Two mol% Y2O3-PSZ precursor powders for dental applications were synthesized using ZrOCl2·8H2O and Y(NO3)3·6H2O by a co-precipitation process at pH 7 and 348 K for 2 h. The thermal properties and phase transformation of 2Y-PSZ nanocrystallite powder have been investigated using a thermogravimetric and difference scanning calorimeter (TG/DSC), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), selected area electron diffraction and dilatometric analysis. Two weaker broad exothermic peaks appear at around 618 and 718 K were explored in DSC results. The TG analysis shows that minor weight loss occurs from 298 to 348 K, followed by three major weight losses at 610, 630 and 773 K. Calcinated at 773 and 1273 K, the crystallized phases are composed of the major phase of tetragonal ZrO2 and minor phase of monoclinic ZrO2. TEM reveals that the tetragonal ZrO2 with an average size of less than 20.0 nm is mainly aggregated into the secondary aggregates with a size of small than 30.0 nm. The sintering curve of the compact pellet has a significant shrinkage with a linear rate of 18.5% at about 1341 K. Maximum densification rate happened at 1473 K, demonstrating the good low temperature sinterability for dental applications.  相似文献

Transparent glass-nanocomposite sample [50Li2B4O7-50(SrO-Bi2O3-Nb2O5)] (mol %) was prepared by a conventional melt-quenching technique. Fluorite (Bi3NbO7) and SrBi2Nb2O9 (SBN) was produced by heat-treating the as-prepared sample at 773 K for 6 h (HT773). The nanocrystallites of fluorite and SBN phases in the Li2B4O7 glass matrix were established by differential thermal analysis (DTA) which is confirmed by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), infrared spectroscopy and transmission electron microscopic (TEM) studies. The influence of heat-treating the as-prepared sample on the optical properties (transmission, optical band gap and Urbach energy) has been investigated. Properties such as dielectric constant and dielectric loss as a function of frequency (120 Hz -100 k Hz) and temperature (300-829 K) are reported.  相似文献

Sb2S3 amorphous thin films were prepared by thermal evaporation of corresponding powder on thoroughly cleaned glass substrates held at temperature in the range 300‐473 K. X‐ray diffraction and atomic force microscopy have been used to order to identify the structure and morphology of surface thin films. The optical constants of the deposition films were obtained from the analysis of the experimental recorded transmission data over the wavelength range 400‐1400 nm. An analysis of the absorption coefficient values revealed an optical indirect transition with the estimation of the corresponding band gap values. It was found that the optical band gap energy decrease with substrate temperature from 1.67 eV at 300 K to 1.48 eV at 473K. (© 2006 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)  相似文献

The electrical and dielectric properties of 10ZnO-30Fe2O3-60P2O5 (mol%) glasses, melted at different temperatures were measured by impedance spectroscopy in the frequency range from 0.01 Hz to 3 MHz and over the temperature range from 303 to 473 K. It was shown that the dc conductivity strongly depends on the Fe(II)/[Fe(II) + Fe(III)] ratio. With increasing Fe(II) ion content from 17% to 37% in these glasses, the dc conductivity increases. Procedure of scaling conductivity data measured at various temperatures into a single master curve is given. The conductivity of the present glasses is made of conduction and conduction-related polarization of the polaron hopping between Fe(II) and Fe(III), both governed by the same relaxation time, τ. The high frequency dispersion in electrical conductivity arises from the distribution in τ caused by the disordered glass structure. The evolution of the complex permittivity as a function of frequency and temperature was investigated. At low frequency the dispersion was investigated in terms of dielectric loss. The thermal activated relaxation mechanism dominates the observed relaxation behavior. The relationship between relaxation parameters and electrical conductivity indicates the electronic conductivity controlled by polaron hopping between iron ions.  相似文献

The optical absorption spectra of xPbO-(100 − x) P2O5 glasses where x = 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30 is reported. The spectral absorption of these glasses was measured in the spectral range 300-900 nm at room temperature. Optical absorption spectra show that the absorption edge has a tail extending towards lower energies. The edge shifts nearly linearly towards higher energies with increasing PbO content. The degree of the edge shift was found to depend on the PbO content and is mostly related to the structural rearrangement and the relative concentrations of the glass basic units. The optical energy gap increases, from 2.55 to 3.05 eV by increasing PbO content from 5 to 30 mol%. The width of the localized states is decreased by increasing PbO content.  相似文献

Neutron diffraction has been used to study the structure of a glass and melt of composition 75SiO2-15Na2O-10CaO. RMC modeling of the neutron and X-ray diffraction data for the glass allowed the determination of the Na and Ca environment. The structure has been investigated at 300K, just below the glass transition at 823 K and in the melt at 1273 K. The short range order does not present important modifications with temperature while significant reorganization appears at the medium range order. These latter changes can be associated with the Si and O pairs and indicate the relaxation of the silicate network. This indicates that the glass formation involved structural rearrangement during cooling.  相似文献

The studies of electrical conductivity of NbN-SiO2 films are reported. To obtain these films, sol-gel derived xNb2O5-(100 − x)SiO2 (where x = 100, 90, 80, 70, 60, 50 mol%) coatings were nitrided at 1200 °C. The nitridation process leads to the formation of some disordered structures, with NbN metallic grains dispersed in insulating SiO2 matrix. The structure of the samples was studied using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and atomic force microscopy (AFM). The electrical conductivity was measured with the conventional four-terminal method in the temperature range from 5 to 280 K. The superconducting transition was not observed even for the sample that does not contain silica. All the samples exhibit negative temperature coefficient of resistivity. The results of conductivity versus temperature may be described on the grounds of a model proposed for a weakly disordered system.  相似文献

This study investigated the effect of the substrate temperature on the structural, optical, morphological, and electrical properties of undoped SnO2 films prepared by a spray deposition method. The films were deposited at various substrate temperatures ranging from 300-500 °C in steps of 50 °C and characterized by different optical and structural techniques. X-ray diffraction studies showed that the crystallite size and preferential growth directions of the films were dependent on the substrate temperature. These studies also indicated that the films were amorphous at 300 °C and polycrystalline at the other substrate temperatures used. Infrared and visible spectroscopic studies revealed that a strong vibration band, characteristic of the SnO2 stretching mode, was present around 630 cm−1 and that the optical transmittance in the visible region varied over the range 75-95% with substrate temperature, respectively. The films deposited at 400 °C exhibited the highest electrical conductivity property.  相似文献

A comparative analysis of temperature behavior of optical absorption edge is performed for non-crystalline materials where the Urbach behavior is observed (SiO2), with deviations from the Urbach behavior (20PbO · 80SiO2) and with a mixed behavior (As2S3). For glassy As2S3, the Urbach behavior of the absorption edge in a limited temperature range is explained from the point of view of two components of structural disordering - static and dynamic. A parallel red shift of the absorption edge in As2S3 and, consequently, the temperature-independent Urbach energy at T < 300 K, are related to the lack of medium-range order in the atomic arrangement in the presence of short-range order.  相似文献

Single crystals of β-In2S3 were grown by chemical vapor transport method using ICl3 as a transport agent. The below and above band-edge transitions in β-In2S3 have been characterized using optical absorption and photoluminescence (PL) measurements in the temperature range 20–300 K. Thermoreflectance (TR) and photoconductivity (PC) measurements were carried out to verify the band-edge nature of the diindium trisulfide tetragonal crystals. Experimental analyses of the transmittance, PL, PC, and TR spectra of β-In2S3 confirmed that the chalcogenide compound is a direct semiconductor with a band gap of about 1.935 eV at 300 K. β-In2S3 is familiar with its defect nature. For the β-In2S3 crystals, two defect emissions and two above band-edge luminescences were simultaneously detected in the PL spectra at low temperatures. The energy variations of the defect emissions showed temperature-insensitive behavior with respect to the temperature change from 20 to 300 K. Temperature dependences of transition energies of the near-band-edge (NBE) transitions below and above band gap are analyzed. The origins for the NBE transitions in the β-In2S3 defect crystals are discussed.  相似文献

Iron nanoparticles of diameter ∼5 nm were produced within a gel-derived silica glass by reducing a suitable gel composition. By heating these composites in the temperature range 573-973 K, Fe3O4 shells of a few nanometer thickness were grown around the iron nanoparticles. Three peaks were observed in the optical absorption spectra of the nanocomposites when they were dispersed in ethyl alcohol. The first one around 300 nm was caused by plasma resonance absorption of unoxidized iron particles; the second was shown to be due to the core-shell structure with different permittivities of the two regions and the third one was ascribed to a d-d transition. Detailed analyses of the second peak showed that the extracted values of electrical conductivity were below Mott’s minimum metallic conductivity for iron in the case of particles with diameters below ∼2.5 nm.  相似文献

The crystallization behavior of Zr-Cu-Al metallic glasses was studied using thermophysical property measurements. When the Zr content of Zr-Cu-Al metallic glass decreased from 65 at.% to 45 at.%, the thermal conductivity gradually increased and the maximum value obtained was the composition of Zr:Cu:Al = 50:39.3:10.7(at.%). These metallic glasses were not crystallized upon heat treatment below the glass transition temperature Tg, and the thermophysical properties of these metallic glasses were almost constant. In contrast, these metallic glasses started to crystallize upon heat treatment above Tg after a certain derived time, and their thermal conductivity increased with the crystallinity of the metallic glass.  相似文献

SiO2-BaO-ZnO-xB2O3-(10−x) Y2O3, (0 ≤ x ≤ 10) glasses are synthesized. The effect of Y2O3 on the structural and optical properties of glasses has been investigated using different characterization techniques. The results are discussed in light of non-bridging oxygens (NBO), optical basicity and heat-treatment of glasses. The band gap has been calculated for as cast and heat-treated glasses. The band gap energy is found to decrease with the increasing content of Y2O3 in the glasses and heat-treatment. The presence of the crystalline phase in the glass matrix showed remarkable effect on band gap which decreases to semiconducting range.  相似文献

Cadmium Selenide (Cd34Se66) thin films are deposited on a glass substrate using the thermal evaporation method at room temperature. The Cd34Se66 films are characterized using XRD. The crystallite size of the film is calculated from XRD data, which is found as 29.61 nm as-deposited. It is also found that crystallite size of Cd34Se66 changed after irradiation with N2 and Nd:YAG laser. The changes in the optical properties of the films after irradiation with N2 laser and Nd:YAG laser are also studied in the wavelength range of 300-700 nm and it is found that the optical band gap of the Cd34Se66 films changed after laser irradiation.  相似文献

This paper describes the preparation and characterization of ZrO2 thin films deposited on silicon wafer by spin coating method. Nanocrystalline ZrO2 was synthesized by hydrothermal method using zirconium (IV)-n-propoxide as a precursor material. Surface of the ZrO2 particles was then modified with 2-acetoacetoxyethyl methacrylate used as a copolymer for coatings. The optical properties, nanostructure and surface morphology of the thin films prepared from surface modified ZrO2 nanoparticles were examined by optical spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy, respectively. It was found that the films deposited on silicon wafer have crystalline structure of monoclinic (111) at temperature of 150 °C. It was observed that films depict very dense material that does not present any granular or columnar structure. It was found that optical transparency of thin ZrO2 films distributed in the range of 30-40 percent in the spectral range 400-800 nm. Refractive index of ZrO2 films were determined as functions of ZrO2 content and it was found that the refractive index increases from 1.547 to 1.643 with increased ZrO2 content.  相似文献

In order to have a better understanding of the role of the structure and the defects involved in the polarization processes in an 85TeO2-15Na2O mol% glass, we used the thermally stimulated depolarization currents (TSDC technique). The TSDC of the non-irradiated sample presented a strong negative peak of current at the temperature of 340 K, preceded by a relatively weak positive peak at about 300 K, after different d.c. voltages of 1200, 1500 and 2000 V were applied. No response was obtained with 1000 V, but the peak intensity increased considerably for voltages above 1200 V. After γ-irradiation of 25 and 50 KGy doses, a depolarization of the negative peak was observed in the sample submitted to25 KGy, whereas for the sample irradiated with 50 KGy, six TSDC peaks appeared at regular intervals of 5 KGy, in the temperature range of 100 and 300 K.  相似文献

Neodymium phosphate single crystals, NdPO4, have been grown by a flux growth method using Li2CO3-2MoO3 as a flux. The as-grown crystals were characterized by X-ray powder diffraction(XRPD), differential thermal analysis (DTA) and thermogravimetric analysis (TG) techniques. The results show that the as-grown crystals were well crystallized. The crystal was stable over the temperature range from 26 to 1200 °C in N2. The specific heat of NdPO4 crystal at room temperature was 0.41 J/g °C. The absorption and the fluorescence spectra of NdPO4 crystal were also measured at room temperature.  相似文献

Hydrogenated nanocrystalline silicon (nc-Si:H) films were prepared at high deposition rates (> 13 Å/s) from pure silane without hydrogen dilution by hot wire deposition method by varying filament-to-substrate distance (ds-f). In this study we have systematically and carefully investigated the effect of filament-to-substrate distance on structural, optical and electrical properties of the Si:H films. A variety of characterization techniques, including Raman spectroscopy, low angle X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM), Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (FE-SEM), UV-Visible-NIR spectroscopy and electrical dark and photoconductivity measurement were used to characterize these films. Films deposited at ds-f > 5 cm are amorphous while those deposited at ds-f < 5 cm are biphasic; a crystalline phase and an amorphous phase with nano-sized crystallites embedded in it. Low angle X-ray diffraction analysis showed that the crystallites in the films have preferential orientation along (111) directions. Decrease in ds-f, the crystallinity and crystalline size increases whereas hydrogen bonding shifts from mono-hydride (SiH) to di-hydride (SiH2) and poly-hydride (SiH2)n complexes. The band gaps of nc-Si:H films (~ 1.9-2.0 eV) are high compared to the a-Si:H films, while hydrogen content remains < 10 at.%. We attribute the high band gap to the quantum size effect. A correlation between electrical and structural properties has been established. Finally, from the present study it has been concluded that the filament-to-substrate distance is a key process parameter to induce the crystallinity in the films by hot wire method. The ease of depositing films with variable crystallite size and its volume fraction, and tunable band gap is useful for fabrication of tandem/micro-morph solar cells.  相似文献

Commonly, bulk metallic glasses exhibit very limited plastic deformation (<2%) at room temperature. In this letter, through appropriate composition choices, rods of Zr62.55Cu17.55Ni9.9Al10 and Zr64.80Cu14.85Ni10.35Al10 bulk metallic glasses (BMGs) were prepared by using copper-mold suction-casting. X-ray diffraction and differential scanning calorimetry were utilized to determine their structures and thermal stabilities, and uniaxial compression tests were adopted to study their plastic deformation behaviors (PDBs) at room temperature. The results showed that Tg and Tx of the former are 651.5 K and 748 K, respectively, while those of the latter are 646 K and 750 K, respectively. Micro-hardness values are 693 ± 7 Hv and 595 ± 5 Hv for T1 and T2, respectively. During the compression tests, the former underwent about 2.5% engineering strain, i.e., 2.8% true strain, then fractured. While the latter was compressed into a flake-like form, of which, engineering strain values are larger than 70%, i.e., true strain exceeds 120%, showing super-plasticity at room temperature. It can be concluded that micro-hardness and PDBs of BMGs are very sensitive to composition.  相似文献

Lead arsenate glasses containing different concentrations of NiO ranging from 0 to 1 mol% (in steps of 0.2 mol%) were prepared. The samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction and differential thermal analysis. A number of studies viz., optical absorption, thermoluminescence, magnetic susceptibilities and IR spectra, have been carried out on these glasses. The bands observed in the optical absorption spectra of the glasses have been analyzed using Tanabe-Sugano diagrams for d8 ion; the analysis indicates the presence of Ni2+ ions in both tetrahedral and octahedral positions. The increase in the concentration of NiO in the glass matrix shows a gradual transformation of nickel ions from tetrahedral positions to octahedral positions in the glass network. The thermoluminescence light output of the X-ray irradiated glasses has exhibited a glow peak at 353 K (with increasing intensity with an increase in the concentration of NiO) in addition to the conventional peak due to the recombination of electron-hole centers; this glow peak is identified due to 3T2 → 3A2 emission transition of octahedral Ni2+ ions. The value of the magnetic moment evaluated from the measured magnetic susceptibility show a decreasing trend from 3.84 to 3.10 μB with the increase in the concentration of NiO. All these studies indicate an increasing presence of octahedral (lasing) Ni2+ ions in these glasses with the increase in the concentration of NiO.  相似文献
