DNS is performed for a statistically one dimensional layer of a spray region resembling diesel engine conditions. The group and collective combustion regimes are identified according to the ratio of the chemical and transport time scales for a single droplet. The statistics in group combustion are similar with those in gas phase combustion. The collective combustion regime involves interspersed rich regions with different dissipation characteristics. Reasonable agreements are shown with the scaled AMC model and the linear evaporation model in the ranges of meaningful probability. Initially the evaporation terms are dominant in the budgets of the conditional enthalpy equation. After ignition the chemical reaction term becomes dominant to be balanced by the time rate of change term. For modeling turbulent spray combustion it may not be essential to consider detailed micro structures around each droplet, unless in the droplet combustion regime.  相似文献

Response of a prolate spheroid plasma and/or an oblate spheroid plasma in presence of long wavelength electromagnetic wave has been studied. The resonance frequencies of these objects are obtained and it is found that they reduce to the resonance frequency of spherical cold plasma. Moreover, the resonant frequencies of prolate spheroid plasma and oblate spheroid plasma covered by a dielectric are investigated as well. Furthermore, their dependency on dielectric permittivity and geometry dimensions is simulated.  相似文献

凝胶推进剂虽然兼具有液体推进剂流量可控和固体推进剂长期可储存等优点, 但凝胶喷雾液滴蒸发燃烧问题却一直困扰着凝胶推进剂研制及燃烧室设计工作, 阻碍了凝胶推进剂实际工程应用.设计实现了凝胶单液滴蒸发燃烧实验系统, 通过某型有机凝胶偏二甲肼(UDMH)单液滴在四氧化二氮蒸气中的蒸发燃烧实验现象, 进一步深入分析了凝胶液滴蒸发燃烧机理.根据实验中凝胶单液滴在不同阶段的蒸发特性, 建立了有机凝胶喷雾液滴在胶凝剂膜形成、膨胀、破裂三个不同蒸发阶段的多组分蒸发模型, 采用初步选定的模型参数及物性参数对凝胶单液滴在高温气体环境中的蒸发全过程进行了仿真计算, 并与常规液体液滴的仿真结果进行了对比分析.结果表明,凝胶喷雾液滴表面胶凝剂含量在蒸发初期增加比较缓慢, 但在某临界时刻后的极短时间内迅速升高至形成胶凝剂膜的质量分数95%, 导致表面质量流率迅速下降至0,表面温度则快速上升至UDMH推进剂沸点.胶凝剂膜形成后, 液滴半径及表面UDMH蒸气质量分数出现了实验现象中凝胶液滴反复膨胀-破裂的震荡现象, 液滴表面温度维持在略高于沸点的某温度范围内,凝胶液滴内部的沸腾蒸发明显强于液体液滴表面稳态蒸发流率, 使得凝胶喷雾液滴生存时间小于常规液体液滴.  相似文献

It is shown that drops can become unstable and can break apart provided that the virtual shape is a prolate spheroid. Deforming a drop to an oblate spheroid does not cause it to break apart. Zh. Studies of regularly ordered droplet arrays facilitate the analysis of local effects on evaporation rates. This work investigates, using Direct Numerical Simulations (DNS), the effects of droplet density and flow conditions on evaporation of kerosene droplets in inert and reactive convective environments. A novel model, coupling a mass conservative Level Set approach with the Ghost Fluid method, is used. The rates obtained from the DNS are compared to two evaporation models based on heat and mass transfer numbers commonly used for RANS methods and Large Eddy Simulations (LES). The results show that predictions of evaporation rates of dense sprays using these models has a limited success. The use of the 1/3-rule to calculate mixture properties results in underpredictions of the evaporation rates by around 20% to 50% in most of the cases studied. The models can only predict the DNS results accurately with errors lower than 2%, if the properties in the evaporation rate models are based on properties in the near field around the droplet. Further studies on the effects of turbulence on the evaporation process showed no evident correlation between the evaporation rates and the subgrid kinetic energy relating the effects of turbulence to vapour dispersion away from the droplet surface.  相似文献

A combination of in situ one-dimensional profiling and two-dimensional 1H magnetic resonance imaging has been applied to study the shape and subsequent dynamic evaporation behavior of a single liquid droplet after impact onto a porous surface in a carefully controlled atmosphere. Aspects of the porous media permeability and particle shape are shown to affect considerably the observed drying regime. Variation in the shape, spread ratio, and penetration depth of the liquid droplet following impact are attributed to the different types of porous media used. A comparison of numerical simulations with the MRI data for the droplet shape, spread factor, and penetration depth show good agreement though larger deviations between simulated and experimental results occur in certain cases where the surface of the porous medium is disrupted by the impact of the liquid droplet. Initial results examining the effect of a reduced liquid surface tension show a significantly increased evaporation rate.  相似文献

The growth behavior of a spherical particle in undercooled melt,affected by uniaxial straining flows,is studied.The analytical solution obtained by the matched asymptotic expansion method shows that the uniaxial straining flow effect results in higher local growth rate near the surface where the flow comes in and lower local growth rate near the surface where the flow goes out,and that the uniaxial straining flow causes an initially spherical particle to evolve into an oblate spheroid.  相似文献

本文通过单光束梯度力光学镊子-拉曼光谱系统,对硫酸镁单液滴随着相对湿度变化的反应进行了探究。当硫酸镁单液滴被光镊捕获之后,通过相对湿度的梯度变化探究了捕获液滴的蒸发动力学变化。发生在与耳语回音模相称波长的受激拉曼散射可以用来准确地确定液滴半径,因此,可以通过腔增强拉曼散射得到在不同湿度下处于平衡的液滴半径信息。本研究通过光镊对硫酸镁单液滴的实时监测,阐述了在某个相对湿度范围内该液滴的粒径变化的过程和结果,在此之前的硫酸镁吸湿性研究中没有先例。研究结果表明在相对湿度逐渐降低至40%的过程中硫酸镁液滴半径的变化速率逐渐变小。而当相对湿度低于40%时,液滴半径的减小会被严重抑制。这种现象表示在高浓度条件下硫酸镁液滴中水的蒸发扩散速率会降低。另一方面,在蒸发过程后的相对湿度上升过程中,硫酸镁液滴尺寸的增加明显缓慢于湿度增长速度。这一现象显示液滴的尺寸变化是不可逆的。说明胶态的形成导致了传质受阻,从而阻碍了液滴中水分子的交换。  相似文献

We report the Bose-Einstein condensation (BEC) of the most magnetic element, dysprosium. The Dy BEC is the first for an open f-shell lanthanide (rare-earth) element and is produced via forced evaporation in a crossed optical dipole trap loaded by an unusual, blue-detuned and spin-polarized narrowline magneto-optical trap. Nearly pure condensates of 1.5 × 10(4) (164)Dy atoms form below T = 30 nK. We observe that stable BEC formation depends on the relative angle of a small polarizing magnetic field to the axis of the oblate trap, a property of trapped condensates only expected in the strongly dipolar regime. This regime was heretofore only attainable in Cr BECs via a Feshbach resonance accessed at a high-magnetic field.  相似文献

Phase field method based on Cahn–Hilliard free energy formulation is adopted for predicting the behavior of double emulsion droplet suspended in a continuous phase under the influence of a uniform electric field. The role played by the inner droplet on the electric-field-driven fluid flow, and also on deformation of the outer droplet is predicted by present numerical simulation. Three different kind of deformation type of outer and inner droplet (prolate–oblate, prolate–prolate and oblate–prolate) has been observed. With increase in the volume fraction of inner drop, transition in the deformation of outer drop from prolate to oblate occurs at lower value of fluid permittivity ratio.  相似文献

During a colloidal droplet evaporation, a sol–gel transition can be observed and is described by the desiccation time τD and the gelation time τG. These characteristic times, which can be linked to viscoelastic properties of the droplet and to its composition, are classically rated by analysis of mass droplet evolution during evaporation. Even if monitoring mass evolution versus time seems straightforward, this approach is very sensitive to environmental conditions (vibrations, air flow…) as mass has to be evaluated very accurately using ultra-sensitive weighing scales. In this study we investigated the potentialities of ultrasonic shear reflectometry to assess τD and τG in a simple and reliable manner. In order to validate this approach, our study has focused on blood droplets evaporation on which a great deal of work has recently been published. Desiccation and gelation times measured with shear ultrasonic reflectometry have been perfectly correlated to values obtained from mass versus time analysis. This ultrasonic method which is not very sensitive to environmental perturbations is therefore very interesting to monitor the drying of blood droplets in a simple manner and is more generally suitable for complex fluid droplets evaporation investigation.  相似文献

A model of the metal droplet evaporation in non-equilibrium arc plasma is proposed, which predicts a nonstationary mode of droplet heating in the case where ionization of the vapor cloud evaporating from the droplet gives rise to a further increase in the evaporation rate. This mode is shown to occur for a great variety of substances and is most conspicuous when evaporation of a material is accompanied by high-intensity thermionic emission from the droplet surface.  相似文献

The sound attenuation and dispersion in saturated gas–vapor–droplet mixtures with evaporation has been investigated theoretically. The theory is based on an extension of the work of Davidson (1975) to accommodate the effects of transpiration on the linear particle relaxation processes of mass, momentum and energy transfer. It is shown that the inclusion of transpiration in the presence of mass transfer improves the agreement between the theory and the experimental data of Cole and Dobbins (1971) for sound attenuation in air–water fogs at low droplet mass concentrations. The results suggest that transpiration has an appreciable effect on both sound absorption and dispersion for both low and high droplet mass concentrations.  相似文献

The results of study of evaporation of water droplets and NaCl salt solution from a solid substrate made of anodized aluminum are presented in this paper. The experiment provides the parameters describing the droplet profile: contact spot diameter, contact angle, and droplet height. The specific rate of evaporation was calculated from the experimental data. The water droplets or brine droplets with concentration up to 9.1 % demonstrate evaporation with the pinning mode for the contact line. When the salt concentration in the brine is taken up to 16.7 %, the droplet spreading mode was observed. Two stages of droplet evaporation are distinguished as a function of phase transition rate.  相似文献

Droplet evaporation characterization, although of great significance, is still challenging. The recently developed phase rainbow refractometry (PRR) is proposed as an approach to measuring the droplet temperature, size as well as evaporation rate simultaneously, and is applied to a single flowing n-heptane droplet produced by a droplet-on-demand generator. The changes of droplet temperature and evaporation rate after a transient spark heating are reflected in the time-resolved PRR image. Results show that droplet evaporation rate increases with temperature, from ?1.28×10?8 m2/s at atmospheric 293 K to a range of (?1.5, ?8)×10?8 m2/s when heated to (294, 315) K, agreeing well with the Maxwell and Stefan–Fuchs model predictions. Uncertainty analysis suggests that the main source is the indeterminate gradient inside droplet, resulting in an underestimation of droplet temperature and evaporation rate. With the demonstration on simultaneous measurements of droplet refractive index as well as droplet transient and local evaporation rate in this work, PRR is a promising tool to investigate single droplet evaporation in real engine conditions.  相似文献

喷雾蒸发燃烧的研究对指导发动机燃烧系统设计具有重要意义。本文搭建了高速数字全息系统,在线测量乙醇喷雾火焰中液滴的粒径、三维位置、速度及蒸发率。对喷雾火焰中的液滴进行了统计分析,得到液滴粒径及三维空间分布。燃烧喷雾场液滴的平均粒径为68μm;非燃烧火焰测试区液滴数量多且较密集,燃烧火焰测试区液滴数量少且稀疏.追踪单液滴并处理得到湍流火焰中液滴的运动轨迹及速度。通过研究粒径的平方D2随停留时间ts的变化,测得液滴平均蒸发率为-3.343×10-7 m2/s.  相似文献

The threshold conditions of excitation of temperature oscillations in high-Q water aerosol droplets have been studied under the conditions of slow evaporation. Selection rules have been obtained for interacting modes in a droplet. The threshold intensity of excitation of temperature oscillations has been analyzed in comparison with the threshold intensity of stimulated Brillouin and stimulated Raman scattering in a droplet. It is shown that, in the three-mode regime, the temperature oscillations can be excited at a rather low pumping level (about 10 W/cm2). A method is proposed for the remote measurement of the microphysical parameters of a droplet from the periodic temperature shift of eigenfrequencies of a droplet, the threshold intensity of excitation of temperature oscillations, and the thermal Raman frequency.  相似文献
