite lasers are 18 and 40 fs, respectively, at average powers of 600 and 110 mW. The typical timing jitter derived from the cross correlation is less than 3 fs.  相似文献

During the last few years free electron lasers (FELs) based on self-amplified spontaneous emission (SASE) have been demonstrated at wavelengths of 12 m [1], 830 nm [2], 530 nm [3] and 385 nm [3], and around 100 nm [4]. Recently, saturation has been observed in the vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) spectral region between 82 nm and 125 nm at the TESLA Test Facility (TTF) at DESY. The radiation pulses have been characterized with respect to pulse energy, statistical fluctuations, angular divergence and spectral distribution, both in the linear gain and in the saturation regime of the FEL [5-6].
