A separation theorem, valid in infinite dimensional spaces, and involving the relative interior of the sets to be separated, will be extended to Fréchet spaces. This theorem will be elucidated by means of a few examples. The second separation theorem is a generalization of an existing separation theorem, valid in Fréchet spaces. We prove a general implicit function theorem for multifunctions with a metric estimate on the implicit multifunction and a characterization of its coderivative. Traditional open covering theorems, stability results, and sufficient conditions for a multifunction to be metrically regular or pseudo-Lipschitzian can be deduced from this implicit function theorem. We prove this implicit multifunction theorem by reducing it to an implicit function/solvability theorem for functions. This approach can also be used to prove the Robinson–Ursescu open mapping theorem. As a tool for this alternative proof of the Robinson–Ursescu theorem, we also establish a refined version of the multidirectional mean value inequality which is of independent interest. 相似文献

In this paper, we prove a theorem of convergence to a point for descent minimization methods. When the objective function is differentiable, the convergence point is a stationary point. In this paper, we consider a generalized iterative process with errors to approximate the common fixed points of two asymptotically quasi-nonexpansive mappings. This article investigates the generators of certain homogeneous ideals which are associated with graphs with bounded independence
numbers. These ideals first appeared in the theory oft-designs. The main theorem suggests a new approach to the Clique Problem which isNP-complete. This theorem has a more general form in commutative algebra dealing with ideals associated with unions of linear
varieties. This general theorem is stated in the article; a corollary to it generalizes Turán’s theorem on the maximum graphs
with a prescribed clique number.

Recently Bapat applied a topological theorem of Kronecker and generalized a theorem of Sinkhorn on positive matrices. Here we give an alternative proof of a slightly stronger version of his generalization. In this paper, we introduce a multipermutation-based intersection theorem on the product space of several unit simplices, called the simplotope. This theorem gives a substantial generalization of an intersection result of Scarf on the unit simplex (Ref. 1). By using this new result, we also obtain a multipermutation-based generalization of the Brouwer fixed-point theorem on the simplotope. Furthermore, we apply this new result to an economic equilibrium model with indivisibilities and obtain an equilibrium existence theorem. 相似文献

In this paper, we obtain an existence theorem for fixed points of contractive set-valued mappings on a metric space endowed with a graph. This theorem unifies and extends several fixed point theorems for mappings on metric spaces and for mappings on metric spaces endowed with a graph. As an application, we obtain a theorem on the convergence of successive approximations for some linear operators on an arbitrary Banach space. This result yields the well-known Kelisky–Rivlin theorem on iterates of the Bernstein operators on C[0,1]. 相似文献

We establish the following theorems: (i) an existence theorem for weak type generalized saddle points; (ii) an existence theorem for strong type generalized saddle points; (iii) a generalized minimax theorem for a vector-valued function. These theorems are generalizations and extensions of the author's recent results. For such extensions, we propose new concepts of convexity and continuity of vector-valued functions, which are weaker than ordinary ones. Some of the proofs are based on a few key observations and also on the Browder coincidence theorem or the Tychonoff fixed-point theorem. Also, the minimax theorem follows from the existence theorem for weak type generalized saddle points. The main spaces with mathematical structures considered are real locally convex spaces and real ordered topological vector spaces.This paper is dedicated to Professor Kensuke Tanaka on his sixtieth birthday.This paper was written when the author was a visitor at the Department of Mathematical Science, Graduate School of Science and Technology, Niigata University, Niigata, Japan.
