根据声学模的定义,明确了具有在位势的一维双原子链的晶格振动不存在声学模,讨论了具有在位势的一维双原子链晶格振动的低频支长波模振动图像,得到原胞中两种原子运动的振幅不再一致,低频支长波模不再是原胞质心的运动,且两种原子运动的振幅比随在位势的增大而单调增大.  相似文献

To evaluate the effect of vorticity usually generated by curved flames on the flame stability, laminar premixed planar flames inclined in the gravitational field is asymptotically examined. The flame structure is resolved by a large activation energy asymptotics and a long wave approximation. The coupling between hydrodynamics and diffusion processes is included and near-unity Lewis number is assumed. The results show that as the flame is more inclined from the horizontal plane it shows more unstable characteristics due to not only the decrease of the stabilizing effect of gravity but also the increase of the destabilizing effect of rotational flow. Unlike the planar flame propagating downward with the right angle to the upstream flow, the obtained dispersion relation involves the Prandtl number and shows the destabilizing effect of viscosity. The analysis predicts that the phase velocity of unstable wave depends on the Lewis number as well as the flame angle and, especially for unity Lewis number, it is the same with tangential velocity at the reaction zone. For relatively short wave disturbances, still much larger than flame thickness, the most unstable wavelength is nearly independent on the flame angle and the flame can be stabilized by gravity and diffusion mechanism.  相似文献

For planar wave trains in excitable media, we found a novel type of anomalous dispersion distinguished by bistable domains in the dependence of the propagation velocity on the wavelength. Within one medium alternative stable pulse trains can coexist having the same wavelength but different velocities. The phenomenon is related to oscillatory recovery of excitations, which causes small amplitude oscillations in the refractory tail of pulses. Crucial for the bistability is that the pulses in the trains are locked into one oscillation maximum in the tail of the preceding pulse in the train.  相似文献

Equations of motion for a locally nonequilibrium liquid with internal rotation are derived, and the thermospin effect is considered. It is demonstrated that high-frequency transverse coupled waves of linear velocity, angular velocity of internal rotation, and temperature may propagate a liquid with internal rotation. A dispersion relation and a frequency dependence of the damping ratio are deduced. Comparison between theoretical and experimental values of the transverse sound velocity dispersion shows their satisfactory agreement. Low-frequency transverse waves do not penetrate into the liquid: they decay over a distance on the order of the wavelength. It is shown that frequencies and their corresponding wavenumbers exist in a liquid with internal rotation at which either waves do not decay or a phase shift in the skin layer is absent. It is found that the excitation spectrum may contain a cutoff frequency or an energy gap due to interaction between the linear and angular velocity fields. The dispersion and damping ratio for the coupled waves near synchronism points, where uncoupled waves resonantly interact with each other, are determined.  相似文献

Chalcogenide glasses are ideal materials for developing fiber lasers and amplifiers, remote sensors, high-speed switches, and other devices that operate in the IR range of 1–10 μm. The nonlinear refractive index of chalcogenide glasses may exceed that of quartz glass by a factor of 100–1200 or even more. The data on the dispersion properties of some chalcogenide glass compositions in the IR range are presented. The possibility of forming waveguide structures with specified dispersion properties (in particular with a fixed wavelength at which the group velocity dispersion is zero) from these glasses is numerically investigated. It is shown by the example of completely glassy periodic waveguide structures with planar geometry that the use of photonic band gap modes makes it possible the change the position of zero dispersion in a wide wavelength range. In the calculations the contrast of waveguide structures was varied using parameters of glasses of different composition.  相似文献

The motion of localized deformation sites in mono-and polycrystallites of metals and alloys is investigated experimentally at the stages of easy slip and linear strain hardening. The wave nature of localization of deformation at these stages of plastic flow is established, and the velocity of waves and their dispersion relation are determined. The scale effect and the dependence of the localized deformation wavelength on the grain size are investigated. A qualitative interpretation of the results obtained is proposed.  相似文献

Spatial dispersion is the variation of wave speed with wavelength. It sets in when the acoustic wavelength approaches the natural scale of length of the medium, which could, for example, be the lattice constant of a crystal, the repeat distance in a superlattice, or the grain size in a granular material. In centrosymmetric media, the first onset of dispersion is accommodated by the introduction of fourth order spatial derivatives into the wave equation. These lead to a correction to the phase velocity which is quadratic in the spatial frequency. This paper treats the effect of spatial dispersion on the point force elastodynamic Green's functions of solids. The effects of dispersion are shown to be most pronounced in the vicinity of wave arrivals. These lose their singular form, and are transformed into wave trains known as quasi-arrivals. The step and ramp function wave arrivals are treated, and it is shown that their unfolded quasi-arrival forms can be expressed in terms of integrals involving the Airy function.  相似文献

We investigate the dispersion relation for long wavelength slow Langmuir waves in a relativistic particle beam propagating along a strong magnetic guide field in an evacuated metallic waveguide. For a large class of beam radial profiles, wave phase velocity drops to zero with infinite slope as beam current approaches the space-charge limit. <正>Using the effective medium theory and the waveguide eigenvalue equation,we design a multimode planar periodic waveguide.When a plane wave illuminates the grating at the designed angle and wavelength, more than one leaky modes are excited coincidentally.Then the reflection efficiency around this designed angle and wavelength is investigated using a rigorous coupled wave analysis formulation and a gap of reflection peaks is found.Electric field distributions reveal that this high reflectivity gap is due to the coupling between these two coincidentally excited leaky modes.  相似文献

By a perturbation method two coupled nonlinear partial differential equations are obtained for the nonlinear evolution of a three dimensional transverse wave packet in a hot plasma including the effect of its interaction with a long wavelength ion-acoustic wave. From these two equations a nonlinear dispersion relation is obtained, from which the instability condition of a uniform transverse wave train including the effect of its interaction, both at resonance and at nonresonance with a long wavelength ion-acoustic wave, are deduced. Resonance occurs when the component of group velocity of the longitudinal wave along the direction of propagation of the ion-acoustic wave is equal to the phase velocity of the wave. Assuming the usual type of dependence of amplitude on space and time the coupled equations are transformed into two other coupled equations, which reduced to a single nonliear Schrödingsr equation when three dimensionality is disregarded. The tunneling of a plane monochromatic acoustic wave through a gap between two ferromagnets under conditions of their relative longitudinal displacement has been considered. It has been shown that, when the gap thickness h is comparable to the wavelength, the complete transmission of the acoustic wave at the Damon-Eshbach frequency becomes possible. When the gap thickness is smaller than the wavelength, the complete transmission of the acoustic wave occurs but already at two resonant frequencies. The inclusion of the longitudinal displacement of one of the crystals, in all cases, leads to the violation of resonance conditions and, consequently, to a noticeable decrease in the coefficient of transmission of the acoustic wave through the gap between two ferromagnets; this effect is more pronounced, the higher is the velocity of motion of the crystal. It has been demonstrated that there is a possibility of the wave front reversal occurring with the amplification of the reflected magnetoacoustic wave.  相似文献

基于动量守恒和光参变过程中的三波耦合波方程,和负单轴非线性光学晶体CsLiB6O10的色散方程,研究了在光参变效应中超短激光脉冲由于群速度色散引起的展宽和形变。数值模拟显示,在超短脉冲波形为双曲正割形和无啁啾调制时,高阶群速度色散引起的超短脉冲为50fs时,晶体长度为10mm,紫外光213nm作为基波入射时的脉冲展宽是波长为532nm绿光在同等条件下的1.6倍。脉冲展宽程度与入射波长和晶体长度有关,波长越短和晶体长度越长则脉冲展宽和波形变化越严重,高阶色散引起的超短高斯脉冲展宽,将破坏其波形对称性并引起旁瓣现象。  相似文献

We present the dispersion relation of guided-mode resonances in planar periodic waveguides, both for s-polarized (TF, mode) and p-polarized (TM mode) incident waves. For a fixed homogeneous planar waveguide, dispersion curves of the TE eigenmode cannot cross that of the TM eigenmode at all. That is to say, at a certain wavelength, TE and TM modes cannot be excited with the same propagation constant. Due to Bragg reflection in the planar periodic waveguide, dispersion curves of the TE leaky mode may intersect with that of the TM leaky mode in the first Brillouin zone. We employ these intersections to achieve polarization-independent guided-mode resonance filters.  相似文献

The cubic approximation to the dispersion relation for a relativistic backward-wave oscillator is obtained, and the utility and limits of the approximation are presented. The approximation is obtained by Taylor series expansion of the wave admittance in the dispersion relation for the transverse-magnetic and free-streaming modes of a relativistic, thin, hollow, cylindrical electron beam moving along the axis of a disc-loaded waveguide in a strong axial magnetic field. The resulting cubic dispersion relation yields instability growth rates and frequencies which fall off beyond their maximum more sharply with increasing wavenumber than for the complete dispersion relation. The approximation is found to be quite good near the operating points of contemporary high-power relativistic backward-wave oscillators, namely, for relatively long wavelength and small ratio of Budker's parameter to the relativistic gamma factor of the beam  相似文献

The differential dispersion relation for the E and H modes (TM-like and TE-like, respectively) in planar photonic crystals is used to control the polarization-dependent propagation of light. E- and H-polarized beams were separated by 10 degrees after propagating through a 20-microm-long planar photonic crystal in the wavelength range from 1250 to 1300 nm. The plane-wave expansion calculation matches well with the experimental results. This result represents the first demonstration, to our knowledge, of a polarization splitter realized in a planar photonic crystal configuration in the near-infrared wavelength range operating solely in transmission mode.  相似文献

The propagation of magnetostatic gap waves in the gap between two oppositely magnetized ferromagnets with a relative longitudinal displacement is considered. It is shown that the relative motion of the crystals has the form of the spectrum of magnetostatic waves. In particular, it is found that for certain values of the gap width, the velocity of relative motion of the crystals, and the magnetostatic wavelength, normal (anomalous) dispersion of the symmetric (antisymmetric) mode of the gap structure is transformed into the anomalous (normal) type of dispersion.  相似文献

高速率、大容量的密集波分复用系统是光纤通信系统的最终发展方向 ,单信道速率达到 4 0Gbit/s时 ,光纤的非线性效应、偏振模色散现象对系统的影响更加突出。在综合考虑群速度色散、自相位调制、交叉相位调制、四波混合、偏振模色散等因素的基础上 ,推导了密集波分复用系统中任意信道的耦合非线性薛定谔方程组。利用扩展的分步傅里叶方法对该方程进行了数值计算 ,通过对 8× 4 0Gbit/s密集波分复用系统的仿真 ,分别研究了非线性效应和偏振模色散对密集波分复用系统的影响。发现由于交叉相位调制和四波混合作用 ,多波长的密集波分复用系统比单波系统受非线性效应影响严重 ;系统受偏振模色散与非线性效应的影响程度与输入信号功率有关 ,在入射光单信道平均功率较低 0 .1mW时 ,偏振模色散是影响系统性能的主要因素 ;当入射光单信道平均功率较高1mW时 ,系统受非线性效应影响严重。而偏振模色散在使信号脉冲展宽的同时 ,类似于非零色散位移光纤中的微小色散 ,对非线性效应又有一定的抑制作用。  相似文献

The effect of the structurally damaged isotropic surface layer on the free surface of an isotropic solid on the Rayleigh wave propagation has been considered. The phase velocity dispersion and inverse Rayleigh wave decay length in the second order of vanishing with respect to the ratio of the structurally damaged layer thickness to the wavelength have been obtained in an analytical form. For the dispersion and the inverse wave decay length, the long-wave limit has been studied when the wavelength is much larger than the characteristic size of layer inhomogeneity.
