Bauhinia variegata Linn. (Leguminosae) is commonly known as 'Kachnar' in Hindi. It is distributed almost throught India. Its powdered bark is traditionally used for tonic, astrain, ulcers. It is also useful in skin diseases. The roots are used as antidote to snake poison. The present article deals with the isolation and structural elucidation of a novel flavonol glycoside 5,7,3',4'-tetrahydroxy-3-methoxy-7-O-alpha-L-rhamnopyranosyl(1-->3)-O-beta-galactopyranoside (1) from the roots of Bauhinia Variegata and its structure was identified by spectral analysis and chemical degradations. The novel compound (1) showed anti-inflammatory activity.  相似文献

Isolation and characterisation of compounds, 1-(2′-hydroxy-4′-methoxyphenyl)-3-(4″-methoxyphenyl)-2-hydroxypropane-1,3-dione (1), 5-hydroxyflavone (2), 3,5,7,3′,4′-pentahydroxyflavone (3), 3,5,7,2′,4′-pentahydroxyflavone (4) and 5,7,3′,4′-tetrahydroxyflavone-3-O-rhamnoside (5) are reported from the air dried flowering buds of Bauhinia tomentosa Linn. Their structures are determined on the basis of extensive chemical and spectral evidences. Compound (1) is reported for the first time from the plant source. While compounds (2) and (4) are reported for the first time from this genus, compound (2) is reported for the second time from the natural source.  相似文献

Three new anthraquinone secondary metabolites were isolated from Symplocos racemosa, a small tree of family symplocaceae. The structures of compounds (13) were elucidated to be 1,4-dihydroxy-6-(ethoxymethyl)-8-propylanthracene-9,10-dione (1), 1,4-dihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)-8-butylanthracene-9,10-dione (2) and 1,4-dihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)-8-propyl anthracene-9,10-dione (3) using their spectral data, i.e. through IR, UV, 1H NMR, 13C NMR and two-dimensional (2D) NMR techniques including heteronuclear multiple quantum coherence, heteronuclear multiple bond correlation and correlation spectroscopy.  相似文献

The current study was conducted to examine the in vitro anticancer potential of Cordia dichotoma (bark, leaves, pulp and seed). The plant material was collected from UT of J&K and methodical bioassays were carried out on ten human cancer cell lines (Michigan Cancer Foundation-7 (MCF-7), M.D. Anderson-Metastatic Breast (MDA-MB-231), Neuroblastoma-2a (N2A), SH-SY5Y, U-251, HCT-116, SW-620, A-549, MIA PaCa-2, Panc-1) from five different origins (breast, CNS, colon, lung, pancreas) respectively. Methanolic extracts were produced and fractions were then obtained from the extracts and evaluated for cytotoxicity. Mechanistic assays, HPLC, and GCMS profiling were performed on the highest active fraction. The Sulforhodamine B (SRB) assay determined the in vitro cytotoxicity. The findings revealed that the bark portion had in vitro cytotoxicity against the A-549 human lung cancer cell line. To our knowledge, this is the first study to show that the plant’s bark has anticancer properties and induced chromatin condensation, confirmed cell death via ROS generation, and significantly decreased colony formation in A-549 cell line from lung origin in a dose-dependent manner. Furthermore, HPLC and GCMS investigations indicated the presence of a number of bioactive molecules such as gallic acid (144,969.86) uV*sec, caffeic acid (104.26) uV*sec, ferulic acid (472.87) uV*sec, vanillic acid (13,775.39) uV*sec, palmitic acid (18.34%), cis vaccenic acid (28.81%), etc. and one of the compounds was reported for the first time from the bark. As a result of its promising efficacy, it may become an essential cancer chemopreventive or chemotherapeutic medication for patients with lung carcinoma.  相似文献

Isolation of flavonoids from the aerial parts of Taverniera aegyptiaca Bioss. (Fabaceae) led to identification of one new flavonol glycoside, isorhamnetin-3-O-α-l-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→2)-α-l-arabinopyranoside (1), along with eleven compounds, which previously have not been isolated from this plant quercetin-3-O-α-l-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→2)-[α-l-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→6)-β-d-galactopyranoside] (2), isorhamnetin-3-O-α-l-arabinopyranoside (3), quercetin-3-O-α-l-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→6)-β-d-glucopyranoside (4), isorhamnetin-3-O-α-l-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→6)-β-d-glucopyranoside (7), isorhamnetin 3-O-α-l-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→2)-[α-l-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→6)-β-d-galactopyranoside] (8), isorhamnetin 3-O-α-l-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→2)-[α-l-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→6)-β-d-glucopyranoside] (9), kaempferol 3-O-α-l-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→2)-[α-l-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→6)-β-d-galactopyranoside] (10), isorhamnetin (11), 4,4′-dihydroxy-2′-methoxychalcone (12), formononetin (13) and calycosin (15)] and some compounds already known from this plant [quercetin-3-O-robinobioside (5), isorhamnetin-3-O-robinobioside (6), afrormosin (14) and odoratin (16)].  相似文献

A new ionone glycoside (6R,9R)-blumenyl α-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1 → 6)-β-D-gluco-pyranoside (1), together with a new natural product 2-methoxyl-4-trans-pmpenyl-phenol α-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1 → 6)-β-D-glucopyranoside (2), was isolated from the leaves ofNeoalsomitra integrifoliola. A new seco-neolignan glycoside, seco-dehydrodiconiferyl alcohol-4-O-β-D-glucopyranoside, together with eight known compounds, were obtained from the EtOH extract of the root bark of Ailanthus altissima. Their structures were elucidated based on the spectroscopic data. Three neolignan glycosides including 7,9,9'-trihydroxy-3,3',5'-trimethoxy-8-O-4'-neolignan-4-O-β-D-glucopyranoside, sonchifolignan B and citrusin B exhibited moderate in vitro inhibitory effect on tobacco mosaic virus replication with IC?? values 0.30, 0.35 and 0.26?mmol?L?1, respectively.  相似文献

From the bark of Juniperus chinensis Linn., a new labdane-type diterpene, methyl 14,15-dihydroxy-8(17),12E-labdadien-19-oate (1a), together with nine known compounds, trans-communic acid, cis-communic acid, 15,16-bisnor-13-oxo-8(17),11E-labdadien-19-oic acid, sandaracopimaric acid, 7-oxosandaracopimaric acid, sugiol, 7-oxototarol, alpha-cedrol and beta-sitosteryl-1-O-beta-glucopyranoside were isolated. A new neolignan glycoside, (7R,8R)-7,8-dihydro-9'-hydroxyl-3'-methoxyl- 8-hydroxymethyl-7-(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)-1'-benzofuranpropanol 9'-O-beta-D- glucopyranoside (1) was isolated from the leaves of Acer truncatum along with (7R,8R)-7,8-dihydro-9'-hydroxyl-3'-methoxyl-8-hydroxymethyl-7-(4-O-alpha-L-rhamno- pyranosyloxy-3-methoxyphenyl)-1'-benzofuranpropanol (2), schizandriside (3), lyoniresinol (4), berchemol (5), (-)-pinoresinol-4-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside (6), hecogenin (7), chlorogenic acid (8) and neochlorogenic acid (9). Their structures were elucidated on the basis of extensive spectroscopic data. The absolute configuration of compounds 1 was established by its CD spectrum. From the roots of Cordia leucocephala (Boraginaceae), two new meroterpenoid naphthoquinones, 6‐[10‐(12,12‐dimethyl‐13α‐hydroxy‐16‐methenyl‐cyclohexyl)ethyl]‐1,4‐naphthalenedione (cordiaquinone L) and 5‐methyl‐6‐[10‐(12,12‐dimethyl‐13β‐hydroxy‐16‐methenyl‐cyclohexyl)methyl‐1,4‐naphthalenedione (cordiaquinone M) were isolated. A new triterpenoid glycoside (1) was isolated from the methanol extract of the leaves and stems of Duranta repens L. (Verbenaceae) along with 14 known compounds consisting of eight triterpenoids, four iridoids, one phenylethanoid glycoside and one flavonoid. The chemical structure of 1 was determined to be bayogenin 3-O-[β-D-glucopyranoside]-28-O-[α-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→5)-O-β-D-apiofuranosyl-(1→4)-O-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→2)-O-α-L-arabinopyranosyl] ester, based on spectroscopic data. In addition, the inhibitory effects of the isolates on lipoxygenase activity were examined. Among them, acteoside and apigenin resulted in 94 ± 3.6% and 82 ± 4.7% inhibition, respectively, at 0.5 mM.  相似文献

Phytochemical investigation on the ethyl acetate extract of Idesia polycarpa Maxim. Leaves led to the isolation of four phenolic glycoside isomers (1–4). Compound 2 appeared to be new reported phenolic glycoside, while compound 1 was the first time isolated from the titled species. Their structures were established by IR, UV, HRESI-MS and 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopies analysis and comparison of spectral data with previously reported data. The compounds 3 and 4 showed stronger activity of scavenging the DPPH free radical than the other two compounds, while the compounds 1 and 2 showed a significant activity of scavenging the ABTS free radical. Compounds 2 and 4 exhibited stronger cytotoxicity against HepG2 cell lines compared to compounds 1 and 3. Moreover, compound 3 presented the highest cytotoxicity against MCF cell lines with IC50 value of 37.17?±?0.26?μg/mL than compounds 1, 2 and 4.  相似文献
