Using results of a recent calculation of the Λ(1520) in the nuclear medium, which show that the medium width is about five
times the free width, we study the A-dependence of the Λ(1520) production cross-section in the reactions γA → K+Λ(1520)A′ and pA → pK+Λ(1520)A′. We find a sizable A-dependence in the ratio of the nuclear cross-sections for heavy nuclei with respect to a light one due to the large value
of the Λ(1520) width in the medium, showing that devoted experiments, easily within reach in present facilities, can provide
good information on that magnitude by measuring the cross-sections studied here. 相似文献

With the aim of extracting information on the shift of the ω mass in the nuclear medium we analyze data obtained at ELSA from
where claims for evidence of a mass shift of the ω have been made. We develop a Monte Carlo simulation code which takes into
account the possible reactions in the experimental set-up of (γA → π0γX) in the vicinity of the ω production region with subsequent ω → π0γ decay. We compare our results with experiment for the distribution of π0γ invariant masses and conclude that the distribution is compatible with an enlarged ω width of about 90MeV at nuclear-matter
density and no shift in the mass. This change in the width would be compatible with the preliminary results obtained from
the transparency ratio in the A-dependence of ω production. The discrepancy of the present conclusions with former claims of an evidence for a shift of the
ω mass stems from a different choice of background which is discussed in the paper. 相似文献

Using a germanium-detector array for hypernuclear γ spectroscopy (Hyperball), we measured B(E2) of the 7
ΛLi hypernucleus and observed a significant shrinkage of the 6Li core induced by a Λ-particle. In this way, nuclear properties can be drastically changed by introducing a Λ-particle, which
can be investigated by high-resolution hypernuclear γ spectroscopy. In the future neutron-rich hypernuclei will also be studied,
where interesting modifications of nuclear structure by a Λ-particle are expected.

Simulations based on a coupled-channel transport model have been performed to analyze the feasibility to study the in-medium
ω mass exploiting the process γ + A→π0γ + X for C, Ca and Nb nuclei. The distortions due to final-state interactions of the π0 and background contributions from the reaction γ + A→π0π0 + X are found to be small in the mass range of interest ( 0.6 < M

by the isoscalar c3 contact vertex. Our calculation confirms that the largest long-range isospin-violating NN potentials arise from the 2πγ exchange diagrams involving the large low-energy constants c

We evaluate theoretically the radiative decay widths into γΛ and γΣ
0 of the two poles of the Λ(1405) found in chiral unitary theories and we find quite different results for each of the two poles. We show that, depending
on which reaction is used to measure the Λ(1405) radiative decays, one gives more weight to one or the other pole, resulting in quite different shapes in the γΛ(Σ
0) invariant-mass distributions. Our results for the high-energy pole agree with those of the empirical determination of the
γΛ and γΣ
0 radiative widths (based on an isobar model fitting of the K-p atom data), which are sometimes referred to as “experimental data”. We have made a detailed study of the K
-
p→π
0
γΛ(Σ
0) and π
-
p→K
0
γΛ(Σ
0) reactions and have shown that they, indeed, lead to different shapes for the γΛ(Σ

In-beam gamma-ray spectroscopy, carried out at the Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics in the recent past, using heavy-ion projectiles
from the pelletron accelerator centres in the country and multi-detector arrays have yielded significant data on the structure
of a large number of nuclei spanning different mass regions. The experiments included the study of two-fold γγ-coincidence
events for establishing decay schemes, directional correlation of oriented nuclei (DCO) for help in spin assignments and Doppler
shift attenuation for lifetime information. The studies have led to the observation of rotational sequences of states in nuclei
near closed shell in the mass A=110 region, vibrational spectra in nuclei with A ∼ 60, interplay between single-particle and collective modes of excitation in the doubly-odd bromine isotopes, decoupled
bands with large quadrupole deformation in 77Br, shape transition with rotational frequency within a band in 135Pm and octupole collectivity in 153Eu. Particle-rotor-model and cranked-shell-model calculations have been carried out to provide an understanding of the underlying

The equation is derived, similar to the Bohr-Mottelson one, which describes the rotation and vibrations of the nuclear ellipsoid
of inertia. Using it we considered the dynamics of nonrotating nuclei, whose energy landscape has minima corresponding to
prolate and oblate shapes, connected by the collective path, along which the triaxiality parameter γ varies from γ = 0 to π/3. Peculiarities of the barrier tunneling in γ direction are considered with the aid of the modified WKB approximation. The electric-monopole-transition strength between
the levels of the ground 0+ doublet of the nuclei with mixed prolate-oblate shapes is calculated. The results are consistent with the experimental data
for Kr isotopes.

Eight high-spin states in 36Ar below 10MeV excitation energy, among them a prospective J
π = 8- state at 9408keV and the J? 8 levels of the recently discovered superdeformed rotational band, have been observed by n-γ coincidence measurements with
the 33S(α, nγ) reaction at E
α = 14.4 and 13.4MeV. High-spin assignments of, respectively, J
π = 6+ and 5- were obtained for the E
p = 1209 and 1462keV (E
x = 9682 and 9927keV) resonances of the 35Cl (p,γ) reaction by a measurement of γ-ray angular distributions. The spectrum of the high-spin and of the E
x? 7.4MeV levels is decomposed according to the underlying shell model configurations with n = 0, 1, 2, 4 particles excited from the N = 2 into the N = 3 major shell. The role of four-particle excitations, all connected with large prolate distortions, is elucidated for the
entire A = 36-40 mass region.

The experimental results on the initiation of various (γ, n) and (p, n) nuclear reactions in the picosecond laser plasma are presented. It is demonstrated that the following (γ, n) and (p, n) nuclear reactions can be initiated at a laser intensity of 2 × 1018 W/cm2 with the threshold energies of γ-quanta ranging from 1.67 to 7.56 MeV and the threshold energies of protons ranging from 1.88 to 5 MeV: 9Be(γ, n)2α, 181Ta(γ, n)180Ta, 7Li(p, n)7Be, 63Cu(p, n)63Zn, 48Ti(p, n)48V. The method based on the detection of fast neutrons using the 3He counters is employed for the measurement of the number
of the initiated (γ, n) and (p, n) nuclear reactions. The measured yield of the (γ, n) and (p, n) nuclear reactions ranges from 5 × 101 to 105 reactions per laser pulse. 相似文献

The yields of 135Cs nuclei in a high-spin (19/2) isomeric state and of nuclei neighboring it were measured for photonuclear reactions of the
(γ, f) and (γ, α) types. The experiments in question were performed by using bremsstrahlung from a microtron at the maximum electron energy
of 25 MeV. The product nuclei were identified by their half-lives and by the lines of gamma radiation emitted in their decay,
and the reaction yields R were determined by the ratios of the intensities of these lines to the bremsstrahlung flux. The cross sections for isomer
production were calculated, and the angular momenta of product nuclei immediately before the cascade of gamma transitions
populating the ground or an isomeric nuclear state were evaluated on the basis of these results. An enhanced yield of the
high-spin isomer of 135Cs in the fission reaction in relation to the respective (γ, α) reaction and in relation to the results of the calculations is found. 相似文献
