New index transforms, involving the real part of the modified Bessel function of the first kind as the kernel are considered. Mapping properties such as the boundedness and invertibility are investigated for these operators in the Lebesgue spaces. Inversion theorems are proved. As an interesting application, a solution of the initial value problem for the second-order partial differential equation, involving the Laplacian, is obtained. It is noted that the corresponding operators with the imaginary part of the modified Bessel function of the first kind lead to the familiar Kontorovich–Lebedev transform and its inverse.  相似文献

In this article, various convolution theorems involving certain weight functions and convolution products are derived. The convolution theorems we obtain are more general, convenient, and efficient than the complicated convolution theorem of the Hartley transform. New singular integral operators are constructed involving the so‐called spherical monogenics of Clifford analysis, as special cases of broad families of specific Clifford distributions. They constitute refinements of the classical singular integral operators involving spherical harmonics and give rise to generalized Hilbert transforms. The bounding of the two-parameter Mittag-Leffler function is discussed. As a particular consequence, we present two proofs for a sum involving a three-parameter Mittag-Leffler function. Representations for inverses of Toeplitz-plus-Hankel matrices and more general Bezoutians involving only discrete Hartley transforms and diagonal matrices are presented. Using these representations a column vector can be multiplied by the inverse of a Toeplitz-plus-Hankel matrix with the help of only 6 Hartley transforms plus O(n) operations. The authors construct self-similar solutions for an N-dimensional transport equation, where the velocity is given by the Riezs transform. These solutions imply non-uniqueness of weak solution. In this paper a class of goodness-of-fit tests for the Rayleigh distribution is proposed. The tests are based on a weighted integral involving the empirical Laplace transform. The consistency of the tests as well as their asymptotic distribution under the null hypothesis are investigated. As the decay of the weight function tends to infinity the test statistics approach limit values. In a particular case the resulting limit statistic is related to the first nonzero component of Neyman’s smooth test for this distribution. The new tests are compared with other omnibus tests for the Rayleigh distribution.  相似文献

Fast wavelet transform algorithms for Toeplitz matrices are proposed in this paper. Distinctive from the well known discrete trigonometric transforms, such as the discrete cosine transform (DCT) and the discrete Fourier transform (DFT) for Toeplitz matrices, the new algorithms are achieved by compactly supported wavelet that preserve the character of a Toeplitz matrix after transform, which is quite useful in many applications involving a Toeplitz matrix. Results of numerical experiments show that the proposed method has good compression performance similar to using wavelet in the digital image coding. Since the proposed algorithms turn a dense Toeplitz matrix into a band-limited form, the arithmetic operations required by the new algorithms are O(N) that are reduced greatly compared with O(N log N) by the classical trigonometric transforms.  相似文献

In this paper, the solution of the multi-order differential equations, by using Mellin transform, is proposed. It is shown that the problem related to the shift of the real part of the argument of the transformed function, arising when the Mellin integral operates on the fractional derivatives, may be overcame. Then, the solution may be found for any fractional differential equation involving multi-order fractional derivatives (or integrals). The solution is found in the Mellin domain, by solving a linear set of algebraic equations, whose inverse transform gives the solution of the fractional differential equation at hands.  相似文献

A general concept of two-scale convergence is introduced and two-scale compactness theorems are stated and proved for some classes of sequences of bounded functions in L 2(Ω) involving no periodicity assumptions. Further, the relation to the classical notion of compensated compactness and the recent concepts of two-scale compensated compactness and unfolding is discussed and a defect measure for two-scale convergence is introduced.  相似文献

It can be shown that if a differential equation is analytic near a point, then it is always possible to select a forcing term along with initial conditions that will ensure the solution to the new non-homogeneous equation is a polynomial that is the finite, truncated portion of the (infinite) series solution of the original equation. It turns out that this result can be extended to expansions about a singular point. The conditions under which such a polynomial truncation can be accomplished about a singular point are presented in the Appendix. A brief algorithm is described that enables one to choose the appropriate forcing term and initial conditions. Following this, an example involving Laguerre's equation is presented.  相似文献

There is a classical technique for determining the equilibrium probabilities ofM/G/1 type Markov chains. After transforming the equilibrium balance equations of the chain, one obtains an equivalent system of equations in analytic functions to be solved. This method requires finding all singularities of a given matrix function in the unit disk and then using them to obtain a set of linear equations in the finite number of unknown boundary probabilities. The remaining probabilities and other measures of interest are then computed from the boundary probabilities. Under certain technical assumptions, the linear independence of the resulting equations is established by a direct argument involving only elementary results from matrix theory and complex analysis. Simple conditions for the ergodicity and nonergodicity of the chain are also given.  相似文献

We investigate a generalized form of a partial differential equation governing the diffusion of heavy pollutants into the atmosphere. In earlier treatments of the equation, the vertical component of turbulent exchange coefficient was assumed to be linear. Our generalization takes into account the nonlinear case of this component. Furthermore, two general identities involving the confluent hypergeometric function of the second kind are derived in the course of solving the given PDE.  相似文献

Hiriart-Urruty and the author recently introduced the notions of Dupin indicatrices for nonsmooth convex surfaces and studied them in connection with their concept of a second-order subdifferential for convex functions. They noticed that second-order subdifferentials can be viewed as limit sets of difference quotients involving approximate subdifferentials. In this paper, we obtained some useful estimates for convolution corresponding to Kontorovich‐Lebedev transform (KL‐transform) in Lebesgue space. Some continuity theorems for translation, convolution, and KL‐transform in test function space are discussed. Then an integral representation of pseudodifferential operator involving KL‐transform is found out, and its estimates in Lebesgue space is obtained. At the end, some applications of KL‐transform and its convolution are discussed.  相似文献

An original approach to solve 2D time harmonic diffraction problems involving locally perturbed gratings is proposed. The propagation medium is composed of a periodically stratified half-space and a homogeneous half-space containing a bounded obstacle. Using Fourier and Floquet transforms and integral representations, the diffraction problem is formulated as a coupled problem of Fredholm type with two unknowns: the trace of the diffracted field on the interface separating the two half-spaces on one hand, and the restriction of the diffracted field to a bounded domain surrounding the obstacle, on the other hand.  相似文献
