TYPES AND CRITERIA OF NONOSCILLATORY SOLUTIONS FOR SOME SECOND ORDER NFDE

In this paper we discuss the following NFDE[r(t)[x(t)-cx(t-τ)]′]′ integral from a to b p(t,ξ)x[g(t,ξ)]dσ(ξ)=0where τ>0,1>c≥0,0≤g(t,ξ)≤t,r(t)>0,p(t,ξ)>0,and some sufficient and necessary conditionsare given,under which there are three types of nonoscillatory solutions for the above equation.     

一类拟线性椭圆方程组的Dirichlet问题

The homogeneous Dirichlet problem(1) for quasilinear elliptic system in a bounded domain Ω is investigated in this paper. The existence of generalized solutions in [H₀¹(Ω)]^N is obtained by using the contructive Galerkin method. For the case of a_ij^lm=0 when i≠j, it is estatablished that such generalized solutions have bounded [L_∞(Ω)]N norm and possess Holeler continuity. Even in the particular case that f_i are independent of Du, our results have improved those of A. V. Lair [Ann. Mat. Pura Appl., 116(1978)], allowing b_i¹(x,u) and f_i(x,u) to have a growth in u arbitrarily close to 1.     

WEAK TRAVELLING WAVE FRONT SOLUTIONS OF GENERALIZED DIFFUSION EQUATIONS WITH REACTION

The author demonstrate that the two-point boundary value problem {p′(s)=f′(s)-λp^β(s)for s∈(0,1);β∈(0,1),p(0)=p(1)=0,p(s)>0 if s∈(0,1),has a solution(λ^-，p^-（s）),where |λ^-| is the smallest parameter,under the minimal stringent restrictions on f(s), by applying the shooting and regularization methods. In a classic paper, Kohmogorov et.al.studied in 1937 a problem which can be converted into a special case of the above problem. The author also use the solution(λ^-,p^-(s)) to construct a weak travelling wave front solution u(x,t)=y(ξ),ξ=x-Ct,C=λ^-N/(N+1),of the generalized diffusion equation with reaction δ/δx（k（u）|δu/δx|^n-1 δu/δx)-δu/δt=g（u），where N>0,k(s)>0 a.e.on(0,1),and f(a):=n+1/N∫0ag(t)k^1/N(t)dt is absolutely continuous ou[0,1],while y(ξ) is increasing and absolutely continuous on (-∞,+∞) and (k(y(ξ))|y′(ξ)|^N)′=g(y(ξ))-Cy′(ξ)a.e.on(-∞，+∞）,y(-∞)=0,y(+∞)=1.     

关于非线性泛函的一个问题

Suppose that H is a Hilbert space, D is a convex closed set inis a functioal, f(x)=1/2‖x‖²-g(x). Suppose that the minimum of f(x) withrespect to D is attained at x₀∈D and f(x) has a bounded linear Gateaux differential at x₀. In this paper we prove that f(x₀) is a critical value of f(x) when and only when g′(x₀)∈I_D(x₀)={(1-λ)x₀+λy|y∈D.λ≥0}.     

OSCILLATORY AND ASYMPTOTIC BEHAVIORS OF FIRST ORDER FUNCTIONAL DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS

In this paper the author discusses the following first order functional differentialequations: x'(t) +integral from n=a to b p(t, ξ)x[g(t, ξ)]dσ(ξ)=0, (1) x'(t) +integral from n=a to b f(t, ξ, x[g(t, ξ)])dσ(ξ)=0. (2)Some suffcient conditions of oscillation and nonoseillafion are obtained, and two asymptolioproperties and their criteria are given. These criferia are better than those in [1, 2], and canbe used to the following equations: x'(t) + sum from i=1 to n p_i(t)x[g_i(t)] =0, (3) x'(t) + sum from i=1 to n f_i(t, x[g_i(t)] =0. (4)

in linear models, the error varianceσ2 of random errors is usually estimat-ted by the residual sum of squares (divided by a su ita ble degree of free-dom), based on the first n observation, (denote it by σ_n²). it is well known t that under certain conditions, the distribution of this estimate, when standardised, converges to the standard normal distribution. In this paper, it is shown that |G_n(x)-Ф(x)|=O(n^-δ/2(1+|x|)^-(2+δ)). when the errors are indepedent (maynot be identically distributed) and their 4 + 2δ order moments exist, where G_n(x) is the distribution of (σ_n²-σ²/(varσ_n²)^1/2,Ф(x)=1/(2π)^1/2∫_-∞^xe^-r2/2dt.     

Long-time Asymptotic Behavior for the Derivative Schr¨odinger Equation with Finite Density Type Initial Data*

In this paper, the authors apply ? steepest descent method to study the Cauchy problem for the derivative nonlinear Schr¨odinger equation with finite density type initial data iq_t + q_xx + i(|q|²q)x = 0,q(x, 0) = q0(x),where lim/x→±∞ q0(x) = q± and |q±| = 1. Based on the spectral analysis of the Lax pair,they express the solution of the derivative Schr¨odinger equation in terms of solutions of a Riemann-Hilbert problem. They compute the long time asymptotic expansion of the solution q(x, t) in different space-time regions. For the region ξ =x/t with |ξ + 2| < 1, the long time asymptotic is given by q(x, t) = T (∞)^?2q^r_Λ(x, t) + O(t^?3/4 ),in which the leading term is N(I) solitons, the second term is a residual error from a ? equation. For the region |ξ + 2| > 1, the long time asymptotic is given by q(x, t) = T (∞)^?2q^r_Λ(x, t) ? t^?1/2 if¹¹ + O(t^?3/4 ),in which the leading term is N(I) solitons, the second t^?1/2 order term is soliton-radiation interactions and the third term is a residual error from a ? equation. These results are verification of the soliton resolution conjecture for the derivative Schr¨odinger equation. In their case of finite density type initial data, the phase function θ(z) is more complicated that in finite mass initial data. Moreover, two triangular decompositions of the jump matrix are used to open jump lines on the whole real axis and imaginary axis, respectively.

本文研究下列n阶RFDE边值问题:x⁽ⁿ⁾(t)=f(t,x_t,x(t),x′(t),…,x^(n-1)(t)),　t∈［0,T ］,x(t)=φ(t),t∈［-r,0］;x′(0)=η,x″(0)=η₂,…,x^(n-2) (0)=η_n-2,x^(j)(T)=A,其中j∈I={0,1,2,…,n-1},得到了解的存在性和唯一性新的结果.     

正负系数的扰动的中立型微分方程的稳定性

In this paper the perturbed neutral differential equation with positive and negative coefficients d/dt[x(t)-C(t)x(t-r)] p(t)x(t-x)-Q(t)x(t-δ)=f(t,x(t)),t≥t0is considered. Sufficient conditions for the zero solution of this equation to be uniformly stable as well as asymptotically stable are obtained.

In this paper, we give an estimation of the number of meromorphic solu-tions and linearly independent meromorphic solutions of some class ordinary differential equations with rational coefficients (dw)/(dz)=a₀(z)+a₁(z)w+…+a_n(z)wⁿ (n≥3).     

On the distributions of the ratios of the extreme roots to the trace of the Wishart matrix

In this paper, the authors cosider the derivation of the exact distributions of the ratios of the extreme roots to the trace of the Wishart matrix. Also, exact percentage points of these distributions are given and their applications are discussed.     

On the comparison between the APV and the NPV computed via the WACC

The valuation of levered investment in the practice is made with the WACC approach, even if the superior technique of the APV is available. The paper shows that the APV can be interpreted as the arbitrage free value of the portfolio made by an investment and a supporting loan. Therefore the WACC evaluation, generally different from the APV, allows for arbitrage. We provide various conditions which completely characterize the sign of the error as a functions of all the variables entering the model.

On the Gap in the Spectrum of the Translations

The spectrum of the translations in local quantum field theory will be analyzed in order to show that in a positive energy representation without vacuum vector and with lowest mass m₁ there is no gap in the spectrum which is larger than 2m₁. In particular in a zero mass representation there is no hole at all. These results are obtained with methods of analytic functions of several complex variables.

From the neutrino to the edge of the universe

Two recent findings necessitate a closer look at the existing standard models of particle physics and cosmology. These are the discovery of neutrino oscillation, and hence a non-zero mass on the one hand and, on the other, observations of distant supernovae which indicate that contrary to popular belief, the universe would continue to expand for ever, possibly accelerating in the process. In this paper it is pointed out that relatively recent studies which indicate a stochastic, quantum vacuum underpinning and a fractal structure for space time, reconcile both of the recent observations, harmoniously.     

On the dependence of the growth rate on the length of the defining relator

Let { } be a sequence of finitely presented groups with generating setA={a1, …, am}, and letRk be the symmetrized set of words over the alphabetA∪A−1 obtained from the defining words and their inverses by all cyclic shifts. We shall assume that the words inRk are cyclically irreducible, and their lengths tend to ∞ ask increases. In the paper, it is proved that ifRk satisfies the small cancellation conditionC'(1/6) and the number of relators increases not very rapidly with increasingk, then the growth rate ψ(Gk) tends to 2m−1 ask→∞.
