An algorithmic approach to degree reduction of B-spline curves is presented. The new algorithms are based on the blossoming process and its matrix representation. The degree reduction of B-spline curves are obtained by the generalized least square method. The computations are carried out by minimizing theL 2 distance between the two curves.  相似文献

In this paper, we present three different formulae for computing the degree of the offset of a real irreducible affine plane curve C given implicitly, and we see how these formulae particularize to the case of rational curves. The first formula is based on an auxiliary curve, called S, that is defined depending on a non-empty Zariski open subset of R2. The second formula is based on the resultant of the defining polynomial of C, and the polynomial defining generically S. The third formula expresses the offset degree by means of the degree of C and the multiplicity of intersection of C and the hodograph H to C, at their intersection points.  相似文献

A weighted pointed curve consists of a nodal curve and a sequence of marked smooth points, each assigned a number between zero and one. A subset of the marked points may coincide if the sum of the corresponding weights is no greater than one. We construct moduli spaces for these objects using methods of the log minimal model program, and describe the induced birational morphisms between moduli spaces as the weights are varied. In the genus zero case, we explain the connection to Geometric Invariant Theory quotients of points in the projective line, and to compactifications of moduli spaces studied by Kapranov, Keel, and Losev-Manin.  相似文献

We determine the action of the product of symmetric groups on the cohomology of certain moduli of weighted pointed rational curves. The moduli spaces that we study are of stable rational curves with m + n marked points where the first m marked points are distinct from all the others where as the last n may coincide among themselves. We give a recursive algorithm for computing the character of the cohomology of the moduli space ${\overline{M}}_{0,n}$ of stable $n$ -pointed genus zero curves as a representation of the symmetric group $\mathbb{S }_n$ on $n$ letters. Using the algorithm we can show a formula for the maximum length of this character. Our main tool is connected to the moduli spaces of weighted stable curves introduced by Hassett.  相似文献

The moduli space of weighted pointed stable curves of genus zero is stratified according to the degeneration types of such curves. We show that the homology groups of are generated by the strata of and give all additive relations between them. We also observe that the Chow groups and the homology groups are isomorphic. In order to derive the offset curves by using cubic Bézier curves with a linear field of normal vectors (the so-called LN Bézier curves) more efficiently, three methods for approximating degree n Bézier curves by cubic LN Bézier curves are considered, which includes two traditional methods and one new method based on Hausdorff distance. The approximation based on shifting control points is equivalent to solving a quadratic equation, and the approximation based on L2 norm is equivalent to solving a quartic equation. In addition, the sufficient and necessary condition of optimal approximation based on Hausdorff distance is presented, accordingly the algorithm for approximating the degree n Bézier curves based on Hausdorff distance is derived. Numerical examples show that the error of approximation based on Hausdorff distance is much smaller than that of approximation based on shifting control points and L2 norm, furthermore, the algorithm based on Hausdorff distance is much simple and convenient.  相似文献

We study the conormal sheaves and singular schemes of one-dimensional foliations on smooth projective varieties X of dimension 3 and Picard rank 1. We prove that if the singular scheme has dimension 0, then the conormal sheaf is μ-stable whenever the tangent bundle T X $TX$ is stable, and apply this fact to the characterization of certain irreducible components of the moduli space of rank 2 reflexive sheaves on P 3 $\mathbb {P}^3$ and on a smooth quadric hypersurface Q 3 P 4 $Q_3\subset \mathbb {P}^4$ . Finally, we give a classification of local complete intersection foliations, that is, foliations with locally free conormal sheaves, of degree 0 and 1 on Q3.  相似文献

For a rational elliptic curve in Weierstrass form, Chudnovsky and Chudnovsky considered the likelihood that the denominators of the -coordinates of the multiples of a rational point are squares of primes. Assuming the point is the image of a rational point under an isogeny, we use Siegel's Theorem to prove that only finitely many primes will arise. The same question is considered for elliptic curves in homogeneous form, prompting a visit to Ramanujan's famous taxi-cab equation. Finiteness is provable for these curves with no extra assumptions. Finally, consideration is given to the possibilities for prime generation in higher rank.

We give an algorithm for approximating a given plane curve segment by a planar elastic curve. The method depends on an analytic representation of the space of elastic curve segments, together with a geometric method for obtaining a good initial guess for the approximating curve. A scheme is proposed for the construction of a visually smooth and fair space curve passing through a prescribed sequence of irregularly spaced and non-coplanar points. A major feature is its locality of definition - in a given region the curve depends only of the nearby points. Also the construction is direct, compact and fast.
