A naphthalimide-based fluorescent probe, NPQ, that contains a novel receptor was successfully developed. NPQ exhibited "turn-on" fluorescence and excellent selectivity toward Ag(+) in the presence of various other metal ions in aqueous solution. A series of control compounds were designed and synthesized in order to explore the photoinduced electron transfer (PET) quenching mechanism of NPQ and binding mode of NPQ with Ag(+). Moreover, with the NPQ-Ag(+) complex, I(-) was easily selectively recognized by a marked fluorescence quenching. The live cell imaging experiments demonstrate that NPQ can be used as a fluorescent probe for monitoring Ag(+) in living cells.  相似文献

To explore a new modular metal ion sensor design strategy, fluorophores and ligands were incorporated into short DNA-like oligomers. Compound 1 was found to function as a selective sensor for Ag(+) in aqueous buffer, where low micromolar concentrations of Ag(+) induce a red-shifted, turn-on fluorescence signal. Experiments with HeLa cells show that 1 can penetrate cells and yield a signal for intracellular Ag(+). This suggests a broadly applicable approach to developing sensors for a wide variety of cations.  相似文献

A new 1,1'-thiobis(2-naphthoxy)-based receptor molecule (L) containing a benzimidazole moiety has been synthesized and characterized by (1)H NMR, ESI-MS, and elemental analysis. The selectivity of L has been explored in aqueous methanol, resulting in selective (7.5 ± 0.5)-fold switch-on fluorescence response toward Ag(+) among 14 different transition, alkali, and alkaline earth metal ions studied. The complexation of Ag(+) by L has been addressed by ESI-MS, (1)H NMR, and UV-vis spectra. Microstructural features of L and its Ag(+) complex have been measured by AFM and TEM. The morphological features of L alone and L in the presence of Ag(+) differ dramatically both in shape and size, and the ion induces the formation of chains owing to its coordinating ability toward benzimidazole. Further, the in situ [Ag(+)-L] complex was titrated against 20 naturally occurring amino acids and found that this complex acts as a secondary recognition ensemble toward Cys, Asp, and Glu by switch-off fluorescence.  相似文献

The fluorescent chemosensors 3, 5 and 7 based on thiacalix[4]arene bearing naphthyl groups have been designed and synthesized. The optical chemosensor 3 based on a thiacalix[4]arene of cone conformation behaves as "turn-on" optical chemosensor for Fe(3+) and F(-) ions. However, chemosensors 5 and 7 based on a thiacalix[4]arene of 1,3-alternate conformation demonstrate "turn-on" optical behaviour for Hg(2+), F(-) ions (with receptor 5 as turn-on for K(+) ions also) and "turn-off" behaviour for Fe(3+) ions. The simultaneous presence of Fe(3+) and Hg(2+) or K(+) or F(-) ions results in formulation of reversible "on-off" switches. Various molecular logic gates developed in response to molecular switching between these chemical inputs have been integrated into sequential logic circuits with memory function in a feedback loop which mimics "set-reset" molecular level information processing device.  相似文献

Three novel hybrid materials have been synthesized by ligands: N-(2-vinylsulfanyl-ethylidene)-benzene-1,2-dimine (SBD), N-pyridin-2-ylmethylene-benzene-1,2-dimine (NBD) and N-furan-2-ylmethylene-benzene-1,2-dimine (OBD), covalently linking to multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs). These MWCNT hybrid materials were used both as ionophores and as ion-to-electron transducers to construct Ag(+) carbon paste electrodes. The resulting electrodes show higher selectivity to Ag(+) than other cations tested. Among the three electrodes, the electrode based on SBD-g-MWCNTs with optimum composition shows the best performance to Ag(+). It exhibits an excellent Nernstian response to Ag(+) in the concentration range from 8.8 × 10(-8) to 1.0 × 10(-1) M with a detection limit of 6.3 × 10(-8) M, and it can also be used over a wide pH range of 3.0-8.0 with a quick response time of 5 s. The response mechanism of the proposed electrode was also investigated by using AC impedance and UV-vis spectroscopy techniques.  相似文献

Aryl thioesters of peptide segments were prepared by the conventional 9-fluorenylmethoxycarbonyl (Fmoc) strategy using a novel N-alkyl cysteine (NAC)-assisted thioesterification reaction. The peptide carrying NAC at its C-terminus was prepared by the Fmoc strategy and converted to the aryl thioester by 4-mercaptophenylacetic acid (MPAA) treatment without significant side reactions. The peptide thioester was used for the efficient preparation of 95-amino acid (AA) chemokine CCL27 by an Ag(+)-free thioester method.  相似文献

The behaviour of a new type of electrode, made from ceramic Ag(2)S, has been investigated. The electrode response is Nernstian for Ag(+) over the range 10(-6)-2M and for Hg(2+) in the concentration range 10(-6)-10(-2)M, both at constant ionic strength (0.1M). The electrode is Ag(+)-selective, with maximum interference from Hg(2+). It can be used for acid-base potentiometric titration and for potentiometric Ag(+) and Hg(2+) precipitation titrations.  相似文献

Biased Born-Oppenheimer molecular dynamics simulations are performed to compute redox potential and free energy curves for the redox half reaction Ag(+)-->Ag(2+)+e(-) in aqueous solution. The potential energy surfaces of reactant and product state are linearly coupled and the system transferred from the reduced state to the oxidized state by variation of the coupling parameter from 0 to 1. The redox potential is obtained by thermodynamic integration of the average ionization energy of Ag(+). Diabatic free energy curves of reduced (R) and oxidized (O) states are obtained to good statistical accuracy by reweighting and combining the set of biased distributions of the ionization energy. The diabatic free energy curves of Ag(+) and Ag(2+) are parabolic over a wide range of the reaction coordinate in agreement with the linear response assumption that underlies Marcus theory. However, we observe deviations from parabolic behavior in the equilibrium region of Ag(+) and find different values for the reorganization free energy of R (1.4 eV) and O (0.9 eV). The computed reorganization free energy of Ag(2+) is in good agreement with the experimental estimate of 0.9-1.2 eV obtained from photoelectron spectroscopy. As suggested by our calculations, the moderate deviation from linear response behavior found for Ag(+) is likely related to the highly fluxional solvation shell of this ion, which exhibits water exchange reactions on the picosecond time scale of the present molecular dynamics simulation.  相似文献

A new bifunctional probe based on a pyrene-amino acid conjugate for the differential response of Al(3+) and H(+) was demonstrated for the first time. Interestingly, two solvent-dependent sensing mechanisms for Al(3+), which feature a ratiometric change from excimer to monomer in CH(3)OH and a turn-on response in water, are also disclosed.  相似文献

Thioamide derivative with a pyrene fluorophore was smoothly transformed to its corresponding amide by Zr(4+) ions in the presence of hydrogen peroxide. The transformation was evidenced by (1)H NMR spectroscopy and the signaling was completed within 10 min after sample preparation. Interference from Ag(+) and Hg(2+) ions in Zr(4+)-selective fluorescence signaling was readily suppressed with the use of Sn(2+) as a reducing additive. Discrimination of Zr(4+) from closely related hafnium, which is a frequent contaminant in commercial zirconium, was not possible. Prominent Zr(4+)-selective turn-on type fluorescence signaling was possible with a detection limit of 4.6 × 10(-6) M in an aqueous 99% ethanol solution.  相似文献

Some podands, acyclic polyethers, were utilized as membrane active components to prepare Ag(+)-selective polymeric membrane electrodes. The thiapodand-based electrodes exhibited considerable selectivity toward Ag(+) over other heavy metal ions including Cd(2+), Pb(2+), Cu(2+) and Hg(2+). Also, good selectivity over alkali and alkali earth metal ions were observed. Response slopes, pH effects, response time, and signal baseline return of the sensor systems were studied in static mode and/or in a flow-injection system. The Ag(+)-selectivity was explained by the soft-soft interaction of the Ag(+) ion with the sulfur donor atoms as well as the stacking interaction between aromatic end groups of the host molecule on complexation.  相似文献

A new tool is presented to control formation of Ag nanoparticles. Small amounts of silver ions were added to dilute solutions of long-chain sodium polyacrylates (NaPA). Four NaPA samples covering a molar mass regime of 97 kD < or = Mw < or = 650 kD have been used. With amounts of added Ag(+) as low as 1-2% of the COO(-) groups of the polyanionic chains, significant changes could already be induced in the NaPA coils with 650 kD. If the NaPA concentration was kept below 0.1 g/L, the coils with 650 kD exhibited a significant coil shrinking in stable solutions. At larger NaPA concentrations, addition of Ag+ initiates an aggregation of the polyacrylate coils toward compact structures. Coil shrinking and aggregation was revealed by means of time-resolved static light scattering. If exposed to UV-radiation, small Ag particles formed within the shrunken anionic polyacrylate coils. The Ag nanoparticles were identified by means of an enhanced light scattering and a characteristic plasmon absorption band around 410 nm. No such Ag particle formation could be observed even at 5 times larger concentrations of Ag(+) and NaPA if the two smallest polyacrylate samples have been used under otherwise equal conditions. This molar mass sensitive response of NaPA to Ag(+)-addition suggests an interesting phenomenon: if the coil size of the NaPa chains, which act as Ag(+) collectors, is large enough, local Ag(+) concentration in these coil-shaped Ag(+) containers exceeds a critical value, and irradiation with UV generates Ag nanoparticles.  相似文献

Stability constants of complexes formed by gossypol and by ten of its Schiff bases with Ag (+) cations were determined by the potentiometric method. The potentiometric and ESI MS experiments indicate the formation of AgL (+) and Ag 2L (2+) complexes between the Schiff bases G1-G7 and Ag (+) cations as well as the formation of AgL (+), Ag 2L (2+), AgL 2 (+) and Ag 3L 2 (3+) complexes between the Schiff bases G8-G10 and Ag (+) cations. The highest stability constant was found for the AgL (+) complex of G8 Schiff base and the lowest one for the AgL (+) complex of G molecule. The (13)C NMR spectra of mixtures between G and AgClO 4 as well as G1-G10 and AgClO 4 indicate that the complexation of the Ag (+) cations is exclusively realized by the aldehyde-aldehyde tautomer of gossypol and by the enamine-enamine form of gossypol Schiff bases, respectively. We show that the main coordination sites for the Ag (+) metal cations are either the oxygen or the nitrogen atoms of the amine parts of the Schiff bases of gossypol. The energetically most favorable structures of the Ag (+) complexes with gossypol (G) or with the gossypol Schiff bases (G1-G10) were calculated and visualized by the AM1d method at an semiempirical level of theory.  相似文献

Results obtained by use of the PVC + tricresyl phosphate membrane-electrode in potentiometric precipitation titration of some halides and pseudohalides are given. Solutions of Ag(+), Tl(+) and Hg(2)(2+) were used as titrants, to which the membrane is responsive. The fast response to Ag(+) ions allowed the determination of iodide by automatic recording of the potentiometric curve (or its derivative).  相似文献

Vanadium-silver bimetallic oxide cluster ions (V(x) Ag(y) O(z) (+) ; x=1-4, y=1-4, z=3-11) are produced by laser ablation and reacted with ethane in a fast-flow reactor. A reflectron time of flight (Re-TOF) mass spectrometer is used to detect the cluster distribution before and after the reactions. Hydrogen atom abstraction (HAA) reactions are identified over VAgO(3) (+) , V(2) Ag(2) O(6) (+) , V(2) Ag(4) O(7) (+) , V(3) AgO(8) (+) , V(3) Ag(3) O(9) (+) , and V(4) Ag(2) O(11) (+) ions, in which the oxygen-centered radicals terminally bonded on V atoms are active sites for the facile HAA reactions. DFT calculations are performed to study the structures, bonding, and reactivity. The reaction mechanisms of V(2) Ag(2) O(6) (+) +C(2) H(6) are also given. The doped Ag atoms with a valence state of +1 are highly dispersed at the periphery of the V(x) Ag(y) O(z) (+) cluster ions. The reactivity can be well-tuned gradually by controlling the number of Ag atoms. The steric protection due to the peripherally bonded Ag atoms greatly enhances the selectivity of the V-Ag bimetallic oxide clusters with respect to the corresponding pure vanadium oxide systems.  相似文献

We report a gelator that is responsive to Ag(+) and Li(+) cations but unresponsive to Na(+) and K(+), and demonstrate that silver-alkene interactions play a vital role in mediating the selective gel-sol response to Ag(+).  相似文献

The electroswitchable and the biocatalytic/electrochemical switchable interfacial properties of a Ag(+)-biphenyldithiol (BPDT) monolayer associated with a Au surface are described. Upon the application of a potential corresponding to -0.2 V the Ag(+)-BPDT is reduced to the Ag(0)-BPDT interface, and silver nanoclusters are generated on the interface. The application of a potential that corresponds to 0.2 V reoxidizes the monolayer to the Ag(+)-BPDT monolayer. The reversible electrochemical transformation of the Ag(+)-BPDT monolayer and of the Ag(0)-BPDT surface was followed by electrochemical means and surface plasmon resonance spectroscopy (SPR). The SPR experiments enabled us to follow the kinetics of nanoclustering of Ag(0) on the surface. The hydrophobic/hydrophilic properties of the surface are controlled by the electrochemically induced transformation of the interface between the Ag(+)-BPDT and Ag(0)-BPDT states. The Ag(0)-BPDT monolayer reveals enhanced hydrophilicity. The hydrophobic/hydrophilic properties of the interface were probed by contact angle measurements and force interactions with a hydrophobically-functionalized AFM tip. The Ag(0)-BPDT interface was also biocatalytically generated using alkaline phosphatase, AlkPh, and p-aminophenyl phosphate as substrate. The biocatalytically generated p-aminophenol reduces Ag(+) ions associated with the surface to Ag(0) nanoclusters. This enables the cyclic biocatalytic/electrochemical control of the surface properties of the modified electrode.  相似文献

The interactions of Na(+) and Ag(+) cations with an Ag(111) surface in the presence and absence of water molecules were investigated with cluster models and ab initio methods. The Ag surface was described with two-layered Ag(10) and Ag(18) cluster models, and MP2/RECP/6-31+G(d) was used as the computational method. The effect of the basis set superposition error (BSSE) was taken into account with counterpoise (CP) correction. The interactions between Na(+) and Ag(111) surface were found to be primarily electrostatic, and the interaction energies and equilibrium distances at the different adsorption sites were closely similar. The largest CP-corrected MP2 adsorption energy for Na(+) was -190.2 kJ/mol. Owing to the electrostatic nature of the Na(+)-Ag(111) interaction, Na(+) prefers to be completely surrounded by water molecules rather than directly adsorbed to the surface. Ag(+)-Ag(111) interactions were much stronger than Na(+)-Ag(111) interactions because they were dominated by orbital contributions. The largest CP-corrected MP2 adsorption energy for Ag(+) was -358.9 kJ/mol. Ag(+) prefers to adsorb on sites where it can bind to several surface atoms, and in the presence of water molecules, it remains adsorbed to the surface while the water molecules form hydrogen bonds with one another. The CP correction had an effect on the interaction energies but did not change the relative trends.  相似文献

The gas phase ion-molecule reactions of silver cluster cations (Ag(n)(+)) and silver hydride cluster cations (Ag(m)H(+)) with 2-iodoethanol have been examined using multistage mass spectrometry experiments in a quadrupole ion trap mass spectrometer. These clusters exhibit size selective reactivity: Ag(2)H(+), Ag(3)(+), and Ag(4)H(+) undergo sequential ligand addition only, while Ag(5)(+) and Ag(6)H(+) also promote both C-I and C-OH bond activation of 2-iodoethanol. Collision induced dissociation (CID) of Ag(5)HIO(+), the product of C-I and C-OH bond activation by Ag(5)(+), yielded Ag(4)OH(+), Ag(4)I(+) and Ag(3)(+), consistent with a structure containing AgI and AgOH moieties. Ag(6)H(+) promotes both C-I and C-OH bond activation of 2-iodoethanol to yield the metathesis product Ag(6)I(+) as well as Ag(6)H(2)IO(+). The metathesis product Ag(6)I(+) also promotes C-I and C-OH bond activation.DFT calculations were carried out to gain insights into the reaction of Ag(5)(+) with ICH(2)CH(2)OH by calculating possible structures and their energies for the following species: (i) initial adducts of Ag(5)(+) and ICH(2)CH(2)OH, (ii) the subsequent Ag(5)HIO(+) product, (iii) CID products of Ag(5)HIO(+). Potential adducts were probed by allowing ICH(2)CH(2)OH to bind in different ways (monodentate through I, monodentate through OH, bidentate) at different sites for two isomers of Ag(5)(+): the global minimum "bowtie" structure, 1, and the higher energy trigonal bipyramidal isomer, 2. The following structural trends emerged: (i) ICH(2)CH(2)OH binds in a monodentate fashion to the silver core with little distortion, (ii) ICH(2)CH(2)OH binds to 1 in a bidentate fashion with some distortion to the silver core, and (iii) ICH(2)CH(2)OH binds to 2 and results in a significant distortion or rearrangement of the silver core. The DFT calculated minimum energy structure of Ag(5)HIO(+) consists of an OH ligated to the face of a distorted trigonal bipyramid with I located at a vertex, while those for both Ag(4)X(+) (X = OH, I) involve AgX bound to a Ag(3)(+) core. The calculations also predict the following: (i) the ion-molecule reaction of Ag(5)(+) and ICH(2)CH(2)OH to yield Ag(5)HIO(+) is exothermic by 34.3 kcal mol(-1), consistent with the fact that this reaction readily occurs under the near thermal experimental conditions, (ii) the lowest energy products for fragmentation of Ag(5)HIO(+) arise from loss of AgI, consistent with this being the major pathway in the CID experiments.  相似文献

An electrochemical assay for the detection of silver ion was reported, which was based on the interaction of the Y-type, C-rich ds-DNA with Ag(+). Upon addition of Ag(+), Y-type, C-rich ds-DNA could form an intramolecular duplex, in which Ag(+) can selectively bind to cytosine-cytosine (C-C) mismatches forming C-Ag(+)-C complex. The binding result was evaluated by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and analyzed with the help of Randles' equivalent circuits. The differences of charge transfer resistance, ΔR(CT), after and before the addition of Ag(+), allows the detection and quantitative analysis of Ag(+) with a detection limit of 10 fM. Moreover, cysteine (Cys) was applied to remove Ag(+) from the C-Ag(+)-C complex, which allowed the Ag(+) sensor to be reproduced. In the same way, ΔR(CT) for the C-Ag(+)-C system in the absence and presence of Cys allows the detection of Cys at a concentration as low as 100 fM. Finally, the potential application of the Ag(+) sensor was also explored, such as in lake and drinking water.  相似文献
