Lp-Lq estimates for a class of pseudo-differential equations and their applications

This paper is concerned with the L ^p -L ^q estimates of the solutions for a class of pseudodifferential equations under some suitable degenerate assumptions. As applications, these estimates can be used to show that a generalized Schr?dinger operator with some integrable potential generates a fractionally integrated group in L ^p (ℝ ⁿ ).

Lp Estimates of certain rough parametric Marcinkiewicz functions

We prove L^p estimates of a class of parametric Marcinkiewicz integral operators when their kernels satisfy only the L^{\mathrm{1}}(S^{n-\mathrm{1}}) integrability condition. The obtained L^p estimates resolve a problem left open in previous work. Our argument is based on duality technique and direct estimation of operators. As a consequence of our result, we deduce the L^p boundedness of a class of fractional Marcinkiewicz integral operators.     

Lp (?m × ?n) boundedness for the Marcinkiewicz integral on product spaces

L^p(R^m × Rⁿ) boundedness is considered for the multiple Marcinkiewicz integral. Some size conditions implying the L^p(R^m × Rⁿ) boundedness of the multiple Marcinkiewicz integral for some fixed 1 > p > ∞ are obtained.     

Quantitative property A, Poincaré inequalities, Lp-compression and Lp-distortion for metric measure spaces

We introduce a quantitative version of Property A in order to estimate the L ^p -compressions of a metric measure space X. We obtain various estimates for spaces with sub-exponential volume growth. This quantitative property A also appears to be useful to yield upper bounds on the L ^p -distortion of finite metric spaces. Namely, we obtain new optimal results for finite subsets of homogeneous Riemannian manifolds. We also introduce a general form of Poincaré inequalities that provide constraints on compressions, and lower bounds on distortion. These inequalities are used to prove the optimality of some of our results.      

Two-weight estimates for singular and strongly singular integral operators

We give a Pontryagin-Thom type construction for Stein factorizations of fold maps of 3-manifolds into the plane. As an application, we compute the cobordism group of Stein factorizations of fold maps of oriented 3-manifolds into the plane and the oriented cobordism group of fold maps of 3-manifolds into the plane. It turns out that these two groups are isomorphic to Z ₂ ⊕ Z ₂. We have the analogous results about bordism groups as well.      

Local Lp-saturation of positive linear convolution operators

The approximation of unbounded functions by positive linear operators under multiplier enlargement is investigated. It is shown that a very wide class of positive linear operators can be used to approximate functions with arbitrary growth on the real line. Estimates are given in terms of the usual quantities which appear in the Shisha-Mond theorem. Examples are provided.     

The Stokes operator in weighted Lq-spaces II: weighted resolvent estimates and maximal Lp-regularity

In this paper we establish a general weighted L ^q -theory of the Stokes operator in the whole space, the half space and a bounded domain for general Muckenhoupt weights . We show weighted L ^q -estimates for the Stokes resolvent system in bounded domains for general Muckenhoupt weights. These weighted resolvent estimates imply not only that the Stokes operator generates a bounded analytic semigroup but even yield the maximal L ^p -regularity of in the respective weighted L ^q -spaces for arbitrary Muckenhoupt weights . This conclusion is archived by combining a recent characterisation of maximal L ^p -regularity by -bounded families due to Weis [Operator-valued Fourier multiplier theorems and maximal L _p -regularity. Preprint (1999)] with the fact that for L ^q -spaces -boundedness is implied by weighted estimates.     

Degree of Lp-approximation by certain positive convolution operators

The degree of L_p-approximation for a class of positive convolution operators is investigated. Recent results of De Vore, Bojanic, and Shisha for the uniform approximation by these operators and the K-functional of Peetre are employed to obtain the degree of approximation in terms of the integral modulus of smoothness.     

Optimal Lp-Lq-estimates for parabolic boundary value problems with inhomogeneous data

In this paper we investigate vector-valued parabolic initial boundary value problems , subject to general boundary conditions in domains G in with compact C ^2m -boundary. The top-order coefficients of are assumed to be continuous. We characterize optimal L ^p -L ^q -regularity for the solution of such problems in terms of the data. We also prove that the normal ellipticity condition on and the Lopatinskii–Shapiro condition on are necessary for these L ^p -L ^q -estimates. As a byproduct of the techniques being introduced we obtain new trace and extension results for Sobolev spaces of mixed order and a characterization of Triebel-Lizorkin spaces by boundary data.      

L p − Lq estimates for convolution operators with n-Dimensional singular measures

Lp-decay rates to nonlinear diffusion waves for p-system with nonlinear damping

In this paper, we study the L ^p (2 ⩽ p ⩽ +∞) convergence rates of the solutions to the Cauchy problem of the so-called p-system with nonlinear damping. Precisely, we show that the corresponding Cauchy problem admits a unique global solution (v(x,t), u(x,t)) and such a solution tends time-asymptotically to the corresponding nonlinear diffusion wave (ῡ(x,t), ū(x,t)) governed by the classical Darcys’s law provided that the corresponding prescribed initial error function (w ₀(x), z ₀(x)) lies in (H ³ × H ²) (ℝ) and |v ₊ − v ₋| + ∥w ₀∥₃ + ∥z ₀∥₂ is sufficiently small. Furthermore, the L ^p (2 ⩽ p ⩽ +∞) convergence rates of the solutions are also obtained.
