We study a rotating atomic Fermi gas near a narrow s-wave Feshbach resonance in a uniaxial trap with frequencies Omega perpendicular, Omega z. We predict the upper-critical angular velocity, omega c2(delta,T), as a function of temperature T and detuning delta across the BEC-BCS crossover. The suppression of superfluidity at omega c2 is distinct in the BCS and BEC regimes, with the former controlled by depairing and the latter by the dilution of bosonic molecules. At low T and Omega z < Omega perpendicular, in the BCS and crossover regimes of 0 less similar delta less similar delta c, omega c2 is implicitly given by [formula: see text], vanishing as omega c2 approximately Omega perpendicular(1 - delta/delta c)(1/2) near [formula: see text] (with Delta the BCS gap and gamma the resonance width), and extending the bulk result variant Planck's over 2pi omega c2 approximately 2Delta2/epsilonF to a trap. In the BEC regime of delta < 0 we find omega c2-->Omega perpendicular-, where molecular superfluidity is destroyed only by large quantum fluctuations associated with comparable boson and vortex densities.  相似文献

We report the first measurement of the dynamical response of shot noise (measured at frequency omega) of a tunnel junction to an ac excitation at frequency omega0. The experiment is performed in the quantum regime, variant Planck's over 2piomega approximately variant Planck's over 2piomega0>kBT at very low temperature T=35 mK and high frequency omega0/2pi=6.2 GHz. We observe that the noise responds in phase with the excitation, but not adiabatically. The results are in very good agreement with a prediction based on a new current-current correlator.  相似文献

In the unitary regime, when the scattering amplitude greatly exceeds in magnitude the average interparticle separation, and below the critical temperature thermal properties of an atomic fermionic cloud are governed by the collective modes, specifically the Bogoliubov-Anderson sound modes. The specific heat of an atomic cloud in an elongated trap, in particular, has a rather complex temperature dependence, which changes from an exponential behavior at very low temperatures (T < h omega(parallel)), to proportional T for h omega(parallel) < T < h omega(perpendicular) and then continuously to proportional T4 at temperatures just below the critical temperature, when the surface modes play a dominant role. Only the low (h omega(parallel) < T < h omega(perpendicular)) and high (h omega(perpendicular) < T < T(c)) temperature power laws are well defined. For the intermediate temperatures one can introduce at most a gradually increasing with temperature exponent.  相似文献

Self-diffusion has been experimentally studied in a two-dimensional underdamped liquid complex (dusty) plasma. It was found that the self-diffusion coefficient D increases linearly with the temperature T: D/omega(E)a2 = (0.019 +/- 0.007)(T/T(m) - 1), where T(m), omega(E), and a are the melting temperature, the Einstein frequency, and the mean particle separation, respectively. No superdiffusion was observed, whereas a subdiffusion occurred at temperatures close to melting.  相似文献

On a high-mobility 2D electron gas we have observed, in strong magnetic fields (omega(c)tau>1), a parabolic negative magnetoresistance caused by electron-electron interactions in the regime of k(B)Ttau/ variant Planck's over 2pi approximately 1, which is the transition from the diffusive to the ballistic regime. From the temperature dependence of this magnetoresistance the interaction correction to the conductivity deltasigma(ee)(xx)(T) is obtained in the situation of a long-range fluctuation potential and strong magnetic field. The results are compared with predictions of the new theory of interaction-induced magnetoresistance.  相似文献

On the example of two-dimensional (2D) 3He we demonstrate that the main universal features of its experimental temperature T-density x phase diagram [see Neumann, Nyéki, and Saunders, Science 317, 1356 (2007)10.1126/science.1143607] look like those in the heavy-fermion metals. Our comprehensive theoretical analysis of the experimental situation in 2D 3He allows us to propose a simple expression for the effective mass M*(T,x), describing all the diverse experimental facts in 2D 3He in a unified manner and demonstrating that the universal behavior of M*(T,x) coincides with that observed in heavy-fermion metals.  相似文献

We present results of searches for technirho (rho(T)), techniomega (omega(T)), and Z' particles, using the decay channels rho(T),omega(T),Z'-->e(+)e(-). The search is based on 124.8 pb(-1) of data collected by the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron during 1992-1996. In the absence of a signal, we set 95% C.L. upper limits on the cross sections for the processes pp-->rho(T),omega(T),Z'-->e(+)e(-) as a function of the mass of the decaying particle. For certain model parameters, we exclude the existence of degenerate rho(T) and omega(T) states with masses below about 200 GeV. We exclude a Z' with mass below 670 GeV, assuming that it has the same couplings to fermions as the Z boson.  相似文献

We present measurements of ac complex resistivity, as well as dc resistivity, for a thick amorphous MoxSi1-x film at low temperatures ( T>0.04 K) in various constant fields B. We find that the vortex glass transition (VGT) persists down to T approximately 0.04Tc0 up to B approximately 0.9Bc2(0), where Tc0 and Bc2(0) are the mean-field transition temperature and upper critical field at T = 0, respectively. In the limit T-->0, the VGT line Bg(T) extrapolates to a field below Bc2(0), while the dc resistivity rho(T) tends to the finite nonzero value in fields just above Bg(0). These results indicate the presence of a metallic quantum vortex liquid at T = 0 in the regime Bg(0)相似文献

We report the first detailed and quantitative study of the Josephson coupling energy in the vortex liquid, Bragg glass, and vortex glass phases of Bi(2)Sr(2)CaCu(2)O(8+delta) by the Josephson plasma resonance. The measurements revealed distinct features in the T and H dependencies of the plasma frequency omega(pl) for each of these three vortex phases. When going across either the Bragg-to-vortex glass or the Bragg-to-liquid transition line, omega(pl) shows a dramatic change. We provide a quantitative discussion on the properties of these phase transitions, including the first order nature of the Bragg-to-vortex glass transition.  相似文献

Spin-orbit (SO) splitting, +/-omega(SO), of the electron Fermi surface in two-dimensional systems manifests itself in the interaction-induced corrections to the tunneling density of states, nu(epsilon). Namely, in the case of a smooth disorder, it gives rise to the satellites of a zero-bias anomaly at energies epsilon = +/-2 omega(SO). Zeeman splitting, +/-omega(Z), in a weak parallel magnetic field causes a narrow plateau of a width delta epsilon = 2 omega(Z) at the top of each sharp satellite peak. As omega(Z) exceeds omega(SO), the SO satellites cross over to the conventional narrow maxima at epsilon = +/-2 omega(Z) with SO-induced plateaus delta epsilon = 2 omega(SO) at the tops.  相似文献

We derive a fully quantum-mechanical equation of motion for a vortex in a 2-dimensional Bose superfluid in the temperature regime where the normal fluid density ρ(n)(T) is small. The coupling between the vortex "zero mode" and the quasiparticles has no term linear in the quasiparticle variables--the lowest-order coupling is quadratic. We find that as a function of the dimensionless frequency Ω=?Ω/k(B)T, the standard Hall-Vinen-Iordanskii equations are valid when Ω?1 (the "classical regime"), but elsewhere, the equations of motion become highly retarded, with significant experimental implications when Ω?1.  相似文献

In single crystals of 2H-NbSe2, we identify for the first time a crossover from a weak collective to a strong pinning regime in the vortex state which is not associated with the peak effect phenomenon. Instead, we find the crossover is associated with an anomalous history dependent magnetization response. In the dc magnetic field (Bdc)-temperature (T) vortex matter phase diagram we demarcate this pinning crossover boundary. We also delineate another boundary which separates the strong pinning region from a thermal fluctuation dominated regime, and find that a peak effect appears on this boundary.  相似文献

We presented the recent Hall effect data for a number of carriers in La(2-x)Sr(x)CuO4 as the sum of two components: the temperature independent term n0(x), which is due to external doping, and the thermally activated contribution. Their balance determines the crossover temperature T*(x) from the marginal Fermi liquid to pseudogap regime. The activation energy Delta(x) for thermally excited carriers equals the energy between the Fermi surface "arc" and the band bottom, as seen in angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy experiments. Other implications for the (T, x)-phase diagram of cuprates are also discussed.  相似文献

We derive the parallel upper critical field, Hc2, as a function of the temperature T in quasi-2D organic compound lambda-(BETS)2FeCl4, accounting for the formation of the nonuniform Larkin-Ovchinnikov-Fulde-Ferrell (LOFF) state. To further check the 2D LOFF model, we propose to study the Hc2(T) curve at low T in tilted fields, where the vortex state is described by the high Landau level functions characterized by the index n. We predict a cascade of first-order transitions between vortex phases with different n, between phases with different types of the symmetry at given n and the change of the superconducting transition from the second order to the first order as FeCl4 ions are replaced partly by GaCl4 ions.  相似文献

In this article, we assume that there exist the pseudoscalar $D\bar{D}_{s0}^*(2317)$ and $D^*\bar{D}_{s1}^*(2460)$ molecular states $Z_{1,2}$ and construct the color singlet-singlet molecule-type interpolating currents to study their masses with the QCD sum rules. In calculations, we consider the contributions of the vacuum condensates up to dimension-10 and use the formula $\mu=\sqrt{M_{X/Y/Z}^{2}-(2{\mathbb{M}}_{c})^{2}}$ to determine the energy scales of the QCD spectral densities. The numerical results, $M_{Z_1}=4.61_{-0.08}^{+0.11}\,\text{GeV}$ and $M_{Z_2}=4.60_{-0.06}^{+0.07}\,\text{GeV}$, which lie above the $D\bar{D}_{s0}^*(2317)$ and $D^*\bar{D}_{s1}^*(2460)$ thresholds respectively, indicate that the $D\bar{D}_{s0}^*(2317)$ and $D^*\bar{D}_{s1}^*(2460)$ are difficult to form bound state molecular states, the $Z_{1,2}$ are probably resonance states.  相似文献

Examining the rotational diffusion of a microparticle suspended in a soft material opens up exciting new opportunities for locally probing the frequency-dependent linear viscoelastic shear modulus, G*(omega). We study the one-dimensional rotational diffusion of a wax microdisk in an aqueous polymer entanglement network using light streak tracking. By measuring the disk's time-dependent mean square angular displacement, , we predict the polymer solution's G*(omega) using a rotational generalized Stokes-Einstein relation. The good agreement of the predicted modulus with mechanical measurements confirms this new microrheological approach.  相似文献

The D* D_1(2420) and DD '*(2600) interactions are studied in a one-boson-exchange model. Isovector bound state solutions with spin parity J~P= 1~+are found from the D* D_1(2420) interaction, which may be related to the observed charged charmonium-like state Z(4430).
