Summary The free vibration problem of a thin cross-ply composite laminated circular cylindrical panel subjected to arbitrary combinations of axial and circumferential initial compressions is studied. The equations of motion are derived, in the framework of the Donnell-type theory, in terms of the panel middle surface displacements components. Closed form solutions are obtained, for simply-supported panels, and numerical results for both antisymmetric and unsymmetric laminated cross-ply panels are presented.
Résumé On étudie le problème de libre vibration d'une coque cylindrique ouverte, composée de fines lamelles croisées, soumise aux combinaisons arbitraires des compressions initiales de la circonférence et de l'axe. Les équations de vibrations dérivent, en accord avec la théorie de Donnell, des composantes de déplacement de la surface moyenne de la coque ouverte. On obtient des solutions exactes pour les coques cylindriques ouvertes posées librement et on présente des résultats numériques pour les coques cylindriques ouvertes composées de fines lamelles croisées antisymétriques et non symétriques.

The governing equations for a free dynamic response of a symmetrically laminated composite shell are used to analyze a nonlinear differential panel. The FEM and the Lindstedt–Poincare perturbation technique are invoked to construct a uniform asymptotic expansion of the solution to a nonlinear differential equation ofmotion. A comparison between numerical and finite-element methods for analyzing a symmetrically laminated graphite/epoxy shell panel is performed to show that the nonlinearities are of hardening type and are more repeated for smaller opening angles. It is also shown that large-amplitude motions are dominated by lower modes.  相似文献

Using the maximum principle of Ref. 1, a procedure to find numerical solutions of certain optimal control problems is given. The aim of this paper is to study the free vibration of nanobeams with multiple cracks. The analysis procedure is based on nonlocal elasticity theory. This theory states that stress at a point is a function of strains at all points in the continuum. The nonlocal elasticity theory becomes significant for small length scale in micro and nanostructures. The effects of nonlocality, crack location and crack parameter are investigated on the natural frequencies of the cracked nanobeam. In this study, analytical solutions are given for cracked Euler–Bernoulli nanobeams of different boundary conditions.  相似文献

The postbuckling characteristics of the angle-ply laminated composite conical shells subjected to the torsion, the external pressure, the axial compression, and the thermal loading considering uniform temperature change are studied using the semi-analytical finite element approach. The finite element formulation is based on the first-order shear deformation theory and the field consistency principle. The variations in the stiffness coefficients along the meridional direction due to the changes in the ply-angle and the ply-thickness of the filament wound conical shells are incorporated in the finite element formulation. The nonlinear governing equations are solved using the Newton–Raphson iteration procedure coupled with the displacement control method to trace the prebuckling followed by the postbuckling equilibrium path. The presence of asymmetric perturbation in the form of a small magnitude load spatially proportional to the linear buckling mode shape is considered to initiate the bifurcation of the shell deformation. The influence of semi-cone angle, ply-angle and number of circumferential waves on the prebuckling/postbuckling response of the anti-symmetric angle-ply laminated circular conical shells is investigated.  相似文献

Cylindrical bending is studied by developing a new zigzag theory which relaxes the zero transverse shear stress condition on the outer surfaces of the panels subjected to transversely applied electromechanical load. The mechanical portion of the transverse displacement approximation in this new shear deformation theory is considered constant as well as non-constant through the development of three models. Unlike the existing zigzag theories which enforce the condition of vanishing transverse shear stresses on outer surfaces of laminates, these new theories relax it. Though the number of primary mechanical variables get increased by four or five or six, the computational cost does not increase appreciably. Approximating the electric potential in each piezoelectric layer as sublayerswise linear, variational principle is applied in deriving equilibrium equations and boundary conditions. Accuracy of the new base model as well as two augmented models is assessed by comparing with elasticity and piezoelasticity solutions. While it is observed that the new base model is highly accurate than the existing zigzag model, the two augmented models do not aid in its further improvement. This is attributed to the fact that layerwise consideration of the transverse displacement, not global consideration, is needed to correctly establish the effect of transverse normal deformation in the laminated composite and smart panel.  相似文献

A two-dimensional, positive-feedback system with diffusion is investigated, the two components being subject to different boundary conditions. For the onset of a non-negative, non-trivial stationary solution (which is proved to be unique) a necessary and sufficient condition is established, which is expressed in terms of a certain parameter. While the latter are, in general, difficult to compute exactly, in the one-dimensional case an explicit computation of the critical value of the parameter is provided.  相似文献

Based on refined equations of the Timoshenko-type shell theory, the contact stresses in torsion of a two-layer cylindrical shell with an adhesive interlayer are numerically studied. The effect of the geometric and physical-mechanical parameters of the load-carrying layers and adhesive interlayer of the shell on the distribution of the interlaminar tangential stress is analyzed. The influence of the quadratic and cubic terms on non-linear dynamic characteristics of the angle-ply composite laminated rectangular plate with parametric and external excitations is investigated. The method of multiple time scale perturbation is applied to solve the non-linear differential equations describing the system up to and including the second-order approximation. All possible resonance cases are extracted and investigated at this approximation order. Two cases of the sub-harmonic resonances cases (Ω2 ? 2ω1 and Ω2 ? 2ω2) in the presence of 1:2 internal resonance ω2 ? 2ω1 are considered. The stability of the system is investigated using both frequency response equations and phase-plane method. It is quite clear that some of the simultaneous resonance cases are undesirable in the design of such system as they represent some of the worst behavior of the system. Such cases should be avoided as working conditions for the system. Some recommendations regarding the different parameters of the system are reported. Reinforced panels are the basic load-bearing elements of various structures. Optimization of massive structures requires consideration of deformation of the panel cross-sections. This is particularly important in determining the bearing strength at buckling. The load scheme, conditions for fixation of the panel cross-section, and bend-torsional stiffness taking account of the deformation of the rod cross-section affect the buckling load in real structures. The stress distribution prior to buckling must be known to solve the buckling problem properly. The stress in the panel is proportional to the active load. The stress distribution is assumed to be known according to our previous method [1]. The load scheme and panel dimensions are shown in Fig. 1. The stress distribution in the panel prior to buckling can be found using Eqs. (1)-(3). A view of the cross-section is given in Fig. 1. The displacements in the panel at buckling for the boundary area are found using Eqs. (4)-(6), while the stresses in the skin and stiffness are found using Eq. (7). Roots k1 and k2 are those of the characteristic equation and is a dimensionless coordinate. The problem was solved using variational theory. The potential energy is given by Eqs. (8) and (9) by orihogonalization of Eqs. (5). The basic equations are converted to Eqs. (10) by evaluation of the components in Eqs. (8) and (9). Its calculation (11) gives the compression load. This paper studies the weighted Hardy inequalities on the discrete intervals with four different kinds of boundary conditions. The main result is the uniform expression of the basic estimate of the optimal constant with the corresponding boundary condition. Firstly, one-side boundary condition is considered, which means that the sequences vanish at the right endpoint (ND-case). Based on the dual method, it can be translated into the case vanishing at left endpoint (DN-case). Secondly, the condition is the case that the sequences vanish at two endpoints (DD-case). The third type of condition is the generality of the mean zero condition (NN-case), which is motivated from probability theory. To deal with the second and the third kinds of inequalities, the splitting technique is presented. Finally, as typical applications, some examples are included.  相似文献

An investigation is made on interlaminar delamination growth of composite laminated circular plates under in-plane loads and movable delamination boundary conditions. A four-dissociated-region model is developed on the basis of von-Karman plate theory. The model is geometrically nonlinear and the laminated circular plate considered is subjected to axisymmetrical delamination. The effects of transverse shear deformation and contact effect of the delamination on the laminated plates are taking into account in the development of the governing equations of the laminated circular pates with random axisymmetrical delamination. The formulas for describing the total energy release rate and its individual mode components along the delamination front are also derived with considerations of Griffith criterion for fracture. Based on the model established, the delamination growth is numerically studied; and the influences of the parameters such as delamination radii and depths, together with material properties of the plates on the energy release rate are analyzed in detail.  相似文献
