A solvent‐exchange approach for the preparation of solvated graphene frameworks as high‐performance anode materials for lithium‐ion batteries is reported. The mechanically strong graphene frameworks exhibit unique hierarchical solvated porous networks and can be directly used as electrodes with a significantly improved electrochemical performance compared to unsolvated graphene frameworks, including very high reversible capacities, excellent rate capabilities, and superior cycling stabilities.  相似文献

An organo‐functionalized polyoxometalate (POM)–pyrene hybrid (Py‐Anderson) has been used for noncovalent functionalization of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) to give a Py‐Anderson‐CNT nanocomposite through π–π interactions. The as‐synthesized nanocomposite was used as the anode material for lithium‐ion batteries, and shows higher discharge capacities and better rate capacity and cycling stability than the individual components. When the current density was 0.5 mA cm?2, the nanocomposite exhibited an initial discharge capacity of 1898.5 mA h g?1 and a high discharge capacity of 665.3 mA h g?1 for up to 100 cycles. AC impedance spectroscopy provides insight into the electrochemical properties and the charge‐transfer mechanism of the Py‐Anderson‐CNTs electrode.  相似文献

Most electrolytes currently used in Li‐ion batteries contain halogens, which are toxic. In the search for halogen‐free electrolytes, we studied the electronic structure of the current electrolytes using first‐principles theory. The results showed that all current electrolytes are based on superhalogens, i.e., the vertical electron detachment energies of the moieties that make up the negative ions are larger than those of any halogen atom. Realizing that several superhalogens exist that do not contain a single halogen atom, we studied their potential as effective electrolytes by calculating not only the energy needed to remove a Li+ ion but also their affinity towards H2O. Several halogen‐free electrolytes are identified among which Li(CB11H12) is shown to have the greatest potential.  相似文献

Porous membranes of poly(vinylidene fluoride‐trifluoroethylene) with different contents of montmorillonite (MMT) particles were prepared. The filler content does not affect the porous morphology but leads to an increase in the average pore size, porosity and electrolyte uptake up to 16 μm, 85 % and 325 %, respectively, for a membrane with 16 wt% of MMT particles. The mechanical properties, ionic conductivity and its temperature stability are improved by the presence of clays. The electrochemical stability reveals a stable operation window up to 5 V. The overall characteristics of the membranes for battery separators are optimized for the 4 wt% MMT filler content.  相似文献

Herein, an approach is reported to prepare porous a carbon/Ge (C/Ge) hybrid. In this hybrid, Ge nanoparticles are closely embedded in a highly conductive and flexible carbon matrix. Such a hybrid features a high surface area (128.0 m2 g?1) and a hierarchical micropore–mesopore structure. When used as an anode material in lithium‐ion batteries (LIBs), the as‐prepared hybrid [C/Ge (60.37 %)] exhibits an improved lithium storage performance with regard to its capacity and rate capability compared to its counterparts. More specifically, it can maintain a specific capacity as high as 906 mAh g?1 at a high current density of 0.6 A g?1 after 50 cycles. The excellent lithium storage performance of the C/Ge (60.37 %) sample can be attributed to synergetic effects between the carbon matrix and Ge nanoparticles. The method we adopted is simple and effective, and can be extended to fabricate other nanomaterials.  相似文献

Lithium‐ion batteries (LIBs) represent the state‐of‐the‐art technology in rechargeable energy‐storage devices and they currently occupy the prime position in the marketplace for powering an increasingly diverse range of applications. However, the fast development of these applications has led to increasing demands being placed on advanced LIBs in terms of higher energy/power densities and longer life cycles. For LIBs to meet these requirements, researchers have focused on active electrode materials, owing to their crucial roles in the electrochemical performance of batteries. For anode materials, compounds based on Group IVA (Si, Ge, and Sn) elements represent one of the directions in the development of high‐capacity anodes. Although these compounds have many significant advantages when used as anode materials for LIBs, there are still some critical problems to be solved before they can meet the high requirements for practical applications. In this Focus Review, we summarize a series of rational designs for Group IVA‐based anode materials, in terms of their chemical compositions and structures, that could address these problems, that is, huge volume variations during cycling, unstable surfaces/interfaces, and invalidation of transport pathways for electrons upon cycling. These designs should at least include one of the following structural benefits: 1) Contain a sufficient number of voids to accommodate the volume variations during cycling; 2) adopt a “plum‐pudding”‐like structure to limit the volume variations during cycling; 3) facilitate an efficient and permanent transport pathway for electrons and lithium ions; or 4) show stable surfaces/interfaces to stabilize the in situ formed SEI layers.  相似文献

The increasing use of lithium‐ion batteries (LIBs) in high‐power applications requires improvement of their high‐temperature electrochemical performance, including their cyclability and rate capability. Spinel lithium manganese oxide (LiMn2O4) is a promising cathode material because of its high stability and abundance. However, it exhibits poor cycling performance at high temperatures owing to Mn dissolution. Herein we show that when stoichiometric lithium manganese oxide is coated with highly doped spinels, the resulting epitaxial coating has a hierarchical atomic structure consisting of cubic‐spinel, tetragonal‐spinel, and layered structures, and no interfacial phase is formed. In a practical application of the coating to doped spinel, the material retained 90 % of its capacity after 800 cycles at 60 °C. Thus, the formation of an epitaxial coating with a hierarchical atomic structure could enhance the electrochemical performance of LIB cathode materials while preventing large losses in capacity.  相似文献

Borocarbonitrides (BxCyNz) with a graphene‐like structure exhibit a remarkable high lithium cyclability and current rate capability. The electrochemical performance of the BxCyNz materials, synthesized by using a simple solid‐state synthesis route based on urea, was strongly dependent on the composition and surface area. Among the three compositions studied, the carbon‐rich compound B0.15C0.73N0.12 with the highest surface area showed an exceptional stability (over 100 cycles) and rate capability over widely varying current density values (0.05–1 A g?1). B0.15C0.73N0.12 has a very high specific capacity of 710 mA h g?1 at 0.05 A g?1. With the inclusion of a suitable additive in the electrolyte, the specific capacity improved drastically, recording an impressive value of nearly 900 mA h g?1 at 0.05 A g?1. It is believed that the solid–electrolyte interphase (SEI) layer at the interface of BxCyNz and electrolyte also plays a crucial role in the performance of the BxCyNz .  相似文献

Blended‐salt electrolytes showing synergistic effects have been formulated by simply mixing several lithium salts in an electrolyte. In the burgeoning field of next‐generation lithium batteries, blended‐salt electrolytes have enabled great progress to be made. In this Review, the development of such blended‐salt electrolytes is examined in detail. The reasons for formulating blended‐salt electrolytes for lithium batteries include improvement of thermal stability (safety), inhibition of aluminum‐foil corrosion of the cathode current collector, enhancement of performance over a wide temperature range (or at a high or low temperature), formation of favorable interfacial layers on both electrodes, protection of the lithium metal anode, and attainment of high ionic conductivity. Herein, we highlight key scientific issues related to the formulation of blended‐salt electrolytes for lithium batteries.  相似文献

Nanometer‐sized flakes of MnV2O6 were synthesized by a hydrothermal method. No surfactant, expensive metal salt, or alkali reagent was used. These MnV2O6 nanoflakes present a high discharge capacity of 768 mA h g?1 at 200 mA g?1, good rate capacity, and excellent cycling stability. Further investigation demonstrates that the nanoflake structure and the specific crystal structure make the prepared MnV2O6 a suitable material for lithium‐ion batteries.  相似文献

High energy‐density lithium‐ion batteries are in demand for portable electronic devices and electrical vehicles. Since the energy density of the batteries relies heavily on the cathode material used, major research efforts have been made to develop alternative cathode materials with a higher degree of lithium utilization and specific energy density. In particular, layered, Ni‐rich, lithium transition‐metal oxides can deliver higher capacity at lower cost than the conventional LiCoO2. However, for these Ni‐rich compounds there are still several problems associated with their cycle life, thermal stability, and safety. Herein the performance enhancement of Ni‐rich cathode materials through structure tuning or interface engineering is summarized. The underlying mechanisms and remaining challenges will also be discussed.  相似文献
