The fiber weight per unit area in prepreg is an important factor to ensure the quality of the composite products. Near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) technology together with a noncontact reflectance sources has been applied for quality analysis of the fiber weight per unit area. The range of the unit area fiber weight was 13.39–14.14 mg cm−2. The regression method was employed by partial least squares (PLS) and principal components regression (PCR). The calibration model was developed by 55 samples to determine the fiber weight per unit area in prepreg. The determination coefficient (R2), root mean square error of calibration (RMSEC) and root mean square error of prediction (RMSEP) were 0.82, 0.092, 0.099, respectively. The predicted values of the fiber weight per unit area in prepreg measured by NIRS technology were comparable to the values obtained by the reference method. For this technology, the noncontact reflectance sources focused directly on the sample with neither previous treatment nor manipulation. The results of the paired t-test revealed that there was no significant difference between the NIR method and the reference method. Besides, the prepreg could be analyzed one time within 20 s without sample destruction.  相似文献

Quantitative analysis with laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy traditionally employs calibration curves that are complicated by chemical matrix effects. These chemical matrix effects influence the laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy plasma and the ratio of elemental composition to elemental emission line intensity. Consequently, laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy calibration typically requires a priori knowledge of the unknown, in order for a series of calibration standards similar to the unknown to be employed. In this paper, three new Multivariate Analysis techniques are employed to analyze the laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy spectra of 18 disparate igneous and highly-metamorphosed rock samples. Partial Least Squares analysis is used to generate a calibration model from which unknown samples can be analyzed. Principal Components Analysis and Soft Independent Modeling of Class Analogy are employed to generate a model and predict the rock type of the samples. These Multivariate Analysis techniques appear to exploit the matrix effects associated with the chemistries of these 18 samples.  相似文献

HPLC with acidic potassium permanganate chemiluminescence detection was employed to analyse 17 Cabernet Sauvignon wines across a range of vintages (1971-2003). Partial least squares regression analysis and principal components analysis was used in order to investigate the relationship between wine composition and vintage. Tartaric acid, vanillic acid, catechin, sinapic acid, ethyl gallate, myricetin, procyanadin B and resveratrol were found to be important components in terms of differences between the vintages.  相似文献

In this paper, the potential of coupling mid- and near-infrared spectroscopic fingerprinting techniques and chemometric classification methods for the traceability of extra virgin olive oil samples from the PDO Sabina was investigated. To this purpose, two different pattern recognition algorithm representative of the discriminant (PLS-DA) and modeling (SIMCA) approach to classification were employed. Results obtained after processing the spectroscopic data by PLS-DA evidenced a rather high classification accuracy, NIR providing better predictions than MIR (as evaluated both in cross-validation and on an external test set). SIMCA confirmed these results and showed how the category models for the class Sabina can be rather sensitive and highly specific. Lastly, as samples from two harvesting years (2009 and 2010) were investigated, it was possible to evidence that the different production year can have a relevant effect on the spectroscopic fingerprint. Notwithstanding this, it was still possible to build models that are transferable from one year to another with good accuracy.  相似文献

This paper presents a simple and sensitive method for the simultaneous determination of methyl paraben (MP ) and phenol (PO ) based on the application of successive projections algorithm (SPA ) to the first derivative spectra (200–350 nm). SPA is used for variables selection in order to obtain multiple linear regression (MLR ) models using a small subset of wavelengths. The starting vector and the number of variables are optimized and the best variables are selected according to the sequence of projection operations on the spectral data matrix of the calibration set. Principal component regression and partial least squares models are also developed for comparison. The best models are found to be SPA‐MLR using seven wavelengths from the first‐derivative spectra with a root‐mean‐square error of prediction (RMSEP) of 0.08 for MP and eight wavelengths with RMSEP of 0.31 for the determination of PO . The accuracy of the proposed method is confirmed by spiked recovery test on cosmetic samples with satisfactory results (86–110%). Analysis results of the cosmetic samples are also statistically compared with those obtained from the HPLC method, showing no significant difference regarding accuracy and precision. The results indicate the potential of SPA‐MLR and derivative spectrophotometry for rapid and sensitive analysis of cosmetic samples.  相似文献

Near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy in conjunction with chemometric techniques allows on-line monitoring in real time, which can be of considerable use in industry. If it is to be correctly used in industrial applications, generally some basic considerations need to be taken into account, although this does not always apply. This study discusses some of the considerations that would help evaluate the possibility of applying multivariate calibration in combination with NIR to properties of industrial interest. Examples of these considerations are whether there is a relation between the NIR spectrum and the property of interest, what the calibration constraints are and how a sample-specific error of prediction can be quantified. Various strategies for maintaining a multivariate model after it has been installed are also presented and discussed.  相似文献

Near-infrared (NIR) and mid-infrared (MIR) spectroscopy have been compared and evaluated for the determination of the distillation property of kerosene with the use of partial least squares (PLS) regression. Since kerosene is a complex mixture of similar hydrocarbons, both spectroscopic methods will be best evaluated with this complex sample matrix. PLS calibration models for each percent recovery temperature have been developed by using both NIR and MIR spectra without spectral pretreatment. Both methods have shown good correlation with the corresponding reference method, however NIR provided better calibration performance over MIR. To rationalize the improved calibration performance of NIR, spectra of the same kerosene sample were continuously collected and the corresponding spectral reproducibility was evaluated. The greater spectral reproducibility including signal-to-noise ratio of NIR led to the improved calibration performance, even though MIR spectroscopy provided more qualitative spectral information. The reproducibility of measurement, signal-to-noise ratio, and richness of qualitative information should be simultaneously considered for proper selection of a spectroscopic method for quantitative analysis.  相似文献

The combination of the near infrared (NIR) and Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) absorbance spectra (1100-2500 nm and 4000-600 cm−1) of 100 cocoa powder samples was used to build calibration models for the determination of the content of fat, nitrogen, and moisture. The samples that comprised the dataset had an average composition of 13.51% of fat, 3.77% nitrogen, and 3.98% moisture. The fat content ranged from 2.42 to 22.00%, the nitrogen from 0.88 to 4.48%, and moisture from 1.60 to 7.80%. For NIR, the relative root mean square error of cross-validation (RMSECV) was 7.0% (R2 = 0.96) for fat, 1.7% (R2 = 0.98) for nitrogen, and 5.2% (R2 = 0.94) for moisture. For FTIR, the relative RMSECV was 10.4% (R2 = 0.94) for fat and 3.9% (R2 = 0.95) for nitrogen. However, for moisture, it was not possible to build a calibration model with suitable predictability. The combination of the NIR and FTIR domains (data fusion) by outer product analysis PLS1 allowed to predict these parameters and to characterise frequencies in one domain based on the information of the other domain. This work allows to conclude that the second derivative of NIR is the recommended procedure to quantify fat, nitrogen, and moisture content in cocoa powders by infrared spectroscopy.  相似文献

The necessity for inspection and assessment of glued laminated timber structures in service has raised interest in the evaluation of the glue lines. Glue line spectra were analysed and are discussed in detail with respect to spectral contributions from the adhesive, the hardener, the wood lamella below the adhesive, the curing temperature as well as ageing-related spectral changes. The combination of near infrared (NIR) spectroscopy and principal component analysis (PCA) allowed distinguishing between aged and non-aged samples and different copper azole preservative treatment levels of phenol-resorcinol-formaldehyde (PRF) glue lines. NIR-based partial least squares (PLS) regression modelling was performed for the glue line shear strength and for the curing temperature. These findings show that NIR spectroscopy is a fast and useful technique to evaluate the degradation on the PRF glue lines of untreated and copper azole treated laminated timber.  相似文献

The paper focuses on solving a common and important problem of NIR quantitative analysis in multi-component systems: how to significantly reduce the size of the calibration set while not impairing the predictive precision. To cope with the problem orthogonal discrete wavelet packet transform (WPT), the least correlation design and correlation coefficient test (r-test) have been combined together. As three examples, a two-component carbon tetrachloride system with 21 calibration samples, a two-component aqueous system with 21 calibration samples, and a two-component aqueous system with 41 calibration samples have been treated with the proposed strategy, respectively. In comparison with some previous methods based on much more calibration samples, the results out of the strategy showed that the predictive ability was not obviously decreased for the first system while being clearly strengthened for the second one, and the predictive precision out of the third one was even satisfactory enough for most cases of quantitative analysis. In addition, all important factors and parameters related to our strategy are discussed in detail.  相似文献

The characterization and authentication of fats and oils is a subject of great importance for market and health aspects. Identification and quantification of triacylglycerols in fats and oils can be excellent tools for detecting changes in their composition due to the mixtures of these products. Most of the triacylglycerol species present in either fats or oils could be analyzed and identified by chromatographic methods. However, the natural variability of these samples and the possible presence of adulterants require the application of chemometric pattern recognition methods to facilitate the interpretation of the obtained data. In view of the growing interest in this topic, this paper reviews the literature of the application of exploratory and unsupervised/supervised chemometric methods on chromatographic data, using triacylglycerol composition for the characterization and authentication of several foodstuffs such as olive oil, vegetable oils, animal fats, fish oils, milk and dairy products, cocoa and coffee.  相似文献

Food fingerprinting approaches are expected to become a very potent tool in authentication processes aiming at a comprehensive characterization of complex food matrices. By non-targeted spectrometric or spectroscopic chemical analysis with a subsequent (multivariate) statistical evaluation of acquired data, food matrices can be investigated in terms of their geographical origin, species variety or possible adulterations. Although many successful research projects have already demonstrated the feasibility of non-targeted fingerprinting approaches, their uptake and implementation into routine analysis and food surveillance is still limited. In many proof-of-principle studies, the prediction ability of only one data set was explored, measured within a limited period of time using one instrument within one laboratory. Thorough validation strategies that guarantee reliability of the respective data basis and that allow conclusion on the applicability of the respective approaches for its fit-for-purpose have not yet been proposed. Within this review, critical steps of the fingerprinting workflow were explored to develop a generic scheme for multivariate model validation. As a result, a proposed scheme for “good practice” shall guide users through validation and reporting of non-targeted fingerprinting results. Furthermore, food fingerprinting studies were selected by a systematic search approach and reviewed with regard to (a) transparency of data processing and (b) validity of study results. Subsequently, the studies were inspected for measures of statistical model validation, analytical method validation and quality assurance measures. In this context, issues and recommendations were found that might be considered as an actual starting point for developing validation standards of non-targeted metabolomics approaches for food authentication in the future. Hence, this review intends to contribute to the harmonization and standardization of food fingerprinting, both required as a prior condition for the authentication of food in routine analysis and official control.  相似文献
