In this paper, we consider the boundary stabilization of the wave equation with variable coefficients by Riemmannian geometry method subject to a different geometric condition which is motivated by the geometric multiplier identities. Several (multiplier) identities (inequalities) which have been built for constant wave equation by Kormornik and Zuazua are generalized to the variable coefficient case by some computational techniques in Riemmannian geometry, so that the precise estimates on the exponential decay rate are derived from those inequalitities. Also, the exponential decay for the solutions of semilinear wave equation with variable coefficients is obtained under natural growth and sign assumptions on the nonlinearity. Our method is rather general and can be adapted to other evolution systems with variable coefficients (e.g. elasticity plates) as well. 相似文献

In this paper we extend the results of Foias–Guillopé–Temam on the regularity and a priori estimates for the weak solutions of the Navier–Stokes equations. More specifically, we obtain upperbounds for the temporal averages of the Gevrey class norm for the weak solutions of the equations. The estimates are obtained first by getting integrated version of Foias–Temam's local in time estimate for Gevrey class norms of strong solutions and next by an induction procedure. We also strengthen slightly the local in time Gevrey class regularization of strong solutions. 相似文献

The purpose of this paper is to present some recent results in two slightly super-critical problems known as the Brezis-Nirenberg problem in dimension n3 and an equation involving the exponential nonlinearity in dimension n2. We show that for any uniformly parabolic fully nonlinear second-order equation with bounded measurable “coefficients” and bounded “free” term in any cylindrical smooth domain with smooth boundary data one can find an approximating equation which has a unique continuous solution with the first derivatives bounded and the second spacial derivatives locally bounded.
