In this paper, we consider the global nonlinear stability of longitudinal wave for the planar motion of elastic string with linear Hooke's law. First, we will give the representation of the traveling wave solution to the recast hyperbolic system. Then, by using the weighted function method, we obtain the global stability of longitudinal wave solution for nonlinear elastic string equation.  相似文献

In this paper we study a non-homogeneous elliptic Kirchhoff equation with nonlinear reaction term. We analyze the existence and uniqueness of positive solution. The main novelty is the inclusion of non-homogeneous term making the problem without a variational structure. We use mainly bifurcation arguments to get the results.  相似文献

The control problem of axially moving strings occurs in a large class of mechanical systems. In addition to the longitudinal displacement, the strings are subject to undesirable transversal vibrations. In this work, in order to suppress these vibrations, we consider a control by a hydraulic touch-roll actuator at the right boundary. We prove uniform stability of the system using a viscoelastic material and an appropriate boundary control force applied to the touch rolls of the actuator. The features of the present work are: taking into account the mass flow entering in and out at the boundaries due to the axial movement of the string and overcoming the difficulty raised by the Kirchhoff coefficient which does not allow us to profit from the dissipativity of the system (as in the existing works so far). We shall make use of an inequality which is new in this theory.  相似文献

We consider a fourth-order quasilinear nonhomogeneous equation which is equivalent to a nonhomogeneous Hamiltonian system. The purpose of this work is to prove the existence of at least two solutions for such equation when a certain parameter is small enough. Furthermore, under an additional hypothesis on positiveness of the nonhomogeneous part we prove that our solutions are positive.  相似文献

We shall study the existence of time-periodic solutions of nonlinear damped equation of suspended string to which a periodic nonlinear force works. We shall be conterned with weak, strong and classical time-periodic solutions and also the regularity of the solutions. To formulate our results, we shall take suitable weighted Sobolev-type spaces introduced by [M. Yamaguchi, Almost periodic oscillations of suspended string under quasiperiodic linear force, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 303 (2) (2005) 643-660; M. Yamaguchi, Infinitely many time-periodic solutions of nonlinear equation of suspended string, Funkcial. Ekvac., in press]. We shall study properties of the function spaces and show inequalities on the function spaces. To show our results we shall apply the Schauder fixed point theorem and the fixed point continuation theorem in the function spaces.  相似文献

We study bilinear optimal control of a wave equation with one spatial dimension. The problem describes oscillations of an elastic string with viscous damping, and the damping coefficient is taken as the control. The objective functional involves driving the state solution close to a desired profile and incurring a cost on the control. The paper addresses the analysis of a model for a thin shallow linear elastic shell with a smooth vertical through crack that is based on the Kirchhoff–Love shell theory and accounts for cohesive forces acting between the crack faces. We follow the basic idea behind the Barenblatt theory assuming that the density of the total energy spent by the cohesive forces is the sum of longitudinal and transverse contributions, each of which in general is nonconvex. In order to eliminate nonphysical interpenetration of the crack faces, an inequality constraint that involves both the normal component of the longitudinal displacements and the normal derivative of the transverse deflection of the crack faces is imposed. We first prove the existence of minimizers for the total energy and study in detail the Euler–Lagrange system for them. Then we derive the left and right Eulerian shape derivatives of the minimal value of the total energy by developing a fully variational technique. Finally we apply the developed technique coupled with a difference quotient argument to obtain higher differentiability results in Besov and Sobolev spaces for the minimizers.  相似文献

In the last three decades, Sinc numerical methods have been extensively used for solving differential equations, not only because of their exponential convergence rate, but also due to their desirable behavior toward problems with singularities. This paper illustrates the application of Sinc-collocation and Sinc-Galerkin methods to the approximate solution of the two-dimensional time dependent Schrödinger equation with nonhomogeneous boundary conditions.
