一个实方阵A称为是S^2NS阵,若所有与A有相同符号模式的矩阵均可逆,且它们的逆矩阵的符号模式都相同.若A是S^2NS阵且A中任意一个零元换为任意非零元后所得的矩阵都不是S2NS阵,则称A是极大S^2NS阵.论文证明了当n≥5时,所有n阶极大S^2NS阵的分支个数所成之集合Fn为{1,…,n}／{2},而所有n阶极大S^2NS阵的非零元个数所成之集合S（n）,除去2n＋1到3n-4间的一段外,也得到了完全确定.

A Note on Ultrametric Matrices

It is proved in this paper that special generalized ultrametric and special matrices are, in a sense, extremal matrices in the boundary of the set of generalized ultrametric and matrices, respectively. Moreover, we present a new class of inverse M-matrices which generalizes the class of matrices.

A Note on the Kissing Numbers of Superballs

The lower bounds for the translative kissing numbers of superballs are studied in this note. We improve the bound given by Larman and Zong. Furthermore, we give a constructive bound based on algebraic-geometry codes that also improves the bound by Larman and Zong in almost all cases.     

A Note on Generic Fiedler Matrices

In this paper, we first show that a generic m×n Fiedler matrix may have 2m-n-1 kinds of factorizations which are very complicated when m is much larger than n. In this work, two special cases are examined, one is an m×n Fiedler matrix being factored as a product of (m - n) Fiedler matrices, the other is an m×(m - 2) Fiedler matrix's factorization. Then we discuss the relation among the numbers of parameters of three generic m×n, n×p and m×p Fiedler matrices, and obtain some useful results.     

A Note on Maximal Coverings of Groups

Let λ(G) be the maximum number of subgroups in an irredundant covering of the finite group G. In this note we investigate the basic properties of λ(G), classify the groups for which λ(G) = 3, 4, 5 and also classify the nilpotent groups that admit only one-sized coverings.
