A New Criterion for Controlling the Number of Limit Cycles of Some Generalized Liénard Equations

We consider a class of planar differential equations which include the Liénard differential equations. By applying the Bendixson-Dulac Criterion for ?-connected sets we reduce the study of the number of limit cycles for such equations to the condition that a certain function of just one variable does not change sign. As an application, this method is used to give a sharp upper bound for the number of limit cycles of some Liénard differential equations. In particular, we present a polynomial Liénard system with exactly three limit cycles.     

On <Emphasis Type="Italic">t</Emphasis><Superscript>2</Superscript>-like solutions of certain second order differential equations

Via an integral transformation, we establish two embedding results between the Emden-Fowler type equation , t ≥ t ₀ > 0, with solutions x such that as , , and the equation , u > 0, with solutions y such that for given k > 0. The conclusions of our investigation are used to derive conditions for the existence of radial solutions to the elliptic equation , , that blow up as in the two dimensional case.      

On Nonhomogeneous Second Order Difference Inclusions of Accretive Type in Banach Spaces

In this paper, we investigate the existence, uniqueness and asymptotic behavior of solutions to a nonhomogeneous second order difference inclusion of accretive type in Banach spaces. We develop new methods and significantly extend and improve some known results in the literature. Our conclusions are new even for Hilbert spaces.
