Double polarization asymmetry Dp(M) for the process of elastic electroweak scattering of the longitudinally polarized electrons by polarized proton target is considered with account of anapole G1p and electric dipole moment (EDM) G2p proton form factors. This asymmetry is only due to T-parity violating form factor G2p, but does not directly depend on it, and having a significant value, allows to confirm the existence of the EDM of the proton.  相似文献

We have measured the beam-normal single-spin asymmetries in elastic scattering of transversely polarized electrons from the proton, and performed the first measurement in quasielastic scattering on the deuteron, at backward angles (lab scattering angle of 108°) for Q2 = 0.22 GeV2/c2 and 0.63 GeV2/c2 at beam energies of 362 and 687 MeV, respectively. The asymmetry arises due to the imaginary part of the interference of the two-photon exchange amplitude with that of single-photon exchange. Results for the proton are consistent with a model calculation which includes inelastic intermediate hadronic (πN) states. An estimate of the beam-normal single-spin asymmetry for the scattering from the neutron is made using a quasistatic deuterium approximation, and is also in agreement with theory.  相似文献

Two-photon exchange contributions to elastic electron-proton scattering cross sections are evaluated in a simple hadronic model including the finite size of the proton. The corrections are found to be small in magnitude, but with a strong angular dependence at fixed Q2. This is significant for the Rosenbluth technique for determining the ratio of the electric and magnetic form factors of the proton at high Q2, and partly reconciles the apparent discrepancy with the results of the polarization transfer technique.  相似文献

A statistical analysis of the elastic unpolarized electron-proton scattering data shows that at large momentum transfer the size and the ε dependence of the radiative corrections, as traditionally calculated and applied, may induce large correlations of the parameters of the Rosenbluth fit, which prevent a correct extraction of the electric proton form factor. Using the electron QED structure (radiation) function approach, the cross section of elastic electron-proton scattering in leading and next-to-leading approximations is calculated and expressed as a correction to the Born cross section, which is different for the electric and magnetic contributions. When properly applied to the data, it may yield the solution to the problem of the discrepancy of the polarized and unpolarized results on electron-proton scattering. The text was submitted by the author in English.  相似文献

We have measured the angular distribution of the depolarization parameter Kyy in p-15N elastic scattering at 65 MeV. The deviation of Kyy from unity is large and indicates the existence of a nucleon-nucleus spin-spin interaction. The DWBA analysis shows that the measured Kyy data imply a large contribution from the tensor part of the spin-spin potential.  相似文献

Higher-order QED effects play an important role in precision measurements of nucleon elastic form factors in electron scattering. Here we introduce a two-photon-exchange QED correction to the parity-violating polarization asymmetry of elastic electron-proton scattering. We calculate this correction in the parton model using the formalism of generalized parton distributions, and demonstrate that it can reach several percent in certain kinematics, becoming comparable in size with existing experimental measurements of strange-quark effects in the proton neutral weak current.  相似文献

We estimate the two-photon exchange contribution to elastic electron-proton scattering at large momentum transfer through the scattering off a parton in the proton. We relate the two-photon exchange amplitude to the generalized parton distributions which appear in hard exclusive processes. We find that when taking the polarization transfer determinations of the form factors as input, adding in the 2-photon correction does reproduce the Rosenbluth cross sections.  相似文献

Leading electroweak corrections play an important role in precision measurements of the strange form factors. We calculate the two-photon-exchange (TPE) and gammaZ-exchange corrections to the parity-violating asymmetry of the elastic electron-proton scattering in a simple hadronic model including the finite size of the proton. We find both can reach a few percent and are comparable in size with the current experimental measurements of strange-quark effects in the proton neutral weak current. The effect of gammaZ exchange is in general larger than that of TPE, especially at low momentum transfer Q2相似文献

We derive from general symmetry properties of the hadron electromagnetic interaction, such as C-invariance and crossing symmetry, the general characteristics of two-photon exchange in electron-proton elastic scattering. We show that the presence of this mechanism destroys the linearity of the Rosenbluth separation.PACS: 25.30.Bf Elastic electron scattering - 13.40.-f Electromagnetic processes and properties - 13.60.-r Photon and charged-lepton interactions with hadrons - 13.88. + e Polarization in interactions and scattering  相似文献

Using the available cross-section and polarization data for elastic electron-proton scattering, we provide an extraction of the two-photon exchange amplitudes at a common value of four-momentum transfer, around Q 2 = 2.5 GeV^2. This analysis also predicts the e + p/e - p elastic-scattering cross-section ratio, which will be measured by forthcoming experiments.  相似文献

We have measured parity-violating asymmetries in elastic electron-proton scattering over the range of momentum transfers 0.12 < or =Q2 < or =1.0 GeV2. These asymmetries, arising from interference of the electromagnetic and neutral weak interactions, are sensitive to strange-quark contributions to the currents of the proton. The measurements were made at Jefferson Laboratory using a toroidal spectrometer to detect the recoiling protons from a liquid hydrogen target. The results indicate nonzero, Q2 dependent, strange-quark contributions and provide new information beyond that obtained in previous experiments.  相似文献

The correspondence principle of Bjorken and Kogut is used to relate inclusive and exclusive processes at large angle. Each inclusive cross section of a certain type is shown to lead to a definite result for an exclusive cross section. A study of models suggests that diagrams exhibiting leading particle structure are important at least near the edge of phase space. pp, πp and γp scattering are discussed using such diagrams, and correspondence enables tests of dimensional counting arguments for large angle hadron-parton exclusive amplitudes to be made.  相似文献

The results of two-boson-exchange effects in the parity-violating elastic electron-proton scattering are reported based on a simple hadronic model. The corrections are calculated including the nucleon and △(1232) intermediate states. And the numerical results are also compared with the recent results reported by other group and other methods.  相似文献

New positivity bounds on the up-down asymmetry in elastic electron-proton scattering are derived. The bounds are rigorous to order α ?1137, and optimal in the sense that they fully exploit the positivity restrictions of the off-shell absorptive Compton amplitudes which govern the asymmetry effect. We compare the results with existing experiments and discuss their relevance to future ones.  相似文献
