A regular simple geodesic loop on a tetrahedron is a simple geodesic loop which does not pass through any vertex of the tetrahedron. It is evident that such loops meet each face of the tetrahedron. Among these loops, the minimal loops are those which meet each face exactly once. Necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of minimal loops are obtained. These conditions fall naturally into two categories, conditions in the first category being called coherence conditions and conditions in the second category being called separation conditions. It is shown that for the existence of three distinct minimal loops through any point on the face of a tetrahedron it is necessary and sufficient that the tetrahedron be isosceles, which, in turn, amounts to the tetrahedron satisfying three coherence conditions. All other regular simple geodesic loops on an isosceles tetrahedron are then classified. Finally, coherence conditions for the existence of similar loops on an arbitrary tetrahedron are found.  相似文献

In this paper we are concerned with the initial boundary value problem for the micropolar fluid system in nonsmooth domains with mixed boundary conditions. The considered boundary conditions are of two types: Navier’s slip conditions on solid surfaces and Neumann-type boundary conditions on free surfaces. The Dirichlet boundary condition for the microrotation of the fluid is commonly used in practice. However, the well-posedness of problems with different types of boundary conditions for microrotation are completely unexplored. The present paper is devoted to the proof of the existence, regularity and uniqueness of the solution in distribution spaces.  相似文献

We deal with the differential conditions for local optimality. The conditions that we derive for inequality constrained problems do not require constraint qualifications and are the broadest conditions based on only first-order and second-order derivatives. We examine the question on solvability in the Sobolev spaces of coefficient inverse problems for parabolic systems of equations with the overdetermination conditions on a collection of surfaces. Under certain conditions on the geometry of the domain and the boundary operators, the local solvability of the problem is proven. It is demonstrated that the conditions on the boundary operators are sharp and that, in some cases, the problem is not unconditionally solvable.  相似文献

Under study are the inverse problems of determining the right-hand side of a particular form and the solution for elliptic systems, including a series of elasticity systems. (On the boundary of the domain the solution satisfies either the Dirichlet conditions or mixed Dirichlet-Neumann conditions.) We assume that on a system of planes the normal derivatives of the solution can have discontinuities of the first kind. The conjugating boundary conditions on the discontinuity surface are analogous to the continuity conditions for the fields of displacements and stresses for a horizontally laminated medium. The overdetermination conditions are integral (the average of the solution over some domain is specified) or local (the values of the solution on some lines are specified). We study the solvability conditions for these problems and their Fredholm property.  相似文献

Sensitive dependence on initial conditions is widely understood as being the central idea of chaos. We first give sufficient conditions (both topological and ergodic) on an endomorphism to ensure the sensitivity property. Then, a strong sensitivity concept is introduced. Sufficient conditions on a transformation implying strong sensitivity are given. We also provide bounds for the strong sensitivity constant.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with sensitive dependence on initial conditions for maps and semi-flows. Several sufficient conditions for sensitive dependence are given, where it is not required that maps and semi-flows are continuous and spaces are compact. In particular, it is shown that if a measure-preserving map (resp. a measure-preserving semi-flow) on a metric probability space with a fully supported measure is topologically strongly ergodic, then it has sensitive dependence. These results relax and extend the conditions of some existing results.  相似文献

References 1–4 develop second-order sufficient conditions for local minima of optimal control problems with state and control constraints. These second-order conditions tighten the gap between necessary and sufficient conditions by evaluating a positive-definiteness criterion on the tangent space of the active constraints. The purpose of this paper is twofold. First, we extend the methods in Refs. 3, 4 and include general boundary conditions. Then, we relate the approach to the two-norm approach developed in Ref. 5. A direct sufficiency criterion is based on a quadratic function that satisfies a Hamilton-Jacobi inequality. A specific form of such a function is obtained by applying the second-order sufficient conditions to a parametric optimization problem. The resulting second-order positive-definiteness conditions can be verified by solving Riccati equations.The authors wish to thank K. Malanowski for helpful discussions.  相似文献

Abstract In this paper, a new kind of discrete non-reflecting boundary conditions is developed.It can be usedfor a variety of wave equations such as the acoustic wave equation, the isotropic and anisotropic elastic waveequations and the equations for wave propagation in multi-phase media and so on.In this kind of boundaryconditions,the composition of all artifical reflected waves,but not the individual reflected ones,is consideredand eliminated.Thus, it has a uniform formula for different wave equations.The velocity C_A of the composedreflected wave is determined in the way to make the reflection coefficients minimal,the value of which depends onequations.In this psper,the construction of the boundary conditions illustrated and C_A is found,numericalresults are presented to illustrate the effectiveness of the boundary conditions.  相似文献

The problem of incidence of an acoustic wave on the interface between media with impedance interface conditions is considered. An approximate method is proposed for calculating the result of diffraction under such conditions. The method is implemented as a computer program, and the result is compared with the analytical solution for the impedance conditions and with the calculations by a program for the contact boundary conditions. Good accuracy of the method and high computation speed are demonstrated, which allow one to apply the proposed approximate method to solving both direct and inverse problems of acoustics.  相似文献

Features of the formulation and numerical implementation of wall boundary conditions in turbulent flow computations on unstructured meshes are discussed. A method is proposed for implementing weak wall boundary conditions for a finite-volume discretization of the Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations on unstructured meshes. The capabilities of the approach are demonstrated in several gasdynamic simulations in comparison with the method of near-wall functions. The influence of the near-wall resolution on the accuracy of the computations is analyzed, and the grid dependence of the solution is compared in the case of the near-wall function method and weak boundary conditions.  相似文献

Due to meteorological conditions certain airports in some regions have to be frequently closed during winter months. An immediate consequence is an increase in the number of cancelled flights, which is a disruption of airline schedules on the overall transportation network. In this paper a research concerning the reliability of airline scheduling as related to meteorological conditions is conducted and an indicator for quantifying the adaptability of airline schedules to meteorological conditions is proposed. A heuristic algorithm for minimizing the number of needed aircraft for given traffic volume is also presented. In case where more than one solution with the same number of engaged aircraft is possible the solution chosen is the one with the minimum number of passengers whose flights are expected to be cancelled on account of meteorological conditions. The proposed algorithm is illustrated by an appropriate numerical example.  相似文献

A nonlinear eigenvalue problem for a linear system of ordinary differential equations is examined on a semi-infinite interval. The problem is supplemented by nonlocal conditions specified by a Stieltjes integral. At infinity, the solution must be bounded. In addition to these basic conditions, the solution must satisfy certain redundant conditions, which are also nonlocal. A numerically stable method for solving such a singular overdetermined eigenvalue problem is proposed and analyzed. The essence of the method is that this overdetermined problem is replaced by an auxiliary problem consistent with all the above conditions.  相似文献

Recently, necessary conditions have been derived for fixed-time optimal control problems with state constraints, formulated in terms of a differential inclusion, under very weak hypotheses on the data. These allow the multifunction describing admissible velocities to be unbounded and possibly nonconvex valued. This paper extends the earlier necessary conditions, to allow for free end-times. A notable feature of the new free end-time necessary conditions is that they cover problems with measurably time dependent data. For such problems, standard analytical techniques for deriving free-time necessary conditions, which depend on a transformation of the time variable, no longer work. Instead, we use variational methods based on the calculus of 'essential values".  相似文献
