The static electric quadrupole interaction of181Ta and178Hf in polycrystalline barium and lead titanate at the site of titanium has been measured using time differential PAC and the Mössbauer effect. The electric field gradients (EFG) at room temperature at the181Ta nucleus are ¦V zz¦=(3.6±0.2)·1017V/cm2 in BaTiO3 and ¦V zz¦=(14.6±0.6)·1017 V/cm2 in PbTiO3. The temperature dependence of the quadrupole interaction has been studied giving the following EFG values: ¦V zz¦=(2.4±0.2)·1017 V/cm2 in the monoclinic and ¦V zz¦=(1.1±0.3)·1017 V/cm2 in the rhomboedral phase of BaTiO3, and ¦V zz¦=(15.7±0.6)·1017 V/cm2 for181Ta/PbTiO 3 at 77 °K. The EFG of178Hf in PbTiO3 has been derived from a Mössbauer effect experiment to beV zz=+(10.7±0.5)·1017 V/cm2. The results are compared with EFG's calculated in a point charge model and with experimental EFG's measured at44Sc and57Fe in the same titanates by other authors. Contributions of covalent bonds to the effective EFG's in perovskit crystals are discussed.  相似文献

The time-differential perturbed angular correlation technique (TDPAC) has been applied to the 482 keV excited state of181Ta, to determine the nuclear electric quadrupole interaction (QI) at Ta in Be. Sources were prepared by ion-implantation of181Hf in Be. Particle channeling measurements have revealed that. Hf impurities implanted in Be reside primarily at the tetrahedral interstitial site. The fundamental QI frequency obtained for Ta at this interstitial site in Be is |v Q| =e 2 qQ/h = 227.0 ± 2.2 MHz which corresponds to an electric field gradient |eq|=(3.71±0.15)×1017 V/cm2. This result is discussed in terms of results for Cd impurities in the same system and the systematics of the impurity QI in metals.  相似文献

Using the time-differential perturbed-angular correlation technique, we have observed the nuclear electric quadrupole interaction at 181Ta (482 keV) as an impurity in the refractory compound HfB2. The measured interaction frequency is νQ=730±5 MHz which corresponds to an electric field gradient of |eq|=(1·19±0·05)×1018 V/cm2 at room temperature. By considering a second measurement at 4·2°K, which yields the same results as above, and by comparison with available results for Hf in HfB2, we conclude that the d-electron density of states at the Fermi level is quite small in agreement with trends observed by others.  相似文献

In an atomic beam magnetic resonance experiment the hyperfine interaction constantsA andB of the5 I 8 groundstate of Dy161 and Dy163 were found to be Dy161:A=?(115.8±1)MHz, Dy163:A=(162.9±0.6)MHz,B=(1102±15)MHz,B=(1150±20)MHz. Using an effective value for 〈r?3〉, the magnetic moments and electric quadrupole moments of the Dy161 and Dy163 nuclei were calculated to be Dy161:μ I=?(0.47±0.09) n.m., Dy163:μ I=(0.66±0.13)n.m.,Q=(2.36±0.4)barns,Q=(2.46±0.4)barns.  相似文献

The technique of differential γ-γ angular correlation measurements has been applied to an investigation of the hyperfine interactions in the 482 keV level of181Ta. The activity was embedded in the lattice of a hafnium single crystal. The investigation of the quadrupole interaction gave for the electric interaction frequencyω 0=(313±4) MHz. The electric field gradient was found to be axially symmetric, the asymmetry parameter beingη<0.1. Furthermore the combined collinear magnetic dipole and electric quadrupole interaction was studied. The angular correlation was investigated as a function of the strength of the external magnetic field by integral as well as time differential measurements. The integral anisotropy as function of the magnetic field has the shape of a resonance curve. The maximum was observed at a magnetic field ofB res=(24.2±0.5)kG.  相似文献

In the bombardment of a 270μg/cm 2 180Hf target with48 Ca projectiles at a primary beam energy of E/A=4.24 MeV/u the new nuclide225U was produced. The experiment was performed at the velocity filter SHIP. 225U was found to decay by α emission with Eα=(7880 ±20) keV (≈90%), (7830±20) keV (≈10%) and has a half-life ofT 1/2=(80 ?20 +40 ms).  相似文献

The hyperfine field at 181Ta lattice sites in a nanostructured HfO2 thin film was studied by the perturbed angular correlation (PAC) technique. The thin oxide film was deposited by pulsed laser ablation on a silicon substrate kept at 673 K. The thickness was about 25 nm. The radioactive 181Hf ions were produced by neutron activation of the very thin film in the Portuguese research reactor by the reaction 180Hf(n,γ)181Hf. PAC measurements were carried out at room temperature after annealing at different temperatures up to 1,473 K in air. The PAC technique allows determining the electric field gradient at the 181Ta probe sites. The 181Ta isotopes appear in the sample as disintegration product of 181Hf.  相似文献

Radio frequency induced transitions between 3D 5/2- and 3P 3/2-Zeeman sublevels in He+ have been detected. From the position of the line center of theD 5/2 (m=?1/2)—P 3/2(m=1/2) transition, the splittings 3D 5/2—3P 3/2=(17259±13) MHz and 3P 3/2—3D 3/2=(81±13) MHz have been deduced. The theoretical values are 17254.9 and 85.4 MHz. Three crossings of Zeeman sublevels of the 3S-, 3P- and 3D-states of He+ have been detected both by a magnetic and an electric field modulation method. The crossing-field strengths are in good agreement with the calculated values.  相似文献

The reactions e+e?→ hadrons and e+e+e?→e+e? have been studied at the J/gY (3100) resonance). The relative weights of the topological cross sections for fixed charged multiplicity are σ2=(32±5)%, σ4=(49±8)%, σ6=(18±3)%, and σ8=(1±0.6)%. The average pion multiplicities are 〈nch〉=3.8±0.3 and 〈nπo〉=3.1±0.8. The decay widths are Γe=(4.6±0.8) keV, Γh=(59±24) keV, and Γ=(68±26) keV.  相似文献

The reactions58Ni+102Pd→160W and58Ni+106Cd→164Os were investigated to search for new decay data of neutron deficient nuclei. Excitation energies of the compound nuclei covered a range from 47 to 89 MeV. Velocity separation of the evaporation residues and position time correlations with the a decays of the implanted nuclei were used. The following new decay data were measured:162Os (Eα=(6611 ±30) keV, T1/2=(1.9±0.7) ms);158W (T1/2=(0.9±0.3) ms);158mW (E=1.88 MeV, Eα=(8280±30) keV, T1/2=(0.01-1) ms);155mLu (Eα=(5575±10) keV); β decay of156Ta (T1/2 > 10 ms) to the 8+ yrast isomer in156Hf. A cross section of 5μb was measured for the new isotope156Ta produced in a p3n evaporation channel from160W at 64 MeV excitation energy.  相似文献

Hyperfine interactions were studied in the intermetallic compound GdRh2Si2 by perturbed angular correlation (PAC) technique using 181Hf(181Ta) probe nuclei. The measurements were performed in the temperature range 15–285 K. The PAC spectra above the antiferromagnetic ordering temperature of the GdRh2Si2 compound (T N ~ 106 K), were analyzed using a model that included only electric quadrupole interactions. The observed major fraction was assigned to the 181Hf(181Ta) probe substituting the Gd atoms. The PAC spectra below Néel temperature were analyzed using combined electric quadrupole and magnetic dipole interactions. The Bhf value at Gd, measured at 15 K was found to be 1.4(1) T which, is smaller, when compared with the values obtained in this compound using other nuclear probes, 155Gd (Bhf ~ 30 T) and 140Ce (Bhf ~ 26 T). The present result using 181Hf(181Ta) probe is quite interesting since it shows that the contribution to Bhf at Gd due the host is smaller than other components which contribute to the hyperfine field. The temperature dependence of Bhf shows an anomalous behavior.  相似文献

Using the level crossing technique the ratios and absolute values of the hyperfine structure (hfs) constants of the levelsz 4F9/2 andz 4F7/2 of the configuration 3d 74s4p of Co I were measured:z 4 F 9/2: ¦A¦=(811±12)MHz; ¦B¦=(48±93) MHz;B/A=?0.06±0.11 A>0; B<0z 4 F 7/2: ¦A¦ = (659 ±11)MHz; ¦B¦=(33±84)MHz;B/A=?0.05±0.13 A>0; B<0. In addition the hfs constants of three other excited levels of Co I could be determined by optical methods:z 4 F 9/2:A=525±26 MHz;B=200 MHzy 4 F 9/2:A=300±30 MHz;B=?500 MHzy 4 G 11/2:A=315±20 MHz;B=400 MHz. The experimental results are compared with known experimental and also with theoretical values which where calculated using the parametric potential method.  相似文献

Using the method ofγ-detection, the NMR in the metastable 40 keV-state of103Rh in Fe (thin foils with diffused103Pd activity) was measured in external fields of 0.5 to 14 kG. We find a zero-field resonance frequency ofv 0=(550.3±0.5) MHz and a slope ofdv/dH= ?(0.933 ±0.017) MHz/kG, yielding g=1.22 ± 0.02. The resulting value for the hyperfine field, Hhf=(590±10) kG, is inconsistent with that of an NMR measurement in the ground state of103Rh. Possible reasons for this discrepancy are discussed.  相似文献

The decay of125m Xe produced by the reaction122Te(α, n)125m Xe using a target enriched in122Te (95.4%) and the decay of127m Xe produced by the reaction127J(d, 2n)127m Xe have been investigated: 125m Xe decays with a half-life ofT 1/2=(56±3) sec by ayy- cascade withE γ1=(140.4 ±0.5) keV andE γ2=(110.5 ±0.5) keV. The experimental conversion coefficients yield multipolarities ofE3 for the 140.4 keV isomeric transition and predominantlyM1 for the 110.5 keV-transition. 127m Xe decays with a half-life ofT 1/2=(71±2) sec. The decay also proceeds by aγγ-cascade with an isomeric E3 transition ofE γ1=(172.5±0.3) keV and a predominantlyM1 transition ofE γ2=(124.6±0.3) keV. In the decay of127g Xe an additional branching of the electron capture to a level at (618.1±0.3) keV was observed. The relative probability forK-captureP K618/PK375=0.40 ±0.07 yields a total transition energyQ EC=(664 ±4)keV. A spin of 1/2+ was assigned to the ground state.  相似文献

The 5d 26s 2 3 F 2 ground state of177Hf,179Hf and180Hf has been studied using the atomic beam magnetic resonance method. The atomic beam was produced by an universal evaporation technique described in a previous paper. The results are180Hfg j (3 F 2)=0.695812 (10)177Hf Δv(3 F 2;F=11/2?F=9/2)=991.7917 (10) MHz Δv(3 F 2;F=9/2?F=7/2)=477.0081 (10) MHz Δv(3 F 2;F=7/2?F=5/2)=162.8890 (10) MHz179HfΔv(3 F 2;F=13/2?F=11/2)=82.1320 (10) MHz Δv(3 F 2;F=11/2?F=9/2)=392.8498 (10) MHz. The magnetic dipole and electric quadrupole moments of the177Hf and179Hf nuclear ground states as calculated from these hyperfine structure measurements are the following: μ(177)=0.75(8)μ k , Q(177)=4.34 (65) barns μ(179)=?0.61 (6)μ k , Q(179)=4.90 (75) barns.  相似文献

The knowledge of the diffusion coefficients of radioactive atoms and ions in air is very important in a number of investigations on and computations of the attachment of radon decay products to aerosol particles. In this work measurements of the diffusion coefficients of neutral and charged212Pb atoms are reported. The values found areD 0=(7.6±0.4)·10?2cm2s?1 for neutral atomsD=(5.0±0.3)·10?2cm2s?1 for charged atoms The used method of measurement allowed to determine these constants 1–5 seconds after the formation aged212Pb atoms, so that a “cluster” formation was improbable. The mean free path for neutral (λ0=(4.9±0.3)·10?6cm) and charged (λ=(3.2±0.2)· 10?6cm) lead 212 atoms in air were computed from the measured diffusion coefficients. Optical absorption spectra of DyFeO3 have been investigated at 1.2≦T≦4.2 °K, andT=77 °K From the temperature dependent lineshift a Néel temperature ofT N=(3.8±0.5) °K is deduced for the dysprosium sublattices. The groundstate splitting due to the iron-dysprosium interactions is about 1.5 cm?1 and due to the dysprosiumdysprosium interactions (5.0±1.4) cm?1. Using the atomic beam magnetic resonance method the experimental hyperfine structure data of the 5d 26s 2 3 F 2 ground state of177Hf and179Hf described in a previous paper [1] have been completed. After applying corrections due to perturbations by other fine structure levels of the configuration 5d 26s 2 we got the following multipole interaction constants: $$\begin{gathered} ^{177} Hf:A = 113.43314 (7) MHz B = 624.3293 (13) MHz \hfill \\ C = 0.27 (18) KHz D = 0.045 (40) KHz \hfill \\ ^{179} Hf: A = - 71.42891 (9) MHz B = 705.5181 (24) MHz \hfill \\ C = - 0.43 (20) MHz D = 0.07 (6) KHz. \hfill \\ \end{gathered} $$ By measuring rf transitions at magnetic fields between 1100 and 1550 Gauss the nuclear ground state magnetic dipole moments were determined. The results are: $$\mu _I (^{177} Hf) = 0.7836 (6) \mu _N , \mu _I (^{179} Hf) = - 0.6329 (13) \mu _N $$ (uncorrected for diamagnetic shielding).  相似文献

Time differential perturbed angular correlation measurements of the 133–482 keVγ-γ cascade of181Ta in Hf-doped YBa2Cu3O7−x are presented. The181Hf precurser nuclei are incorporated into the sample by thermal neutron irradiation. Two quadrupole interaction frequencies are observed in the as-irradiated sample:v Q1=161±10 MHz with intensityf 1=75%, asymmetry parameterη 1=0.32 and damping parameter Λ1=0.42, andv Q2=1108±40 MHz withf 2=25%,η 2=0.62, and Λ2=0.60. On annealing the sample in air at various temperaturesT a and quenching to room temperature,f 1 remained nearly constant forT a<600°C andv Q1 for all annealing temperatures indicating that these are insensitive to oxygen stoichiometry. This frequency is interpreted to be due to181Hf substitutingY sites. BeyondT a=600°C,f 1 increased and reached a constant value of 90% forT a=800°C. The value ofv Q2 showed a slight variation between 1086 and 1160 MHz, whilef 2 remained nearly constant at 25% forT a<600°C. This component is identified to be due to181Hf substituting Cu 1 sites in the Cu-O chains of YBCO. Above 600°Cv Q2 decreased and reached a value of 808 MHz beyond 750°C.  相似文献
