Summary Several cobalt(II) halide complexes derived from 1,8-bis(2-pyridyl)-3,6-dithiaoctane (bpdto) are described. Chemical analysis suggests their formulae to be: Co(bpdto)X2 (X=Cl, Br, or I). Electrolytic conductivities in acetonitrile, magnetic moments at different temperatures, solid state i.r. and u.v.-visible spectra support a tetrahedral stereochemistry around the cobalt(II). The ligand is bidentate andN-bonded in all cases. This work was presented in the Fifth Annual Meeting of the Portuguese Chemical Society, Porto (Portugal), March 1982.  相似文献

Summary A convenient preparation of the 14-membered macrocyclic diamide 5,7-dioxo-1,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetradecane (LH2) is described. The pK NH + values of the ligand are pK1 = 5.76 and pK2 = 9.63 at 25° and I = 0.1 mol dm–3 (KNO3). With metal ions able to ionise amide hydrogens, the ligand acts as a planar quadridentate, L2–. Thus copper(II) and nickel(II) give the neutral complexes ML, and conductivity measurements confirm that they are nonelectrolytes in aqueous solution. Both the nickel(II) and copper(II) complexes are acid labile unlike the analogues of 1,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetradecane (cyclam). The cobalt(III) complex [CoL(NH3)2]Cl has been characterised and1H n.m.r. measurements established the N-meso stereochemistry at the chiral nitrogen centres.  相似文献

Summary The reaction of [CrCl3(DMF)3] with C-meso-5, 12-dimethyl-1, 4, 8, 11-tetra-azacyclotetradecane(LM) in DMF gives a mixture ofcis-[CrLMCl2]Cl (ca. 90%) andtrans-[CrLMCl2]Cl (ca. 10%). These complexes are readily separated, as thecis-isomer is insoluble in warm methanol while thetrans-isomer is soluble. Using the dichlorocomplexes as precursors it has been possible to prepare a range ofcis-[CrLMX2]+ complexes (X=Br, NO 3 , N 3 , NCS and X2=bidentate oxalate) and alsotrans-[CrLMX2]+ complexes (X=Br, H2O or NCS). The spectroscopic properties and detailed stereochemistry of the complexes are discussed. The aquation and base hydrolysis kinetics ofcis- andtrans-[CrLMCl2]+ have been studied at 25° C. Base hydrolysis of thecis-complex is extremely rapid with KOH =1.46×105 dm3 mol–1 at 25° C. This unusual reactivity appears to be associated with thetrans II stereochemistry of thesec-NH centres of the macrocycle. Base hydrolysis of thetrans complex with thetrans III chiral nitrogen stereochemistry is quite normal with kOH =1.1 dm3 mol–1 s–1 at 25° C.  相似文献

Summary The preparation and characterization of a series of new coordination compounds of cobalt(II), nickel(II) and palladium(II) containing 2-picolyl- or 2-lutidyl-methyl ketone (HPMK or HLMK) and various anions, Cl, Br, NO 3 , NCS or BF 4 , are reported. Complexes of square planar, tetrahedral and octahedral stereochemistry as well as five-coordinate species were isolated. The reaction products were found to be dependent on the molar ratios, pH and the temperature at which the reaction takes place. Cobalt(II) thiocyanate was found to form a complex of the type [CoL3][Co(NCS)4] (L = HPMK or HLMK). Also complexes containing coordinated BF4 were isolated. The ligand field parameters (Dq, B and ) for the cobalt(II) and nickel(II) complexes were calculated using the averaged-ligand-field approximation. The influence of the substituents of theses parameters and on the stereochemistry are discussed.  相似文献

The bidentate ligands, 2-[(N-acetyl)aminopyridine] (AAPH, A) and 2-[(N-benzoyl)aminopyridine] (BAPH, B) have been used to synthesize copper(II) complexes including an exogenous ligand X (X = AcO, HCO2 , N3 and benzimidazole). The complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, electronic and vibrational spectroscopy, magnetic and e.s.r. studies. E.s.r. parameters and visible spectra indicated that all the complexes are monomers and exist in distorted octahedral geometry except for benzimidazole. With benzimidazole as an exogenous ligand, a five coordinate complex is formed.  相似文献

Summary The preparation and characterization oftris-complexes of MnII, CoII, NiII, CuII and ZnII with a new pyridylhydrazone, 2-pyridylcarbaldehyde-N,N-dimethylhydrazone (pch), are described. In all the complexes pch behaves as a bidentate ligand binding through the pyridine and azomethyne nitrogen atoms. The complexes appear to be monomeric, high spin six-coordinate, and a distorted octahedral stereochemistry around the metal is suggested. The e.p.r. results for both CuII compounds indicate a mainly dx 2–y2 ground state with a static Jahn-Teller distortion, whilst for the MnII complex the e.p.r. data indicates a very low symmetry for the MnN6 polyhedron.  相似文献

Six novel pinch-porphyrin complexes [(picdien)(protoporphyrinate dimethyl ester)]copper(II) (7), [(picdien)(mesoporphyrinate dimethyl ester)]copper(II) (8) and [(picdien)(deuteroporphyrinate dimethyl ester)]copper(II) (9), [(picdien)(protoporphyrinate dimethyl ester)]zinc(II) (13), [(picdien)(mesoporphyrinate dimethyl ester)]zinc(II) (14) and [(picdien)(deuteroporphyrinate dimethyl ester)]zinc(II) (15), were prepared from the corresponding free copper(II)-porphyrins (4–6), and zinc(II)-porphyrins (10–12) and picdien (N-(3H-imidazol-4-ylmethyl)-N-{2-[(3H-imidazol-4-ylmethyl)-amino]-ethyl}-ethane-2,3-diamine). Spectroscopic studies show that complexes (7–9) and (13–15) have the pinch-porphyrin type structure previously found in iron(III) complex models of peroxidases. Complexes (7–9), were characterized by u.v.–vis., m.c.d., and e.s.r. spectroscopy. E.s.r. spectra of the copper parent compounds (4–6) at ca. 10–2–10–4 M concentrations were typical of copper(II)-dimers. The addition of the picdien ligand broke up the dimers as detected by e.s.r. Compounds (7–9) are predominantly monomeric at ca. 10–3 M concentration. The presence of picdien in (7–9) distorts the porphyrin internal portion of the plane so as to make these four internal nitrogen atoms, coordinated to copper(II), e.s.r.-distinguishable. MO and ligand field theories were used to characterize and to evaluate the directional covalence parameters of compounds (7–9). A non-fully axial, out-of-the-porphyrin-plane bonding was found for (7–9), similar to the bonding of the pinch-porphyrins-iron(III). However the in-plane distortion produced by the presence of the picdien ligand on copper(II) is significantly larger than in pinch-porphyrin-iron(III). The n.m.r. data show that the porphyrin-zinc(II) is the less strained and has the weakest bonded structure. The coordination number of the pinch-porphyrin with iron(III), copper(II) and zinc(II), is in all cases six.  相似文献

Summary Some copper(II) complexes of the type Cu(HL)X·nH2O (where H2L = benzoin thiosemicarbazone; X=NO3; Cl, Br, SCN, ClO4 or 1/2SO4; n=O–2) have been prepared and characterized. All complexes have tetragonally distorted octahedral stereochemistry except the sulphatocomplex which is square pyramidal. The i.r. spectra reveal that HL acts as a monobasic tridentate ligand coordinating through the azine group nitrogen atom, thiocarbonyl sulphur atom and hydroxylic oxygen atom while NO3, Cl, Br and ClO4 act as terminal monodentate ligands and SCN and SO4 act as bidentate bridging ligands. The polycrystalline e.s.r. spectra suggest tetragonal symmetry for the copper(II) ion, involving a dx 2–y2 ground state.  相似文献

The thermal decompositions of cobalt(II), nickel(II) and copper(II) complexes of4-(3'-sulfonylazido-6'-methoxyphenylazo)-1-phenyl-3-methyl-2-pyrazolin-5-one H(D1–SO2N3) and 4-(4'-sulfonylazido phenylazo)-3-phenyl-3-methyl-2-pyrazolin-5-one H(D2–SO2N3) were studied by thermogravimetry. The decomposition in all cases takes place along two stages. The first stage is due to the elimination of water and nitrogen molecules with the formation of tetracoordinate complexes containing nitrene reactive species[M(DSO2N:)2]. The second stage represents the decomposition of the material to the metal oxide. The kinetics of the decomposition were examined by using Coats–Redfern, the decomposition in all complexes was found to be first order for the first and second stages. The activation energies and other activation parameters (H* and S* and G*) were computed and related to the bonding and stereochemistry of the complexes. This revised version was published online in November 2005 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

IR studies revealed that unlike iron(II) meso-tetraphenylporphyrinate (FeTPP), NO interacts with sublimed layers of iron(II) meso-mono-4-pyridyltriphenylporphyrinate (FeM4PyTPP) to give two types of nitrosyl complexes. The stretching vibration frequency of the coordinated NO in one of them is close to that observed in the nitrosyl FeTPP complex, while in the other complex, it is 28 cm–1lower. The spectral differences observed upon coordination of NO by two porphyrins with similar structures are explained by the fact that in the sublimed FeM4PyTPP layers, the structures are formed in which the pyridyl group of one molecule is coordinated by the metal ion of the neighboring molecule, while the nitrosyl ligand occupies the sixth coordination site. The thermal stability of the complexes formed, the effect of the extra ligands on the layer structure, and the mechanism of the nitrosyl ligand exchange for its isotopic analog 15NO are discussed.  相似文献

The reaction of aquo-ethanolic solutions of Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) salts and ethanolic solution of capric acid hydrazide (L) yielded paramagnetic, high-spin bis- and tris(ligand) chelate complexes. The tris(ligand) complexes, [ML 3]X 2·nH2O [M=Co(II), Ni(II);X=NO 3 , ClO 4 , 1/2SO 4 2– ], have an octahedral structure formed on account of the bidentate (NO) coordination of three neutral hydrazide molecules. In the bis(ligand) complexes,ML 2(NCS)2 [M=Co(II), Ni(II)] and CuL 2 X 2·nH2O (X=NO 3 , ClO 4 and 1/2SO 4 2– ), the oxoanions and NCS take also part in coordination. The complexes have been characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectra, magnetic measurements, molar conductivity and TG analysis.

The stability constants of ZnII, CuII, NiII and CoII with different tripodal ligands, 1,3,5-tris(2,5-diazaoctxyl)benzene (L1), 1,3,5-tris(2,5-diazanonxyl)benzene (L2) and 1,3,5-tris[3-(2-pyridyl)-2-azapropyl]benzene (L3) have been studied at 25 °C in 0.1 mol dm–3 KNO3 aqueous solution using potentiometric titrations. During the titrations, the ligand concentrations were kept constant at 1 × 10–3 mol dm–3, while 1:1 and 1:3 metal:ligand ratios were used for each system. The results indicated that, in the 1:1 metal:ligand ratio, the binding of MII to the ligand gives rise to several 1:1 complexes differing in their degree of protonation whereas in the 3:1 ratio, polynuclear complexes are formed. Additionally, the ternary complexes of the tripod ligands, with CuII-5-substituted-1, 10-phenanthroline have been investigated and the results show that linear free energy relationship exists in such ternary systems.  相似文献

The acid-induced dissociation of copper(II) porphyrin complexes with a high degree of meso- and β-substitution in the ligand was studied. The copper(II) complexes with octaethylporphyrins containing 0, 1, 2, 3, and 4 meso-phenyl substituents were ranked with respect to the stability. Octaβ-alkyl and unsymmetrical meso-phenyl substitution affects not only the quantitative characteristics of dissociation of the complexes but also the kinetic relationships of the process.__________Translated from Zhurnal Obshchei Khimii, Vol. 75, No. 3, 2005, pp. 497–503.Original Russian Text Copyright © 2005 by Kosareva, Klyueva, Lomova, Suslova.  相似文献

Nickel(II) complexes of general empirical formula, NiLX·nH2O (L = deprotonated form of the Schiff base formed by condensation of N-methyl-S-methyldithiocarbazate with 2-hydroxybenzaldehyde or 5-bromo-2-hydroxybenzaldehyde; X = Cl, Br, NCS, AcO or CN; n = 0, 1) have been prepared and characterized by a variety of physico-chemical techniques. Magnetic and spectroscopic data support a square-planar structure for these complexes. The crystal structure of the [Ni(ONMeS)CN]·H2O complex (ONMeS = anionic form of the 2-hydroxybenzaldehyde Schiff base of N-methyl-S-methyldithiocarbazate) has been determined by X-ray diffraction. The complex has a distorted square-planar structure in which the Schiff base is coordinated to the nickel(II) ion as a uninegatively charged anion coordinating via the phenolic oxygen atom, the azomethine nitrogen atom and the thione sulfur atom. The fourth coordination position is occupied by a cayano ligand. The antifungal properties of the Schiff bases and their nickel(II) complexes were studied against three plant pathogenic fungi. The ligands display moderate fungitoxicities against these organisms but their nickel(II) complexes are less active than the free ligands.  相似文献

Summary Copper(II), nickel(II) and cobalt(II) perchlorate complexes of 5,5-dimethylcyclohexane-1,2,3-trione-2-(p-nitrophenyl-hydrazone) (HL1), 5,5-dimethyl-cyclohexane-1,2,3-trione-2-(p-chlorophenylhydrazone) (HL2), 5,5-dimethylcyclohexane-1,2,3-trione-2-(o-chlorophenylhydrazone) (HL4), 5,5-dimethylcyclohexane-1,2,3-trione-2-(o-methylphenyl-hydrazone) (HL5) and 5,5-dimethylcyclohexane-1,2,3-trione-2-(m-methylphenylhydrazone) (HL6) have been prepared, and characterized using analytical, spectral and magnetic measurements. The data reveal that the reaction of Cu(ClO4)2 (1 mol) in EtOH, with all ligands, produces complexes of the type CuL(ClO4)(H2O).nH2O. Nickel(II) and cobalt(II) perchlorates react only with HL1 and HL2 to produce the complexes ML(ClO4)(H2O)3 (where M = NiII, L = L and L2, M = CoII, L = L1) and Co(HL2)2-(ClO4)2.2H2O. The spectral data show that the ligands behave as monobasic bidentate in their azo forms, except HL2 which reacts with cobalt(II) as a neutral bidentate ligand in its hydrazone form.  相似文献

A new binucleating ligand incorporating four oxime groups, butane-2,3-dione O-[4-aminooxy-2,3-bis-(2-hydroxyimino-1-methyl-propylideneaminooxymethyl)-but-2-enyl]-dioxime, (H4mto), has been synthesized and its dinuclear cobalt(III), copper(II), and homo- and hetero-tetranuclear copper(II)–manganese(II) complexes have been prepared and characterized by 1H- and 13C-n.m.r., i.r., magnetic moments and mass spectral studies. Elemental analyses, stoichiometric and spectroscopic data indicate that the metal ions in the complexes are coordinated to the oxime nitrogen atoms (C=N) and the data support the proposed structure for H4mto and its complexes. Moreover, dinuclear cobalt(III) and copper(II) complexes of H4mto have a 2:1 metal:ligand ratio.  相似文献

Four new picolyl hydrazones were prepared via Schiff-base condensation of picolonic acid hydrazide with α-formyl-(L1), α-acetyl-(L2), α-benzoyl-(L3) pyridine and α-formyl-(L4) thiophene. Copper(II) complexes of these hydrazones and a series of copper(II) complexes containing (L2) and various anions (Cl, Br, NO3, SCN, SO4, ClO4, AcO, PF6 and BF4) have been synthesized. Elemental, thermal analysis, molar conductivity, magnetic moment measurements and spectral (i.r., electronic and e.s.r.) studies have been used to characterize the prepared compounds. The overall structure and reactivity of the reported copper(II) chelates critically depend on the ligand structure and the nature of counter anion incorporated in the complex molecule. Octahedral [complex (7)], square-pyramidal [complex (8)] and square-planar monomeric species [complexes (1–6), (9) and (10)] and a dimeric structure with oxygen bridge in square-planar geometry [complexes (11) and (12)] were suggested. The reported copper(II) complexes exhibit promising oxidase catalytic activity towards the aerobic oxidation of vitamin C. A linear correlation exists between the oxidase catalytic activity and the Lewis-acidity of the central copper(II) ion created by the donating properties of the parent ligand, as well the irregularity of the coordination environment. The probable mechanistic implications of the catalytic oxidation reactions are discussed.  相似文献

The synthesis of cobalt(II), nickel(II) and zinc(II) complexes of 2-pyridine-2-yl-3(pyridine-2-carboxylideneamino)-1,2-dihydroquinazolin-4(3H)-one is described. The ligand and metal complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, conductivity measurements, spectral (u.v.–vis., i.r., 1D n.m.r., 2D hetcor and mass) and thermal studies. The cobalt(II) complex crystallizes as pink crystals in the monoclinic crystal system, space group P21/n with a = 10.066(6) Å, b = 15.929(9) Å, c = 12.624(7) Å, α = 90.00(9)°, β = 110.850 (8)°, γ = 90.00, V = 1891.5 (18) Å3 and Z = 4. The geometry around the cobalt atom is distorted trigonal bipyramidal with τ = 0.83 [structural parameter, τ = (βα)/60; where α and β are the two basal angles in a five coordinate complex].  相似文献

The binuclear complexes of Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), and Zn(II) with 2-[3-(benzylideneamino)-2-(benzylidenehydrazono)-4-oxothiazolidin-5-yl] acetic acid ligand (HL) were prepared and their stoichiometry was determined by elemental analysis. The stereochemistry of the studied binuclear metal complexes was confirmed by analyzing their infrared spectra, 1H NMR, and magnetic moment. Thermal decomposition studies of the binuclear complexes have been performed to demonstrate the status of water molecules present in these binuclear complexes and their general decomposition pattern. The equilibrium geometry of the ligand and its studied complexes were calculated using density function theory (DFT) calculations at the B3LYP/GENECP level of the theory. The results show that the ligand and its complexes are nonplanar structures as indicated from the values of the dihedral angles. Extent of distortion from regular geometry has been performed and discussed in terms of the values of the angles between the central metals and the coordinated sites. The EHOMO and ELUMO energies of the studied ligand and its complexes are used to calculate the global properties. The nonlinear optical parameters (NLO), anisotropy of the polarizibility (Δα), and the mean first-order hyperpolarizability (<β>) were calculated. The (<β>) values were compared with Urea as a reference molecule and the results of (<β>) values showed that the ligand and the studied complexes have good NLO behaviors.  相似文献

Summary Complexes of CoII, NiII, CuII, ZnII, CdII, HgII and UO 2 II with benzil bis(4-phenylthiosemicarbazone), H2BPT, have been synthesized and their structures assigned based on elemental analysis, molar conductivity, magnetic susceptibility and spectroscopic measurements. The i.r. spectra suggest that the ligand behaves as a binegative quadridentate (NSSN) (CoII, CuII, HgII and UO 2 II complexes) or as a binegative quadridentate-neutral bidentate chelating agent (NiII, ZnII and CdII complexes). Octahedral structures for the CoII and NiII complexes and square-planar structure for the CuII complex are suggested on the basis of magnetic and spectral evidence. The crystal field parameters (Dq, B and B) for the CoII complex are calculated and agree fairly well with the values reported for known octahedral complexes. The ligand can be used for the microdetermination of NiII ions of concentration in the 0.4–6×10–4 mol l–1 range and the apparent formation constant for the species generated in solution has also been calculated.  相似文献
