Given ${\Gamma \subset \mathbb{Q}^*}$ a multiplicative subgroup and ${m \in \mathbb{N}^+}$ , assuming the Generalized Riemann Hypothesis, we determine an asymptotic formula for the number of primes p ≤ x for which ind p Γ = m, where ind p Γ = (p ? 1)/|Γ p | and Γ p is the reduction of Γ modulo p. This problem is a generalization of some earlier works by Cangelmi–Pappalardi, Lenstra, Moree, Murata, Wagstaff, and probably others. We prove, on GRH, that the primes with this property have a density and, in the case when Γ contains only positive numbers, we give an explicit expression for it in terms of an Euler product. We conclude with some numerical computations.  相似文献

This paper deals with the structure of the spectrum of infinite dimensional Hamiltonian operators.It is shown that the spectrum,the union of the point spectrum and residual spectrum,and the continuous spectrum are all symmetric with respect to the imaginary axis of the complex plane. Moreover,it is proved that the residual spectrum does not contain any pair of points symmetric with respect to the imaginary axis;and a complete characterization of the residual spectrum in terms of the point spectrum is then given.As applications of these structure results,we obtain several necessary and sufficient conditions for the residual spectrum of a class of infinite dimensional Hamiltonian operators to be empty.  相似文献

We extend Edmonds’ Branching Theorem to locally finite infinite digraphs. As examples of Oxley or Aharoni and Thomassen show, this cannot be done using ordinary arborescences, whose underlying graphs are trees. Instead we introduce the notion of pseudo-arborescences and prove a corresponding packing result. Finally, we verify some tree-like properties for these objects, but give also an example that their underlying graphs do in general not correspond to topological trees in the Freudenthal compactification of the underlying multigraph of the digraph.  相似文献

Let B be a finite, separable von Neumann algebra. We prove that a B-valued distribution μ that is the weak limit of an infinitesimal array is infinitely divisible. The proof of this theorem utilizes the Steinitz lemma and may be adapted to provide a nonstandard proof of this type of theorem for various other probabilistic categories. In this article we study the operation of inf-convolution in a new direction. We prove that the inf-convolution gives a monoid structure to the space of convex k-Lipschitz and bounded from below real-valued functions on a Banach space X. Then we show that the structure of the space X is completely determined by the structure of this monoid by establishing an analogue to the Banach–Stone theorem. Summary We consider a time evolution of unbounded continuous spins on the real line. The evolution is described by an infinite dimensional stochastic differential equation with local interaction. Introducing a condition which controls the growth of paths at infinity, we can construct a diffusion process taking values inC().
