The Alday–Maldacena solution, relevant to the n=4n=4 gluon amplitude in N=4N=4 SYM at strong coupling, was recently identified as a minimum of the regularized action in the moduli space of solutions of the AdS5AdS5σ  -model equations of motion. Analogous solutions of the Nambu–Goto equations for the n=4n=4 case are presented and shown to form (modulo the reparametrization group) an equally large but different moduli space, with the Alday–Maldacena solution at the intersection of the σ  -model and Nambu–Goto moduli spaces. We comment upon the possible form of the regularized action for n=5n=5. A function of moduli parameters zaza is written, whose minimum reproduces the BDDK one-loop five-gluon amplitude. This function may thus be considered as some kind of Legendre transform of the BDDK formula and has its own value independently of the Alday–Maldacena approach.  相似文献

We have studied the anisotropic two-dimensional nearest-neighbor Ising model with competitive interactions in both uniform longitudinal field HH and transverse magnetic field ΩΩ. Using the effective-field theory (EFT) with correlation in cluster with N=1N=1 spin we calculate the thermodynamic properties as a function of temperature with values HH and ΩΩ fixed. The model consists of ferromagnetic interaction JxJx in the xx direction and antiferromagnetic interaction JyJy in the yy direction, and it is found that for H/Jy∈[0,2]H/Jy[0,2] the system exhibits a second-order phase transition. The thermodynamic properties are obtained for the particular case of λ=Jx/Jy=1λ=Jx/Jy=1 (isotropic square lattice).  相似文献

We demonstrate the emergence of non-Abelian fusion rules for excitations of a two dimensional lattice model built out of Abelian degrees of freedom. It can be considered as an extension of the usual toric code model on a two dimensional lattice augmented with matter fields. It consists of the usual C(Zp)C(Zp) gauge degrees of freedom living on the links together with matter degrees of freedom living on the vertices. The matter part is described by a nn dimensional vector space which we call HnHn. The ZpZp gauge particles act on the vertex particles and thus HnHn can be thought of as a C(Zp)C(Zp) module. An exactly solvable model is built with operators acting in this Hilbert space. The vertex excitations for this model are studied and shown to obey non-Abelian fusion rules. We will show this for specific values of nn and pp, though we believe this feature holds for all n>pn>p. We will see that non-Abelian anyons of the quantum double of C(S3)C(S3) are obtained as part of the vertex excitations of the model with n=6n=6 and p=3p=3. Ising anyons are obtained in the model with n=4n=4 and p=2p=2. The n=3n=3 and p=2p=2 case is also worked out as this is the simplest model exhibiting non-Abelian fusion rules. Another common feature shared by these models is that the ground states have a higher symmetry than ZpZp. This makes them possible candidates for realizing quantum computation.  相似文献

In this article we study in detail the supersymmetric structures that underlie the system of fermionic zero modes around a superconducting cosmic string. Particularly, we extend the analysis existing in the literature on the one dimensional N=2N=2 supersymmetry and we find multiple N=2N=2, d=1d=1 supersymmetries. In addition, compact perturbations of the Witten index of the system are performed and we find to which physical situations these perturbations correspond. More importantly, we demonstrate that there exists a much more rich supersymmetric structure underlying the system of fermions with NfNf flavors and these are NN-extended supersymmetric structures with non-trivial topological charges, with “NN” depending on the fermion flavors.  相似文献

We investigate the geometry of the moduli space of NN vortices on line bundles over a closed Riemann surface ΣΣ of genus g>1g>1, in the little explored situation where 1≤N<g1N<g. In the regime where the area of the surface is just large enough to accommodate NN vortices (which we call the dissolving limit), we describe the relation between the geometry of the moduli space and the complex geometry of the Jacobian variety of ΣΣ. For N=1N=1, we show that the metric on the moduli space converges to a natural Bergman metric on ΣΣ. When N>1N>1, the vortex metric typically degenerates as the dissolving limit is approached, the degeneration occurring precisely on the critical locus of the Abel–Jacobi map of ΣΣ at degree NN. We describe consequences of this phenomenon from the point of view of multivortex dynamics.  相似文献

A multi-parametric version of the nonadditive entropy SqSq is introduced. This new entropic form, denoted by Sa,b,rSa,b,r, possesses many interesting statistical properties, and it reduces to the entropy SqSq for b=0b=0, a=r:=1−qa=r:=1q (hence Boltzmann–Gibbs entropy SBGSBG for b=0b=0, a=r→0a=r0). The construction of the entropy Sa,b,rSa,b,r is based on a general group-theoretical approach recently proposed by one of us, Tempesta (2016). Indeed, essentially all the properties of this new entropy are obtained as a consequence of the existence of a rational group law, which expresses the structure of Sa,b,rSa,b,r with respect to the composition of statistically independent subsystems. Depending on the choice of the parameters, the entropy Sa,b,rSa,b,r can be used to cover a wide range of physical situations, in which the measure of the accessible phase space increases say exponentially with the number of particles NN of the system, or even stabilizes, by increasing NN, to a limiting value.  相似文献

In this paper we construct a particularly important solution to the focusing NLS equation, namely a Peregrine breather of the rank 10 which we call, P10P10 breather. The related explicit formula is given by the ratio of two polynomials of degree 110 with integer coefficients times trivial exponential factor. This formula drastically simplifies for the “initial values” namely for t=0t=0 or x=0x=0. This formula confirms a general conjecture saying that between all quasi-rational solutions of the rank NN fixed by the condition that its absolute value tends to 1 at infinity and its highest maximum is located at the point (x=0,t=0)(x=0,t=0), the PNPN breather is distinguished by the fact that PN(0,0)=2N+1PN(0,0)=2N+1 and, in the aforementioned class of quasi-rational solutions, it is an absolute maximum. At the end we also make a few remarks concerning the rational deformations of P10P10 breather involving 2N−22N2 free real parameters chosen in a way that PNPN breather itself corresponds to the zero values of these parameters although we have no intention to discuss the properties of these deformations here.  相似文献

We study rigid string solutions rotating in AdS5×S5AdS5×S5 background. For particular values of the parameters of the solutions we find multispin solutions corresponding to giant magnons and single spike strings. We present an analysis of the dispersion relations in the case of three spin solutions distributed only in S5S5 and the case of one spin in AdS5AdS5 and two spins in S5S5. The possible relation of these string solutions to gauge theory operators and spin chains are briefly discussed.  相似文献

Fluxmetric and magnetometric demagnetizing factors, NfNf and NmNm, for cylinders along the axial direction are numerically calculated as functions of material susceptibility χχ and the ratio γγ of length to diameter. The results have an accuracy better than 0.1% with respect to min(Nf,m,1-Nf,m)min(Nf,m,1-Nf,m) and are tabulated in the range of 0.01?γ?5000.01?γ?500 and -1?χ<∞-1?χ<. NmNm along the radial direction is evaluated with a lower accuracy from NmNm along the axis and tabulated in the range of 0.01?γ?10.01?γ?1 and -1?χ<∞-1?χ<. Some previous results are discussed and several applications are explained based on the new results.  相似文献

It is shown that four-dimensional N=1N=1 supersymmetric QCD with massive flavors in the fundamental representation of the gauge group can be realized in the hidden sector of E8×E8E8×E8 heterotic string vacua. The number of flavors can be chosen to lie in the range of validity of the free-magnetic dual, using which one can demonstrate the existence of long-lived meta-stable non-supersymmetric vacua. This is shown explicitly for the gauge group Spin(10)Spin(10), but the methods are applicable to Spin(Nc)Spin(Nc), SU(Nc)SU(Nc) and Sp(Nc)Sp(Nc) for a wide range of color index NcNc. Hidden sectors of this type can potentially be used as a mechanism to break supersymmetry within the context of heterotic M-theory.  相似文献

We discuss three Hamiltonians, each with a central-field part H0H0 and a PT-symmetric perturbation igzigz. When H0H0 is the isotropic Harmonic oscillator the spectrum is real for all gg because HH is isospectral to H0+g2/2H0+g2/2. When H0H0 is the Hydrogen atom then infinitely many eigenvalues are complex for all gg. If the potential in H0H0 is linear in the radial variable rr then the spectrum of HH exhibits real eigenvalues for 0<g<gc0<g<gc and a PT phase transition at gcgc.  相似文献

We study properties of strongly coupled CFT's with non-zero background electric charge in 1+11+1 dimensions by studying the dual gravity theory—which is a charged BTZ black hole. Correlators of operators dual to scalars, gauge fields and fermions are studied at both T=0T=0 and T≠0T0. In the T=0T=0 case we are also able to compare with analytical results based on AdS2AdS2 and find reasonable agreement. In particular the correlation between log periodicity and the presence of finite spectral density of gapless modes is seen. The real part of the conductivity (given by the current–current correlator) also vanishes as ω→0ω0 as expected. The fermion Green's function shows quasiparticle peaks with approximately linear dispersion but the detailed structure is neither Fermi liquid nor Luttinger liquid and bears some similarity to a “Fermi–Luttinger” liquid. This is expected since there is a background charge and the theory is not Lorentz or scale invariant. A boundary action that produces the observed non-Luttinger liquid like behavior (k  -independent non-analyticity at ω=0ω=0) in the Green's function is discussed.  相似文献

The Rabi model describes the simplest interaction between a cavity mode with a frequency ωcωc and a two-level system with a resonance frequency ω0ω0. It is shown here that the spectrum of the Rabi model coincides with the support of the discrete Stieltjes integral measure in the orthogonality relations of recently introduced orthogonal polynomials. The exactly solvable limit of the Rabi model corresponding to Δ=ω0/(2ωc)=0Δ=ω0/(2ωc)=0, which describes a displaced harmonic oscillator, is characterized by the discrete Charlier polynomials in normalized energy ??, which are orthogonal on an equidistant lattice. A non-zero value of ΔΔ leads to non-classical discrete orthogonal polynomials ?k(?)?k(?) and induces a deformation of the underlying equidistant lattice. The results provide a basis for a novel analytic method of solving the Rabi model. The number of ca. 1350 calculable energy levels per parity subspace obtained in double precision (cca 16 digits) by an elementary stepping algorithm is up to two orders of magnitude higher than is possible to obtain by Braak’s solution. Any first nn eigenvalues of the Rabi model arranged in increasing order can be determined as zeros of ?N(?)?N(?) of at least the degree N=n+ntN=n+nt. The value of nt>0nt>0, which is slowly increasing with nn, depends on the required precision. For instance, nt?26nt?26 for n=1000n=1000 and dimensionless interaction constant κ=0.2κ=0.2, if double precision is required. Given that the sequence of the llth zeros xnlxnl’s of ?n(?)?n(?)’s defines a monotonically decreasing discrete flow with increasing nn, the Rabi model is indistinguishable from an algebraically solvable model in any finite precision. Although we can rigorously prove our results only for dimensionless interaction constant κ<1κ<1, numerics and exactly solvable example suggest that the main conclusions remain to be valid also for κ≥1κ1.  相似文献

We discuss space-time symmetric Hamiltonian operators of the form H=H0+igHH=H0+igH, where H0H0 is Hermitian and gg real. H0H0 is invariant under the unitary operations of a point group GG while HH is invariant under transformation by elements of a subgroup GG of GG. If GG exhibits irreducible representations of dimension greater than unity, then it is possible that HH has complex eigenvalues for sufficiently small nonzero values of gg. In the particular case that HH is parity-time symmetric then it appears to exhibit real eigenvalues for all 0<g<gc0<g<gc, where gcgc is the exceptional point closest to the origin. Point-group symmetry and perturbation theory enable one to predict whether HH may exhibit real or complex eigenvalues for g>0g>0. We illustrate the main theoretical results and conclusions of this paper by means of two- and three-dimensional Hamiltonians exhibiting a variety of different point-group symmetries.  相似文献

We calculate low scale gravity effects on the cross section for neutrino–nucleon scattering at center of mass energies up to the Greisen–Zatsepin–Kuzmin (GZK) scale, in the eikonal approximation. We compare the cases of an infinitely thin brane embedded in n=5n=5 compactified extra-dimensions, and of a brane with a physical tension MS=1 TeVMS=1 TeV and MS=10 TeVMS=10 TeV. The extra dimensional Planck scale MDMD is set at 103 GeV103 GeV and 2×103 GeV2×103 GeV. We also compare our calculations with neutral current standard model calculations in the same energy range, and compare the thin brane eikonal cross section to its saddle point approximation. New physics effects enhance the cross section by orders of magnitude on average. They are quite sensitive to MSMS and MDMD choices, though much less sensitive to n.  相似文献

The sound attenuation phenomena is investigated for a spin- 3/2 Ising model on the Bethe lattice in terms of the recursion relations by using the Onsager theory of irreversible thermodynamics. The dependencies of sound attenuation on the temperature (TT), frequency (ww), Onsager coefficient (γγ) and external magnetic field (HH) near the second-order (Tc)(Tc) and first-order (Tt)(Tt) phase transition temperatures are examined for given coordination numbers qq on the Bethe lattice. It is assumed that the sound wave couples to the order-parameter fluctuations which decay mainly via the order-parameter relaxation process, thus two relaxation times are obtained and which are used to obtain an expression for the sound attenuation coefficient (α)(α). Our investigations revealed that only one peak is obtained near TtTt and three peaks are found near TcTc when the Onsager coefficient is varied at a given constant frequency for q=3q=3. Fixing the Onsager coefficient and varying the frequency always leads to two peaks for q=3,4q=3,4 and 6 near TcTc. The sound attenuation peaks are observed near TtTt at lower values of external magnetic field, but as it increases the sound attenuation peaks decrease and eventually disappear.  相似文献

A complex symplectic structure on a Lie algebra hh is an integrable complex structure JJ with a closed non-degenerate (2,0)(2,0)-form. It is determined by JJ and the real part ΩΩ of the (2,0)(2,0)-form. Suppose that hh is a semi-direct product g?Vg?V, and both gg and VV are Lagrangian with respect to ΩΩ and totally real with respect to JJ. This note shows that g?Vg?V is its own weak mirror image in the sense that the associated differential Gerstenhaber algebras controlling the extended deformations of ΩΩ and JJ are isomorphic.  相似文献

Embedded random matrix ensembles are generic models for describing statistical properties of finite isolated interacting quantum many-particle systems. For the simplest spinless fermion (or boson) systems, with say mm fermions (or bosons) in NN single particle states and interacting via kk-body interactions, we have EGUE(kk) [embedded GUE of kk-body interactions] with GUE embedding and the embedding algebra is U(N)U(N). A finite quantum system, induced by a transition operator, makes transitions from its states to the states of the same system or to those of another system. Examples are electromagnetic transitions (then the initial and final systems are same), nuclear beta and double beta decay (then the initial and final systems are different), particle addition to or removal from a given system and so on. Towards developing a complete statistical theory for transition strength densities (transition strengths multiplied by the density of states at the initial and final energies), we have derived formulas for the lower order bivariate moments of the strength densities generated by a variety of transition operators. Firstly, for a spinless fermion system, using EGUE(kk) representation for a Hamiltonian that is kk-body and an independent EGUE(tt) representation for a transition operator that is tt-body and employing the embedding U(N)U(N) algebra, finite-NN formulas for moments up to order four are derived, for the first time, for the transition strength densities. Secondly, formulas for the moments up to order four are also derived for systems with two types of spinless fermions and a transition operator similar to beta decay and neutrinoless beta decay operators. In addition, moments formulas are also derived for a transition operator that removes k0k0 number of particles from a system of mm spinless fermions. In the dilute limit, these formulas are shown to reduce to those for the EGOE version derived using the asymptotic limit theory of Mon and French (1975). Numerical results obtained using the exact formulas for two-body (k=2k=2) Hamiltonians (in some examples for k=3k=3 and 44) and the asymptotic formulas clearly establish that in general the smoothed (with respect to energy) form of the bivariate transition strength densities take bivariate Gaussian form for isolated finite quantum systems. Extensions of these results to bosonic systems and EGUE ensembles with further symmetries are discussed.  相似文献
