Quantum chemistry calculations have been performed using Gaussian03 program to compute optimized geometry, harmonic vibrational frequency along with intensities in IR and Raman spectra at RHF/6-31++G** and B3LYP/6-31++G** levels for phenobarbitone (C12H12N2O3) in the ground state. The scaled harmonic vibrational frequencies have been compared with experimental FT-IR and FT-Raman spectra. Theoretical vibrational spectra of the title compound were interpreted by means of potential energy distributions (PEDs) using MOLVIB program. A detailed interpretation of the infrared spectra of the title compound is reported. On the basis of the agreement between the calculated and observed results, the assignments of fundamental vibrational modes of phenobarbitone were examined and some assignments were proposed. The theoretical spectrograms for FT-IR and FT-Raman spectra of the title compound have been constructed.  相似文献

The molecular structure and conformational mobility of methyl and tert-butyl esters of peracetic acid AcOOR (R = Me (1), But (2)) were studied by the ab initio MP4(SDQ)//MP2(FC)/6-31G(d,p) method and density functional B3LYP/6-31G(d,p) approach. The B3LYP calculated equilibrium conformations of the molecules are characterized by the C-O-O-C torsion angles of 93.6° (1) and 117.0° (2). Structural features of the molecules under study and a distortion of tetrahedral bond configuration at the Cα atom were explained using the natural bonding orbital approach. The standard enthalpies of formation of AcOOMe (−328.5 kJ mol−1) and AcOOBut (−440.4 kJ mol−1) were determined using the G2 and G2(MP2) computational schemes and the isodesmic reaction approach. The transition state of AcOOMe decomposition into AcOOH and formaldehyde was calculated (E a = 122.8 kJ mol−1). The thermal effects of homolytic decomposition of the peroxy esters following a concerted mechanism (Me· + CO2 + ·OR) and simple homolysis of the peroxide bond (AcO· + ·OR) were found to be 97.5±0.3 and 155.1±0.3 kJ mol−1, respectively. At temperatures below 400 K, the most probable decomposition mechanism of peroxy esters 1 and 2 involves simple homolysis of the O-O bond.__________Published in Russian in Izvestiya Akademii Nauk. The molecular and electronic structure of the ground state of peroxyacetyl nitrate (PAN) was calculated by the unrestricted Hartree-Fock-Roothaan method with the use of the standard 3–21G and 6–31G basis set. The potential curve of the internal rotation about the peroxide bond of PAN was calculated with the 6–31G basis set. The curve contains two maxima. The ground state of PAN is characterized by a structure in which groups of atoms adjacent to the peroxide bond lie in planes that are perpendicular to each other (the dihedral angle ϱ(COON) is 89.9°). The calculated barriers to rotation are 19.6 and 66.8 kJ mol−1. Translated fromIzvestiya Akademii Nauk. Seriya Khimicheskaya, No. 4, pp. 600–604, April, 1998.  相似文献

The equilibrium geometric parameters and structures of transition states of internal rotation for the molecules of methyldicyanophospine MeP(CN)2 and its isocyano analog MeP(NC)2 were calculated by the RHF and MP2 methods with the 6–31G* and 6–31G** basis sets. At the MP2 level, the total energy of cyanide is −35 kcal mol−1 lower than that of isocyanide and the barriers to internal rotation of methyl group for MeP(CN)2 and MeP(NC)2 are 2.2 and 2.7 kcal mol−1, respectively. For both molecules, the one-dimensionalab initio potential functions of internal rotation approximated by a truncated Fourier series were used to determine the frequencies of torsional transitions by solving direct vibrational problems for a non-rigid model. The Raman spectrum of crystalline MeP(CN)2 was recorded in the range 3500–50 cm−1. The vibrational spectra of this compound were interpreted by scalingab initio force fields calculated by the RHF and MP2 method. The vibrational spectrum of methyldiisocyanophosphine was predicted with the use of the obtained scale factors. Translated fromIzvestiya Akademii Nauk. The IR and Raman spectra of aminomethylene propanedinitrile (AM) [H2N-CH=C(CN)2], (methylamino)methylene propanedinitrile (MAM) [CH3NH-CH=C(CN)2] and (dimethylamino)methylene propanedinitrile (DMAM) [(CH3)2N-CH=C(CN)2] as solids and solutes in various solvents have been recorded in the region 4000-50 cm–1. AM and DMAM can exist only as one conformer. From the vibrational and NMR spectra of MAM in solutions, the existence of two conformers with the methyl group orientedanti andsyn toward the double C=C bond were confirmed. The enthalpy difference H 0 between the conformers was measured to be 3.7±1.4 kJ mol–1 from the IR spectra in acetonitrile solution and 3.4±1.1 kJ mol–1 from the NMR spectra in DMSO solution. Semiempirical (AM1, PM3, MNDO, MINDO3) and ab initio SCF calculations using a DZP basis set were carried out for all three compounds. The calculations support the existence of two conformersanti andsyn for MAM, withanti being 7.8 kJ mol–1 more stable thansyn from ab initio and 8.6, 13.4, 11.6, and 10.8 kJ mor–1 from AM1, PM3, MNDO, and MINDO3 calculations, respectively. Finally, complete assignments of the vibrational spectra for all three compounds were made with the aid of normal coordinate calculations employing scaled ab initio force constants. The same scale factors were optimized on the experimental frequencies of all three compounds, and a very good agreement between calculated and experimental frequencies was achieved.  相似文献

The electronic and molecular structure of planar (cyclic and linear) tetra- and hexaatomic clusters (XY) n (XY = CC, BN, BeO, LiF; n = 2, 3) was studied using the ab initio CCD(full)/6-311+G** method and density functional approach (B3LYP/6-311+G**). The stability of cyclic clusters C6, B3N3, and Be3O3 with D3h symmetry is mainly determined by the aromaticity of their -electron systems.  相似文献

The molecular vibrations of xanthine were investigated in polycrystalline sample, at room temperature by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) and FT-Raman spectroscopies. The spectra of the molecule have been recorded in the regions 4000-50 cm(-1) and 3500-100 cm(-1), respectively. Theoretical information on the optimized geometry, harmonic vibrational frequencies, infrared and Raman intensities were obtained by means of ab initio Hartree-Fock (HF) and density functional theory (DFT) gradient calculations with complete relaxation in the potential energy surface using 6-311++G(d,p) basis set. The vibrational frequencies which were determined experimentally from the spectral data are compared with those obtained theoretically from ab initio and DFT calculations. A close agreement was achieved between the observed and calculated frequencies by refinement of the scale factors. The infrared and Raman spectra were also predicted from the calculated intensities. Thermodynamic properties like entropy, heat capacity, zero point energy have been calculated for the molecule. Unambiguous vibrational assignment of all the fundamentals was made using the potential energy distribution (PED).  相似文献

The equilibrium structures, total energies, and harmonic frequencies of peroxides ROOR and ROOH (R = Me, But, CF3) were calculated using the perturbation theory (MP4//MP2 method) and density functional approach (B3LYP) in the 6-31G(d,p) basis set. The conformational flexibility of peroxides under rotation about the O-O bond was investigated. It was found that the stable conformation of a peroxide molecule is determined by superposition of the destabilizing effects (repulsion between the lone electron pairs, steric hindrances) and the interaction of the nonbonding orbitals of oxygen atoms with the antibonding orbitals of the adjacent polar bonds. The latter effect stabilizes the nonplanar structure of the peroxide molecule. The role of orbital interactions in manifestation of the d-effect (distortion of the tetrahedral configuration of the X3CO fragment of peroxide molecule) was revealed. The vibrational spectra of peroxides were calculated and compared with the experimental data. The potential energy distribution over normal vibrations was analyzed. The enthalpies of formation and the bond strengths in the molecules of compounds examined were calculated in the framework of the isodesmic reaction approach.  相似文献

RHF and MP2 techniques in 6–31G(d) basis set have been used to determine the structure of the isolated molecule CHCl2COCl in two stable conformations (cis-and gosh-), as well as in transition states arising due to the rotary motion of CHCl2 group around the C—C bond. The energy gap between the conformers and the relevant potential barriers has been calculated using the obtained potential dependence of the internal rotation. Plausible conformation of dichloroacetylchloride is discussed on the basis of 35Cl NQR.  相似文献

The harmonic vibrational force fields and the IR spectrum of XSO2NCO (X= F, C1) molecules have been studied usingab initio HF/SCF method with the 6-31G’ basis set. Theab initio harmonic force fields are scaled empirically using the scaled quantum mechanical (SQM) method of Pulay. A set of scale factors are optimized by the least-squares fitting to the experimental frequencies of FSO2NCO and then are transferred to CISO2NCO to give ana priori prediction of its fundamental frequencies. The average deviations between the theoretical frequencies and the experimental values for FSO2NCO and C1SO2NCO are 3 and 5 cm-1, respectively. The assignments of the fundamentals for these two molecules are also made atcording to the potential energy distributions and theab initio IR intensities Project supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (Grant No. 29673029)  相似文献

Muscimol, a constituent of the mushroomAmanita muscaria, is a semirigid analogue of the inhibitory neurotransmitter 4-aminobutyric acid (GABA). X-ray structure determinations and quantum chemicalab initio calculations (HF/6-31G*) have been carried out on the muscimol zwitterion. The solid-state conformations of the muscimol zwitterion are calculated to be 1.6–2.2 kcal/mol higher in energy than that of the calculated minimum energy structurein vacuo. A comparison of the calculated and experimental structures indicates that the hydrogen bonding network in the solid state significantly affects the geometry of the molecular structure. This conclusion is supported by results ofab initio calculations on binary complexes between muscimol and an ammonium ion and between muscimol and a methoxide anion, simulating observed hydrogen bonding in the crystal structures.  相似文献

The microwave spectra of (CH3)2PSF, (CH3)(CD3)PSF, (CD3)2PSF, and (CH3)2P34SF have been investigated from 20.0 to 40.0 GHz. Botha-type R branch andc-type Q branch transitions have been measured in the ground states of each isotopic species. From a least-square adjustment to fit 12 rotational constants, the following structural parameters were obtained:r(P–F)=1.582 ± 0.003 Å;r(P=S)=1.902 ± 0.001 Å;r(P-C)=1.800 ± 0.001 Å;r(C-H)=1.088 ± 0.002 Å; HCP=109.28 ± 0.12°; SPF=114.50 ± 0.13°; and SPC=116.33 ± 0.06°. From Stark effect measurements, the dipole moment components have been determined to be ¦ a ¦ =3.556 ± 0.005; ¦ c ¦=2.026 ± 0.009; and ¦ t ¦=4.093 ± 0.009 (D). The Raman spectra (3200 to 100 cm–1) of each isotopic species have been measured for the solid, and liquid and qualitative depolarization values obtained. Additionally, the mid-infrared spectra (3200 to 500 cm–1) of the solids have been recorded. Proposed assignments of the normal modes have been made on the basis of Raman depolarization values and group frequencies which are supported by normal coordinate analysis utilizing an ab initio force field. Optimized structural parameters have been obtained with both the 3-21G* and 6-31G* basis sets. These results are compared to the corresponding quantities for several similar molecules. For part XLVIII, seeJ. Raman Spectrosc.1922,23, 107.  相似文献

Vibrational analysis of tellurium tetrachloride, TeCl4, was performed with Hartree–Fock (HF), MP2, and generalized gradient approximation density functional theory (DFT) methods supplemented with polarized double-zeta split valence (DZVP) basis sets and relativistic effective core potentials (RECP) of Hay and Wadt. The molecular geometry is best reproduced at the HF and MP2/RECP+DZVP [polarized Hay and Wadt RECP for Te and 6–31G(d) basis set for Cl] levels of theory. The DFT methods gave rise to poorer results, especially those using Becke's 1988 exchange functional. Generally, the vibrational frequencies calculated by the MP2 and B3-type DFT methods with the all electron and RECP+DZVP basis sets as well as at the HF/RECP level were in satisfactory accord with the experimental data. The agreement was good enough to assist the assignment of the measured vibrational spectra. The best agreement with the experimental vibrational frequencies was achieved with the scaled HF/RECP force field. Consistent results were obtained for the unobserved A24) fundamental, where the results of the best methods were within 4 cm−1. The best force fields were obtained with the following methods: Becke3–Lee–Yang–Parr and Becke3–Perdew/all electron basis, MP2 and Becke3-Perdew/RECP+DZVP, and HF/RECP. The methods using RECPs are advantageous for large-scale computations. The RECP basis set effectively compensates the errors of the HF method for TeCl4; however, it provides poor results with correlated methods. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. This work is devoted to theoretical study on molecular structure of protopine. The equilibrium geometry, harmonic vibrational frequencies and infrared intensities were calculated by ab initio Hartree-Fock and density functional B3LYP methods with the 6-31G(d) basis set and were interpreted in terms of potential energy distribution (PED) analysis. The internal coordinates were optimized repeatedly for many times to maximize the PED contributions. A detailed interpretation of the infrared spectra of protopine is reported. The calculations are in agreement with experiment. The thermodynamic functions of the title compound were also performed at HF/6-31G(d) and B3LYP/6-31G(d) level of theory. The FT-IR spectra of protopine were recorded in solid phase.  相似文献

The Raman (3200 to 10 cm–1) and infrared (3500 to 50 cm–1) spectra of vinyl chloroformate, H2C=CHOC(O)Cl, have been recorded for both the gas and solid. Additionally, the Raman spectrum of the liquid has been recorded, and depolarization ratios have been obtained. These data have been interpreted on the basis that the only stable conformation present at ambient temperature is thetrans-trans rotamer, where the firsttrans refers to the vinyl moiety relative to the O—CCl bond and the second to the C—Cl bond relative to the=C—O bond. Using harmonic rigid asymmetric top calculations, the infrared vapor phase contours for the C=O and the C=C stretch were predicted for thetrans-trans and for thecis-trans conformer, and were compared with experiment. For both fundamentals thetrans-trans hybrid reproduces the experimental contour, whereas thecis-trans contours fail to do so for both fundamentals. From far-infrared spectrum of the vapor obtained at 0.1 cm–1 resolution, the C(O)Cl andO-vinyl torsional fundamentals have been observed at 132 and 61 cm–1, respectively. Ther 0 structural parameters have been obtained from a combination of ab initio calculated parameters with appropriate offset values and the fit of the microwave rotational constants for the two naturally occurring chlorine isotopes. The structure, barrier to internal rotation, and vibrational frequencies have been determined from ab initio Hartree-Fock gradient calculations, using the 3-21G* and 6-31G* basis sets. These results are compared to those obtained experimentally and to similar quantities for some related molecules.  相似文献

The geometry and force fields of the bis(trimethylstannyl)acetylene molecule (a conformer withD 3d symmetry corresponding to a minimum of the total energy of the molecule) were calculated by the RHF and MP2(fc) methods. The effective core potential in SBK form with the optimized 31G* valence basis set was employed in the case of Sn atoms. The 6–31G** and 6–311G** basis sets were used for carbon and hydrogen atoms. Vibrational spectra of the light and perdeuterated isotopomers of bis(trimethylstannyl)acetylene were interpreted using the procedure of scaling the quantum-chemical force fields. An ab initio conformational analysis of methyl vinyl sulfone (CH2CHSO2CH3) has been carried out. Molecular geometry optimizations have been performed at the HF and MP2 levels of the theory. Relative energies of the stationary points have been determined by using different approaches, including electron correlation corrections up to the third order. The IR and Raman spectra of the liquid have been measured and a vibrational assignment is proposed. The height of the barrier to the methyl group internal rotation has been estimated. Theoretical calculations and vibrational spectra have shown that the predominant conformation of methyl vinyl sulfone has the C=C bond eclipsed with one of the S=O bonds. Similar eclipsed forms have been found in vinyl fluoro sulfone, vinyl chloro sulfone and divinyl sulfone by ab initio HF calculations.  相似文献

The electronic structure and reactivity of some S—S dications were studied at the MP2/6-31G* level of theory. The results obtained indicate a stepwise electrophilic addition of disulfonium dication moiety to the double C=C bond to be the preferable mechanism.  相似文献

An ab initio method has been used to perform quantum mechanical calculations of the formation energy of different conformers of benzophenone: planar molecule, twisted molecule, planar molecule dimer, twisted molecule dimer; electronic and vibrational spectra of these conformers were also obtained. An assessment of the medium (solvent) influence on the optimal geometry, dipole moment and stability of different forms of benzophenone was performed in the self-consistent reaction field approximation. It is shown that the twisted conformer is more stable than the planar one (the difference of free energies is 32 kJ/mol for free molecules) and it becomes even more stable with the increase in solvent polarity. The calculated electronic and vibrational spectra agree well with the experimental data and properly reflect the complication of the vibrational spectrum when passing from the gaseous phase to the condensed state of benzophenone. The difference between spectral properties of the two dimer forms allows their identification from the spectra and qualitative explanation of the observed peculiarities of phosphorescence of the amorphous phase of benzophenone by the stabilization of different conformers.  相似文献
