The gas‐phase elimination kinetics of tetrahydropyranyl phenoxy ethers: 2‐phenoxytetrahydro‐2H‐pyran, 2‐(4‐methoxyphenoxy)tetrahydro‐2H‐pyran, and 2‐(4‐tert‐butylphenoxy)tetrahydro‐2H‐pyran were determined in a static system, with the vessels deactivated with allyl bromide, and in the presence of the free radical inhibitor toluene. The working temperature and pressure were 330 to 390°C and 25 to 89 Torr, respectively. The reactions yielded DHP and the corresponding 4‐substituted phenol. The eliminations are homogeneous, unimolecular, and satisfy a first‐order rate law. The Arrhenius equations for decompositions were found as follows:
  • 2‐phenoxytetrahydro‐2H‐pyran
  • log k1 (s?1) = (14.18 ± 0.21) ? (211.6 ± 0.4) kJ mol?1 (2.303 RT)?1
  • 2‐(4‐methoxyphenoxy)tetrahydro‐2H‐pyran
  • log k1 (s?1) = (14.11 ± 0.18) ? (203.6 ± 0.3) kJ mol?1 (2.303 RT)?1
  • 2‐(4‐tert‐butylphenoxy)tetrahydro‐2H‐pyran
  • log k1 (s?1) = (14.08 ± 0.08) ? (205.9 ± 1.0) kJ mol?1 (2.303 RT)?1
The analysis of kinetic and thermodynamic parameters for thermal elimination of 2‐(4‐substituted‐phenoxy)tetrahydro‐2H‐pyranes suggests that the reaction proceeds via 4‐member cyclic transition state. The results obtained confirm a slight increase of rate constant with increasing electron donating ability groups in the phenoxy ring. The pyran hydrogen abstraction by the oxygen of the phenoxy group appears to be the determinant factor in the reaction rate.  相似文献

In order to understand the nature of the interactions of biologically important ligands, it is necessary to carry out the physico‐chemical studies of these compounds with their biological targets (e.g., receptors in the cell or important cell components). Results of this study make it possible to predict some properties of a molecule, such as its reactivity, durability of complex compounds, and kinship to enzymes. In this paper the effect of alkali metal cations (Li, Na, K, Rb, and Cs) on the electronic structure of m‐methoxybenzoic acid (m‐anisic acid) was studied. The experimental IR (in solid state and solution), Raman, UV (in solid state and solution), 1H, and 13C NMR spectra of m‐methoxybenzoic acid, and its salts were registered, assigned, and analyzed. Some of the obtained results were compared with published data for o‐anisic acid and o‐anisates. The structures of anisic acid and Li, Na, and K m‐anisates were optimized at the B3LYP/6‐311++G** level. The IR, 1H, and 13C NMR spectra and NPA, ChelpG, and MK atomic charges were calculated. The change of metal along with the series: Li → Na → K → Rb → Cs caused: (1) the change in the electronic charge distribution in anisate anion that is seen via the occurrence of the systematic shifts of several bands in the experimental and theoretical IR and Raman spectra of anisates; (2) systematic 1H and 13C NMR chemical shifts; (3) hypsochromic shifts in UV spectra of salts as compared to ligands. syn‐2,2,4,4‐Tetramethyl‐3‐{2‐[3,4‐alkylenedioxy‐5‐(3‐pyridyl)]thienyl}pentan‐3‐ols self‐associate both in the solid state and in solution. Single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction study of the 3,4‐ethylenedioxythiophene (EDOT) derivative shows that it exists as a centrosymmetric head‐to‐tail, syn dimer in the solid state. The IR spectra of the solids display only a broad OH absorption around 3300 cm?1, corresponding to a hydrogen‐bonded species. 1H Nuclear Overhauser Effect Spectroscopy (NOESY) NMR experiments in benzene reveal interactions between the tert‐butyl groups and the H2 and H6 protons of the pyridyl group. Two approaches have been used to determine association constants of the EDOT derivative by NMR titration, based on the concentration dependence of (i) the syn/anti ratio and (ii) the OH proton shift of the syn rotamer. Reasonably concordant results are obtained from 298 to 323 K (3.6 and 3.9 M?1, respectively, at 298 K). Similar values are obtained from the syn OH proton shift variation for the 3,4‐methylenedioxythiophene (MDOT) derivative. Concentration‐dependent variation of the anti OH proton shift in the latter suggests that the anti isomer associates in the form of an open, singly hydrogen‐bonded dimer, with a much smaller association constant than the syn rotamer. Self‐association constants for 3‐pyridyl‐EDOT‐alkanols with smaller substituents vary by a factor of 4 from (i‐Pr)2 up to (CD3)2, while the hetero‐association constants for the same compounds with pyridine vary slightly less. Tris(2,2′‐bipyridine)ruthenium(II) complex‐based carbonic anhydrase (CA) inhibitors, [Ru(bpy)2(bpydbs)]2+ {bpy = 2,2′‐bipyridine and bpydbs = 2,2′‐bipyridinyl‐4,4′‐dicarboxilic acid bis[(2‐{2‐[2‐(4‐sulfamoylbenzoylamino)ethoxy]ethoxy}ethyl)amide]} and [Ru(bpydbs)3]2+, tethering plural benzenesulfonamide groups have been prepared. The CA catalytic activity was effectively suppressed by these synthetic [Ru(bpy)2(bpydbs)]2+ and [Ru(bpydbs)3]2+ inhibitors, and their dissociation constants at pH = 7.2 and at 25°C were determined to be KI = 0.93 ± 0.02 μM and KI = 0.24 ± 0.03 μM, respectively. Next, 2 photoinduced electron‐transfer (ET) systems comprising a Ru2+‐CA complex and an electron acceptor, such as chloropentaamminecobalt(III) ([CoCl(NH3)5]2+) or methylviologen (MV2+) were studied. In the presence of CA and a sacrificial electron acceptor, such as pentaamminechlorocobalt(III) complex, the photoexcited triplet state of 3([Ru(II)]2+)* was quenched through an intermolecular photoinduced ET mechanism. In case of the [Ru(bpydbs)3]2+‐CA‐MV2+ system, the photoexcited triplet state of 3([Ru(bpydbs)3]2+)* was quenched by sacrificial quencher through an intermolecular photoinduced ET mechanism, giving the oxidized [Ru(bpydbs)3]3+. Then the following intramolecular ET from the amino acid residue, Tyr6, near the active site of CA proceeded. We observed a transient absorption around at 410 nm, arising from the formation of a Tyr?+ in the [Ru(bpydbs)3]2+‐CA‐MV2+ system. These artificial Ru(II)‐CA systems may clearly demonstrate both intermolecular and intramolecular photoinduced ET reactions of protein and could be one of the interesting models of the ET proteins. Their photophysical properties and the detailed ET mechanisms are discussed in order to clarify the multistep ET reactions.  相似文献

The structures of 2‐substituted malonamides, YCH(CONR1R2)CONR3R4 (Y = Br, SO2Me, CONH2, COMe, and NO2) were investigated. When Y = Br, R1R2 = R3R4 = HEt; Y = SO2Me, R1–R4 = H and for Y = CONH2 or CONHPh, R1–R4 = Me, the structure in solution is that of the amide tautomer. X‐ray crystallography shows solid‐state amide structures for Y = SO2Me or CONH2, R1–R4 = H. Nitromalonamide displays an enol structure in the solid state with a strong hydrogen bond (OO distance = 2.3730 Å at 100 K) and d(OH) ≠ d(OH). An apparently symmetric enol was observed in solution, even in appreciable percentages in highly polar solvents such as DMSO‐d6, but Kenol values decrease on increasing the solvent polarity. The N,N′‐dimethyl derivative is less enolic. Acetylmalonamides display a mixture of enol on the acetyl group and amide in non‐polar solvents, and only the amide in DMSO‐d6. DFT calculations gave the following order of pKenol values for Y: H > CONH2 > COMe ≥ COMe (on acetyl) ≥ MeSO2 > CN > NO2 in the gas phase, CHCl3, and DMSO. The enol on the C?O group is preferred to the aci‐nitro compound, and the N? O? HO?C is less favored than the C?O? HO?C hydrogen bond. Copyright © 2009 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

We present a theoretical investigation about the excited state dynamical mechanism of 2‐(4′‐N,N‐dimethylaminophenyl)‐imidazo[4,5‐c]pyridine (DMAPIP‐c). Within the framework of density functional theory and time‐dependent density functional theory methods, we reasonably repeat the experimental electronic spectra, which further confirm the theoretical level used in this work is feasible. Given the best complex model, 3 methanol (MeOH) solvent molecules should be connected with DMAPIP‐c forming DMAPIP‐c‐MeOH complex in both ground state and excited state. Exploring the changes about bond lengths and bond angles involved in hydrogen bond wires, we find the O7‐H8···N9 one should be largely strengthened in the S1 state, which plays an important role in facilitating the excited state intermolecular proton transfer (ESIPT) process. In addition, the analyses about infrared vibrational spectra also confirm this conclusion. The redistribution about charges distinguished via frontier molecular orbitals based on the photoexcitation, we do find tendency of ESIPT reaction due to the most charges located around N9 atom in the lowest unoccupied molecular orbital. Based on constructing the potential energy curves of both S0 and S1 states, we not only confirm that the ESIPT process should firstly occur along with hydrogen bond wire O7‐H8···N9, but also find a low potential energy barrier 8.898 kcal/mol supports the ESIPT reaction in the S1 state forming DMAPIP‐c‐MeOH‐PT configuration. Subsequently, DMAPIP‐c‐MeOH‐PT could twist its dimethylamino moiety with a lower barrier 3.475 kcal/mol forming DMAPIP‐c‐MeOH‐PT‐TICT structure. Our work not only successfully explains previous experimental work but also paves the way for the further applications about DMAPIP‐c sensor in future.  相似文献

The first conformational analysis of 3‐silathiane and its C‐substituted derivatives, namely, 3,3‐dimethyl‐3‐silathiane 1 , 2,3,3‐trimethyl‐3‐silathiane 2 , and 2‐trimethylsilyl‐3,3‐dimethyl‐3‐silathiane 3 was performed by using dynamic NMR spectroscopy and B3LYP/6‐311G(d,p) quantum chemical calculations. From coalescence temperatures, ring inversion barriers ΔG for 1 and 2 were estimated to be 6.3 and 6.8 kcal/mol, respectively. These values are considerably lower than that of thiacyclohexane (9.4 kcal/mol) but slightly higher than the one of 1,1‐dimethylsilacyclohexane (5.5 kcal/mol). The conformational free energy for the methyl group in 2 (?ΔG° = 0.35 kcal/mol) derived from low‐temperature 13C NMR data is fairly consistent with the calculated value. For compound 2 , theoretical calculations give ΔE value close to zero for the equilibrium between the 2 ‐Meax and 2 ‐Meeq conformers. The calculated equatorial preference of the trimethylsilyl group in 3 is much more pronounced (?ΔG° = 1.8 kcal/mol) and the predominance of the 3 ‐SiMe3 eq conformer at room temperature was confirmed by the simulated 1H NMR and 2D NOESY spectra. The effect of the 2‐substituent on the structural parameters of 2 and 3 is discussed. Copyright © 2010 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Replacement of α‐methylenes with BH, AlH, CMe2, SiH2, NH, NMe, NtButyl, NPh, PH, O, and S in non‐planar cyclonona‐3,5,7‐trienylidene (CH2) alters its status from an unstable transition state to rather stable minima, at B3LYP/6‐311++G**//B3LYP/6‐31 + G* levels of theory. All species appear with singlet closed shell (Scs) global minima, except for SiH2 and CH2 which exhibit triplet electronic ground states. The order of stability based on singlet–triplet energy gap (ΔEs–t / kcalmol?1) is: CMe2 (45.8) > NH (35.8) > NMe (32.3) > O (31.5) > NtButyl (27.7) ≥ NPh (27.5) ≥ BH (27.4) > S (21.9) > PH (17.0) > CH2 (?4.4) > SiH2 (?12.5). In contrast to many reports on N‐heterocyclic carbenes, here alkyl groups appear to exert a higher stabilizing effect than heteroatoms, making CMe2 the most stable. In addition bulky NMe, NtButyl, and NPh appear more nucleophilic than their synthesized imidazol‐2‐ylidene congeners. Excluding SiH2, isodesmic reactions reveal that all substituents stabilize singlet state considerably more than the corresponding triplet. Finally, this work is hoped to pave the path for future matrix isolations and IR studies of these rather stable cyclic non‐planar carbenes. Copyright © 2013 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

In this work, we mainly focus on the excited‐state intramolecular proton transfer mechanism of a new molecule 9,10‐dihydroxybenzo[h]quinoline (9‐10‐HBQ). Within the framework of density functional theory and time‐dependent density functional theory methods, we have theoretically investigated its excited‐state dynamical process and our theoretical results successfully reappeared previous experimental electronic spectra. The ultrafast excited‐state intramolecular proton transfer process occurs in the first excited state (S1 state) forming 9‐10‐HBQ‐PT1 structure without potential energy barrier along with hydrogen bond (O3–H4···N5). Then the second proton may transfer via another intramolecular hydrogen bonded wire (O1–H2···N3) with a moderate potential energy barrier (about 7.69 kcal/mol) in the S1 state forming 9‐10‐HBQ‐PT2 configuration. After completing excited‐state dynamical process, the molecule on the first excited electronic state would come back to the ground state. We not only clarify the excited‐state dynamical process for 9‐10‐HBQ but also put forward new predictions and successfully explain previous experimental results.  相似文献

The effect of halogen‐substituent on hydrogen abstraction mechanisms was studied by applying density functional theory functional calculations to the gas‐phase reactions between CHCl?? and CH4 ? nXn (X = H, F, Cl; n = 0–3), and it is found that a heavier X substituent in the substrate results in a greater stabilization of corresponding complex, a lower activation energy, a faster H‐abstraction reaction, and greater exothermicity. However, CH4– reaction is more reactive than CH3F– reaction under the same condition because of dominant π‐donation from the electronegative F atom. We also explored the reactivity difference for the seven reactions in terms of factors derived from bond order, second‐order perturbative energy, and activation strain model analysis. The rate constants are evaluated over a wide temperature range of 298–1000 K by the conventional transition state theory. Copyright © 2014 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

4‐Alkyl‐2,2,6,6‐tetramethyl‐1,4,2,6‐oxaazadisilinanes RN[CH2Si(Me)2]2O [R = Me ( 1 ), i‐Pr ( 2 )] were synthesized by two methods which provided good yields up to 84%. Low temperature NMR study of compounds ( 1 ) and ( 2 ) revealed a frozen ring inversion with the energy barriers of 8.5 and 7.7 kcal/mol at 163 and 143 K, respectively, which is substantially lower than that for their carbon analog, N‐methylmorpholine. DFT calculations performed on the example of molecule ( 1 ) showed that N? Meax conformer to exist in the sofa conformation with the coplanar fragment C? Si? O? Si? C, and its N? Meeq conformer in a flattened chair conformation. Copyright © 2009 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The time‐dependent density functional theory (TDDFT) method has been performed to investigate the excited state and hydrogen bonding dynamics of a series of photoinduced hydrogen‐bonded complexes formed by (E)‐S‐(2‐aminopropyl) 3‐(4‐hydroxyphenyl)prop‐2‐enethioate with water molecules in vacuum. The ground state geometric optimizations and electronic transition energies as well as corresponding oscillator strengths of the low‐lying electronic excited states of the (E)‐S‐(2‐aminopropyl) 3‐(4‐hydroxyphenyl)prop‐2‐enethioate monomer and its hydrogen‐bonded complexes O1‐H2O, O2‐H2O, and O1O2‐(H2O)2 were calculated by the density functional theory and TDDFT methods, respectively. It is found that in the excited states S1 and S2, the intermolecular hydrogen bond formed with carbonyl oxygen is strengthened and induces an excitation energy redshift, whereas the hydrogen bond formed with phenolate oxygen is weakened and results in an excitation energy blueshift. This can be confirmed based on the excited state geometric optimizations by the TDDFT method. Furthermore, the frontier molecular orbital analysis reveals that the states with the maximum oscillator strength are mainly contributed by the orbital transition from the highest occupied molecular orbital to the lowest unoccupied molecular orbital. These states are of locally excited character, and they correspond to single‐bond isomerization while the double bond remains unchanged in vacuum.  相似文献

In the present work, we theoretical study the sensing mechanism of a new fluoride chemosensor (E)‐2‐(2‐(dimethylamino)ethyl)‐6‐(4‐hydroxystyryl)‐1H‐benzo[de]‐isoquinoline‐1,3(2H)‐dione (the abbreviation is NIM ). Based on density functional theory and time‐dependent density functional theory methods, the fluoride anion response mechanism has been confirmed via constructing potential energy curve. The exothermal deprotonation process along with the intermolecular hydrogen bond O–H···F reveals the uniqueness of detecting F?. After capturing hydrogen proton forming NIM‐A anion configuration, a new absorption peak around 655 nm appears in dimethyl sulfoxide solvent. In addition, the emission of NIM can be quenched when adding F? has been also confirmed. Due to the twisted intramolecular charge transfer character NIM‐A‐S 1 form, we further verify the experimental phenomenon. The theoretical electronic spectra (vertical excitation energies and fluorescence peak) reproduced previous experimental results (ACS Appl. Mater. Interfaces 2014, 6, 7996), which not only reveals the rationality of our theoretical level used in this work but also confirms the correctness of geometrical attribution. In view of the excitation process, the strong intramolecular charge transfer process of S0 → S1 transition explain the redshift of absorption peak for NIM with the addition of fluoride anion. This work presents a straightforward sensing mechanism (deprotonation process) of fluoride anion for the novel NIM chemosensor.  相似文献

The behaviour of Schiff bases of 3‐hydroxy‐4‐pyridincarboxaldehyde and 4‐R‐anilines (R?H, CH3, OCH3, Br, Cl, NO2) in acid media has been described. 1H, 13C, 15N‐NMR chemical shifts allow to establish the protonation site and its influence on the hydroxyimino/oxoenamino tautomerism. DFT calculations, electronic spectra and X‐ray diffraction are in agreement with the NMR conclusions. Copyright © 2007 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Fourteen ketone/thione‐stabilized triphenylphosphonium methylides were subjected to conventional gas‐phase and flash vacuum pyrolysis (FVP). The kinetics of the first‐order thermal gas‐phase reactions of all these compounds were investigated over 360–653 K temperature range. The values of the Arrhenius log A and energy of activation of these ylides averaged 11.52 ± 0.34 s?1 and 133.20 ± 3.14 kJ mol?1, respectively. The products of sealed‐tube (static) and FVP were analyzed and compared. A mechanism is proposed to account for the products of reaction. The rate constants [k (s?1)] of the substrates at 500 K were calculated and used to substantiate the proposed mechanism of pyrolysis, and to rationalize the thermal gas‐phase reactivities of the ylides under study. A series of substituted chlorinated chalcones namely, 3‐(2,4‐dichlorophenyl)‐1‐(4′‐X‐phenyl)‐2‐propen‐1‐one, have been synthesized, X being H, NH2, OMe, Me, F, Cl, CO2Et, CN, and NO2. Dual substituent parameter (DSP) models of 13C NMR chemical shift (CS) have revealed that π‐polarization concept could be utilized to explain the reverse field effect at CO, the enhanced substituent field effect at CO, C‐2, and C‐5, and the decreased sensitivity of substituent field effect at C‐6. Chlorine atoms dipole direction at the benzylidene ring either enhances or reduces substituent effect depending on how they couple with the substituent dipole at the probe site. The correlation of 13C NMR CS of C‐2, C‐5, and C‐6 with σ and σ indicates that chlorine atoms in the benzylidine ring deplete the ring from charges. Both MSP of Hammett and DSP of Taft 13C NMR CS models give similar trends of substituent effects at C‐2, C‐5, and C‐6. However, the former fail to give a significant correlation for CO and C‐6 13C NMR CS. MSP of σq and DSP of Taft and Reynolds models significantly correlated 13C NMR CS of Cβ. MSP of σq fails to correlate C‐1′ 13C NMR CS. Investigation of 13C NMR CS of non‐chlorinated chalcones series: 3‐phenyl‐1‐(4′‐X‐phenyl)‐2‐propen‐1‐one has revealed similar trends of substituent effects as in the chlorinated chalcones series for C‐1′, CO, Cα, and Cβ. In contrast, the substituent effect of the non‐chlorinated chalcone series at C‐2, C‐5, and C‐6 did not correlate with any substituent constant. Copyright © 2010 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Reaction mechanism of 2‐methoxyphenol (2MP) (guaiacol) with OH radical has been performed using density functional theory methods BH&HLYP and MPW1K method with 6‐311++G(d,p) basis set. Single‐point energy calculations were done using CCSD(T)/6‐311++G(d,p). The theoretical results reveal that the hydrogen abstraction from methoxy group is found to be the dominant reaction channel with an energy barrier of 9.31 kcal/mol. Also, time‐dependent density functional theory calculations have been performed using BH&HLYP/6‐311++G(d,p) level of theory, and the results reveal that the reactions occur in ground state than the excited state. The results of reaction force profile indicate that structural rearrangements are most influential with high percentage than the relaxation process. The calculated theoretical rate constants (12.19 × 10?11 cm3 molecule?1 s?1) are in good agreement with the experimental rate constant. The atmospheric lifetime of 2‐methoxyphenol with respect to OH radicals is 2.27 hours, which implies that OH radical plays an important role in the degradation of 2MP. The Wiberg bond index of the abstraction reaction reveals that the bond order is concerted, partially synchronic. The reactant‐like transition state satisfies Hammond postulate, which eventually results in an exothermic reaction, and the product‐like transition state reveals in endothermic nature.  相似文献

Theoretical calculation of the kinetics and mechanisms of gas‐phase elimination of 2‐hydroxyphenethyl chloride and 2‐methoxyphenethyl chloride has been carried out at the MP2/6‐31G(d,p), B3LYP/6‐31G(d,p), B3LYP/6‐31 + G(d,p), B3PW91/6‐31G(d,p) and CCSD(T) levels of the theory. The two substrates undergo parallel elimination reactions. The first process of elimination appears to proceed through a three‐membered cyclic transition state by the anchimeric assistance of the aromatic ring to produce the corresponding styrene product and HCl. The second process of elimination occurs through a five‐membered cyclic transition state by participation of the oxygen of o‐OH or the o‐OCH3 to yield in both cases benzohydrofuran. The B3PW91/6‐31G(d,p) method was found to be in good agreement with the experimental kinetic and thermodynamic parameters for both substrates in the two reaction channels. However, some differences in the performance of the different methods are observed. NBO analysis of the pyrolysis of both phenethyl chlorides implies a C? Cl bond polarization, in the sense of Cδ+…Clδ?, which is a rate‐determining step for both parallel reactions. Synchronicity parameters imply polar transition states of these elimination reactions. We have reported oligo(p‐phenylene)s (OPPs) with an OH group located at one end, namely, OPP(n)‐OHs (where n is the number of benzene rings). The OPPs exhibited significant solvatochromism; the deprotonation of the OH groups of OPP(n)‐OHs , when treated with NaH, caused a bathochromic shift of absorption maxima (λmax) that increased with the donor numbers (DNs) of the solvents. We assumed that the solvatochromism exhibited by OPP(n)‐ONa was attributed to an intramolecular charge shift from the sodium phenoxy group(s) to the adjacent rings. In this study, to investigate the assumption, hydroxyoligophenylenes ( R‐OPP(n)‐OH ) with an electron‐donating dimethylamino group (n = 3, R = NMe2), an electron‐accepting nitro group (n = 3, R = NO2), and a π‐deficient pyridine ring (n = 2, R = Py) were synthesized by the Suzuki coupling reaction. The deprotonation of the OH group of by treatment with NaH caused a bathochromic shift (Δλ) of λmax of R‐OPP(m)‐ONa . The Δλ of the deprotonated species increased with the DNs of the solvents. The emission peak positions of R‐OPP(m)‐ONa depended on the DNs of the solvents; therefore, the emission color could be tuned by changing the solvent. R‐OPP(m)‐OH received an electrochemical oxidation of the OH group and OPP unit. The data related to the remarkable solvatochromic behavior of R‐OPP(n)‐ONa will be useful information for the development of new luminescent materials.  相似文献

The gas‐phase elimination kinetics of the title compounds were carried out in a static reaction system and seasoned with allyl bromide. The working temperature and pressure ranges were 200–280 °C and 22–201.5 Torr, respectively. The reactions are homogeneous, unimolecular, and follow a first‐order rate law. These substrates produce isobutene and corresponding carbamic acid in the rate‐determining step. The unstable carbamic acid intermediate rapidly decarboxylates through a four‐membered cyclic transition state (TS) to give the corresponding organic nitrogen compound. The temperature dependence of the rate coefficients is expressed by the following Arrhenius equations: for tert‐butyl carbamate logk1 (s?1) = (13.02 ± 0.46) – (161.6 ± 4.7) kJ/mol(2.303 RT)?1, for tert‐butyl N‐hydroxycarbamate logk1 (s?1) = (12.52 ± 0.11) – (147.8 ± 1.1) kJ/mol(2.303 RT)?1, and for 1‐(tert‐butoxycarbonyl)‐imidazole logk1 (s?1) = (11.63 ± 0.21)–(134.9 ± 2.0) kJ/mol(2.303 RT)?1. Theoretical studies of these elimination were performed at Møller–Plesset MP2/6‐31G and DFT B3LYP/6‐31G(d), B3LYP/6‐31G(d,p) levels of theory. The calculated bond orders, NBO charges, and synchronicity (Sy) indicate that these reactions are concerted, slightly asynchronous, and proceed through a six‐membered cyclic TS type. Results for estimated kinetic and thermodynamic parameters are discussed in terms of the proposed reaction mechanism and TS structure. Copyright © 2007 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献
