Based on the homotopy analysis method (HAM), a general analytical approach for obtaining approximate series solutions to nonlinear two-point boundary value problems in finite domains is proposed. To demonstrate its effectiveness, this approach is applied to solve three nonlinear problems, and the analytical solutions obtained are more accurate than the numerical solutions obtained via the shooting method and the sinc-Galerkin method.  相似文献

A novel approach is presented in this paper for approximate solution of parameterized unperturbed and singularly perturbed two-point boundary value problems. The problem is first separated into a simultaneous system regarding the unknown function and the parameter, and then a methodology based on the powerful homotopy analysis technique is proposed for the approximate analytic series solutions, whose convergence is guaranteed by optimally chosen convergence control parameters via square residual error. A convergence theorem is also provided. Several nonlinear problems are treated to validate the applicability, efficiency and accuracy of the method. Vicinity of the boundary layer is shown to be adequately treated and satisfactorily resolved by the method. Advantages of the method over the recently proposed conventional finite-difference or Runga–Kutta methods are also discussed.  相似文献

Summary. A transformation of vectorial sequences is given, analogous to the Shank's transform in the scalar case. This is possible because of the link with the Vector Pad\'e approximants defined for a power series, with vectorial coefficients. Film blowing is a highly complex industrial process used to manufacture thin sheets of polymer. Models that describe this process are highly nonlinear and numerical instabilities often occur when solving the highly nonlinear differential equations. This paper investigates the structure of typical solutions that arise when the polymer is assumed to be described by a power-law fluid operating under nonisothermal conditions. We consider both a shear-thinning and shear-thickening polymer and use a balance of orders argument to identify the structure of a region of rapid expansion in the radial profile of the film. A mixture of heuristic and singular perturbation techniques is applied to obtain a closed form approximate expression for the radial profile of the film which displays the interior layer phenomenon. We demonstrate how approximate solutions to the highly nonlinear two-point boundary value problem describing this process may be constructed using this expression as an initial estimate in an iterative scheme. Numerical solutions for the radial temperature, velocity and thickness profiles of the film are subsequently obtained by iteration.  相似文献

In this paper, an iterative algorithm for solving singular nonlinear two-point boundary value problems is formulated. This method is basically a collocation method for nonlinear second-order two-point boundary value problems with singularities at either one or both of the boundary points. It is proved that the iterative algorithm converges to a smooth approximate solution of the BVP provided the boundary value problem is well posed and the algorithm is applied appropriately. Error estimates for uniform partitions are also investigated. It has been shown that, for sufficiently smooth solutions, the method produces order h4 approximations. Numerical examples are provided to show the effectiveness of the algorithm.  相似文献

In this paper, we use homotopy analysis method (HAM) to solve two‐point nonlinear boundary value problems that have at least one solution. The new approach provides the solution in the form of a rapidly convergent series with easily computable components using symbolic computation software. The scheme shows importance of choice of convergence‐control parameter ? to guarantee the convergence of the solutions of nonlinear differential equations. This scheme is tested on three nonlinear exactly solvable differential equations. Two of the examples are practical in science and engineering. 研究了可渗透壁面上Falkner-Skan磁流体动力学(MHD)边界层流动问题.利用结合了微分变换法(DTM)和Padé近似的DTM-Padé方法,得到了边界层问题的近似解和壁摩擦因数值.通过建立一个迭代程序,边界层问题的近似解被表示为幂级数的形式,而且以图和表形式对不同参数下的近似解结果与打靶法得到的数值结果进行了对比,近似解和数值解结果高度吻合,从而验证了所得问题近似解和结论的可靠性和有效性.并且,对求得的边界层问题近似解结果进行了讨论,分析了不同物理参数对边界层流动的影响.  相似文献

This paper presents approximate analytical solutions for systems of fractional differential equations using the differential transform method. The fractional derivatives are described in the Caputo sense. The application of differential transform method, developed for differential equations of integer order, is extended to derive approximate analytical solutions of systems of fractional differential equations. The solutions of our model equations are calculated in the form of convergent series with easily computable components. Some examples are solved as illustrations, using symbolic computation. The numerical results show that the approach is easy to implement and accurate when applied to systems of fractional differential equations. The method introduces a promising tool for solving many linear and nonlinear fractional differential equations.  相似文献

We consider nonlinear control problems of transformation of a substance from one state into another given some boundary data. Our goal is to recover the second order differential operators with three time-independent coefficients. Some constructive analytical methods of study are proposed that use, in particular, the Burman-Lagrange inversion formulas for analytic functions. Some formulas are given for solving the control problems in a few particular cases of the initialboundary data. Alongside the theoretical study, we carry out, on the basis of a logical system of symbolic computation, the practical implementation of the algorithms and programs for automatic generation of the formulas that give the solutions of control problems.  相似文献

In this article, we implement a relatively new numerical technique, Adomian’s decomposition method for solving the linear Helmholtz partial differential equations. The method in applied mathematics can be an effective procedure to obtain for the analytic and approximate solutions. A new approach to a linear or nonlinear problems is particularly valuable as a tool for Scientists and Applied Mathematicians, because it provides immediate and visible symbolic terms of analytic solution as well as its numerical approximate solution to both linear and nonlinear problems without linearization [Solving Frontier Problems of Physics: The Decomposition Method, Kluwer Academic Publishers, Boston, 1994; J. Math. Anal. Appl. 35 (1988) 501]. It does also not require discretization and consequently massive computation. In this scheme the solution is performed in the form of a convergent power series with easily computable components. This paper will present a numerical comparison with the Adomian decomposition and a conventional finite-difference method. The numerical results demonstrate that the new method is quite accurate and readily implemented.  相似文献

In this paper, a fast‐converging recursive scheme is presented to approximate the solution of a class of derivative dependent doubly singular boundary value problems (DDSBVP). First, the original problem is reformulated as an equivalent integral equation. The resulting integral equation is then efficiently tackled by an improved homotopy analysis method (IHAM). This method contains a parameter, which greatly accelerates the convergence of the series solution. The convergence of the method is carried out. To illustrate the efficiency and accuracy of the proposed recursive approach, we consider three nonlinear examples, including one physical model problem, which describes stress distribution on a rotationally shallow membrane cap. Results show that our method excels over the existing methods.  相似文献

Summary For certain nonlinear two-point boundary value problems of the fourth order an estimation theory is developed which yields simultaneous estimates of the solution and its second derivative. Methods for computing numerical error bounds for approximate solutions are described and tested. The theory provides also uniqueness and existence statements. The results can be applied to many problems for which a corresponding theory on two-sided bounds is not suitable.  相似文献

We consider equations with nonlinear terms representable by power series in the variable and functionals in integral form. The equation depends on a small exponentially limitperiodic perturbation, i.e., on a function that exponentially tends to a periodic function as the independent variable increases. In the Lyapunov critical case of one zero root, we prove the existence of a family of exponentially limit-periodic solutions of the equation in the form of power series in the small parameter and arbitrary initial values of the noncritical variables.  相似文献

In this work, an effective technique for solving a class of singular two point boundary value problems is proposed. This technique is based on the Adomian decomposition method (ADM) and Green’s function. The technique relies on constructing Green’s function before establishing the recursive scheme for the solution components. In contrast to the existing recursive schemes based on ADM, the proposed recursive scheme avoids solving a sequence of nonlinear algebraic or transcendental equations for the undetermined coefficients. The approximate solution is obtained in the form of series with easily calculable components. For the completeness, the convergence and error analysis of the proposed scheme is supplemented. Moreover, the numerical examples are included to demonstrate the accuracy, applicability, and generality of the proposed scheme. The results reveal that the method is very effective, straightforward, and simple.  相似文献

对幂率流体层流平板边界层的解析解进行了研究.对该问题提供了Adomian分解方法并且推导出了问题的级数形式的近似解析解,该近似解析解具有快速收敛性和易于计算性.对不同的幂率给出了方程的近似解析解和相应的壁摩擦因数近似值,最后对近似解所推出结果和所得壁摩擦因数与文献中的数值解进行了比较验证,证实了该文提出的解析近似方法的准确性和可靠性,说明了该近似解能够应用于提供所研究问题的壁摩擦因数.  相似文献

Recently McCabe and Murphy have considered the two-point Padé approximants to a function for which (formal) power series expansions at the origin and at infinity are given. In this paper these approximations are slightly modified and determinant representations for them are given. The existence of various three-term recursion relations for the numerators and denominators of these approximants is shown. Based on these, a new continued fraction representation for these approximants is obtained and also an efficient recursive method is proposed for the determination of the coefficients of all the approximants that obtain from a given number of terms of the power series.  相似文献
