In a follow-up to our paper [Threefolds with big and nef anticanonical bundles I, Math. Ann., 2005, 333(3), 569–631], we classify smooth complex projective threefolds Xwith −K X big and nef but not ample, Picard number γ(X) = 2, and whose anticanonical map is small. We assume also that the Mori contraction of X and of its flop X + are not both birational.  相似文献

We study m-dimensional real submanifolds M with (m − 1)-dimensional maximal holomorphic tangent subspace in complex projective space. On these manifolds there exists an almost contact structure F which is naturally induced from the ambient space and in this paper we study the condition h(FX, Y) − h(X, FY) = g(FX, Y)η, ηT (M), on the almost contact structure F and on the second fundamental form h of these submanifolds and we characterize certain model spaces in complex projective space.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the compact Kähler manifolds whose tangent bundles are numerically effective and whose anti-Kodaira dimensions are equal to one. LetX be a compact Kähler manifold with nef tangent bundle and semiample anti-canonical bundle. We prove that κ(?K X )=1 if and only if there exists a finite étale coverY→X such thatY??1×A, whereA is a complex torus. As a consequence, we are able to improve upon a result of T. Fujiwara [3, 4].  相似文献

In this paper we investigate projective 4-dimensional manifolds X whose tangent bundles TX are numerically effective and give an almost complete classification. An important technical tool is the “Mori theory” of projective manifolds X whose canonical bundles KX are not numerically effective.  相似文献

Let (X1) and (Y2) be two Hausdorff locally convex spaces with continuous duals X′ and Y′, respectively, L(X,Y) be the space of all continuous linear operators from X into Y, K(X,Y) be the space of all compact operators of L(X,Y). Let WOT and UOT be the weak operator topology and uniform operator topology on K(X,Y), respectively. In this paper, we characterize a full-invariant property of K(X,Y); that is, if the sequence space λ has the signed-weak gliding hump property, then each λ-multiplier WOT-convergent series ∑iTi in K(X,Y) must be λ-multiplier convergent with respect to all topologies between WOT and UOT if and only if each continuous linear operator T :(X1)→(λβ,σ(λβ,λ)) is compact. It follows from this result that the converse of Kalton's Orlicz–Pettis theorem is also true.  相似文献

Let M be a topological G2-manifold. We prove that the space of infinitesimal associative deformations of a compact associative submanifold Y with boundary in a coassociative submanifold X is the solution space of an elliptic problem. For a connected boundary ∂Y of genus g, the index is given by Yc1(νX)+1−g, where νX denotes the orthogonal complement of TY in TX|∂Y and c1(νX) the first Chern class of νX with respect to its natural complex structure. Further, we exhibit explicit examples of non-trivial index.  相似文献

Let X and Y be two smooth Deligne-Mumford stacks and consider a pair of functions f: X → $ \mathbb{A}^1 $ \mathbb{A}^1 , g:Y → $ \mathbb{A}^1 $ \mathbb{A}^1 . Assuming that there exists a complex of sheaves on X × $ \mathbb{A}^1 $ \mathbb{A}^1 Y which induces an equivalence of D b (X) and D b (Y), we show that there is also an equivalence of the singular derived categories of the fibers f −1(0) and g −1(0). We apply this statement in the setting of McKay correspondence, and generalize a theorem of Orlov on the derived category of a Calabi-Yau hypersurface in a weighted projective space, to products of Calabi-Yau hypersurfaces in simplicial toric varieties with nef anticanonical class.  相似文献

Let K 0(Var k ) be the Grothendieck ring of algebraic varieties over a field k. Let X, Y be two algebraic varieties over k which are piecewise isomorphic (i.e. X and Y admit finite partitions X 1, ..., X n , Y 1, ..., Y n into locally closed subvarieties such that X i is isomorphic to Y i for all in), then [X] = [Y] in K 0(Var k ). Larsen and Lunts ask whether the converse is true. For characteristic zero and algebraically closed field k, we answer positively this question when dim X ≤ 1 or X is a smooth connected projective surface or if X contains only finitely many rational curves.  相似文献

We treat m-dimensional real submanifolds M of complex space forms ̿M when the maximal holomorphic tangent subspace is (m−1)-dimensional. On these manifolds there exists an almost contact structure F which is naturally induced from the ambient space and in this paper we study the condition h(FX,Y)−h(X,FY) = g(FX,Y)η, η∊ T⊥(M), on the structure F and on the second fundamental form h of these submanifolds. Especially when the ambient space ̿M is a complex Euclidean space, we obtain a complete classification of submanifolds M which satisfy these conditions.Mathematics Subject Classifications (2000): 53C15, 53C40, 53B20.  相似文献

We investigate relationships between inessential operators and improjective operators acting between Banach spaces X and Y, emphasizing the case in which one of the spaces is a C(K) space. We show that they coincide in many cases, but they are different in the case X = YC(K 0), where K 0 is a compact space constructed by Koszmider.  相似文献

Let Y be a smooth projective algebraic surface over ?, and T(Y) the kernel of the Albanese map CH0(Y)deg0 → Alb(Y). It was first proven by D. Mumford that if the genus Pg(Y) > 0, then T(Y) is 'infinite dimensional'. One would like to have a better idea about the structure of T(Y). For example, if Y is dominated by a product of curves E1 × E2, such as an abelian or a Kummer surface, then one can easily construct an abelian variety B and a surjective 'regular' homomorphism B?z2T(Y). A similar story holds for the case where Y is the Fano surface of lines on a smooth cubic hypersurface in P4. This implies a sort of boundedness result for T(Y). It is natural to ask if this is the case for any smooth projective algebraic surface Y ? Partial results have been attained in this direction by the author [Illinois. J. Math. 35 (2), 1991]. In this paper, we show that the answer to this question is in general no. Furthermore, we generalize this question to the case of the Chow group of k—cycles on any projective algebraic manifold X, and arrive at, from a conjectural standpoint, necessary and sufficient cohomological conditions on X for which the question can be answered affirmatively.  相似文献

In this paper, we prove two versions of an arithmetic analogue of Bezout's theorem, subject to some technical restrictions. The basic formula proven is deg(V)h(XY)=h(X)deg(Y)+h(Y)deg(X)+O(1), where X and Y are algebraic cycles varying in properly intersecting families on a regular subvariety V S P S N . The theorem is inspired by the arithmetic Bezout inequality of Bost, Gillet, and Soulé, but improve upon it in two ways. First, we obtain an equality up to O(1) as the intersecting cycles vary in projective families. Second, we generalise this result to intersections of divisors on any regular projective arithmetic variety.  相似文献

In this paper, we study numerical properties of Chern classes of certain covering manifolds. One of the main results is the following: Let ψ : XPn be a finite covering of the n-dimensional complex projective space branched along a hypersurface with only simple normal crossings and suppose X is nonsingular. Let ci(X) be the i-th Chern class of X. Then (i) if the canonical divisor KX is numerically effective, then (−1)kck(X) (k ≥ 2) is numerically positive, and (ii) if X is of general type, then (−1)ncil (X) cir, (X) > 0, where il + … + ir = n. Furthermore we show that the same properties hold for certain Kummer coverings.  相似文献

LetT(t) be the translation group onY=C 0(ℝ×K)=C 0(ℝ)⊗C(K),K compact Hausdorff, defined byT(t)f(x, y)=f(x+t, y). In this paper we give several representations of the sun-dialY corresponding to this group. Motivated by the solution of this problem, viz.Y =L 1(ℝ)⊗M(K), we develop a duality theorem for semigroups of the formT 0(t)⊗id on tensor productsZX of Banach spaces, whereT 0(t) is a semigroup onZ. Under appropriate compactness assumptions, depending on the kind of tensor product taken, we show that the sun-dial ofZX is given byZ X*. These results are applied to determine the sun-dials for semigroups induced on spaces of vector-valued functions, e.g.C 0(Ω;X) andL p (μ;X). An automorphism σ of a projective variety X is said to be wild if σ(Y) ≠ Y for every non-empty subvariety Y \subsetneq X{Y \subsetneq X} . In [1] Z. Reichstein, D. Rogalski, and J.J. Zhang conjectured that if X is an irreducible projective variety admitting a wild automorphism then X is an abelian variety, and proved this conjecture for dim(X) ≤ 2. As a step toward answering this conjecture in higher dimensions we prove a structure theorem for projective varieties of Kodaira dimension 0 admitting wild automorphisms. This essentially reduces the Kodaira dimension 0 case to a study of Calabi-Yau varieties, which we also investigate. In support of this conjecture, we show that there are no wild automorphisms of certain Calabi-Yau varieties.  相似文献

Let X be an anisotropic projective quadric over a field F of characteristic not 2. The essential dimension dimes(X) of X, as defined by Oleg Izhboldin, is dimes(X)=dim(X)-i(X) +1, where i(X) is the first Witt index of X (i.e., the Witt index of X over its function field).Let Y be a complete (possibly singular) algebraic variety over F with all closed points of even degree and such that Y has a closed point of odd degree over F(X). Our main theorem states that dimes(X)dim(Y) and that in the case dimes(X)=dim(Y) the quadric X is isotropic over F(Y).Applying the main theorem to a projective quadric Y, we get a proof of Izhboldins conjecture stated as follows: if an anisotropic quadric Y becomes isotropic over F(X), then dimes(X)dimes(Y), and the equality holds if and only if X is isotropic over F(Y). We also solve Knebuschs problem by proving that the smallest transcendence degree of a generic splitting field of a quadric X is equal to dimes(X). To the memory of Oleg Izhboldin  相似文献
