The class of nonlinear evolution equations (NLEE) - gauge equivalent to the N-wave equations related to the simple Lie algebra are derived and analyzed. They are written in terms of (x, t) ∈ satisfying r = rank nonlinear constraints. The corresponding Lax pairs and the time evolution of the scattering data are found. The Zakharov-Shabat
dressing method is appropriately modified to construct their soliton solutions.

We compare the Hamiltonian properties of the N-soliton solutions of the NLSE in the adiabatic approximation and show how it matches the Hamiltonian formulation for the
complex Toda chain which describes the adiabatic N-soliton interactions.

The novel inelastic collision properties of two-soliton interaction for an n-component coupled higher order nonlinear Schr?dinger equation are studied. Some interesting features of three soliton interactions,
related to the integrability of the n-component coupled higher order nonlinear Schr?dinger equation are also discussed.

We consider quasi-periodic and periodic (cnoidal) wave solutions of a set of n-component dynamical systems related to Korteweg-de Vries equation. Quasi-periodic wave solutions for these systems are expressed
in terms of Novikov polynomials. Periodic solutions in terms of Hermite polynomials and generalized Hermite polynomials for
dynamical systems related to Korteweg-de Vries equation are found.

We consider generalizations of the standard Hamiltonian dynamics to complex dynamical variables and introduce the notions
of real Hamiltonian form in analogy with the notion of real forms for a simple Lie algebra. Thus to each real Hamiltonian
system we are able to relate several nonequivalent ones. On the example of the complex Toda chain we demonstrate how starting
from a known integrable Hamiltonian system (e.g. the Toda chain) one can complexify it and then project onto different real forms.

Transport properties of ion swarms in presence of Resonant Charge Transfer (RCT) collisions are studied using Momentum Transfer
Theory (MTT). It was shown that, not surprisingly, RCT collisions may be represented as a special case of elastic scattering.
Using the developed MTT we tested a previously available anisotropic set of cross-sections for Ar+Ar
+ collisions by making the comparisons with the available data for the transverse diffusion coefficient. We also developed
an anisotropic set of Ne+Ne
+ integral cross-sections based on the available data for mobility, longitudinal and transverse diffusion. Anisotropic sets
of cross-sections are needed for Monte Carlo simulations of ion transport and plasma models.

Effects of the exciton and polariton dispersions and the nonlinear exciton and photon interactions on the properties of polariton
solitons in molecular crystals are investigated. Higher-order terms and phase-modulation (chirp) are taken into account. Bright-
and dark-soliton solutions of the resulting modified nonlinear Schr?dinger (NLS) equation are presented. Nonlinearity- and
dispersion-induced critical points on the polariton dispersion curve are obtained, separating regions with different solutions.

An explicit model realizing parton-hadron duality and fitting the data is suggested. Complex nonlinear Regge trajectories
are important ingredients of the model. The inclusion of Δ and N* trajectories should account for all resonances in the direct channel. The exotic trajectory is responsible for the smooth
background.

The general shape equation describing the forms of vesicles is a highly nonlinear partial differential equation for which
only a few explicit solutions are known. These solvable cases are briefly reviewed and a new analytical solution which represents
the class of the constant mean curvature surfaces is described. Pearling states of the tubular fluid membranes can be explained
as a continuous deformation preserving membrane mean curvature.

The 106, 108Rh and 110, 112Ag nuclei have been produced as fission fragments following the fusion reaction 28Si + 176Yb at 145 MeV bombarding energy and studied with the Eurogam2 array. The yrast high-spin states of these four odd-odd nuclei,
which are observed for the first time, consist of rotational bands in which the odd proton occupies the πg
9/2 subshell and the odd neutron the νh
11/2 subshell. Their behaviour as a function of spin values does not vary with the number of neutrons: as observed in the odd-N neighbouring nuclei, the motion of the odd neutron remains decoupled from the motion of the core, from N = 61 to N = 65. Moreover, the staggering observed in the yrast bands of odd-odd isotopes is strongly reduced as compared to the large
values displayed by the rotational bands built on the πg
9/2 subshell in the odd-A Rh and Ag isotopes. The results of particle-rotor calculations indicate that this reduction is related to a change of the
core deformation.

In this work we present a full selfconsistent set of nonlinear equations which unifies the nonlinear elasticity theory equations,
the Boltzmannn transport theory and the Maxwell equations for quasiparticles with arbitrary dispersion laws in nonstationarily
deformed crystals with arbitrary (but linear) constitutive relations. Transformations to replace the Galilean ones are obtained,
the quasiparticle mechanics in a Hamiltonian form is deduced, and a Boltzmann-type transport equation (valid in the whole
Brillouin zone) is derived. The theory may be applied to metals, semiconductors, quantum crystals, low-dimensional structures
etc.

The invertible objects in a tensor category form a subcategory the Grothendieck ring of which is the group ring of an abelian
group. This abelian fusion ring acts on the objects of the initial category and one can in principle determine all 6j-symbols that contain the lable of an invertible object.

The influence of final-state NN and πN rescattering in incoherent pion photoproduction on the deuteron has been investigated. For the elementary photoproduction
operator an effective Lagrangian model is used which describes well the elementary reaction. The interactions in the final
two-body subsystems are taken in separable form. While NN rescattering shows quite a significant effect, particularly strong for neutral pion production, πN rescattering is almost negligible. Inclusion of such effects leads to an improved and quite satisfactory agreement with experiment.

In treating the relativistic 3-quark problem, a dressed-quark propagator parameterization is used which is compatible with
recent lattice data and pion observables. Furthermore 2-quark correlations are modeled as a series of quark loops in the scalar
and axialvector channel. The resulting reduced Faddeev equations are solved for nucleon and delta. Nucleon electromagnetic
form factors are calculated in a fully covariant and gauge-invariant scheme. Whereas the proton electric form factor G
E and the nucleon magnetic moments are described correctly, the neutron electric form factor and the ratio G
E/G
M for the proton appear to be quenched. The influence of vector mesons on the form factors is investigated which amounts to
a 25% modification of the electromagnetic proton radii within this framework.
