We study here the projective varieties with the property that there exists a projective isomorphism between two of their generic hyperplane sections. The case of surfaces had already been studied by Fubini and Fano in the 1920s. The latter gave the list of all (possibly signular) surfaces with projectively isomorphic hyperplane sections. The proof, however, was essentially wrong. By means of a different approach, we are able to supply a proof of Fano's claims. Moreover, we show some general properties of varieties with projectively isomorphic hyperplane sections: they have uniruled hyperplane sections and are related to varieties with small dual varieties. In particular we are able to conclude that threefolds with projectively isomorphic hyperplane sections either have rational sections or are P2-bundles over a curve.A member of GNSAGA of CNR.  相似文献

We prove that the moduli space of stable sheaves of rank 2 with the Chern classes c1=OQ(1,1) and c2=2 on a smooth quadric Q in P3 is isomorphic to P3. Using this identification, we give a new proof that a Brill-Noether locus, defined as the closure of the stable bundles with at least three linearly independent sections, on a non-hyperelliptic curve of genus 4, is isomorphic to the Donagi-Izadi cubic threefold.  相似文献

Let C be a smooth curve in P2 given by an equation F=0 of degree d. In this paper we consider elementary transformations of linear pfaffian representations of C. Elementary transformations can be interpreted as actions on a rank 2 vector bundle on C with canonical determinant and no sections, which corresponds to the cokernel of a pfaffian representation. Every two pfaffian representations of C can be bridged by a finite sequence of elementary transformations. Pfaffian representations and elementary transformations are constructed explicitly. For a smooth quartic, applications to Aronhold bundles and theta characteristics are given.  相似文献

We formulate three versions of a strange duality conjecture for sections of the Theta bundles on the moduli spaces of sheaves on abelian surfaces. As supporting evidence, we check the equality of dimensions on dual moduli spaces, answering a question raised by Göttsche et al. Let G be a connected reductive linear algebraic group defined over C with Lie algebra g. Let be a stable principal Higgs G-sheaf on a compact connected Kähler manifold. We consider all holomorphic sections of the adjoint vector bundle ad(EG) of EG that commute with the Higgs field φ. These correspond to the infinitesimal automorphisms of the principal Higgs G-sheaf. Any element of the center of g gives such a section. We prove that all the sections are given by the center of g.  相似文献

Let C be a smooth projective algebraic curve of genus g. The Brill–Noether problem is to determine at which conditions on n, d and k, there exists a stable vector bundle of rank n, degree d and with at least k independent global sections. Teixidor gave a rather general answer about the existence in her paper [Tei]. The result was available only for a generic curve, in a very imprecise sense, and the proof was really difficult. In the present paper we completely classify locally free sheaves of rank 2 with vanishing intermediate cohomology modules on the image of the Segre embedding P2×P2?P8 and its general hyperplane sections.Such a classification extends similar already known results regarding del Pezzo varieties with Picard numbers 1 and 3 and dimension at least 3.  相似文献

A separable transfer map is defined for finite surjective morphisms from integral schemes to a Noetherian integral normal base, for both chain complexes of sheaves and presheaves of spectra. The spectrum level transfer is a map from a direct image paired with the classifying space of a translation groupoid, and taking values in the original presheaf. More traditional transfer maps are recovered from global sections of the stack associated to this groupoid. These constructions can be made in a big site model for the motivic stable category.  相似文献

Let X be a non-degenerate, not necessarily linearly normal projective variety in . Recently the generalization of property N p to non-linearly normal projective varieties have been considered and its algebraic and geometric properties are studied extensively. One of the generalizations is the property N d,p for the saturated ideal I X (Eisenbud et al. in Compos Math 141: 1460–1478, 2005) and the other is the property for the graded module of the twisted global sections of (Kwak and Park in J Reine Angew Math 582: 87–105, 2005). In this paper, we are interested in the algebraic and geometric meaning of properties for every p ≥ 0 and the syzygetic behaviors of isomorphic projections and hyperplane sections of a given variety with property . We define the notion of a hypercube structure on a functor between two commutative Picard categories which generalizes the notion of a cube structure on a Gm-torsor over an abelian scheme. We prove that the determinant functor of a relative scheme X/S of relative dimension n is canonically endowed with a (n+2)-cube structure. We use this result to define the intersection bundle IX/S(L1,…,Ln+1) of n+1 line bundles on X/S and to construct an additive structure on the functor IX/S:PIC(X/S)n+1PIC(S). Then, we construct the resultant of n+1 sections of n+1 line bundles on X, and the discriminant of a section of a line bundle on X. Finally we study the relationship between the cube structures on the determinant functor and on the discriminant functor, and we use it to prove a polarization formula for the discriminant functor.  相似文献

We show that the complex link of a large class of space germs (X,x0) is characterized by its “simplicity”, among the Milnor fibres of functions with isolated singularity on X. This amounts to the minimality of the Milnor number, whenever this number is defined. Such a phenomenon has been first pointed out in case (X,x0) is an isolated hypersurface singularity, by Teissier (Cycles évanescents, sections planes et conditions de Whitney, in: Singularités à Cargèse 1972, Asterisque, Nos. 7 et 8, Soc.
