制备了两种新型的分别含有以三苯胺为电子给体的偶氮类发色团作为特征活性官能团和3-呋喃甲酸及受保护的马来酰亚胺的可交联型聚合物体系.通过研究表明利用该制备方法,发色团在聚合物中的含量得到了极大的提高,分别达到32 .1 %( NLO1-P1)和44 .4 %( NLO1-P2) .该聚合物体系以"Diels-Alder"[4 +2]环加成反应作为其交联特征,具有高温非交联、低温交联的特点,其过程与以往的热交联型聚合物相反,可解决传统电光交联聚合物中存在的热交联对极化效率影响的问题并用热失重分析法(TGA)和差示扫描量热法(DSC)分析了这一过程.此外DA交联型聚合物,不需要引入额外的助交联剂,克服了传统热交联聚合物分离难的问题,最大程度的保证了材料的纯度.  相似文献

Herein, high‐generation dendrimers G4‐NS and G5‐NS , which contained 30 and 62 azo‐benzene chromophore moieties, respectively, were conveniently prepared in high purity and satisfied yields by a combination of divergent and convergent approaches, coupled with the utilization of the powerful Sharpless click reaction. These dendrimers possessed a regular structure of alternating layers of nitro‐based and sulfonyl‐based azo chromophores in which the sulfonyl‐based azo‐chromophore moieties were utilized as co‐isolation groups for the nitro‐based moieties to achieve larger macroscopic second‐order nonlinear optical (NLO) effects. These high‐generation dendrimers ( G4‐NS and G5‐NS ) displayed very large NLO efficiencies (up to 253.0 pm V?1), which is, to the best of our knowledge, the record highest efficiency for simple azo‐chromophore moieties.  相似文献

We report the synthesis and characterization of interpenetrating polymer networks (IPNs) exhibiting nonlinear optical (NLO) properties. The network consists of aliphatic polycarbonate urethane (PCU) and poly(methyl methacrylate-co-N,N-disubstituted urea), with a nonlinear optical (NLO) chromophore incorporated into N,N-disubstituted urea. The full IPNs have only one Tg, as determined by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), together with scanning electron microscopy (SEM) observations, suggest a single phase morphology. The thin films of IPNs are transparent and the unpoled samples produced second harmonic generation (SHG) signals at room temperature. This result indicates that the NLO chromophore is oriented noncentrosymmetrically during the IPN formation process and is tightly held between the permanent entanglements of the two component networks of the IPN. © 1996 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

An attempt has been made to prepare second-order nonlinear optic (NLO) materials based on cellulose diacetate and melamine derivatives. The NLO cationic chromophore, composed of 1,3-dimethyl-2-(4′-N,N-dimethylaminophenyl)-azo-imidazole chloride and small amounts of 1,3-dimethyl-2-(4′-N,N-dimethylaminophenyl)-azo-imidazole methylsulfate, was incorporated into a crosslink network formed from the reaction of cellulose diacetate with trimethylol melamine or hexamethylol melamine. The poled and cured NLO materials exhibited an electro-optic coefficient (r 13) of 1.03 or 1.42 pm/V, respectively, at the laser wavelength 1550 nm and a modulation frequency of 12.7 kHz; the r 13 values decreased to 97% or 86.6%, respectively, of the initial values after 4 days. The laser transmission loss was 0.58 or 0.6 dB, respectively. The crosslinked materials showed better temporal stability than the material of the host/guest system with a doped cationic chromophore. The results of Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, dielectric relaxation and thermogravimetry analyses proved the formation of a crosslink structure, and the degree of dielectric relaxation was shown to became higher if a crosslinker of too high functionality was used.  相似文献

A series of organically modified sol–gel films with various acceptor groups were prepared and characterized. All the chromophores exhibit much larger microscopic optical nonlinearity compared with the classical chromophore DR1 in solvatochromic measurement. Using in situ second harmonic generation (SHG) technique, the optimal poling temperatures (T opt) for sol–gel films were obtained. The second harmonic coefficients (d 33) of hybrid films at the wavelength of 1,064 nm were in the range of 50.1–70.3 pm/V after corona poling under their T opt. The NLO stabilities of these poled films were also investigated by tracing the d 33 value as a function of temperature and time. One of the hybrid films, which was prepared from chromophore 2,4-dinitro-4′-(N,N-dihydroxyethyl) aminoazobenzene exhibited a combination of large optical nonlinearity and high NLO stability. Furthermore, the effects of molecular structure on the NLO property and thermal stability of the hybrid films were also discussed.  相似文献

报道了一种通过旋涂制备NLO聚合物多层膜的方法.紫外-可见吸收光谱及膜的厚度表征说明,在所得多层膜的结构中,聚合物单层膜的厚度可以较好地控制在100~200nm之间,所得含有5个双层的NLO多层膜(厚度1.6μm)具有良好的结构均一性,光学显微镜下没有观察到明显的结构缺陷.与单层具有较大厚度的NLO聚合物薄膜(如2~4μm)相比,所得聚合物多层膜可以允许掺杂更多的发色团而不发生相分离.  相似文献

In order to obtain polymers having high second order nonlinear optical (NLO) response, various novel polymers that contain polar dye molecules in side chains and diacetylenic groups in the main chains were synthesized, and their second order NLO properties were studied. Some of these polymers consisting of para-benzoate and para-cinnamate main chains, showed extremely high NLO coefficients, d33 of 200 - 350 pm/V, and the corresponding meta polymers showed much inferior NLO coefficients. The polymers having aliphatic main chains had very little NLO response probably because of their low glass transition temperatures and flexibility of main chains. The high SHG responses of these polymers are attributed to their facile orientation of both chromophores and main chains. In the case of para-polymers, the main chain orientation of alkoxybenzoate and cinnamate along the chromophore is thought to be a reason for their high NLO coefficients.  相似文献

A simple and generally applicable new synthetic method to prepare second‐order nonlinear optical (NLO) polyimides has been developed. In this approach, side‐chain‐substituted polyimides were synthesized via isocyanato‐terminated prepolymers prepared directly from NLO chromophore‐containing diols Disperse Red 19. Using this technique, the tedious synthesis of the classical diamine monomers and harsh imidization process associated with polyamic acid prepolymers are avoided. The resulting polymers possessed good solubility and high glass‐transition (171–211 °C) and thermal‐decomposition temperatures. The polymers also exhibited excellent film‐forming properties, and good optical‐quality films were easily obtained by spin coating. The second‐order NLO activities of the polymer films were also studied, and several factors that might determine the growth of the second‐order NLO activity were proposed. In this study,two new dendronized nonlinear optical(NLO)polymers were synthesized with high FTC chromophore loading density by introduction of high generation chromophore dendrons on the side chains.Due to their suitable molecular weights,both of them possessed good solubility in common solvents.They also inherited the advantages of dendrimers(large NLO coefficient),especially for PG2 whose NLO coefficient d33 value was as high as 282 pm·V^–1.Also,PG2 had a good temporal stability with 80%of its maximum value being retained at the temperature as high as 129℃.  相似文献

The novel fluoronitroaryl azo diaminobenzene chromophores for potential NLO applications were synthesized and the effects of the position of the fluorine group on the properties of the chromophores were investigated. These chromophores exhibit high decomposition temperatures whilst keeping molecular hyperpolarizabilities similar to those of the non-fluorinated analogues. The chromophore 2,4-diamino-4′-fluoro-3′-nitroazobenzene (2R-4F-3N-DIAMINE) shows a significant UV blue shift and a combination of good transparency, high thermal stability and nonlinearity in comparison with 2,4-diamino-2′-fluoro-5′-nitroazobenzene (2R-2F-5N-DIAMINE) and its non-fluorinated analogue 2,4-diamino-3′-nitroazobenzene (2R-3N-DIAMINE).  相似文献

Through the combination of the divergent and convergent approaches, coupled with the utilization of the powerful Sharpless “click‐chemistry” reaction, two series of sulfonyl‐based high‐generation NLO dendrimers were conveniently prepared with high purity and in satisfactory yields. Thanks to the perfect three‐dimensional (3D) spatial isolation from the highly branched structure and the isolation effect of the exterior benzene moieties and the interior triazole rings, these dendrimers exhibited large second harmonic generation coefficient (d33) values up to 181 pm V?1, which, to the best of our knowledge, is the highest value so far for polymers containing sulfonyl‐based chromophore moieties. Meanwhile, compared with the nitro‐chromophore‐based analogues, their optical transparency and NLO stability were improved in a large degree, due to the lower dipole moment (μ) and the special main‐chain structure of sulfonyl‐based chromophore in these dendrimers.  相似文献

通过Wittig反应和Vilsmeier反应合成了一种以双呋喃为共轭桥, 2,2,3-三甲基-4-氰基-5-二氰基亚甲基-2,5-二氢呋喃(TCF)为受体, 并以二甲胺基为给体的有机非线性生色团分子MF3C, 利用红外光谱、 1H NMR和元素分析对其结构进行了表征. 热重分析结果表明, 该分子的热分解温度达228℃; 利用溶致变色法对该生色团分子的二阶非线性品质参数μgβ进行了计算, 在1064 nm波长下MF3C的μgβ值达到5.9×10-44 esu. 可见, 该生色团兼具较好的热稳定性和较大的超极化率.  相似文献

Thermally stable poly(α-methyl styrene-co-maleimide) (MSMI) and poly(α-methyl styrene-co-4-carboxyphenyl maleimide) (MSCM) substrate polymers were obtained readily by free radical polymerization of comonomers. Introduction of a DR1 chromophore to the maleimide units of MSMI substrate polymer by the Mitsunobu reaction was dependent on the reaction solvent. The degree of substitution of DR1 into the MSMI polymer was bound to be 91.1 mol % and 0.4 mol % by UV spectrometers in the THF and DMF solvent, respectively. DR1 chromophore was, however, substituted in the MSCM polymer at 33.0 mol % by Mitsunobu reaction in the THF solvent. Both substrate and NLO polymer exhibited high thermal stability due to the incorporation of maleimide units in the polymer chain. The glass transition temperature (Tg) and initial decomposition temperature (Ti) of the NLO polymer were in the range of Tg = 185°C and Ti = 310–345°C. The electro-optic coefficient (r33) of NLO polymer was determined with an experimental setup capable of the real-time measurement while varying both the poling field and temperature. The NLO polymer MSMI-THF had a higher r33 value than MSCM-DR due to an increased degree of substitution of DR1 chromophore. A stable nonlinear optical (NLO) film containing “T” type alkoxysilane dye was prepared by sol–gel technology. This crosslinked “T” type alkoxysilane dye was synthesized and fully characterized by FTIR, UV–Vis spectra, and 1H‐NMR. Followed by hydrolysis and copolymerization processes of the alkoxysilane with γ‐glycidoxypropyl trimethoxysilane (KH560) and tetraethoxysilane (TEOS), high quality inorganic–organic hybrid second‐order NLO films were obtained by spin coating. The “T” type structure of the alkoxysilane was found to be effective for improving the temporal stability of the optical nonlinearity due to the reduction in the relaxation of the chromophore in the film materials. We utilized the metathesis reaction to synthesize a new type of multifunctional polymer that contains a conjugated backbone and a second-order NLO chromophore as a pendant group. The 1,6-heptadiyne derivatives bearing NLO chromophores were easily polymerized by using a metathesis catalyst to give corresponding polymers with large optical nonlinearities. Molecular structural characterizations for the resulting polymers were achieved by 1H- and 13C-NMR, FTIR, and UV-visible spectroscopies. Soluble polymers were obtained up to 72 mol % of chromophore monomer portion in the copolymer. These amorphous polymers exhibited good film-forming abilities and thermal stability. The electro-optic coefficient, r33, of the poled polymer films was in the range of 0.5–10.1 pm/V, and the nonresonant values of the third-order NLO coefficient, χ(3) was found to be about 10−11 esu. © 1996 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

Efficient noncentrosymmetric arrangement of nonlinear optical (NLO) chromophores with high first-order hyperpolarizability (beta) for increased electro-optical (EO) efficiency has proven challenging as strong dipolar interactions between the chromophores encourage antiparallel alignment, attenuating the macroscopic EO effect. This work explores a novel approach to simultaneously achieve large beta values while providing an adjustable dipole moment by linking a strong neutral-ground-state (NGS) NLO chromophore with positive beta to a zwitterionic (ZWI) chromophore with negative beta in an antiparallel fashion. It is proposed that the overall beta of such a structure will be the sum of the absolute values of the two types of chromophores while the dipole moment will be the difference. Molecules 1-3 were synthesized to test the feasibility of this approach. Molecular dynamics calculations and NMR data supported that the NGS chromophore component and the ZWI chromophore component self-assemble to an antiparallel conformation in chloroform. Calculations showed that the dipole moment of 1 is close to the difference of the two component chromophores. Hyper-Rayleigh scattering (HRS) studies confirmed that the first hyperpolarizability of 1 is close to the sum of the two component chromophores. These results support the idea that an antiparallel-aligned neutral-ground-state chromophore and a zwitterionic chromophore can simultaneously achieve an increase in beta and a decrease of the dipole moment.  相似文献

A novel self-assembling crosslinking second harmonic generation nonlinear optical (SHG/NLO) film with high SHG coefficient (2×10-7 e.s,u.by IR dichroism) was prepared by morecular design and "in-situ poling and sol-gel process".The content of the NLO chromophore (S)-(-)-1-(4)-mtrophenyl-2-pyrrolidinemethanol (NPP) is as high as 50 mol% since NPP molecules probably disperse in the film at a molecular level The film is rigid,uni form and transparent.This designed clathrate supermolecular structure was poved by IR,atomic force microseopv (AFM) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) detection.The title film exhibits a long-term temporal stability with 95% of the initial value of SHG coefficient maintained even after 20 d at 65℃(by UV spectroscopy)  相似文献

A new approach aimed at the modeling of the nonlinear optical (NLO) response of a dipole chromophore incorporated into a locally anisotropic, deformable, polarizable polymer matrix is suggested. The general continuum methodology is used with a specific cavity ansatz being employed; the cavity is chosen to be conformal to the characteristic ellipsoid of the generalized permittivity tensor of the polymer medium. The suggested ansatz allows the electrostatic boundary value problem to be solved analytically, and the local field experienced by the chromophore in the polymer electret to be found. Four analytically solvable models, which correspond to two singular and two nonsingular models, are considered; in two of them the chromophore is characterized by singular dipole and quadrupole moments; the other two use the approximation of the electric moment of the chromophore with that of the polarized ellipsoid. The relation between the macroscopic polymer properties and the microscopic characteristics of the NLO chromophore is established. The compliance of the obtained formulas for the local field with those of the classical Onsager approach is analyzed, and their specific features are considered.  相似文献

A series of all organic nonlinear optical (NLO) sol-gel materials based on melamines and an azobenzene dye (Disperse Orange 3; DO3) have been investigated. Different contents of DO3 were covalently bonded with the melamine-based organic network via condensation of amino and methylol groups. The optically clear samples exhibited second-order optical nonlinearity (second-harmonic coefficient d33) = 35.4 and 11.5 pm/V at 1064 and 1542 nm, respectively) after poling and curing at 220°C for 1 h. Thermal behavior of these organic NLO sol-gel systems was studied by temperature-dependent dielectric relaxation. The results indicate that the incorporation of rigid NLO-active chromophore into the melamine-based matrix leads to high rigidity and dense packing of the organic network. Subsequently, higher glass transition temperatures were obtained for the organic NLO sol-gel material with higher DO3 content. The influence of composition on the temporal stability at 100°C was also investigated. Temporal stability at 100°C was studied as a function of system composition. © 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
