Synthesis, 11B NMR, Vibrational Spectra, and Crystal Structure of (PPh4)[1-(NO)B10H9] By reaction of (n-Bu4N)2[B10H10] in aqueous acetonitrile with NO2 a reaction mixture is formed from which [1-(NO)B10H9] has been isolated by ion exchange chromatography on diethylaminoethyl(DEAE) cellulose. The X-ray structure determination of (PPh4)[1-(NO)B10H9] (triclinic, space group P1, a = 7.6553(11), b = 13.179(2), c = 14.122(3) Å, α = 69.853(13), β = 82.445(14), γ = 87.230(13)°, Z = 2) reveals the coordination of the NO group via N in an apical position of the B10 cluster with B1–N = 1.457(5) and N–O = 1.101(4) Å. The 11B NMR spectrum exhibits the characteristic feature (1 : 1 : 4 : 4) of a in 1 position substituted B10 cluster with a strong downfield shift of the ipso-B atom at +6.5 ppm. The IR and Raman spectra show a strong NO stretching vibration at 2219 cm–1.  相似文献

Two novel poly(amine‐hydrazide)s were prepared from the polycondensation reactions of the dicarboxylic acid, 9‐[N,N‐di(4‐carboxyphenyl)amino]anthracene ( 1 ), with terephthalic dihydrazide ( TPH ) and isophthalic dihydrazide ( IPH ) via the Yamazaki phosphorylation reaction, respectively. The poly(amine‐hydrazide)s were readily soluble in many common organic solvents and could be solution cast into transparent films. Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) indicated that these hydrazide polymers had glass‐transition temperatures (Tg) in the range of 182–230 °C and could be thermally cyclodehydrated into the corresponding oxadiazole polymers in the range of 300–400 °C. The resulting poly(amine‐1,3,4‐oxadiazole)s had useful levels of thermal stability associated with high Tg (263–318 °C), 10% weight‐loss temperatures in excess of 500 °C, and char yield at 800 °C in nitrogen higher than 55%. These organo‐soluble anthrylamine‐based poly(amine‐hydrazide)s and poly (amine‐1,3,4‐oxadiazole)s exhibited maximum UV‐vis absorption at 346–349 and 379–388 nm in N‐methyl‐2‐pyrrolidone (NMP) solution, respectively. Their photoluminescence spectra in NMP solution showed maximum bands around 490–497 nm in the green region. The poly(amine‐hydrazide) I ‐ IPH showed a green photoluminescence at 490 nm with PL quantum yield of 29.9% and 17.0% in NMP solution and film state, respectively. The anthrylamine‐based poly(amine‐1,3,4‐oxadiazole)s revealed a electrochromic characteristics with changing color from the pale yellow neutral form to the red reduced form when scanning potentials negatively from 0.00 to ?2.20 V. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A series of poly(aryl ether)s were successfully prepared via aromatic nucleophilic substitution reaction from various bisphenols and a novel bipolar aryl difluoride monomer containing electron‐donor triphenylamine and electron‐acceptor 1,2,4‐triazole moieties. The poly(aryl ether)s exhibited excellent solubility in organic solvents such as dimethylformamide, chloroform, and tetrahydrofuran at room temperature. The poly(aryl ether)s showed high thermal stability with Td10 higher than 500 °C and glass transition temperatures (Tg) higher than 187 °C. The thin films of the poly(aryl ether)s indicated bistable resistive switching behavior with ON/OFF current ratios as high as 103. The switching on and switching off bias voltages of the poly(aryl ether)s were affected by the bisphenol moiety. The good resistive switching behavior of the poly(aryl ether)s made them promising candidates for future nonvolatile memory applications. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A series of new high molecular weight poly(arylene ether)s containing the 1,2-dihydro-4-phenyl(2H)phthalazinone moiety have been synthesized. The inherent viscosities of these polymers are in the range of 0.33–0.64 dL/g. They are amorphous and readily soluble in chloroform, DMF, and DMAc. The glass transition temperatures of the polymers range from 241 to 320°C and the 5% weight loss temperatures in nitrogen atmosphere range from 473 to 517°C. The hydroxy group in the monomer 1,2-dihydro-4-(4-hydroxyphenyl)(2H)phthalazin-1-one has been selectively transformed into the N,N′-dimethylthiocarbamate group, which was then rearranged to give the S-(N,N′-dimethylcarbamate) group via the Newman–Kwart rearrangement reaction. A series of poly(arylene thioether)s containing the 1,2-dihydro-4-phenyl(2H)phthalazinone moiety have also been synthesized via two types of reactions, a N C coupling reaction and a one-pot reaction between the S-(N,N′-dimethylcarbamate) and activated dihalo compounds, in diphenyl sulfone in the presence of a cesium carbonate and calcium carbonate mixture. These poly(arylene thioether)s also have high glass transition temperatures (ranging from 217–303°C) and high thermal stabilities. Compared with their poly(ether) analogs, the poly(arylene thioether)s have glass transition temperatures several degrees lower, which is attributed to the more flexible C S C bonds. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Copoly(4,4′-oxanilideterephthalamide—4,4′-phenyleneterephthalamide) (A-202/PPD) was synthesized by reaction of 4,4′-diaminooxanilide, p-phenylenediamine, and terephthaloyl chloride in organic solvents. Copolymer inherent viscosities in H2SO4 as high as 10.3 were obtained. Isotropic copolymer solutions (4%—5% concentration) of A-202/40%–80% PPD were spun to fibers with tenacity/elongation/modulus at 1% extension in the 13–14 gpd/1.5%–2%/700–1000 gpd range. Oxamide and amide stabilities in 98–100% H2SO4 and 20% oleum were compared. Poly(4,4′-oxanilideterephthalamide) (A-202), A-202/PPD copolymers, and poly(4,4′-phenyleneterephthalamide) (PPT) were unstable in 20% oleum, but all proved relatively stable in 100% H2SO4. However, the oxamide linkage proved less stable than the amide linkage in 98% H2SO4. A-202 and A-202/PPD copolymers formed stable anisotropic spinning solutions in 1% oleum at 10–20% concentrations. Dynamic mechanical analyses (Vibron) showed no glass transition temperature (Tg) below 200°C. Dilatometric measurement of A-202/50% PPD revealed a Tg at 257°C. Differential thermal analyses of A-202/40–80% PPD exhibited endotherms at 470–480°C. Thermogravimetric analyses showed no significant weight loss below 400°C.  相似文献

Benzoxazine monomer (Ba) was blended with soluble poly(imide‐siloxane)s in various weight ratios. The soluble poly(imide‐siloxane)s with and without pendent phenolic groups were prepared from the reaction of 2,2′‐bis(3,4‐dicarboxylphenyl)hexafluoropropane dianhydride with α,ω‐bis(aminopropyl)dimethylsiloxane oligomer (PDMS; molecular weight = 5000) and 3,3′‐dihydroxybenzidine (with OH group) or 4,4′‐diaminodiphenyl ether (without OH group). The onset and maximum of the exotherm due to the ring‐opening polymerization for the pristine Ba appeared on differential scanning calorimetry curves around 200 and 240 °C, respectively. In the presence of poly(imide‐siloxane)s, the exothermic temperatures were lowered: the onset to 130–140 °C and the maximum to 210–220 °C. The exotherm due to the benzoxazine polymerization disappeared after curing at 240 °C for 1 h. Viscoelastic measurements of the cured blends containing poly(imide‐siloxane) with OH functionality showed two glass‐transition temperatures (Tg's), at a low temperature around ?55 °C and at a high temperature around 250–300 °C, displaying phase separation between PDMS and the combined phase consisting of polyimide and polybenzoxazine (PBa) components due to the formation of AB‐crosslinked polymer. For the blends containing poly(imide‐siloxane) without OH functionalities, however, in addition to the Tg due to PDMS, two Tg's were observed in high‐temperature ranges, 230–260 and 300–350 °C, indicating further phase separation between the polyimide and PBa components due to the formation of semi‐interpenetrating networks. In both cases, Tg increased with increasing poly(imide‐siloxane) content. Tensile measurements showed that the toughness of PBa was enhanced by the addition of poly(imide‐siloxane). Thermogravimetric analysis showed that the thermal stability of PBa also was enhanced by the addition of poly(imide‐siloxane). © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. A novel method was developed to prepare poly(benzoxazinone‐imide) by the dealcoholization of poly(amide‐imide), having pendent ethoxycarbonyl groups, which was prepared from poly(amide acid). The poly(amide acid) was prepared from the reaction of pyromellitic dianhydride and 4,4′‐diamino‐6‐ethoxycarbonyl benzanilide. The curing behavior of the poly(amide acid) was monitored by DSC, which indicated the presence of two broad endotherms, one with maximum at 153 °C due to imide‐ring formation and the other with maximum at 359 °C due to benzoxazinone‐ring formation. The poly(amide acid) was thermally treated at 300 °C/1 h to get poly(amide‐imide) with pendent ester groups, then at 350 °C/2 h to convert into poly(benzoxazinone‐imide) by dealcoholization. Viscoelastic measurements of the poly(amide‐imide) showed that the storage modulus dropped at about 280 °C with glass‐transition temperature (Tg ) at about 340 °C. The storage modulus of poly(benzoxazinone‐imide), however, was almost constant up to 400 °C and no Tg was detected below 400 °C. Also, the tensile modulus and tensile strength of the poly(benzoxazinone‐imide) was much higher than that of the poly(amide‐imide). The 5% decomposition of poly(benzoxazinone‐imide) film was at 535 °C, which reflects its excellent thermal stability. Also, poly(benzoxazinone‐imide) showed more hydrolytic stability against alkali in comparison to polyimides. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. J Polym Sci A: Polym Chem 38: 1647–1655, 2000  相似文献

A novel spirobichroman unit containing dietheramine, 6,6′-bis(4-aminophenoxy)-4,4,4′,4′,7,7′-hexamethyl-2,2′-spirobichroman ( 3 ), was prepared by the nucleophilic substitution of 6,6′-dihydroxy-4,4,4′,4′,7,7′-hexamethyl-2,2′-spirobichroman with p-chloronitrobenzene in the presence of K2CO3 followed by hydrazine catalytic reduction of the intermediate dinitro compound. A series of polyimides were synthesized from diamine 3 and various aromatic dianhydrides by a conventional two-stage procedure through the formation of poly(amic-acid)s followed by thermal imidization. The intermediate poly(amic-acid)s had inherent viscosities of 1.00–2.78 dL/g. All the poly-(amic-acid)s could be thermally cyclodehydrated into flexible and tough polyimide films, and some polyimides were soluble in polar solvents such as N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP), N,N-dimethylacetamide (DMAc), and N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF). These polyimides had glass transition temperatures (Tg) in the range of 236–256°C, and 10% weight loss occurred up to 450°C. Furthermore, a series of polyamides and poly(amide-imide)s with inherent viscosities of 0.71–2.29 dL/g were prepared by direct polycondensation of the diamine 3 with various aromatic dicarboxylic acids and imide ring-containing dicarboxylic acids by means of triphenyl phosphite and pyridine. All the polyamides and poly(amide-imide)s were readily soluble in polar solvents such as DMAc, and tough and flexible films could be cast from their DMAc solutions. These polymers had glass transition temperatures in the range of 137–228°C and 10% weight loss temperatures in the range of 419–443°C in air and 404–436°C in nitrogen, respectively. © 1997 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Blue single crystals of Cu[μ2‐OOC(CH2)PO3H] · 2H2O ( 1 ) and Cu1.53‐OOC(CH2)PO3] · 5H2O ( 2 ) were prepared in aqueous solution. In compound 1 [space group C2/c (no. 15) with a = 1623.3(2), b = 624.0(1), c = 1495.5(2) pm, β = 122.45(1)°], Cu is coordinated by three oxygen atoms stemming from the hydrogenphosphonoacetate dianion and three water molecules to form a distorted octahedron. The Cu–O bonds range from 190.4(3) to 278.5(3) pm. The connection between the Cu2+ cations and the hydrogenphosphonoacetate dianions leads to a two‐dimensional structure with layers parallel to (101). The layers are linked by hydrogen bonds. In compound 2 [space group P1 (no. 2) with a = 608.2(1), b = 800.1(1), c = 1083.6(1) pm, α = 94.98(1)°, β = 105.71(1)°, γ = 109.84(1)°], two crystallographically independent Cu2+ cations are coordinated in a square pyramidal and an octahedral fashion, respectively. The Cu–O bonds range from 192.9(2) to 237.2(2) pm. The coordination of the phosphonoacetate trianion to Cu(1) results in infinite polyanionic chains parallel to [100] with a composition of {Cu(H2O)[OOC(CH2)PO3]}nn. Hydrated Cu(2) cations are accommodated between the chains as counterions. 1 and 2 show structural features of cation exchangers. Magnetic measurements reveal a paramagnetic Curie‐Weiss behavior. Compound 2 shows antiferromagnetic coupling between Cu2+ ions due to a super‐superexchange coupling. The UV/Vis spectra of 1 suggest three d–d transition bands at 763 nm (2B12E), 878 nm (2B12B2), and 1061 nm (2B12A1). Thermoanalytical investigations in air show that compound 1 is stable up to 165 °C, whereas decomposition of 2 begins at 63 °C.  相似文献

The reaction of Nd(BH4)3 · 3THF with decaborane-14 in diglyme at 85–90°C yields Nd(B11H14)3 · 4Dg. The duration of the reaction is 20 h. The molar ratio of Nd(BH4)3 · 3THF to B10H14 is is 1 :3.5. The product is precipitated with heptane from a diglyme solution. The yield is 70%. In an inert atmosphere, Nd(B11H14)3 · 4Dg is stable to 150°C and decomposes with an exotherm at 160–190°C. The IR spectrum of Nd(B11H14)3 · 4Dg in the region of B-H stretching vibrations contains an intense band at 2530 cm?1. The 11B {1H} NMR spectra of the synthesized compound in diglyme solutions contain signals of the tetradecahydro-nido-undecaborate anion B11H 14 ? (δ = -14.0, -15.6, and -16.5 ppm).  相似文献

Living cationic polymerization of alkoxyethyl vinyl ether [CH2?CHOCH2CH2OR; R: CH3 (MOVE), C2H5 (EOVE)] and related vinyl ethers with oxyethylene units in the pendant was achieved by 1-(isobutoxy)ethyl acetate ( 1 )/Et1.5AlCl1.5 initiating system in the presence of an added base (ethyl acetate or THF) in toluene at 0°C. The polymers had a very narrow molecular weight distribution (M?w/M?n = 1.1–1.2) and the M?n proportionally increased with the progress of the polymerization reaction. On the other hand, the polymerization by 1 /EtAlCl2 initiating system in the presence of ethyl acetate, which produces living polymer of isobutyl vinyl ether, yielded the nonliving polymer. When an aqueous solution of the polymers thus obtained was heated, the phase separation phenomenon was clearly observed in each polymer at a definite critical temperature (Tps). For example, Tps was 70°C for poly(MOVE), and 20°C for poly(EOVE) (1 wt % aqueous solution, M?n ~ 2 × 104). The phase separation for each case was quite sensitive (ΔTps = 0.3–0.5°C) and reversible on heating and cooling. The Tps or ΔTps was clearly dependent not only on the structure of polymer side chains (oxyethylene chain length and ω-alkyl group), but also on the molecular weight (M?n = 5 × 103-7 × 104) and its distribution. © 1992 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

Two new phenyl‐ and naphthyl‐substituted rigid‐rod aromatic dicarboxylic acid monomers, 2,2′‐diphenylbiphenyl‐4,4′‐dicarboxylic acid ( 4 ) and 2,2′‐di(1‐naphthyl)biphenyl‐4,4′‐dicarboxylic acid ( 5 ), were synthesized by the Suzuki coupling reaction of 2,2′‐diiodobiphenyl‐4,4′‐dicarboxylic acid dimethyl ester with benzeneboronic acid and naphthaleneboronic acid, respectively, followed by alkaline hydrolysis of the ester groups. Four new polyhydrazides were prepared from the dicarboxylic acids 4 and 5 with terephthalic dihydrazide (TPH) and isophthalic dihydrazide (IPH), respectively, via the Yamazaki phosphorylation reaction. These polyhydrazides were amorphous and readily soluble in many organic solvents. Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) indicated that these hydrazide polymers had glass transition temperatures in the range of 187–234 °C and could be thermally cyclodehydrated into the corresponding oxadiazole polymers in the range of 300–400 °C. The resulting poly(1,3,4‐oxadiazole)s exhibited Tg's in the range of 252–283 °C, 10% weight‐loss temperature in excess of 470 °C, and char yield at 800 °C in nitrogen higher than 54%. These organo‐soluble polyhydrazides and poly(1,3,4‐oxadiazole)s exhibited UV–Vis absorption maximum at 262–296 and 264–342 nm in NMP solution, and their photoluminescence spectra showed maximum bands around 414–445 and 404–453 nm, respectively, with quantum yield up to 38%. The electron‐transporting properties were examined by electrochemical methods. Cyclic voltammograms of the poly(1,3,4‐oxadiazole) films cast onto an indium‐tin oxide (ITO)‐coated glass substrate exhibited reversible reduction redox with Eonset at ?1.37 to ?1.57 V versus Ag/AgCl in dry N,N‐dimethylformamide solution. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The synthesis and self‐polyaddition of new monomers, o‐, m‐, and p‐[(3‐ethyloxetane‐3‐yl)methoxyethyl]benzoic acid (o‐EOMB, m‐EOMB, and p‐EOMB) containing both oxetanyl groups and carboxyl groups were examined. The reactions of o‐EOMB, m‐EOMB, and p‐EOMB in the presence of tetraphenylphosphonium bromide as a catalyst in o‐dichlorobenzene at 150–170 °C resulted in self‐polyaddition to give the corresponding hetero‐telechelic polymers poly(o‐EOMB), poly(m‐EOMB), and poly(p‐EOMB) with Mns = 14,500–33,400 in satisfactory yields. The Mn of poly(o‐EOMB) decreased at higher reaction temperatures than 150 °C, unlike those of poly(m‐EOMB) and poly(p‐EOMB), possibly due to inter‐ or intraester exchange side reactions. It was also found that the thermal properties and solubilities of these polymers were supposed with the proposed structures. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Ambient pressure chemical hydrogenation using p-toluene sulfonyl hydrazide (TSH) via thermal diimide formation (N2H2) permitted reduction of double bonds of poly(myrcene) (poly[Myr]) and poly(farnesene) (poly[Far]). Both pendent and backbone double bonds in poly(Myr) (Mn = 56 kg/mol) and poly(Far) (Mn = 62 kg/mol) synthesized by conventional free radical polymerization were hydrogenated to almost completion. Furthermore, TSH semi-batch addition efficiently hydrogenated double bonds, while avoiding undesired autohydrogenation of diimides that occurred in batch mode. Thermal stability improved for hydrogenated poly(Myr) and poly(Far), where temperature at 10% weight loss (T10%) increased from 188 to 404°C for poly(Myr) and from 310 to 379°C for poly(Far). Tgs of poly(Myr) and poly(Far) also increased by about 10–25°C, indicating increased stiffness after hydrogenation. Finally, viscosities of poly(Myr) and poly(Far) were also increased after hydrogenation, and a greater increase was observed for poly(Myr) (by two orders of magnitude from 102 to 104 Pa s) due to its Mn being much higher than its entanglement molecular weight. Poly(Far) viscosity only increased by 1.5 times after hydrogenation (~104 Pa s), comparable to the poly(Myr) after hydrogenation, suggesting unsaturated poly(Far) was more entangled than unsaturated poly(Myr) because of its longer side chains.  相似文献

Alkali and earth‐alkali salts of dicyclopentadiene dicarboxylic acid (DCPDCA) were prepared and employed as monomers in the polyesterification with an α,ω‐dihalide monomer, such as 1,4‐dichlorobutane (DCB), 1,4‐dibromobutane (DBB), α,α′‐dichloro‐p‐xylene (DCX), and α,α′‐dibromo‐p‐xylene (DBX). Novel linear polymers that possessed repeating moieties of dicyclopentadiene ( DCPD ) in the backbone were thus prepared. The IR and NMR spectra indicated that poly(tetramethylene dicyclopentadiene dicarboxylate) (PTMDD) with a number‐average molecular weight (Mn ) of about 1× 104 and poly(p‐xylene dicyclopentadiene dicarboxylate) (PXDD) with a Mn of 4–6 × 103 were obtained with an yield of about 80% via the polyesterification of the alkali salts with DBB and DCX, respectively. The reaction was carried out in the presence of a phase transfer catalyst, such as BzMe3NBr or poly(ethylene glycol), in DMF at 100 °C for 4 h. Oligomers with a lower Mn (1–2 × 103) were obtained when the earth‐alkali salts were employed as salt monomers. Compared to the irreversible linear polymers, poly(p‐xylene terephthalate) (PXTP) and poly(p‐xylene maleate) (PXM), prepared through the reaction between DCX and the potassium salts of terephthalic and maleic acid, respectively, the specific viscosities (ηsp) of the new linear polymers increased abnormally with the decrease of the temperature from 200 °C to 100 °C. This occurred due to the thermally reversible dedimerization/redimerization of  DCPD moieties of the backbone of the polymers via the catalyst‐free Diels–Alder/retro Diels–Alder cycloadditive reactions. The ratio of the ηsp at 100 °C and 200 °C of the reversible polymers was found to be much higher than that of PXTP and PXM, even when the heating/cooling cycle was carried out several times under a N2 atmosphere. The obtained results indicated that thermally reversible covalently bonded linear polymer can be obtained by introducing the  DCPD structure into the backbone of the polymer through the polymerization of a monomer containing the  DCPD moiety. The reversible natures of the polymers and oligomers might be useful in preparing easily processable and recyclable polymers and thermosensor materials. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Novel poly(arylene ether)s, poly(arylene thioether)s, and poly(arylene sulfone)s were synthesized from the dihydroxy(imidoarylene) monomer 1 . The syntheses of poly(arylene ether)s were carried out in DMAc in the presence of anhydrous K2CO3 by a nucleophilic substitution reaction between the bisphenol and activated difluoro compounds. Poly(arylene thioether)s were synthesized according to the recently discovered one-pot polymerization reaction between a bis(N,N′-dimethyl-S-carbamate) and activated difluoro compounds in the presence of a mixture of Cs2CO3 and CaCO3. The bis(N,N′-dimethyl-S-carbamate) 3 was synthesized by the thermal rearrangement reaction of bis(N,N′-dimethylthiocarbamate) 2 , which was synthesized from 1 by a phase-transfer catalyzed reaction. The poly(arylene thioether)s were further oxidized to form poly(arylene sulfone)s, which would be very difficult, if not impossible, to synthesize by other methods. All of the polymers described have extremely high Tgs and thermal stability as determined from DSC and TGA analysis. Poly(arylene sulfone)s have the highest Tgs and they are in the range of 298–361°C. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. J Polym Sci A: Polym Chem 36: 1201–1208, 1998  相似文献

4,4′‐(1,4‐Phenylenedioxy)dibenzoic acid as well as the 2‐methyl‐, 2‐tert‐butyl‐, or 2‐phenyl‐substituted derivatives of this dicarboxylic acid were synthesized in two main steps from p‐fluorobenzonitrile and hydroquinone or its methyl‐, tert‐butyl‐, or phenyl‐substituted derivatives. Polyhydrazides and poly(amide–hydrazide)s were prepared from these bis(ether benzoic acid)s or their diacyl chlorides with terephthalic dihydrazide, isophthalic dihydrazide, or p‐aminobenzoyl hydrazide by means of the phosphorylation reaction or low‐temperature solution polycondensation. Most of the hydrazide polymers and copolymers are amorphous and readily soluble in various polar solvents such as N‐methyl‐2‐pyrrolidone (NMP) and dimethyl sulfoxide. They could be solution‐cast into transparent, flexible, and tough films. These polyhydrazides and poly(amide–hydrazide)s had Tgs in the range of 167–237°C and could be thermally cyclodehydrated into the corresponding poly(1,3,4‐oxadiazole)s and poly(amide–1,3,4‐oxadiazole)s approximately in the region of 250–350°C, as evidenced by the DSC thermograms. All the tert‐butyl‐substituted oxadiazole polymers and those derived from isophthalic dihydrazide were organic soluble. The thermally converted oxadiazole polymers exhibited Tgs in the range of 208–243°C and did not show significant weight loss before 450°C either in nitrogen or in air. © 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Facile construction of sulfur-rich polymers using readily available raw chemicals is an area aggressively pursued but challenging. Herein we use common feedstocks of ethylene oxide (EO), propylene oxide (PO), and carbonyl sulfide (COS) to synthesize copoly(thioether)s which are traditionally produced from unpleasant and difficult to store episulfides. In this protocol, the EO/COS coupling selectively generates a pure poly(ethylene sulfide) (PES) with melting temperature (Tm) values up to 172°C and high yields up to 98%. The EO/PO/COS terpolymerization leads to the incorporation of soft poly(propylene sulfide) (PPS) and hard PES segments together, affording a random PES-co-PPS copoly(thioether) with the complete consumption of EO and PO. Additionally, by simply varying the EO/PO feeding ratio, the obtained copoly(thioether)s possess tunable thermal properties, Tm values in the range of 76–144°C, and excellent solubility. These copolymerizations are conducted in one-pot/one-step at industrially favored reaction temperatures of 100–120°C using catalysts of common organic bases, suggesting a facile and practical manner. Especially, the copoly(thioether) exhibits high refractive indices up to 1.68 owing to its high sulfur content, suggesting a broad application prospect in optical materials.  相似文献

The circular dichroism (CD) spectrum of poly(t‐BuMePhSi*PA) in CHCl3 exhibited very large molar ellipticities ([θ]) in the UV region: [θ]max = 9.2 × 104 ° · cm2 · dmol−1 at 330 nm and −8.0 × 104 ° · cm2 · dmol−1 at 370 nm. The [θ]max values of poly(MeNpPhSi*PA) were also fairly large: [θ]max = 7.1 × 104 ° · cm2 · dmol−1 at 330 nm and −5.3 × 104 ° · cm2 · dmol−1 at 370 nm. The optical rotations of poly(t‐BuMePhSi*PA) and poly(MeNpPhSi*PA), measured in tetrahydrofuran, chloroform, and toluene solutions, were hardly dependent on temperature in the range 22–65 °C. The CD effects of these polymers hardly changed in the temperature range 28–80 °C, either. These results indicate that the helical structures of these polymers are thermally appreciably stable. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. J Polym Sci A: Polym Chem 39: 71–77, 2001  相似文献

The reaction of Ca(BH4)2 · 1.5Dg with decaborane-14 in diglyme at 85°C yields Ca(B11H14)2 · 4Dg. The duration of the reaction is 20 h. The molar ratio of Ca(BH4)2 · 1.5Dg: B10H14 is 1: 3.5. The yield is 84.7%. The synthesized calcium tetradecahydroundecaborate Ca(B11H14)2 · 4Dg is a stable compound soluble in water and a number of organic solvents. The study of the compound was carried out using elemental analysis and IR and NMR 11B {1H} spectroscopy. Calcium undecaborate can be used for synthesizing other salts with boron hydride nido-borates.  相似文献
