The present paper reports studies on the applicability of fluorescent lamp phosphors in accidental radiation dosimetry. Strontium orthophosphate, which is used as one of the components in the fluorescent lamps, has been studied for its thermo-luminescence (TL) characteristics on exposure to different doses of beta irradiation. The analysis of the TL glow curve of the phosphor, with a well-defined glow peak at 553 K, and other experiments carried out have proved the utility of strontium orthophosphate as dosimetric material in the range of 10–200 Gy. It has been observed that the material satisfies most of the fundamental criteria for a good TLD-material. A fluorescent lamp developed with this material as TLD grade lamp phosphor is thus expected to serve twin purposes of providing illumination and monitoring the radiation released during a nuclear accident.  相似文献

With the increasing use of nuclear energy, there is a need for a wider range of efficient dosimeters for radiation detection and assessment. There has been a tremendous growth in the development of radiation detectors and devices in the past few decades. In recent years, the development of new materials for radiation dosimetry has progressed significantly. Alkaline earth sulfides (AES) have been known for a long time as excellent and versatile phosphor materials. In the present investigation, a number of phosphor samples such as mono-, binary and ternary sulfides of alkaline earths (II^a-VI^b) have been prepared and their TL properties have been studied with respect to exposure (x-ray) response and fading. In this paper, some results on SrS:Eu, Sm and CaS:Eu, Sm phosphors are presented. A type of novel OSL dosimeter is described. The dosimeter takes advantage of the characteristics of charge trapping materials SrS:Eu, Sm and CaS:Eu, Sm that exhibit optically stimulated luminescence (OSL). The measuring range of the dosimeter is from 0.01 to 1000 Gy. The OSL dosimeters provide capability for remote monitoring radiation locations which are difficult to access and hazardous. This equipment is relatively simple, small in size and has low power consumption. The device is suitable for space radiation dose exploration. In addition, it also can be used in IC and other radiation occasions and has good prospects.  相似文献

通过工质爆燃,产生了具有很宽频谱的电磁辐射。用4个宽带天线从不同方向对球形工质产生的电磁辐射进行了接收测量,并对信号作了频谱分析。实验结果表明:150 g工质爆炸产生的电磁脉冲持续时间为50 ns,上升沿很陡,频谱连续,频率范围为1~4 GHz,峰值频率为2 GHz,功率为2 W。对爆燃型工质产生电磁辐射的机理进行了初步理论探讨,认为等离子体辐射可能是产生电磁辐射的源。  相似文献

In information theory, entropy expresses the information gain obtained after detection of a signal concerning the state of a parameter of interest. In this study, entropy has been expressed in terms of physical quantities (emitted optical fluence and MTF) related to the imaging performance of phosphor materials, which are employed in medical imaging radiation detectors. Four phosphor materials, used in the form of laboratory-prepared fluorescent layers (screens), were compared on the basis of their entropy performance. Measurements were performed using 30- and 80-kVp X-ray beams often employed in X-ray imaging. Results showed that phosphor materials with high density and effective atomic number exhibit high entropy performance, especially at the higher X-ray tube voltage of 80 kVp. Entropy values are also affected by the type of activator, which determines the intrinsic X-ray-to-light conversion efficiency, and the spectrum of emitted light. The proximity of the incident X-ray quanta energy to the energy of the K-shell threshold for photoelectric absorption is an additional important factor which increases entropy. This effect was more apparent in the performance of yttrium-based phosphors at the lower voltage of 30 kVp. The availability of high-brilliance X-ray sources, high-precision X-ray focusing optics and very efficient CCD area detectors has contributed essentially to the development of transmission X-ray microscopy (TXM) and X-ray computed tomography (XCT) with sub-50 nm resolution. Particularly, the fabrication of high aspect ratio Fresnel zone plates with zone widths approaching 15 nm has contributed to the enormous improvement in spatial resolution during the previous years. Currently, Fresnel zone plates give the ability to reach spatial resolutions of 15 to 20 nm in the soft and of about 30 to 50 nm in the hard X-ray energy range. X-ray microscopes with rotating anode X-ray sources that can be installed in an analytical lab next to a semiconductor fab have been developed recently. These unique TXM/XCT systems provide an important new capability of nondestructive 3D imaging of internal circuit structures without destructive sample preparation such as cross sectioning. These lab systems can be used for failure localization in micro- and nanoelectronic structures and devices, e.g., to visualize voids and residuals in on-chip metal interconnects without physical modification of the chip. Synchrotron radiation experiments have been used to study new processes and materials that have to be introduced into the semiconductor industry. The potential of TXM using synchrotron radiation in the soft X-ray energy range is shown for the nondestructive in situ imaging of void evolution in embedded on-chip copper interconnect structures during electromigration and for the imaging of different types of insulating thin films between the on-chip interconnects (spectromicroscopy).  相似文献

通过对一系列Ca5(PO4)3F:Ce和Ca5(PO4)3F:Ce,Mn(以下简称FAP:Ce和FAP:Ce,Mn)样品在荧光灯中和在强紫外光(185nm+254nm)辐照下,发光效率衰减规律及样品漫反射光谱的变化的研究,并与普通卤粉((F,Cl)AP:Sb,Mn)进行对比,发现了该材料的老化速率与样品组分的关系,即随着材料中Ce浓度的增大和氧空位的增多,老化速率变快。并根据Ryan老化理论,对材料老化的物理机制进行了初步的推测。  相似文献

Abstract

A series of studies on the partial X-ray diffuse scattering intensities from ternary alloys analysed through synchrotron radiation experiments has been reviewed. An intensity expression for the short-range order diffuse scattering has been developed, which is necessary in understanding the separation method of an observed X-ray diffuse intensity into partial intensities contributed from different origins. Techniques have been described in detail mainly concerning the Cu2NiZn alloy, which have shown the benefits of the anomalous scattering effect of synchrotron radiation. The negative partial intensity maximum for the Cu-Ni pair found in the Cu-Ni-Zn alloy has been discussed from the viewpoints of crystallography and thermodynamics. In addition, at the end of the paper, local atomic arrangements causing the diffuse scatterings have been discussed.  相似文献

Er3+ doped ZnO-CaO-Al2O3 nano-composite phosphor has been synthesized through combustion method and its emission and harmonic generation properties have been studied. The X-ray diffraction and thermal analysis techniques have been used to prove the dual phase (ZnO and CaO-Al2O3) nature of the phosphor. The phosphor has shown up-conversion emission on near-infra-red (976 nm) excitation and down-conversion emission on 355 nm excitation in presence of Er3+ and thus behaves as a dual mode phosphor. On excitation with 976 nm diode laser, material shows color tunability (calcination of composite material at different temperatures). Formation of ZnO nanocrystals on heat treatment of as-synthesized sample has shown its characteristic emission at 388 nm and also the energy transfer from ZnO to Er3+ ions. The low temperature emission measurements have been carried out and the results have been discussed. Phosphor has shown strong second harmonic generation (SHG) at 532 nm on 1064 nm and at 266 nm on 532 nm excitation.  相似文献

To study processes in a high-current vacuum diode with a cathode in the form of a single pin made of a metallic wire 20–30 μm in diameter, the method of high-resolution projection X-ray radiography with an X-pinch as a source has been used. A strong inhomogeneity of the energy contribution to the wire has been revealed. The smallest energy release has been observed near the end of the pin, where the electric field strength is maximal. Hard X rays, as well as the ejection of matter from the anode, have been observed, indicating the generation of an electron beam with the parameters characteristic of explosive electron emission in the diode with this configuration. The data obtained indicate complex processes occurring in the diode. Possible scenarios of their development have been considered.  相似文献

使用多道软X光能谱仪测量黑腔辐射能流时间过程并使用最小二乘法将多道谱仪的响应函数线性组合为等效平响应。针对惯性约束聚变实验中软X光能谱强度分布不均匀、等效平响应局部不平带来的误差,提出了辐射能流求解的加权改进算法。对不同谱形和等效积分温度的能谱进行了计算,比较了不同方法得到的能流还原能力。改进后的方法应用于实验数据的处理,得到了修正后的等效积分温度随时间的演化过程。  相似文献

Thermoluminescence (TL) properties of LiF: Mg, Cu, Si phosphor prepared in multicrystalline form using edge defined film fed growth (EFG) technique has been investigated. The effect of preparation route on TL properties and thermal stability has been studied. To improve the TL dosimetry properties, phosphor is subjected to different annealing temperatures ranging from 250 °C to 450 °C. The shape of the glow curve structure and peak temperature remains similar at different annealing temperatures, however peak intensities vary. The consistency in the glow curve structure with annealing temperature elucidate that TL trapping states are stable in nature. Thermal annealing at 300 °C for 10 min gives maximum TL intensity with main dosimetry peak at 209 °C. The TL intensity of the main dosimetry peak is increased by a factor of five as compared to as-grown crystal. The thermal stability of LiF: Mg, Cu, Si is found to be better than LiF: Mg, Cu, P. Trapping parameters are calculated to have an insight study of defect states. A simple glow curve structure, tissue equivalency, thermal stability, low residual signal, linear response and reusability makes LiF: Mg, Cu, Si a suitable phosphor for radiation therapy, radio diagnostics and personnel dosimetry applications.  相似文献

 基于神光Ⅱ物理实验,研究了X射线分幅相机中真空弧放电对荧光屏和微通道板的损害。通过观测放电点在荧光屏上的位置和输出强度,发现X射线分幅相机存在的3种弧放电形式:散弧、强弧和定弧,由弧点位置和强度的时空变化比较了3种放电形式对器件的损害程度和对相机工作状态的影响。散弧在一定真空度条件下具有很好的稳定性,并且微放电不影响XFC正常性能;强弧的屏输出强饱和,MCP和荧光屏被一次性损害,相机无法正常工作;定弧对相机的正常工作没有影响,放电在两种屏压加载下都表现出稳定的趋向。由场致电子发射理论解释了放电机理,分析了弧放电损坏的稳定性,由实验结果推导了定弧的场增强因子。  相似文献

In traditional X-ray radiography, which has been used for various purposes since the discovery of X-ray radiation, the shadow image of an object under study is constructed based on the difference in the absorption of the X-ray radiation by different parts of the object. The main method that ensures a high spatial resolution is the method of point projection X-ray radiography, i.e., radiography from a point and bright radiation source. For projection radiography, the small size of the source is the most important characteristic of the source, which mainly determines the spatial resolution of the method. In this work, as a point source of soft X-ray radiation for radiography with a high spatial and temporal resolution, radiation from a hot spot of X-pinches is used. The size of the radiation source in different setups and configurations can be different. For four different high-current generators, we have calculated the sizes of sources of soft X-ray radiation from X-ray patterns of corresponding objects using Fresnel-Kirchhoff integrals. Our calculations show that the size of the source is in the range 0.7–2.8 μm. The method of the determination of the size of a radiation source from calculations of Fresnel-Kirchhoff integrals makes it possible to determine the size with an accuracy that exceeds the diffraction limit, which frequently restricts the resolution of standard methods.  相似文献

The paper presents the results of studying the combined shock-wave radiation-emission processes associated with cavitation phenomena that occur at fast directional motion of a liquid jet into a closed working chamber through narrow dielectric channels. These processes induce high-power tunable X-ray radiation outside the chamber. At a relatively small liquid pressure, cavitation has been shown to generate shock waves in the chamber walls, which excites surface atoms and leads to the emission of X-rays from the outer surface of the chamber. At a high liquid pressure, the liquid jet does not touch the chamber walls and the cavitational shock waves lead to the excitation of the surface atoms of the jet itself accompanied by the generation of optical and X-ray radiation in the jet, which has been also observed in experiments.  相似文献

The powder phosphor ZnCdS-Mn was used to make a more detailed investigation into memory, which was first described by Destriau in 1958. The effect of a field and infra-red radiation is modified by prior sensitization of the luminophore; this is apparent during further X-ray radiation primarily as a much higher luminescence intensity which later slowly decreases. A comparison of the results of measuring the brightness and charge on an electroluminescence panel permits conclusions to be reached on the actual mechanism. When a field is applied it excites polarization, the field of which does not have a great influence on the effect studied.  相似文献
