Complexes of UO2 2+, Ce3+ and Nd3+ (M) with acetohydroxamic acid (AHA or L) in an aqueous solution have been investigated by the pH-spectral titration method at 25 °C in an aqueous medium of 1.0 M NaClO4 ionic strength. Cerium(III) and neodymium(III) form [ML]2+, [ML2]+, [ML3] complexes with acetohydroxamic acid, while in case of UO2 2+ form [UO2L]+, [UO2L2] complexes with acetohydroxamic acid. Data processing with SQUAD program calculates the best values for the stability constants from pH-spectrophotometric titration data. The protonation constant obtained was pK1 = 9.15 ± 0.04 at 25 °C. The stability constants for acetohydroxamic acid with UO2 2+, Ce3+ and Nd3+ were β1 = 7.22 ± 0.011, β2 = 14.89 ± 0.018 for UO2 2+ and β1 = 5.05 ± 0.062, β2 = 10.60 ± 0.076, β3 = 16.23 ± 0.088 for Ce3+ and β1 = 5.90 ± 0.028, β2 = 12.22 ± 0.038, β3 = 18.58 ± 0.042 for Nd3+, respectively.  相似文献

An attempt has been made in the present work to investigate the role of anion for the uptake of Am(III)/Eu(III)/U(VI) by extraction chromatography (EXC) resin incorporating tetra-n-octyl-3-oxapentanediamide, commonly referred to as tetra-octyl diglycolamide (TODGA). In contrast to the nitric acid, perchloric acid medium favors extraction of trivalent metal ions even at low acidity (pH 2) and is almost insensitive to the acidity up to 5 M. Exceptionally large distribution coefficients (105–106) in the wide range of perchlorate concentration (10?2–5 M) is quite unusual and is by far the largest reported in the literature for Am(III)/Eu(III). Thermodynamic data suggests the possibility of inner sphere/cation exchange mechanism involving TODGA aggregates at higher acidity but outer sphere/cation exchange mechanism at low acidity for Eu(III). There is a possibility of employing TODGA based EXC resin for the remediation of liquid waste (contaminated with long lived transuranics like 241/243Am and 245Cm) in the wide range of acidity.  相似文献

The esterification reaction of palmitic acid with epichlorohydrin catalyzed by an anionic macroporous resin was studied. Purolite A-500 resin proved to be a very effective catalyst in the synthesis of 3-chloro-2-hydroxypropyl palmitate. The effects of certain parameters such as speed of agitation, catalyst particle size, catalyst loading, temperature, initial molar ratio between reactants on the rate of reaction were studied. It was found that the overall rate is intrinsically kinetically controlled. The structure of synthesized ester was confirmed by FTIR and 1H NMR analyses.   相似文献

Direct and indirect potentiometric, bipotentiometric and biamperometric titrations with a standard iron(II) solution are described for some inorganic compounds in alkaline media containing hexitols (mannitol, dulcitol and sorbitol). The optimal conditions for titrations based on the Cr(VI) → Cr(III), Mn(IV) → Mn(III) → Mn(II), V(V) → V(IV), Co(III) → Co(II) and U(VI) → U(IV) systems are discussed. Of the hexitols studied, sorbitol has the greatest effect on the value of the redox potential of the Fe(III)/Fe(II) system; the Ef° value is about —1.10 V vs. SCE.  相似文献

In order to change the ion-exchange selectivity of anion-exchange resin, the surface of a gel-type anion exchange resin was modified with anionic polyelectrolyte, polystyrenesulfonic acid. Using this modified resin, the ion-exchange rate of nitrate was little decreased, but that of sulfate was evidently decreased. It is considered that the ion-exchange reaction of the multivalent anion is suppressed by the greater electrostatic repulsive force against the modification layer than that against the monovalent anion. Thus, this modified resin may be suitable for the selective separation of monovalent anions. The influence of the modified condition on the ion-exchange rate was examined. Furthermore, this modified resin was used to separate nitrate ions from sulfate ions in the aqueous solution.  相似文献

Ion exchange studies of uranium(VI), thorium(IV), plutonium(IV) and europium(III) ions on a macroreticular cation exchange resin, Amberlyst A-15, from solutions of 30% and 5% TBP—Shell Sol-T have been carried out. The metal ions were extracted into TBP Shell Sol-T phase from 8M NH4NO3 at different nitric acid concentrations. Ion exchange distribution ratios as a function of organic phase acidity of 30% and 5% TBP have been computed. Separation factors computed from the observed Kd values are plotted as a function of organic phase acidity.  相似文献

Summary The properties and behaviour of the hydroxamic acid resin have been studied and shown to be an highly selective resin for molybdenum(VI), tungsten(VI), uranium(VI) and vanadium(V) ions. The stability constants of these metal ion complexes with the resin have been determined. The sorption and desorption characteristics of these metal ions on this resin and the methods for the separation of these metal ions from each other on a short column of such resin were also developed.

A comprehensive thermodynamic model, referred to as the Mixed-Solvent Electrolyte model, has been applied to calculate phase equilibria and chemical speciation in selected aqueous actinide systems. The solution chemistry of U(IV, VI), Np(IV, V, VI), Pu(III, IV, V, VI), Am(III), and Cm(III) has been analyzed to develop the parameters of the model. These parameters include the standard-state thermochemical properties of aqueous and solid actinide species as well as the ion interaction parameters that reflect the solution’s nonideality. The model reproduces the solubility behavior and accurately predicts the formation of competing solid phases as a function of pH (from 0 to 14 and higher), temperature (up to 573 K), partial pressure of CO2 (up to \( p_{{{\text{CO}}_{2} }} \)  = 1 bar), and concentrations of acids (to 127 mol·kg?1), bases (to 18 mol·kg?1), carbonates (to 6 mol·kg?1) and other ionic components (i.e., Na+, Ca2+, Mg2+, OH?, Cl?, \( {\text{ClO}}_{4}^{ - } \), and \( {\text{NO}}_{3}^{ - } \)). Redox effects on solubility and speciation have been incorporated into the model, as exemplified by the reductive and oxidative dissolution of Np(VI) and Pu(IV) solids, respectively. Thus, the model can be used to elucidate the phase and chemical equilibria for radionuclides in natural aquatic systems or in nuclear waste repository environments as a function of environmental conditions. Additionally, the model has been applied to systems relevant to nuclear fuel processing, in which nitric acid and nitrate salts of plutonium and uranium are present at high concentrations. The model reproduces speciation and solubility in the U(VI) + HNO3 + H2O and Pu(IV, VI) + HNO3 + H2O systems up to very high nitric acid concentrations (\( x_{{{\text{HNO}}_{3} }} \approx 0.70 \)). Furthermore, the similarities and differences in the solubility behavior of the actinides have been analyzed in terms of aqueous speciation.  相似文献

The flat sheet Raipore R1030 anion exchange membrane has been evaluated as a sample interface in an optical sensor for Cr(VI) monitoring. The R1030 is an anion exchange membrane containing quaternary ammonium groups. The Donnan dialysis (DD) that takes place has been enhanced with facilitated transport of Cr(VI) anions by using a 1,5-diphenylcarbazide (DPC) solution as stripping phase. The DPC acts as a reducing reagent for Cr(VI), and as a complexing reagent for the generated Cr(III). The Cr(III) complex is a strongly absorbing species, and this is the basis of the optical detection. The effect of chemical parameters on Cr(VI) transport has been evaluated. Experiments with UV-VIS detection have shown that the membrane R1030-DPC system exhibits features suitable for Cr(VI) optical sensing. A simplified model based on a kinetic approach is reported describing the transport mechanism of the chemically facilitated DD process.  相似文献

The kinetics of electron transfer between chromium(VI) and H3PO3, yielding chromium(III), have been investigated in HClO4 and H2SO4 media by visible spectrophotometry. The rate of reaction increased with increasing [H2SO4] and [HClO4]. A rate law based on ester formation preceding the electron transfer has been established and a possible mechanism has been proposed. The mechanism and the derived rate law are consistent with the observed kinetics. This revised version was published online in June 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

The extraction behavior of U(VI) and Th(IV) with tri-isoamyl phosphate–kerosene (TiAP–KO) from nitric acid medium was investigated in detail using the batch extraction method as a function of aqueous-phase acidity, TiAP concentration and temperature, then the thermodynamic parameters associated with the extraction were derived by the second-law method. It could be noted that the distribution ratios of U(VI) or Th(IV) increased with increasing HNO3 concentration until 6 or 5 M from 0.1 M. However, a good separation factor (D U(VI)/D Th(IV)) of 88.25 was achieved at 6 M HNO3, and the stripping of U(VI) from TiAP–KO with deionized water or diluted nitric acid was easier than that of Th(IV). The probable extracted species were deduced by log D-log c plot at different temperatures as UO2(NO3)2·(TiAP)(1–2) and Th(NO3)4·(TiAP)(2–3), respectively. Additionally, △H, △G and △S for the extraction of U(VI) and Th(IV) revealed that the extraction of U(VI) by TiAP was an exothermic process and was counteracted by entropy change, while the extraction of Th(IV) was an endothermic process and was driven by entropy change.  相似文献

U(VI) sorption from nitric media using Cyanex272 impregnated on Amberlite XAD-2 resin has been studied using batch method. The influence of different experimental parameter such as aqueous acidity, effect of time, influence of eluting agents on U(VI) uptake was evaluated. The maximum sorption capacity of 0.168?mmol?g?1 of U(VI) evaluated based upon these studies. Sorption of U(VI) follows both the Langmuir and Freundlich adsorption isotherms.  相似文献

The rates and mechanisms of the electron self-exchange between Np(V) and Np(VI) in solution have been studied with quantum chemical methods and compared with previous results for the U(V)-U(VI) pair. Both outer-sphere and inner-sphere mechanisms have been investigated, the former for the aqua ions, the latter for binuclear complexes containing hydroxide, fluoride, and carbonate as bridging ligand. Solvent effects were calculated using the Marcus equation for the outer-sphere reactions and using a nonequilibrium PCM method for the inner-sphere reactions. The nonequilibrium PCM appeared to overestimate the solvent effect for the outer-sphere reactions. The calculated rate constant for the self-exchange reaction NpO2(+)(aq) + NpO2(2+)(aq) right harpoon over left harpoon NpO2(2+)(aq) + NpO2(+)(aq), at 25 degrees C is k = 67 M(-1) s(-1), in fair agreement with the observed rates 0.0063-15 M(-1) s(-1). The differences between the Np(V)-Np(VI) and the U(V)-U(VI) pairs are minor.  相似文献

The rates and mechanisms of the electron self-exchange between U(V) and U(VI) in solution have been studied with quantum chemical methods. Both outer-sphere and inner-sphere mechanisms have been investigated; the former for the aqua ions, the latter for binuclear complexes containing hydroxide, fluoride, and carbonate as bridging ligand. The calculated rate constant for the self-exchange reaction UO(2)(+)(aq) + UO(2)(2+)(aq) <=>UO(2)(2+)(aq) + UO(2)(+)(aq), at 25 degrees C, is k = 26 M(-1) s(-1). The lower limit of the rate of electron transfer in the inner-sphere complexes is estimated to be in the range 2 x 10(4) to 4 x 10(6) M(-1) s(-1), indicating that the rate for the overall exchange reaction may be determined by the rate of formation and dissociation of the binuclear complex. The activation energy for the outer-sphere model calculated from the Marcus model is nearly the same as that obtained by a direct calculation of the precursor- and transition-state energy. A simple model with one water ligand is shown to recover 60% of the reorganization energy. This finding is important because it indicates the possibility to carry out theoretical studies of electron-transfer reactions involving M(3+) and M(4+) actinide species that have eight or nine water ligands in the first coordination sphere.  相似文献

Redox potentials: E(UO 2 2+ /UO 2 + )=60±4 mV/NHE, E(U4+/U3+)=–630±4mV/NHE measured at 25°C in acidic medium (HClO4 1M) using cyclic voltametry are in accordance with the published data. From 5°C to 55°C the variations of the potentials of these systems (measured against Ag/AgCl electrode) are linear. The entropies are then constant: [S(UO 2 2+ /UO 2 + )–S(Ag/AgCl)]/F=0±0.3 mV/°C, [S(U4+/U3+)–S(Ag/AgCl)]/F=1.5±0.3 mV/°C. From 5°C to 55°C, in carbonate medium (Na2CO3=0.2M), the Specific Ionic Interaction Theory can model the experimental results up to I=2M (Na+, ClO 4 , CO 3 2– ): E(UO2(CO3) 3 4– /UO2(CO3) 3 5– )=–778±5 mv/NHE (I=0, T=25°C, (25°C)=(UO2(CO3) 3 4– , Na+)–(UO2(CO3) 3 5– , Na+)=0.92 kg/mole, S(UO2(CO3) 3 4– /UO2(CO3) 3 5– =–1.8±0.5 mV/°C (I=0), =(Cl, Na+)=(1.14–0.007T) kg/mole. The U(VI/V) potential shift, between carbonate and acidic media, is used to calculate (at I=0,25°C):

Summary Conditional stability constants have been determined for U(IV) and U(VI) Boom Clay humic acid (BCHA) and Aldrich humic acid (AHA) complexes, under anaerobic and carbonate free conditions. The constants are needed for nuclear waste repository performance assessment purposes. The U(IV) constants were obtained by developing an approach based on the solubility product of amorphous U(OH)4. The U(VI) constants were obtained by applying the Schubert ion-exchange approach.  相似文献
